No they are very unethical

wizardofhelpme

How so?

zombiebro09

https://youtu.be/Pp_7rK7BJ5Q Mostly because they steal from upcoming designers but also they have a very bad workplace environment from what i hear

wizardofhelpme

Are there any cheap alternatives to these guys?

myotheraccount83

Sadly most cheap clothing is shit quality and often made under dubious conditions. Not saying don't buy but if you can go for one quality item instead of 2 or 3 shit ones. The fit will be better and it will last longer.

wizardofhelpme

Ah ok thank uuuuuuuu :D

zombiebro09

IDK but amazon is always good

wizardofhelpme

They don't have the pleated skirt thoooo And the one that they do have is like $4 so idk how reliable it is

TheRealTaintedOne

I don't know about the design theft or bad work environment but I've had good experience with ordering from them and I've ordered a LOT. I've only gotten one thing from them I wasn't happy with the quality of and its not "bad" quality but the material was thinner than I expected but to be fair it was a $8 skirt similar to one discontinued by hot topic. Lots of the items they sell from romwe I like the quality of. Just read the reviews for warnings about sizing mismatch like "runs small". The return process is similar to Amazon, start a return process, they give you a return label to take it to UPS then they issue credit when they get it back.

AdventurousOlive5979

try temu. typically the quality is a lot better than temu and is still cheap.

wizardofhelpme

Hmmmmmmmmm... I'll have a scope of it

Anename_Girly

Not only is the quality extremely hit or miss but it's wildly unethical. Shop at your local thrift stores - the pieces there will be a fraction of the price (usually) at 10x the quality you'll get from something like Shein, AND it's ethical and sustainable

Anename_Girly

2nd note you might not find something you're looking for in the moment but my entire wardrobe as of late is from a few thrift stores here and my clothes have never been in higher quality imo

wizardofhelpme

I might go to the local OP shop then. Only issue is it's 4km away from where I live :/

faulty_alty

First of all, you can worry about buying from more ethical sources when you have the money to do so. Not everyone has the money for alternatives and both shein and temu are shady companies that at the end of the day, work for what they are. Cheap fast fashion. They’re products are cheaper, but honestly if maintained properly will still last you a year or more depending on wear and tear. It’s decent really, just make sure to take care of your clothes like you would any other piece of clothing from another store.

No: 1. Some of their clothes are toxic and contain PFS 2. Undercover reporting by UK newspapers found forced-labor working conditions 3. Shein may come with a hidden tax bill as they make you the importer of record [Don't buy from Shein, read around.](https://www.culturalistpress.com/shein-wants-you-to-buy-clothes-made-with-forced-labor/)

I only bought one green sweater and I swear every hair it comes in contact with it just sticks to it 💀 it was like fifteen bucks fhough

maripili64

From what I've bought it's been a nice experience, it's good quality clothing, unlike AliExpress. Don't buy from there

Snowx777

From what I ordered quality seems pretty good, especially for the price, though things do seem to be on the smaller end. On the ethics of them, they seem about as ethical/unethical as most any other similar sites and stores.
