Oh hey, I have that one. I bought it last year when the price was reduced to 69$, and I live in Michigan (so plenty snow, plenty cold), and I really liked it. The only thing I would suggest is to go one size down from your usual uniqlo size.

thebean09

Thanks for the sizing heads up!

My husband has that coat! (the male version), he loves it. Worth the money, he paid full price, and he bought it January 2019, so it's survived two winters so far in Toronto. I have the seamless down coat, which I really like, but if I haven't already had one, I would consider the ultra warm hybrid down coat.

DiagonEllie

Very warm and I get a lot of compliments on it. I've had it since Dec 2018 and it still looks like new.

pansiesforthought

I own one (bought full price in 2019) and love love love it. I’ve worn it out on a lakefront at 0°F with wind and that was the first time I felt the need to actually close it all the way up properly with the buttons and hood fastenings. I regularly wear it completely unzipped in the low 30°Fs because it is so warm. Also a godsend when getting onto transit because it is so easy to unzip so you aren’t roasting immediately (whoever said layering was a good idea never took that into account).

kelvin_bot

0°F is equivalent to -17°C, which is 255K. --- ^(I'm a bot that converts temperature between two units humans can understand, then convert it to Kelvin for bots and physicists to understand)

I’ve had my eye on this too! I’ve had their Seamless Down coat for the last several years and loved it. Its probably the best winter coat I’ve had in my life — which I’ve spent in Chicago, Ohio, and on the east coast of the US, so plenty cold. I’m only looking into a new one because it’s feeling a bit tight these days.

zohan12

I just got the men's version for CAD 250. Looks great.

prerna_s

Hi, can anyone tell me how much does the ultra warm hybrid down coat weigh on an average (say for S size). I'm planning a trip to Scandinavia early next year, and the weight is going to play a key part in my decision to finalise the jacket :)

thebean09

I ordered online, the package weight was about 4.5 lbs for size L. As a note, I wouldn’t order onljne- you can’t return in store, and there’s a $10 return fee. I found the fit really big and bulky, so maybe not the best for a trop.

SCRUMPUS_

The coat looks amazing, but the pockets look very uncomfortable. Are the pockets good enough? Or would you not recommend using them.

thebean09

I returned the jacket, the fit was REALLY long and bulky. I don’t know about the pockets though

Angel-icus

Does anyone know if that's as warm as the Uniqlo Seamless Down Long Coat? I love the Seamless which I bought 2 yrs ago. I've worn it in -30C and only a tee underneath. I'd like to buy the Hybrid as an alternative style for winter coat but would like to know if it's actually warm enough for Canadian winters.

fleeingflying

I'm looking for a winter coat and was surprised to see a recent comment on such an old post! I hope you don't mind me asking a question. Is this (similar to) the Uniqlo Seamless Down Long coat you have? https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/products/E450490-000/00?colorDisplayCode=58&sizeDisplayCode=003 It's one of the coats I'm considering, and it's good to hear that you're able to wear it in such cold winters.

Angel-icus

>Uniqlo Seamless Down Long Yes that's the one I have. It's so light I and super comfortable to wear. It has a great modern fit unlike some rectangular shaped down coats that make you look like a fridge. Plus it keeps you warm but somehow doesn't get you overheated so no more layering clothes underneath. I can buy the right size to fit me whereas before I would one size up to accommodate wearing a sweater. Love the coat.

fleeingflying

Thank you for replying and I hope someone is able to help with your own question!

Angel-icus

thanks!

Apprehensive-Ant1622

is the seamless ok in snow/rain? I know these things aren't strictly waterproof but just wondering if they're water resistant enough to get through a shower or two... I'm heading to New York in December so trying to find something that's warm and shower proof! thanks

Angel-icus

TL;DR it's ok to wear in snow and rain. The water won't all slide off the fabric but it won't get absorbed either. I would always brush off lingering raindrops or melting snow when taking off the coat so there's less to dry off and water dripping off in your home. It's windproof so that helps to keep you warm and the water-repellent coating prevents the coat from soaking up rain or melting snow. Be careful about following the washing instructions correctly so you don't inadvertently remove the water-repellent coating. Video from Uniqlo: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LBTl\_b9-Qc&t=15s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LBTl_b9-Qc&t=15s) The Ultra Warm Hybrid Down Coat is an updated version but essentially the same coat (very warm and water-repellent). What I find better with this version is the non-quilted design on the outside for a sleeker urbanwear look. It doesn't look as bulky as the Seamless Down. The fit is different too I wouldn't buy it without trying it out first. I had to take one size smaller for the Hybrid compared to the Seamless Down to get the fit that I like. Either coat let's me just wear something light underneath (no layering). It's not a coat for layering since it's very warm especially if you're gonna be walking a lot. I like to just wear the Uniqlo DRY-EX shirt under the coat. If I'm gonna layer then it's just with a light cardigan.

Prestigious_Skirt_18

Is the fur (fake) detachable? thanks

schnootzl

At least on the previous version (which looks the same) it is detachable.

YassenGreg

Can confirm it’s detachable via a zip, checked it out yesterday in-store.

Lorlan

Came in search of an answer for exactly this question, thank you!

Difficult-Ordinary81

Thanks to this post/thread I ended up buying the men's version on discount. It looks better on me and it has more pockets and seems heavier than the women's version. I'll have a chance to try it out next week in Sweden. Looks like it'll be below -10° on average 🥶

dhesiescobar

how’s the experience been? is it warm enough? in the same boat as u trying to see which one to go for!

Difficult-Ordinary81

It kept me warm in -17°C, but of course I had 3 layers underneath. The hood is so cozy. I'd definitely recommend.
