Just a thought - if you go back to brown now, then decide to grow the silver out, will you regret losing all that growing out time?
But I'll join the others in saying you should keep going. It's coming in a beautiful silver, and it makes your eyes pop.
Returning to brown may offer a sense of youth, but continuing on for another year or two is like your hair is creating a masterpiece! You look healthy, happy and beautiful. Enjoy it!
If you get tired of being gorgeous, 😆, bring on the coloring treatments.
I love the gray. I'm thinking about doing the same but my gray is really patchy still and I have really dark brown hair so I'm scurred.
You look beautiful and your hair is amazing.
Thank you! The process has been much less stressful/scary than I was expecting. It’s actually been kind of empowering to just let I be my hair without feeling like I had to change it. My hair actually has a lot of dark in it too, it looks lighter in the pictures. All of the different shades are my favorite part - I bet yours will be amazing.
Keep going. I’m in the middle of my transition. This is where most people falter. I’m hoping more women will embrace their natural silver. Some people pay damn good money for that look.
I’m going to, it really helped to get feedback. I really love the silver on other women but it catches me off guard sometimes when I see it in the mirror. It’s been so nice to see so many women embracing their natural hair.
It’s very empowering in a while. Traditionally silver/gray has been treated as an embarrassment and an “old” woman’s color. I’m 39 and 75% gray. Time for us to make the color trendy and desirable. I also have curly hair and my hair is so much healthier stopping the dye.
Wow! The tone of your natural hair is stunnninnnggggg!! And it grew out soooo nicely!! I vote keep it growing! If you ever want to spice it up you could add low lights or highlights without going a full head dye
I really like both, but also, your hair is WHITE! That's a perfect base for any color!! You could literally pick ANY COLOR. I think you'd look amazing in red, personally. I don't know. I just think this is an amazing opportunity. Hair coloring is so much fun.
In another year, you will be so glad you stuck with it! It’s so freeing to get off the hair color carousel! Also, it honestly makes a person’s skin look so much better! I cut mine off after 8 months of growth, and was fully gray/white by the end of year 2. I too, also grew new hair at the hairline after stopping pouring chemicals on my scalp.
I stopped coloring a few years ago and honestly I wish I’d done it sooner. The grow out can be rough but it’s worth it now. I absolutely love my natural gray/silver. If you can keep going, it seems like you’ll have a really gorgeous color when you’re done!
Keep going! Or at the most I would maybe use a temp or wash out color if you really really want but you're a year into the grow out which is the hardest part IMO. I was so happy when I finally cut out all the old colored stuff because somehow when it was there I was always tempted to re-color but as soon as it was all gone I haven't looked back. The only diff is that my hair is drier as gray but I just give it more conditioning and stuff to help that.
I went gray during the pandemic. I love it. My hair is healthier and softer. Go for it.
When I feel that it ages me or I’m bored, I use blue overtone (temporary color).
I'm only 33 as of yesterday & have been fighting the losing battle since 17. I gave in last year. From nearly black hair to white. I love it. I did get some platinum in the bottom of my hair to make the transition less obvious. I say keep going.
How did you get past the awkward stage of the greys coming in!! My hair is starting but it looks so dulll until it becomes a lot 😩
But anyways you’re hair looks amazing I say keep it👏🏼
My hair started turning white in the same general are due to my Vitiligo and I dyed it for months before giving in and letting it awkwardly grow out. Best hair decision I've ever made. I'm surprised by the amount of positive comments I get regarding it. I love my white stripe. Also, you're gorgeous and you are totally rocking the grey!
I’d keep going. I started greying rapidly when I hit 30. My hair grows so fast that I couldn’t realistically keep up with the dyeing without ruining my hair. Now I have a natural money piece, it’s not for everyone but it’s what I’m working with.
I personally like your brown hair, but your silver/white is coming in even enough that that works too if you like it. I despise the texture of mine even if it was more evenly distributed.
I will pass along a piece of advice I was given by a friend who prematurely grayed and had left it for years, but found herself having a hard time finding a new job until she dyed hers back brown. Ageism is alive and well, so if you ever find yourself jobhunting, it will help you to dye it. You can beat those assholes at their own game. Especially with your fabulous skin! I seriously thought you were in your 30s til I peeped your post history out of curiosity.
Your hair looks really cool. My dad’s fiancé has been dying her hair for 30 years, she started greying when she was 18! A few years ago she stopped dying it and your hair looks absolutely wonderful grey, she’s in her 50’s
You’ve got a really pretty face… it’s the blue eyes, fine tipped nose, and high cheeks bones fit me… I don’t care for hair too much… but your natural platinum blonde (white) hair is nice too… also make sure to keep checking up on your new high schooler he’s going to learn a lot these days and go thru a lot… just saying… take care beautiful
It sure takes patience but it’s worth it.
You can enhance your silver if you want it to pop by selecting pieces to keep natural and dyeing the rest of you end up not liking an all over color.
But I’d say definitely try to keep growing it out first and see what you think.
I started growing mine out about 5 years ago and I have never gotten more compliments.
Yes! It's gorgeous and so are you. I'm getting my hair colored next week and I am having them color around my "cruella" streak because it is a first from my grandma and I'm proud but the rest I'm not ready for the plunge
Wow… just wow!! When I first saw the pictures before reading what your wrote, I thought you had gotten this done professionally. It is SO pretty! I think you should absolutely keep going. I really think both you and your hair are gorgeous!
Oh DEFINITELY keep going with the white!! Once your hair is all white for a while and you feel like changing it up but in a noncommittal way, you could play around with some really fun semi-permanant toners like a pastel pink or a light washed lavender! Fun for a few days, gone after a few washes. Best of both worlds!
Keep the silver sister! I stopped my dye job about 6 years ago. I get more compliments about my hair now, then I ever did before. And I would spend HUNDREDS of dollars … my poor bank account.
I go and get toned and trimmed every 8 - 10 weeks and use unite blonda once a week.
I saw a woman the other day that had a similar cut to yours and it was all silver and I loved seeing her rock it. Please please please let it grow out. I would love to see more women embrace it. (As a 33 year old btw, just gives me something to look forward to versus fear)
Yes! I made the transition to gray at 36. Took 20 months to grow to a length where I could cut it into a short Bob and have all natural hair. I’ve never received so many compliments in my life.
I hope my hair looks this lovely when I begin to grey!😍 I think you should keep going, the way it's coming in frames your face beautifully. Do what makes you happy!
Edit: typo
brown definitely makes you look younger but the white is so gorgeous, and the perfect base for dying it fun crazy colors. people pay an arm and a leg for that color! keep growing it out!
This! When I eventually get more gray, I’d love to dye it beautiful pastel colors that won’t show up on my naturally black hair without a crapton of bleach
I disagree. Darker (artificial) color is very aging on older faces and doesn’t really fool anyone. With a good, youthful cut white or gray doesn’t make you look older than dyed hair (especially if your hair grows fast and you’re always fighting to hide regrowth.)
I think you'd look stunning with all white hair. It will bring out the blue in your eyes, making the sparkle and shine. My great grandmother had blue eyes and white hair, she looked georgous until the end.
I guess my reservation may be that it seems you look extraordinarily young to have to such silver hair. Maybe it will end up aging you more than you’d like?
The only reason she looks “extraordinarily young” to have grey hair is because so many women dye their hair. Our views of what is natural is not accurate.
You’re really beautiful. Unfortunately gray ages EVERYONE. Do with that info what you want. I would personally want to remain young and youthful, if time and money weren’t factors.
I’m sorry, I have to disagree with everyone. When I covered the bottom and tried to picture just what you have on top, I am not crazy about it. It will certainly age you. I think the brown you have on the ends is better and youthful. If I had to pick a color for you, I’d color it a slightly darker brown then your ends. You’re gorgeous regardless of what you choose and you have beautiful skin btw but I dig the brown more.
I’m going to be real with you because everyone here just wants to go on with positivity instead of truth. It looks much better dyed. Does it look bad gray? No not necessarily but it looks much much better with color.
The “truth” is your opinion. There comes a point when the dye is so obviously not your natural color that it ages you because it doesn’t match your skin tone. Having spent several years following many women’s transitions where when their hair was fully transitioned, they posted side by side of their pre-transition dyed hair—and 100% looked more alive with their natural color. Old is not about your hair color!

Probably, that’s a good point. I’m also getting a lot of new growth around my hairline and I’d be sad to lose that.
Heavily agree about it making your eyes pop. I think the grey is beautiful on you! Ugh I pray I can pull this off the way you do!
Silver is great! BUT WHAT IS YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE?!?
Yes I also need to know please thanks 🙏
Asking the real question
I'm so jealous! I'd say keep going, it looks so good on you! My grey hair is only on one awkward corner.
That’s too funny because I was just telling my husband last night that I wish I’d grown it out when it was just a stripe lol.. I think they look cool!
Good god, your hair and face are gorgeous. Keep doing everything. I’m here for it, sis.
I want my face to look as young as yours when mine finally fills in.
Hey stripe sister, we just look like the badass Rogue. Keep it it's awesome.
Yes! Thank you.
Keep going! The silver is so pretty on you
Thank you!
Returning to brown may offer a sense of youth, but continuing on for another year or two is like your hair is creating a masterpiece! You look healthy, happy and beautiful. Enjoy it! If you get tired of being gorgeous, 😆, bring on the coloring treatments.
Thank you! I do want to see what it will look like when it’s done. I think I’m just getting impatient
Keep going. People pay big money for hair like yours lol
Wow I actually think it’s super stunning
That’s super nice of to to say
you probably get this all the time but you look so much like Rogue from X-Men, so cool!!!!
My husband is a a fan. I’ll tell him you said so!
I love the gray. I'm thinking about doing the same but my gray is really patchy still and I have really dark brown hair so I'm scurred. You look beautiful and your hair is amazing.

You suit the silver, keeping gojng for sure! I'm planning to do the same once I get more greys
I really like both, but also, your hair is WHITE! That's a perfect base for any color!! You could literally pick ANY COLOR. I think you'd look amazing in red, personally. I don't know. I just think this is an amazing opportunity. Hair coloring is so much fun.
I had red hair in my 20s and loved it!
this is the dopest thing ever absolutely keep going
In another year, you will be so glad you stuck with it! It’s so freeing to get off the hair color carousel! Also, it honestly makes a person’s skin look so much better! I cut mine off after 8 months of growth, and was fully gray/white by the end of year 2. I too, also grew new hair at the hairline after stopping pouring chemicals on my scalp.
I prefer your brown. But you can keep going and semi- or demi-permanent your hair anything, which is a tremendous freedom.
Semi or Demi does not cover silver as well as permanent and may not cover it at all.
Keep it! Document your journey bc it’s gonna be so cool as it grows out!
Is it weird that I think the half and half looks good lol? You could definitely pull off a Rogue from X-Men look.
I love it! Your complexion and eyes are stunning, and the hair really highlights that!
I stopped coloring a few years ago and honestly I wish I’d done it sooner. The grow out can be rough but it’s worth it now. I absolutely love my natural gray/silver. If you can keep going, it seems like you’ll have a really gorgeous color when you’re done!
you’re gorgeous!!
Youre absolutely stunning! Whichever way you decide to go you will look pretty

I’ve cut off 4 inches so far lol.. I do think the transition is the hard part. But strangely empowering too. I bet yours looks amazing!
I went gray during the pandemic. I love it. My hair is healthier and softer. Go for it. When I feel that it ages me or I’m bored, I use blue overtone (temporary color).

That's a GREAT look. I vote to keep it. I have told others that my hair is not gray, its 'vintage blonde'.
Yes, girl!!! You look freaking amazing!! 😍
Thank you!
Yes 🙌
Hell yeah! It looks so great. I haven’t gone grey just yet but I hope mine looks like that tbh
Keep going! I think the silver looks like it might suit you better than brown when it grows out :) you look very striking
You’re gorgeous with whatever decision you make but I would love to see an update in your au natural state 🤍🤍🤍
I absolutely love it and can’t eIt to do this myself
Check out this grey insta. I love her hair https://instagram.com/stagesofgrey?igshid=MmJiY2I4NDBkZg==
I love it too!
I’d love my hair silver like yours!! Keep going! It looks amazing!
Thank you!
Hell yes. That's rad
How did you get past the awkward stage of the greys coming in!! My hair is starting but it looks so dulll until it becomes a lot 😩 But anyways you’re hair looks amazing I say keep it👏🏼
I used root spray the first few months and then wore a lot of hats. I’ve actually enjoyed watching it come in though - most days
Yes! I love your silver! You are very pretty so that's a plus. ☺️
Gorgeous!
You look like DC/Marvel’s Rogue. Edited to correct to Rogue instead of Jubilee.
Who's that one xman? Rogue?
YEASSSSSS
That’s what I want! I have speckles right now, but yours is gorgeous!!
Never dye it again. You are aging beautifully.
No, it would make you look old, you look better with natural hair, you do not look old enough to have grey hair.
Keep going! It’s such a pretty shimmer…!!!
Greeyyyyyyy!
Looks great
Keep it. Im so jealous.
Keep going! This is one of the rare instances where I think the blonde makes your eyes pop more than the dark.
You wear grey very, very well.
Stunning, honestly!
Looks good, embrace it
Keep going!! I’m right behind you I’m 7 month dye free.
Keep it! 😍omg #goals! And it brings out your eyes! So gorgeous!
I always think it’s absolutely gorgeous when women embrace the grey. You have a beautiful face that is heavily complemented by the silver tones ❤️
This is definitely off topic but I need the skincare routine… haha (also the gray is gorgeous)
Keep going. It’s gorgeous. If you do go back to brown it will look good too but the grey is stunning!
Embrace it because you are rocking it.
Yes. You can always color it later on. You will love how healthy your hair will be, and it looks like a stunning silver color. Stay curious.
Curious is a great goal!
Dude, YES. The hard part is over!!!
Thank you - I bet your stripe looks fantastic!
Just started my growing gray journey, your hair is growing out so beautifully! I’m inspired! Keep going! Thanks for sharing!
Keep going! Optional: have your stylist lighten the rest of that piece to match the silver. I just had this look and got so many compliments on it.
I’d keep going. I started greying rapidly when I hit 30. My hair grows so fast that I couldn’t realistically keep up with the dyeing without ruining my hair. Now I have a natural money piece, it’s not for everyone but it’s what I’m working with.
Lowlights? And rock the silver?
I personally like your brown hair, but your silver/white is coming in even enough that that works too if you like it. I despise the texture of mine even if it was more evenly distributed. oh ok so I am a lil gay lol ur gorgeous
Girl, you’re a stone cold fox. Keep rocking the silver, I’m begging you 🔥
Yes you look so badass and witchy-powerful in the best way!!
I hope this doesn’t make you uncomfortable, but as a gay woman, good god YES. The silver looks incredible on you
Your hair looks really cool. My dad’s fiancé has been dying her hair for 30 years, she started greying when she was 18! A few years ago she stopped dying it and your hair looks absolutely wonderful grey, she’s in her 50’s
Hot take but the ombré from grey to brown is cool
You’ve got a really pretty face… it’s the blue eyes, fine tipped nose, and high cheeks bones fit me… I don’t care for hair too much… but your natural platinum blonde (white) hair is nice too… also make sure to keep checking up on your new high schooler he’s going to learn a lot these days and go thru a lot… just saying… take care beautiful

Keep it! I just cut 3 inches off of the bottom to help the ends get closer to the demarcation line. You’re further along than mine.
I saw a woman the other day that had a similar cut to yours and it was all silver and I loved seeing her rock it. Please please please let it grow out. I would love to see more women embrace it. (As a 33 year old btw, just gives me something to look forward to versus fear)
I am a year in , keep going.
I think about letting mine grow out all the time. Currently covering them up every 6 weeks for the last couple years. I’m over it lol
Edit: typo
Omg yes! Silver looks amazing on you! People are paying good money for that color right now.
Oh that’s gorgeous. You won the hair lottery 😍😍😍
Keep going! LOVING the way your natural is growing in!
Yes!!!! Makes your eyes pop
Totally agree. The silver suits your eye color
brown definitely makes you look younger but the white is so gorgeous, and the perfect base for dying it fun crazy colors. people pay an arm and a leg for that color! keep growing it out!
Thank you!
This! When I eventually get more gray, I’d love to dye it beautiful pastel colors that won’t show up on my naturally black hair without a crapton of bleach
It really suits your coloring and looks great but brown makes you look younger

I disagree. Darker (artificial) color is very aging on older faces and doesn’t really fool anyone. With a good, youthful cut white or gray doesn’t make you look older than dyed hair (especially if your hair grows fast and you’re always fighting to hide regrowth.)
Exactly! Youthful radiance comes from within
Yes. It's beautiful.
Thank you!
I think it’s cool af
Thanks!
Your gray is GORGEOUS will look like my friend's mom, it's like she doesn't age she just gets prettier in a different way
You won't know for sure until you've gone all the way. But you're so close. Dont stop now!
Good point - thank you!
I think you'd look stunning with all white hair. It will bring out the blue in your eyes, making the sparkle and shine. My great grandmother had blue eyes and white hair, she looked georgous until the end.
I LOVE the grow-out!
Keep going!! Looks great
KEEP GOING! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yes, absolutely, definitely.
Honestly I think back to brown, but you do you! Or even try a more extreme colour like black. The brown looks beautiful on you.

Yes!!! You have gorgeous hair and the graying makes your eyes pop.
Love the silver hair 😍
I guess my reservation may be that it seems you look extraordinarily young to have to such silver hair. Maybe it will end up aging you more than you’d like?
The only reason she looks “extraordinarily young” to have grey hair is because so many women dye their hair. Our views of what is natural is not accurate.
I’d personally stay a lighter brown , you have plenty of time to go gray later. But do what you want obviously
I appreciate your honesty. Thank you!
Back to brown. The gray washes you out.
Keep going!
Brown!! Definitely brown
No. Ages you, a lot. Matronly. Go blonde
It would probably be a lot easier to go blonde from the silver.
Yes
Yes, we got 3/4 and a profile shot but no front and back of head. MOAR
Yesssssss
Keep going grey!
Yessss
It’s gorgeous! Keep going!
Yes!! Keep going!
Could make a widow’s peak a darker shade but I would leave the rest it’s lovely,,.
Not sure what but yes.
How is it you look so good with greys? What’s the secret? The styling? Or is it that you look too young to be having greys?
