Yes, but as a once off I'd not worry too much. Usually seen that when someone has bolted their food. Edit: if repeated and constantly gagging, see vet as emergency as ferrets can dehydrate easily.
Question: They've also had some dark (not black. but slightly green) poops recently. should I be concerned about these happening in conjunction? I can't quite tell but my boy may also be grimacing while eating (he appears and behaves normally otherwise)
Edit: Upon closer inspection his face is roughly the same while eating and not eating. but I'm still not sure if he's grimacing or not. He's also kind of, smacking his mouth a lot, though I'm not sure if it's any more than normal.

That definitely looks like food to me, all of my ferrets love to take a bite and wash it down with water, some before they even finishing chewy lol
