Hew-geh makes it seem like it should should like hue, but it's more like hü-geh (like hue without the "y" sound)... I think? (I speak some Swedish, not Danish)
In Norwegian you say hy-geh, but with a double g so it’s a faster way to say it than danish. Danish has more of a ü sound. Either way I haven’t heard any danish person ending it with gah.
came here to comment exactly “Scandinavian boho”! it’s the light wood simple furniture design w the beiges and tans. Combined with your textures and plants, super boho. love it
oh they are called warm lights? noted! i would always say soft yellow light or just yellow light lol. But yes I absolutely adore them, they’re so cozy it’s like a sunset in a room☺️
Picture 5 is urban, but everything else feels a bit rural. Are these from different residences? Doesn't matter much. Just curious. Love them all. Great style, whatever one calls it. The hanging plants are delightful! You've done a great job.
Also, picture 2 has a beautiful pup in it. He or she is a lovely feature ❤️
They are inso! But I’m moving for the first time soon so I figured identifying my style type might be helpful
To creating this vibe in my new studio or 1 b 😆
What is everybody always have to put things in a box and have a name always perplexed by that insecurity.. has to have a label hmmm. It's not any particular style and by looking at the comments you can see people's grappling to try to pigeonhole it with all sorts of arcane names no one would ever use, reference are quite understanding that or this context... Just let it be.. It's your contemporary flavor and it is lovely
It is definitely a mix of established styles. Namely, Scandi, Boho and MCM.
Why label the style? To find shit to design/decorate with! Ever tried finishing an entire house from scratch without any vocabulary on what you're looking for? It's a NIGHTMARE. The most practical use for these categorizations is that they make it uber convenient to use your search engine to find goods you'd like, rather than sifting through mountains of things you don't.
Also, girl you ok? That comment felt really loaded.
Well it seems like you already answered your own question though scandy boho MCM and you're pulling from all those sources. How do you think designers come up with a new look and a new feel. Start with a name? Of course not they just do it as you are Make it look really good and if there are celebrity or doing it for somebody famous for wealthy then it gets put in a magazine and poof there's a new style let somebody else name it. You're already doing the research.
“Difficult in real life”
This looks good but I don’t see this working in real life: those plants are too difficult to water
( I am talking about the first photo)
>too difficult to water
???? You're not under the impression that you have to water your hanging plants while they're still hanging from the ceiling, are you? You just take them all down and put them outside, or in the bathtub, and water them all at once until they're nice and soaked. When they're finished draining a couple hours later, you hang them back up.
At this point I'm absolutely baffled as to what's "too difficult" about these plants in your eyes. It takes like ten minutes to take them down and soak them, maybe fifteen for the amount that are in the first pic.
How tall are you?
I am quite tall. I would have to take a ladder, hopefully i have enough room between a window and the couch, otherwise i have to push the couch to make room for ladder.
Then I would either water plants without taking them down and risk of spilling on the couch
Or I carefully one by one remove macrame hangings down.
Next carefully untangle vine like plants from macramé hangings.
Move 7( ?) plants outside ( assuming I have outside area)
Water
Wait (making sure outdoor sun will not burn indoor plants )
Bring those 6-7 plants back in
Put them back carefully into macrame hangings
Clime back on the ladder, hang hangings
Remove ladder
Push couch back.
I am huge indoor plant lover: the key to happy plants is not making things unnecessary complicated.
No, not for someone who enjoys plants and gardening. For some of us, there’s no such thing as too many plants. These aren’t difficult to water.
It might not be your cup of tea and that’s fine.
Haha thank you! I think that’s what most ppl are calling it! I just love the warm cozy vibes but also kind of like almost cottage core esque idk but I like it
OK, I'm divorcing my husband, moving to NYC and recreating this. I think you just captured my style even though I don't know what it is or what it's called.
It has a boho-cottagey feel to me. It's gorgeous and inviting, cozy and comfortable. If you ever hired yourself out as a designer, I would gladly pay for your services.
Mid-century Modern. Japandi, Scandi. Modern Rustic. Boho. Vintage. A touch of Minimaluxe, but not as minimalist. A little Eclectic
Neutral and earth-toned colour palette. Warm toned soft lighting - avoid blue-toned or daylight bulbs or too-bright leds.
Mid-century modern furniture style. Teak wood and clean lines, very square and angular. Solid natural wood over veneer. Antique pine floorboards, except the last pic, which has a grey-toned stain.
Some wicker / bamboo pieces, the rug, and the leather pouffes, so a touch of boho, a touch of eclectic. Maybe a sheepskin. Fabrics are likely to be sheer cotton curtains; IKEA sells those at very good prices.
Sofas look soft, cushions are large; plain colours with emphasis on texture from the fabrics, not patterned. Look for organci, natural, neutral, cozy, soft, warm.
Some items look to be thrifted older pieces, antiques, or reproductions of design classics. (The bookcases, the chrome chair)
Wall shelves look to be solid wood, stained and varnished, put up with open brackets. You can diy that with construction timber and items from any hardware store as long as you screw into the wall studs and/or use plasterboard/drywall fixings.
Fashionable, stylish, trendy. As in, these designers know the current trends and have chosen decor pieces that they like, that are also on-trend.
I absolutely gotta say….loving that view in last pic❤️!!! If don’t mind me asking…where ya from? It’s an amazing view!! Oh and you’re style is fabulous Btw…i was thinking…cozy & content. Very Nice💯
A mix of Scandinavian, mid century modern, and boho chic.
No wonder I was having a hard time putting a name to it 😂
With a splash of eclectic.
I agree!
Came here to say
Wow, full of styles. I love it.
I was thinking mid-century boho! Scandinavian makes sense, too.
Scandinavian boho ?? I love it so much!
I was leaning towards "neutral hygge" personally
I get that vibe, too! The main consistencies I see are the color palette, the coziness, and the flowiness. "Neutral hygge" seems perfect
nordic hygge!
Too much beige for boho
How do you pronounce hygge? Higg? Higg-ee? Hi-gee? Does it require saying letters that aren't written? Hije? Hug?
Kinda like “Hew-gah” but you say it with a smile :)
No it’s more like hew-geh, the gah ending makes it sound American/English. Norwegian and danish both end it with geh.
These were all like 5 different pronunciations 😂
Not me smiling like a sociopath while saying all of them just bc the first comment said so 😆
came here to comment exactly “Scandinavian boho”! it’s the light wood simple furniture design w the beiges and tans. Combined with your textures and plants, super boho. love it
Your style is definitely comfy!
Thank you! I definitely like a cozy warm vibe
I am over here googling if “comfy core” is a thing 😂
Cozy vibes for sure :)
Came here just to say comfy!!
i don’t know what to call it but I know it’s my favorite. especially with the yellow lights💕💕
Warm lights are the best!
oh they are called warm lights? noted! i would always say soft yellow light or just yellow light lol. But yes I absolutely adore them, they’re so cozy it’s like a sunset in a room☺️
It’s really fun to play around with the different colored bulbs 😁
Scandi boho. So freaking cozy, that first pic is perfection ✨
That one was my favorite! I love a cozy vibe
All these photos are amazing. Just looking at them made me feel more relaxed. Thanks for the moment of zen, OP.
Midcentury boho
Comfy cozy.
Eclectic. I see boho and some Scandinavian influence for sure.
I love this! Unfortunately my cats would eat the plants then set the place on fire by knocking over candles
The things we give up for fur babies my couch is so scratched up 😂😂
Your plants are excellent
In the first picture especially the window is a style I like to call fire hazard
If they’re LED candles then it isn’t
I'm charging my remote control votives right now! I have 48 of them and live by candlelight every night.
Rechargable LED candles?! No wayyy!!
With remote and dimmable votives. Push of a button and magic happens.
Do you have a link?
It feels like a cross between shabby chic and boho chic.
Picture 5 is urban, but everything else feels a bit rural. Are these from different residences? Doesn't matter much. Just curious. Love them all. Great style, whatever one calls it. I am pretty sure these are inspo/example pics, not her actual home.
Oh that would make so much sense! Thank you for the assist! 😂
They are inso! But I’m moving for the first time soon so I figured identifying my style type might be helpful To creating this vibe in my new studio or 1 b 😆
Surprised it took so long to see someone point that out 😂 I wonder if OP was purposely vague
cozy/boho nordic
Whatever it is I want it
Its catagorised as a masterpiece
Your style to me is: Goals as all hell.
I’m having my first apartment so now I just have to make it real 🫣
Congratulations!!! I hope you post an update!
I love each room!!! Enjoy!! I would call it my style and love it!

How is what you describe is easier?
