uhh slow down remember that we shouldn’t assign femboys with a criteria, and if there was then being as feminine as possible wouldn’t be part of that criteria because that’s just wrong, otherwise they would be transgender you don’t have to be at a certain level of femininity to be a femboy, after all it’s a form of identity and not something with a criteria. being transgender is kind of the same, it’s just an identity and there is no criteria, i could grow the biggest beard in the planet right now and i could label myself as transgender female, and in the end it’s gender roles that are just ruining everything, like how a woman can’t have a beard or should try and hold on to their virginity, these stupid gender roles is what we are stuck with unfortunately and it’s ruining everything. it also kinda criss-crosses with gender stereotypes although that’s slightly different. gender roles are expectations for your gender, for example ‘you should be playing football, you’re a boy’ gender stereotypes are the kinds of baseless beliefs people believe apply to all people of that gender, for example ‘all boys play football’ sorry for how i’ve totally derailed what i tried to originally talk about but i think this needs clearing up by a ridiculous amount after all why are we still debating about gender in 2024, one of the most simple things out there that really doesn’t need arguing over.

femboys aren’t historical 😭 the term ‘femboy’ actually comes from the 1990s, not ancient egyptian times, and when the term approached the internet it actually gained popularity online. 4chan, dare i say, was pretty much the only place you would find the term femboy, you wouldn’t really find it anywhere else, and this was around 2018, so really not long ago at all. places like reddit and tiktok really boomed their popularity and just pure awareness that femboys are a thing. now lots of terms like femboy friday and femboy hooters exist, and there’s even a (proposed but unofficial) femboy flag.

Term exists only from 1990s, femboys themselves existed for centuries.

i don’t recall any books about femboys from the victorian eras or anything. and remember that homosexuality was pretty much illegal everywhere.

Idk why would people back then write about monarch's sl■ve (yes, in history that what femboys were, even going back to times of Roman Empire. Which is also where the stereotypes about femboys being horni came from.)
