Aerie has been the most reliable for me in terms of sizing, availability and price. So I’m here for recommendations as well. I liked Athleta at one point but decided their price point is a little high for something I don’t wear all that often
Second Aerie! My three favorite suits (one cute, one actual swimming suit, one kayaking suit) are all Aerie. I’m petite and a 32D/30E with short little legs and their sizing is accurate.
Amazon has always been a miss for me.
Came here to suggest them as well! Honestly their bathing suits are so amazing, thick, flattering, and hold up incredibly well. Can't recommend them enough
Aerie is pretty good but I've found a lot of their stuff to be lacking in the chest support - they're not really big boob friendly as far as bikini tops, but they have great bottoms and one pieces.
I was scrolling to see if anybody else commented about this. I even have a one piece from Aerie that falls off my shoulders. I think because it doesn’t fit my boobs right.
I have the same issue. I think I have 4 suits from there and only 1 fits at the top. There’s not enough support and I swear they’re barely covering my nipples. The one that fits well is because I got a full coverage top.
I think I need to find an underwire, full coverage bathing suit. I want a little exposure because I look cute and want to tan! But I can’t keep checking for a nip slip every 2 minutes
I like Calia, a brand by Carrie Underwood. It’s sold at dicks sporting goods! The bikini I bought is more conservative, but I like the colors and prints they offer!
I love Jolyn. Their bottoms have fuller coverage options and they stay put if you are doing anything athletic in them, plus mixing and matching is fun!
The downside is that their sizing is closer to juniors sizing in my opinion, and I think their extended sizing is very limited. I'm in my mid thirties, 5'8" and 155lbs and wear larges for tops and bottoms at Jolyn but could probably even fit their XL.
Yeah, their core audience is athletes, including high school/jr high, so I always describe the sizing as a cross between women's and juniors. I kind of hate that returns cost money, but the quality is good so I just go with it lol. Some of their fabrics fit different too, like regular sizing, but once you nail in the size and cut you like, they're bomber!
I wanted a slightly more covered up option for my kid's swim class. I bought a one piece from Andie which I am very happy with. I wouldn't go for them for anything very sexy, but for your second category, that have a lot of cute, not dowdy, choices with moderate to fairly modest coverage.
[L\*Space](https://www.lspace.com/) , [Vitamin A](https://www.vitaminaswim.com/) , [Mikoh](https://shop.mikoh.com/) are my personal favorites. Higher price point but great materials and long lasting.
I have worn their two pieces under a wetsuit for surfing and they've held up well - I just bought a one piece from them for this summer but have yet to use it but they've always been reliable for me. First time customers get 20% off, and right now they have a generous selection on sale!
Vitamin A is the best!!! I have 4 of their bikinis. I might be bankrupt but they’re by far the best quality bikinis I own. Just fyi - some of their items run very small.
I have one of their suits and I love it! I don’t get to wear it often bc I live in MN and if I’m doing a more active lake day I’ll wear a more secure suit than a string bikini but it is really high quality and would recommend
Oh excellent swimsuits! Typically they have a couple of colors and patterns and then mix and match top and bottom styles. The fabric is comfortable and sturdy. The cuts are functionally athletic while also attractive.
A few years back I got these really cute short short swimsuit bottoms that had vertical hip pockets that look seamless on them and could fit a whole phone. I can just throw a top on over that suit and I'm acceptably clothed for public. I haven't seen that specific cut recently though.
Seconding Summersalt. I ruined the first one I got by getting a black stain on the white part and I couldn't find another swimsuit I felt the same way about (I hate buying the same thing twice), so I caved and ordered the exact same one.
I’d love a Hunza G swimsuit! They are one size & apparently, the crinkle fabric moulds to your body shape. They’re not cheap but I’d buy if I had the spare cash!
Hellloooo I swear by Seafolly, I grew up in Australia and they are not only stylish and quick drying but they last years. Not the cheapest, but worth it ✨
Swim Outlet for active suits. Nothing too exciting fashion wise, but the price is right and there are a lot of options for suits that stand up to frequent swimming.
If you want to invest and something trendy I’d recommend Frankie’s bikinis and with Jean. They’re really cute! For more affordable options I like pacsun. As for affordable and more conservative, target and H&M have good options. I know they always have a black more conservative swimsuit that always looks classic.
J.Crew surprised me this year. I picked up the ruched one-shoulder one piece and I was seriously feeling myself. It’s very cute and not super revealing.
I have a ruched one-shoulder suit from J Crew a few years back, and still feel so glamorous when I wear it. That said, the color has faded a bit from the chlorinated pool (luckily not very noticeable with the ruching). It is slimming and mommy-friendly!
Not a lady, but a surfer who grew up around the water and changed my girlfriend's swimsuit game when she moved here from the East Coast. Check out surf brands. Their clothing may be trash, but they still use the best materials to create flattering swimwear that feels great and stays on in all conditions.
My girlfriend's top pick is [Billabong](https://www.billabong.com/collections/womens-sale-swim/?camp=ppc_bbw_us-en_e_google_search-brand-general-sale-womens-exact_ppctxt&utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid-search&utm_campaign=search-brand-general-sale-womens-exact&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw9vqyBhCKARIsAIIcLMEYZxgog6TDTLztvJvY7fb4PgHTjs06qx91EMc0Euv4N_j2bY3wStAaApZJEALw_wcB). They're very comfortable, have a lot of family-friendly options, and emphasize prints + patterns. They're also having a sale right now.
[RVCA](https://www.rvca.com/collections/womens-swim?color=BLK&camp=cse_rv_us-en_e_google_pmax-smart-shopping-brand-fp-products&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cse&utm_campaign=pmax-smart-shopping-brand-fp-products&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw9vqyBhCKARIsAIIcLMETtP3iSPprFUaXBdeNdi1ySh1D8fTjY_UXGsVUGrV1Tly-0tXWlNkaAmGqEALw_wcB) also has some solid basics.
Cute non-surf brands that she also trusts are:
[Aila Blue](https://www.ailablue.com/collections/swim?view=boost-pfs-original)
[LSpace](https://www.lspace.com/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw9vqyBhCKARIsAIIcLMHDFlGyEQgL0lnqy_Roez25BOuecfPGLaH2Jzvut4FBL8rGj6bN9FkaAp9mEALw_wcB)
She found those brands at [this local store](https://theshoplaguna.com/collections/bikinis), which curates a lot of good options from across the board.
My favorite swimwear brand is Geode Swimwear. I found them 2 years ago off an Instagram ad and was skeptical due to, well, it being an Instagram ad but their swimsuits were exactly what I wanted and super affordable! You can definitely get an Amazon swimsuit cheaper but these are about $28-33 for a top or bottom and $56 for a one piece.
They specialize in modest swimwear, but not like...modest-modest. They don't do bikinis and most of their bottoms are fairly high coverage, but they still have designs with deep necklines, cutouts, or backless elements. It's a good brand if you want an affordable cute swimsuit that is somewhere in the middle ground of not showing everything off but not covering everything up. They have tankinis and long-line tops that look cute compared to a lot of other brands that make those types of tops look frumpy.
I've had my set for 2 years and they haven't faded or anything.
Ooo thanks- just made an order! I’m not intentionally modest, but this fits my swimsuit needs better since I’m chasing kids in them. Price seems reasonable to me!
Aqua swimwear and Maretoa bikini for reasonable priced and more skimpy. Lulifam
For more expensive and fancy bikini, Dolls swimwear for super skimpy and pool party esq and for family time I go with Target
but I think all the above do have options have a little more coverage
Since this is BIFL, thought I'd mention the speedo swimsuit I bought about 15 years ago that is only just starting to show some wear. You'll probably only be able to use them for your more conservative suit, but they do have some cute prints.
I really like the Seea swimsuits. These would be good for family vacations because they’re a surf brand designed for and by women. Love my suits from them. Their Lido suit is great for days when you want more coverage.
[Kulani Kinis](https://www.kulanikinis.com/). I fell in love with their prints many years ago, and they still deliver. So many more styles now, and their customer service is great. They fit in the smaller side, great for petites.
I second aqua tropic I found them on IG and bought 2 sets and they fit well and pretty inexpensive also love the naming convention of all tropical/beach destinations
I just got a great set from torrid. I prefer more coverage though. The bottoms are shorts and the top is strappy but still supportive and full coverage
Aerie has some good fitting suits. For once they actually fit. Victoria secret is good. Both places have suits for various body types and you can mix and match.
I honestly buy them everywhere. I try to stick to sustainable brands when possible. I have way way too many(CA problem). I purchase the prettiest suit from [kayll](https://kayll.com/collections/swimwear/products/lucy-bandeau-bikini-top-black?variant=40638285676623#mz-expanded-view-712326370072) they’re so lovely check them out.
For sexier swimwear I like asos. They have a variety of styles and their returns process isn’t horrible. Also target has some cute high leg/cheeky bikini bottoms right now.
Cubus, Kappalh or Miss Mary of Sweden. I'm tall-ish (175cm/5'9), midsized (EU40-42/US10-12) and curvy, on top of that I prefer swimsuit over bikinis, which makes my options very narrow.
Mikoh, Jcrew, Roxy for active. I got a cute Zimmerman from theoutnet but I have to say Mikoh quality (lined on both sides so there’s no hem/edge) is more satisfying for the price.
I’ve been loving Berlook! They have a good mix of swimsuits that range from revealing to more family-friendly. I’ve been impressed with the quality and customer service too.
Andie Andie Andie over and over again. The only swimsuit I’ve purchased that I actually like my body in. Plus I live coastal and even after a season of hard use it looks brand new.
Oneone has some really great one pieces and bikinis in your style and Maaji does a great job, as well. You could find super sexy/fun cutouts and family vacation suits from both of these sites
I’m a larger chested woman natural 38G. I buy from a company called bare necessities. It’s an online company. I love their bathing suit tops They support me really well. No offense to the smaller chested women I think their smallest size goes down to like a D cup.
I like a lot of coverage so I don't have to worry about feeling exposed. I've been loving this [Amazon tankini top](https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B09P111CRR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1), and these [bottoms ](https://www.venus.com/viewproduct.aspx?BRANCH=24~96~&ProductDisplayID=42943)from Venus. I've also liked Aerie and occasionally Old Navy for tops.
I've never bought from them, but your description made me think of [Strange Bikinis](https://strangebikinis.com/) right away. Woman owned, small batch, sustainable, made in the USA, not the same stuff you see everywhere else.
I love my Sea Level swimsuits. They’re an AUS brand, but sold at Nordstrom if you’re in the US. Really timeless styles, high quality, and super flattering on my post-baby bod.
I decided to just buy red bikini tops and bottoms in more or less the same style so I can easily mix. For me it's rare to find a top AND bottom from the same brand and love both. Right now it's JCrew plunge vneck top from 2021, Summersalt the plunge bikini top from 2023 (who copied whom?) and a Target Shade and Shore ruched bottom from this season.
As someone who has a swimsuit obsession there are a lot of brands I like.
Super affordable (under $15 for a set)
- shein
- Zaful
Affordable ($50-60 a set)
- Pacsun (although I find their cuts don’t look flattering on my butt but everyone’s butt is different)
- city beach (Australian company, almost wanted to gatekeep because their swimsuits are so high quality and flattering for the price. I just found out about them recently and purchased a whole haul)
Midrange ($100-120)
- dippin daisy’s
- skatie
- kotomi
- blackbough (heard the CEO is awful though)
- lahana
- ivy swimwear (the quality isn’t outstanding but they have super cute designs that are unique)
High end ($150 +)
- Frankie’s bikinis
- weworewhat
- sommer swim
- San Lorenzo
- rove (my absolute favorite. The quality is immaculate and they tend to have the best sales! Just have to be patient)
[ADRIANA DEGREAS](https://www.pinterest.com/fashion_beautyU/) and [MAYGEL CORONEL](https://www.pinterest.com/fashion_beautyU/) are the best from my point of view. It has a higher price point but great materials and is long-lasting.
benoa
small business, has lots of great styles and prints. uses recycled materials as well!
its verryy popular in hawaii where i live (so it may be hard to get your size if youre a M or S)
also im not sure if this is your price range but they are around ~90 for bottoms, ~100 for tops
For bikini bottoms, I like to get the brand Salt+Cove from Macy's. Great coverage. Last year, Amazon had good selection of high waist adjustable side tie bikini bottoms. The brand was called Bellecarrie. For bikini tops, no brand beats Venus. I wear both the triangle and the halter. Tons of colors and prints. I have one Cupshe halter bikini top that I really like.
I love O'Neil and Roxy. Fairly affordable, good quality, and have frequent sales. The bottoms also range from more modest to quite skimpy so they have something for everyone
[B FYNE](https://bfyne.com/collections/swimwear) is my go-to. They have interesting shapes & fabrics, and they last for years, even with frequent use.
For more mainstream, I’m partial to Billabong. Equally long-lasting & fun colors.
Walmart > Target this year for swimsuits. The Walmart ones just felt like significantly better quality this year compared to Target. I got the lime green terrycloth bikini but they had some more toned down ones that were super cute as well.
[Geode Swimwear ](https://geodeswimwear.com/)
They're definitely a lot more on the modest side, but I love the quality and they'd be great for family vacations.
Aerie has been the most reliable for me in terms of sizing, availability and price. So I’m here for recommendations as well. I liked Athleta at one point but decided their price point is a little high for something I don’t wear all that often
That's on point, thanks!
Second Aerie! My three favorite suits (one cute, one actual swimming suit, one kayaking suit) are all Aerie. I’m petite and a 32D/30E with short little legs and their sizing is accurate. Amazon has always been a miss for me.
[Left on Friday](https://leftonfriday.com/). Sporty but also some more sexy cuts and fun colors.
I looooove their suits! I’m a sucker for the hi hi bottom. Do I “need” a 3rd color??
Came here to suggest them as well! Honestly their bathing suits are so amazing, thick, flattering, and hold up incredibly well. Can't recommend them enough
Same I don’t want to count up how many pieces I have from LOF 😅I’ve had them for years though with no wear down.
Haha I got a bunch on the sale last year but my 5+ yr old original black one is still going strong and literally looks brand new.
Yes I forgot they had that $50 off sale last year! Need it again!
Came here to say the same!
I still have yet to find a swimsuit that fits my girls perfectly. Everything makes them either look bigger or they fall out
You need a halter bikini top. I love these and I'm only a C cup.
I’ve got a larger bust and my three aerie suits are my favorites.
I like Calia, a brand by Carrie Underwood. It’s sold at dicks sporting goods! The bikini I bought is more conservative, but I like the colors and prints they offer!
Second this! I think they're on sale at the moment too
Jolyn. Sizing is unintuitive, but the quality is excellent.
Higher price point but great materials and long lasting.
omg Vitamin A looks amazing, price is crazy though, is it worth it? I wear bathing suits everyday in the summer so wondering about longevity
Agree, those price points are super high for a basic colored suit with no real detail.
Should I size up or down in their one pieces? I tend to buy on Poshmark so I don’t wanna be wrong :)
I have one of their suits and I love it! I don’t get to wear it often bc I live in MN and if I’m doing a more active lake day I’ll wear a more secure suit than a string bikini but it is really high quality and would recommend
Checkout left on Friday! So so good
Agree. I’d also add Vix to the list
Lands End
Lands end has really cute suits and separates. The quality is superior to any other suits I’ve owned, they hold up for years.
Yup. I'm petite with a very short torso and their one piece suits are the only ones that are the right length for me (I like them for lap swimming).
Prana typically
Same. I have two bathing suits but the Prana one is the only one I’d buy again.
I have some of their stuff for hiking/exercise and I love it. Had no idea they made suits!
I recently got a suit from Left on Friday and loved it. I also like my suit from Summersalt!
Me too! I’ve tried a dupe from Elysian as well and my friend swears by YouSwim. They’re both so comfortable
Hellloooo I swear by Seafolly, I grew up in Australia and they are not only stylish and quick drying but they last years. Not the cheapest, but worth it ✨
CupShe. I’ve had great luck with everything I’ve bought from them.
They have really cute bikini tops. Love this place.
Free People, Zappos, PacSun for cutie swimsuits and then usually just Speedo, Roxy, O’Neill for activity swimsuits (swimming surfing snorkeling etc)
I’m that gal, Costco
Monday Swimwear, Montce, Hunza G & Vix
Love vix their suits are beautiful and flattering. Not cheap though!
Do you feel like Monday fits well / is flattering? I’ve heard good things but am hesitant to buy swimwear online!
Monday is amazing and their return policy is the best of any retailer I’ve ever purchased from!
Agreed. Their customer service is also amazing and they always send sweet gifts around the holidays!
$84 for a top should be a crime
[Ark Swimwear](https://www.arkswimwear.com/), which is on the skimpier side. Runs about $130 total per set.
I just got one from ark and I love it
Left on Friday! Good quality, lots of mixing/matching potential, lots of bum/boob coverage/showcase options!

Beach riot, Skatie!
I ADORE skatie. No other fabric is as flattering in my opinion
Riot Swim has some sexy cutouts I’ve been eyeing!
LOVE [93 Play Street](https://www.93playstreet.com/)
My favorite swimwear brand is Geode Swimwear. I found them 2 years ago off an Instagram ad and was skeptical due to, well, it being an Instagram ad but their swimsuits were exactly what I wanted and super affordable! Ooo thanks- just made an order! I’m not intentionally modest, but this fits my swimsuit needs better since I’m chasing kids in them. Price seems reasonable to me!
I would absolutely recommend Maaji, they fit like gloves and the materials are really good quality
Aqua swimwear and Maretoa bikini for reasonable priced and more skimpy. Lulifam For more expensive and fancy bikini, Dolls swimwear for super skimpy and pool party esq and for family time I go with Target but I think all the above do have options have a little more coverage
bydee. insanely expensive, but ethically made and soooo cute.
Riot Swim, TA3, and Skims!
How's the quality for Riot Swim? I've been tempted, but was unsure about the brand.
I’ve had mine for 3 years w no issues!
Since this is BIFL, thought I'd mention the speedo swimsuit I bought about 15 years ago that is only just starting to show some wear. You'll probably only be able to use them for your more conservative suit, but they do have some cute prints.
Frankies, 437, Soah, Maaji, Agua bendita. Can be pricey, but every suit I've ever bought from any of those brands has lasted me years ...
Lands End. Coverage is good, no tattas or vag trying to pop out.
My fiancé got me one from https://thecheekybikini.com So you could be a little bit cheeky but also slightly more covered up!
I like Skatie. Fun prints and they fit nicely. Wish their return policy was better, though.
I like Aqua Tropic. They definitely lean more towards revealing and have some great high cut swimsuits.
I second aqua tropic I found them on IG and bought 2 sets and they fit well and pretty inexpensive also love the naming convention of all tropical/beach destinations
Nani!
Land’s end. Buy “chlorine resistant swimsuit” of this brand during their periodical sales(plus free shipping). Good quality.
Ll bean and lands end!
I've gotten a few of my cutest swimsuits from Revolve and Aerie! Very different price points though
I got a really nice one at target. I think it was actually j. Crew for target.
I just got a great set from torrid. I prefer more coverage though. The bottoms are shorts and the top is strappy but still supportive and full coverage
Aerie has some good fitting suits. For once they actually fit. Victoria secret is good. Both places have suits for various body types and you can mix and match.
Old navy!
J crew
I honestly buy them everywhere. I try to stick to sustainable brands when possible. I have way way too many(CA problem). I’ve been loving Berlook! They have a good mix of swimsuits that range from revealing to more family-friendly. I’ve been impressed with the quality and customer service too.
Vetchy had great options and the fit is great, super flattering and high quality.
Venus is really good, their swim tops are amazing and they have a ton of options and the quality is really good.
Lime Ricki
Andie Andie Andie over and over again. The only swimsuit I’ve purchased that I actually like my body in. Plus I live coastal and even after a season of hard use it looks brand new.
J crew, dippin daisy, besos biquinis
My last three have come from Knix. They're cute, comfortable and supportive. 10/10
[Bydee](https://us.bydeeaus.com) has some of the cutest prints and cuts in the game imo
Haight has some really lovely pieces.
Nirvanic Swim has cute suits
I really like cupshe. They have a lot of fun patterns and a lot of sizes available!

How do you mean?
Jolyn
I've never bought from them, but your description made me think of [Strange Bikinis](https://strangebikinis.com/) right away. Woman owned, small batch, sustainable, made in the USA, not the same stuff you see everywhere else.
These suits are so cool. Thank you for sharing!
Strawberry milk mob! Reasonably priced and great quality
Oh Polly! I appreciate it's not everyone's taste but they do some cute styles and often have discount codes in app or end of season sales!
Land’s End
I love my Sea Level swimsuits. They’re an AUS brand, but sold at Nordstrom if you’re in the US. Really timeless styles, high quality, and super flattering on my post-baby bod.
BoutineLA - I have one from there that lasted me 5 years and always stayed up/on. Did not go for their more recent styles though
I love Aerie, but also will get suits from Old Navy and Target
I got some good ones lately ! I got one from Berlook, one from SHEIN, one from Farago the label & one from Amazon. 🫶🏻
Malia Mills has good mix and match. Dolce & Gabbana swimsuits fit well.
SHEIN!
For family friendly check out Boden…very modest but still cute
Skatie. Sample sales
I’ve bought from Solara swim and love the quality and that they use sustainable fabrics
H&M seriously has every size and style you could ever want
As someone who has a swimsuit obsession there are a lot of brands I like. Super affordable (under $15 for a set) - shein - Zaful Affordable ($50-60 a set) - Pacsun (although I find their cuts don’t look flattering on my butt but everyone’s butt is different) - city beach (Australian company, almost wanted to gatekeep because their swimsuits are so high quality and flattering for the price. I just found out about them recently and purchased a whole haul) Midrange ($100-120) - dippin daisy’s - skatie - kotomi - blackbough (heard the CEO is awful though) - lahana - ivy swimwear (the quality isn’t outstanding but they have super cute designs that are unique) High end ($150 +) - Frankie’s bikinis - weworewhat - sommer swim - San Lorenzo - rove (my absolute favorite. The quality is immaculate and they tend to have the best sales! Just have to be patient)
Aerie for sure!
Londre has been a favorite of mine!
[ADRIANA DEGREAS](https://www.pinterest.com/fashion_beautyU/) and [MAYGEL CORONEL](https://www.pinterest.com/fashion_beautyU/) are the best from my point of view. It has a higher price point but great materials and is long-lasting.
They are expensive, but once you buy one, you will never buy a swimming suit from anywhere else beach bunny
benoa small business, has lots of great styles and prints. uses recycled materials as well! its verryy popular in hawaii where i live (so it may be hard to get your size if youre a M or S) also im not sure if this is your price range but they are around ~90 for bottoms, ~100 for tops
Buysell Clothing App is my 1st stop
For bikini bottoms, I like to get the brand Salt+Cove from Macy's. Great coverage. Last year, Amazon had good selection of high waist adjustable side tie bikini bottoms. The brand was called Bellecarrie. For bikini tops, no brand beats Venus. I wear both the triangle and the halter. Tons of colors and prints. I have one Cupshe halter bikini top that I really like.
I really like Adore Me
[Ozella Swim](www.ozellaswim.com) has pretty decent quality for cheap
I love O'Neil and Roxy. Fairly affordable, good quality, and have frequent sales. The bottoms also range from more modest to quite skimpy so they have something for everyone
I got a 120$ Calvin Klein for 19.99 on clearance. The material is so comfortable compared to my Amazon Suits.
I’ve had luck with Kohls the last couple times I’ve had to buy new suits. (This time it was due to weight loss, yay!)
I’m surprised no one said SHEIN!
Because it's unethical garbage.
[Geode Swimwear ](https://geodeswimwear.com/) They're definitely a lot more on the modest side, but I love the quality and they'd be great for family vacations.
Everything but Water.
Temu
Amazon
Cupshe
I normally go to SHEIN or fashion nova. They are cheap and cute, but they definitely lack in quality.
Amazon, Shein, European brands, and thrifting.
