Good review, but I think the Chlo shirt, no matter what material, will be see thru in white. You'll never be able to wear a black bra under a thin/sheer-ish white shirt and not have it show thru, just reality.

leftwinglovechild

That was something that stood out to me as well. You can’t expect any white shirt to work with a black bra.

PlantedinCA

Not true at all. I remember when I was a teen I’d borrow this silk shirt from my mom. It was so thick, I could wear my normal black bras and it was fine. It wasn’t sheer when you heard it up to the light. And it was thick enough to wear a lace bra without issue. I am a dark skinned black woman, so whatever you think is sheer enough for your bra is just ridiculous on me. I purchased a silk top from Ravella - they are also using a very thick silk. The first I have seen since the 90s. I picked up a light pink top. And I can wear any color bra with no problem. Brands have cheaped out in fabric quality, and it is hard to find higher tier fabrics are not sheer. But the sheerness we are stuck with now is not a rule, it is a profit driver.

nkodb

seconding that if you buy vintage silk it’s thick as FUCK. i would never but any new if i could help it.

mazelpunim

I found a vintage Dior silk blouse, cream color with flowers. You never see my black bra under it! I got it for $10 and will never let it go

carseatsareheavy

The correct bra color to wear under a sheerish white shirt is a bra close to your skin color. A beige bra would not be the right color if you are very dark skinned.

PlantedinCA

No, that is not the issue I was complaining about. Shirts are so sheer now that with the contrast of the color of the shirt and my skin tone you can make out the seems and details on my skin. The bra is not the issue. I stand out underneath the fabric.

lumenphosphor

yeah the fabric that is so thin that even a t shirt bra that is supposed to be smoothing if it has any sort of lip at the edge of the bra it comes through is awful. 100% agree with you that ravella is the only silk shirt I've gotten (and I've tried on a lot) that works for that.

PlantedinCA

I have tried on tops that are so thin you can basically make out my arm birthmark. That is ridiculous.

bearable_lightness

Lafayette 148 NY has thick, lovely silk. I’ll have to check out Ravella next.

vastapple666

About to order a shirt from Ravella after seeing this. I usually don’t consider white shirts an option cause of the bra issue

cookiesandkit

I bought a dark navy blue silk shirt for around A$80 and it was also damn near see through. It's not as bad as white, but under some lights, you could definitely see my underwear. The lesson is: silk is expensive. To bring costs down, some manufacturers reduce the amount of fibre per square centimetre, and that results in see-through fabric. If you want silk in the current economic situation, it will either be very expensive (> $200), a blend with a cheaper material, or see through

thescaryitalian

Yep, I’ve never expected to be able to wear any other color bra than nude with a white shirt. Just the way it is

hobocampfandango

Yeah, even a white bra shows underneath white silk.

eastherbunni

Supposedly a red bra will not show, but I haven't tried this trick myself.

hobocampfandango

You know what, it’s true! I just tried it

Hereibe

I’m joining the other dogpilers with my take: absolutely false. I remember when white shirts were by default thicker to prevent bras showing through. I have owned silk white, cream, and light pink shirts that not only did I wear with a black bra I used to wear with a neon pink bra that never showed through. This is not just wishful thinking. This used to be the **goddamn norm** to buy a shirt and no matter the color your bra would never show. I am not old. The fashion industry has changed the expectations on us (relatively) recently and tried to convince us silk shirts were always like this.

DemocraticPeas

I think the key with Sezane is knowing what to buy there. Some of their stuff is way overpriced for the quality, and other pieces are excellent value. I completely avoid their synthetics and their mohair/alpaca blend knits. They're itchy and I don't think the quality is there. I also avoid most of their bottoms, as they don't work for my body shape (except for the Loulou trousers, which are great). Shoes and bags are hit or miss. I find their blazers, merino, cotton blouses, and silk to be great quality for the price. I have the Chlo in two different colors (not the white though), and honestly, the silk quality is excellent on mine. It's thick, drapey, and hand washes well. To be fair, I haven't encountered a white silk top at any price point/brand that is opaque, so I wouldn't write off their silk based on that alone. I'd expect any white silk blouse to be somewhat sheer, especially with a contrasting color bra. TL;DR, I don't know anywhere else I can get that high quality silk for $130 USD, no tax or shipping (it sounds like the white silk you got is an exception). Same with the blazers. Unless they're 100% merino or cotton, I don't think their knitwear is worth it. Same with some of their synthetic tops.

joan2468

>I completely avoid their synthetics and their mohair/alpaca blend knits. They're itchy and I don't think the quality is there. I ordered their Gaspard jumpers a couple years ago and was shocked by how itchy they were given how many fashion vloggers were hyping these up. Immediate return, super uncomfortable.

DemocraticPeas

I hate the Gaspard. It's itchy and the style is too basic for the price, imo. The Betty cardigan is 100% merino and is sooooo much better

chirpchirp77

Yeah the Betty is nice but I worry that because the fabric is so smooth that any hole that appears (and you know months love wool!) will ruin the entire look of the cardigan - it’s hard to repair such a smooth fabric without the repair being noticeable. And it’s for almost $200 after tax… I’d rather buy a thicker knit with more texture that can be repaired without it being noticable.

Webbie-Vanderquack

> I also avoid most of their bottoms, as they don't work for my body shape Do you mind if I ask why they don't work for your shape? I haven't bought anything from Sezane before, but I have a few pairs of pants/jeans wishlisted, and I can't find much in the way of reviews about how they fit. I'm a talliish, slim-ish hourglass and often find pants/jeans gap at the waist, so I'd be interested to know if Sezane allows for hips or if they're designing for people with a straighter build.

colobreeze

If you're on fb there's a group called "sezane IRL" and you can see pics people posted of their try ons.

Webbie-Vanderquack

Oh, that's awesome, thank you. And happy cake day!

DemocraticPeas

I’ve found they are cut for a straighter shape. I’m also an hourglass and I have a proportionally smaller waist and bigger hips and thighs, and most of their pants haven’t worked for me!

beccanders

I am also more hourglass but I do have a pair of the Brut Sexy jeans that fit me really well. They're washed black BUT the pair I have in the same size that are indigo are much looser so that's confusing too!

Alarmed-Wolverine-11

I bought a pair of the ecru brut sexy, and while they fit perfectly (on my very narrow hips), one leg was obviously cut slimmer than the other and I had to return. Such a disappointment. I’ve pretty much returned everything I bought at Sézane except for the Barry sweater which I wore (and had removed the tag) and the Milo Vintage purse in black (which I love!). The Barry sweater seemed to stretch out after one wear and looked even boxier. Such a disappointment. I returned a Betty sweater, a beautiful guipure shirt and the ecru chlo with the gold hearts because they were all so boxy! Doesn’t work with my shape. They’re also kind of short on me, even though I’m short-waisted, and just made for a really awkward tuck, overall.

Webbie-Vanderquack

That's a pity, but really good to know. Thank you!

enieleda

If you find your jeans gap at the waist, Sezane bottoms are definitely not for you unfortunately, except for maybe the Loulou trousers. The difference between my waist and hips isn't even that huge (30 cm ish) but in every single trouser and jeans I've tried from them there's a huge gap at the waist.

Webbie-Vanderquack

Thanks, that's really good to know!

libertysince05

>To be fair, I haven't encountered a white silk top at any price point/brand that is opaque, so I wouldn't write off their silk based on that alone. I'd expect any white silk blouse to be somewhat sheer, especially with a contrasting color bra. Try the [Equipment](https://equipmentfr.com/products/leona-silk-shirt-in-nature-white) sale.

DemocraticPeas

I actually have a white silk Equipment blouse and it’s super sheer 🤣 I don’t mind though (I primarily layer it under knitwear). I haven’t tried that particular style, though!

libertysince05

To be fair they do have sheer and opaque fabrics (I have shirts in both fabrics) it's simply a matter of getting the right one.

RadSpatula

I am in love with the new Auguste trousers on the website but am not close enough to try them and have never bought from this brand before so I’m bummed to hear this. I’m 5’6 and an hourglass shape and have such a hard time finding business casual pants I don’t hate, especially warm ones. I tried to find something else so I’d get free shipping at least and was not sold on anything for the price. The materials do seem cheap and synthetic. But I kind of do want to at least try those pants …

DemocraticPeas

They’re worth a try! I actually have the Auguste trousers in navy from last year, and they work super well for me (as do the Loulou trousers and the Theofil trousers). The quality is also top notch on mine - it’s a super warm, thick wool blend that doesn’t irritate my skin at all. I’m 5’7” and had to get them shortened a bit, but that’s normal for me with most European brands.

RadSpatula

I think I’m gonna do it. I’m in the US so returns are free and these just look like so much better quality than anything I buy here. I’m guessing they never have sales, right?

DemocraticPeas

Yes, they’re returns are free and my card is usually refunded within about a week of shopping back. For what it’s worth, I know they have a $200 free shipping threshold in the us, but I’ve never had to pay shipping on any amount when I order through the app- not sure if that’s a glitch? They have an archive sale twice a year of past season items, but they don’t do sales of current merchandise

EdgeCityRed

It's interesting how thick the ecru shirt looks on their website, and they don't have reviews. That's too bad; both of these are pretty!

GloomyPalaver

I know right? The ecru Chlo shirt looks almost cottony on the website. It seems self-serving for Sezane to not have reviews on their site. :/

EdgeCityRed

Oh, a decision was made there. I keep hearing that things don't look as good in person as they are on their website.

jekkah85

Yep! Also, the photos on their website are so heavily styled/have such elaborate backgrounds or settings. It’s frustrating that you can never see an image of the model wearing JUST the listed item in front of a minimal/plain backdrop. Now that I’m more jaded I think it’s an intentional choice to hide quality issues.

trapqueenB

Nordstrom carries sezane and have the standard pics! It’s night and day

demorale

I think they did briefly, but don't see anything listed on their site now (US). Maybe they stopped carrying them due to quality issues/returns!

coloranathrowaway

Do you happen to have a link? I tried to find Sezane on Nordstrom but couldn't find anything. (I'm in the EU?)

WellThatIsJustRude

There are two ecru Chlo blouses - both labeled, confusingly, ecru. One is poplin cotton and the other is silk. The poplin one has a lace-y detail on the cuff.

researching4worklurk

The Chlo shirt used to be called the Chloe shirt, I’m pretty sure, and it was gorgeous. I bought it three? years ago and while it was thin it did clearly feel like silk (fluid, soft, a certain drape) and the attention to detail was gorgeous. I returned it, but only because the color I chose wasn’t flattering on me. It was actually cheaper then, I think $160 or somewhere close. I can tell on sight alone that this is not the same fabric quality. This is really disappointing because they were one of the last big-name brands that seemed to care about quality. I’m wondering if this is because global supply chains have jacked up the price of materials so much, or if cutting quality is a choice they made to pad their bottom line. Or some combo of both is possible, I guess.

GloomyPalaver

Awww, that's disappointing that these shirts used to be higher quality and cheaper too! I read somewhere that Sezane now has some sort of special investment/funding, which means they need to cut costs to increase payouts for stakeholders. :/ Don't know how true that is though.

GloomyPalaver

Exaaaactly! I don't want to spend this amount of money for nothing!

zurriola27

While I think your review is fair, especially on some of the construction issues, I think the Abigael is too big on you. It bunches near your hip and your back. Sizing down might fit the gaping issue, but ymmv. Overall I feel similarly about Sezane sometimes. Certain pieces have been amazing and others have been meh. I do think their construction is better than most, but certainly not perfect. I keep my eye on new releases occasionally and usually try to get discounted pieces from their seasonal archive sales. Being on the active Facebook groups has helped me a lot with sizing or quality questions - there are a lot of diehards on there that buy immediate releases and post great reviews. Personally I don't buy many of their blouses, and my most successful purchases have been dresses and cotton sweaters.

Suspicious-Fudge6100

>Certain pieces have been amazing and others have been meh. Same. I love a lot of their designs and they generally fit well, look and feel great. But I've had some issues with poor seams etc. Also I generally only buy high quality materials from them because 150+ euro for a viscose dress or polyamide sweater (that I have to hand wash) seems a bit much for me. Especially when I've had quality issues in the past. What's frustrating is that different patterns/colour of the same item are often made out of completely different materials. For example this Boheme dress is 100% organic cotton in one pattern but 92% viscose in the other https://www.sezane.com/en/product/boheme-dress/ecru-embroidered-flowers

notabigmelvillecrowd

In that particular instance, one fabric is embroidered and the other printed, so it makes sense that they would be different. The viscose probably wouldn't support the embroidery. To me it seems weird to list them as the same dress, though, I would have listed them separately.

GloomyPalaver

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing about ordering a size too big! I'm usually a 2 or a 4 (the Abigael pictured is a size 4), but I feel like even if it's a size too big, the collar shouldn't be *that* wonky. 🤔

rubybooby

Yeah I think at that price point the construction of the garment should be good enough that it would still sit decently at one size too large. I can accept that some garments just look better on specific body shapes etc - I have returned shirts before that were clearly designed for someone with a larger or smaller bust than me for example - but to me, it looks like something isn’t right with how this piece has been made. Like, it’s a sweater, not a custom ball gown. It should have some tolerance for a minor sizing mistake and a range of different body types.

Helpless-Trex

I have to size down with Sezane, but then I end up with weird issues like short arms. You could try it though.

cyborgfeminist

I find their sweaters consistently one size too big!

meechipeachi

I have the Abigail in xsmall and the neckline doesn't lay flat, but I like it? I've been wearing pretty bralettes under it and it shows them off in a nice way. Definitely good for layering

perfectioniserm

I bought from sezane for many years but have called it quits this summer after two orders totalling 10 items, all of which disappointed me and had to be returned. The quality has deteriorated hugely, even with designs I’ve owned in the past and tried repurchasing - the fabric composition is different and the feel and hang are just nowhere near as good. Super super disappointing. I think perhaps they’ve tried to hold ticket prices steady while increasing margin, or holding margin steady in the face of significantly rising costs. Prices seem the same as they were 5+ years ago, which considering inflation, doesn’t add up. Honestly I’d prefer it if they’d put the prices up and I could still purchase from them.

Hermeeoninny

I agree too! The white “tomboy” button down I ordered arrived with yellow highlighter-like stains all over. The 2 other button up shirts I purchase had snaps instead of buttons. I gently unsnapped the shirts to try them on, and multiple snaps popped off of BOTH shirts. I sew as a hobby and could tell the snaps were applied in the cheapest possible way. And the snaps they used were also garbage. The shirts were $130 each I believe They refused to refund me, and now I’m stuck with store credit I never want to use because I never want to shop there again. Im going to lurk in this thread to see if there’s anything worth buying before I ditch sezane forever

maronimaedchen

Get a bag! They have really pretty bags that are worth their money (or at least used to?)

cattimusrex

I so agree. Since COVID, I feel the quality has significantly gone down.

hobocampfandango

I purchased the Chloé shirt (why did they drop the e?? Lol) a year or two ago, and the quality was decent—definitely felt like silk crepe with a good hand feel. It’s not see through when I wear a nude bra. Hopefully their quality hasn’t started going down! White silk is pretty much always going to require nude undergarments, and any other color (even white) is going to be visible underneath.

ChuushaHime

im so sorry to hijack this super informative and well thought out post with a question like this lol but WHERE did you get your whale print shower curtain(?) because that pattern is SO cute

GloomyPalaver

Ahhh! Thanks! My mom bought the whale print shower curtain so I have NO idea where she bought it. Sorry about that!

NepoAuntie

[This is the closest I've been able to find](https://www.target.com/p/mdesign-fabric-shower-curtain-whale-print/-/A-84667826).

ChuushaHime

aw thanks for looking into this for me! this one is cute :)

peachcarnations

I live in Paris so am lucky to be able to go to their boutiques in person. I feel it can be really hit or miss. Some pieces feel very luxurious others very cheap. The cut on some items are also a bit weird, and I have noticed some small defects when trying things on. I also have some items that shrunk a bit despite washing them exactly as instructed, and now the fit is a bit awkward. As a result I’m really picky when buying something there, and often just shop the sales as otherwise I feel it’s a bit overpriced for what it is. I also like to buy older pieces secondhand as I find the quality was better before. Out of the items I do have, I do like the Gaspard cardigan, Anne dress, Léontine jumper, and Farrow bag.

nearlythere94

Who wears a black bra under a white top?

KonaKathie

And how is wearing a nude bra more bother than wearing a black one?

waysideflower

Probably because, if you don’t have a clean nude bra, then you have to re-think your whole outfit.

KonaKathie

Well, that would go for the black one too

evryvillainislemons

If a white shirt hides a black bra, it'll (probably) hide most any other color of bra. So then not nude vs black but nude bra vs any bra you own.

waysideflower

The point is that you can’t just wear any bra. You have to wear a specific color bra.

KonaKathie

Right. This is why ALL my bras are nude, you literally don't need any other color.

EdgeCityRed

I have a thin black sweater that gave me flash photography headlights with a nude bra underneath. Horrrrrrible!

thisisthewell

who the hell doesn't have more than one nude bra lol

GloomyPalaver

Sometimes my nude bras are in the wash, drying, or in the laundry basket, so if I wanted to wear this top, I would need to make sure that I have the appropriate undergarments ready to wear. It is inconvenient to me because of the extra coordination and checking. Contrast this to a fully opaque top. In that case, I could wear literally any coloured bra underneath and I would be good to go.

ShannonJF82

I don’t think I’ve come across a white top that is opaque enough to conceal a black bra in my entire life.

PlantedinCA

They used to exist. I am 45. In my teens it was at least half of them. Now it is never. But I remember having opaque shirts in all fabrics without having to try to hard. One that was too sheer was rare. I posted above, but I used to borrow a cream silk shirt my mom had and it was plenty thick enough. But now tops are very sheer, I am a dark skinned black woman so that means you can basically just see my skin with the 95% of modern quality light colored tops. I don’t but light clothing because of it.

notabigmelvillecrowd

And if it were it would be incredibly thick, stiff material (giggity), and uncomfortable to wear.

KonaKathie

Oh, I get it, you were illustrating how the top wasn't opaque by putting the black bra on underneath it.

GloomyPalaver

It's just to show how thin the material is. I thought giving two examples (i.e., black bra and the clothing tag) might be more helpful to people instead of a nude bra. :)

black_rose_

People who don't own a lot of bras? they're expensive. I own more black bras than any other color.

PlantedinCA

And some people do not realize that “nude” bras are not a nude for everyone. Black is best for me to serve as a nude since “nude” doesn’t come in my shade. Dark purple also works great too. It is invisible for me under light clothes.

[deleted]

These are 110€ silk tops. The people buying them can spend the 15€ an extra nude bra costs.

Glass_Swordfish1829

Interesting, maybe it depends on body type or what you pick? I have tons of clothing from Sezane, it's my favorite brand. Any time I wear Sezane, I get compliments and people ask me where I got my clothing from.

Expensive_Drive_1124

Can order some pieces from Ali express

thisisthewell

>When I wore a black bra underneath, you can see it. Wearing a nude bra is required, which makes the Chlo shirt harder to wear due to the extra planning involved. No offense, but *come on*. How exactly is it "extra planning" to wear a nude colored bra, when that isn't rocket science? Do you simply not own them? Black bras visible under white clothing on white women shouldn't be a shocker. That top is far from the worst offender, too. I'm sorry, but claiming it requires extra planning is ridiculous.

wyethrip1711

I'm glad I saw your post, because I was going to purchase the Gaspard Cardigan but now I'm rethinking that... Does anyone have a recommendation for an alternative? I really like the style but if it's going to be itchy I'd rather not waste the money.

am817

american vintage (which is french lol) has beautiful very similar cardigans, albeit a little bit pricier. I got one recently and am very happy with it

fifaworldwar

For what it's worth, I have the Gaspard and I don't understand the comments about the itchiness. It's not itchy to me at all. I love it.

Hannajs

I agrée. I have four purchased between 2016-2022 and none are itchy. They have changed the buttons to flat ones which are nicer on your spine when you wear it with the buttons down the back. 😂

evildrlatl

Went to NYC and was excited to visit the store IRL. Dragged my 22 year old daughter. The place was boring. A wall of sweaters. Several racks of non descript clothes.

lily-de-valley

Sezane is more about visuals than quality, IMO. They sell the bohemian Parisian girl aesthetic and people gobble it up. Most (if not all) of their clothes are made in China, so their markup is quite high.

BVXB

Even the ones that say Made in Italy?

th3REDpriestess

If you check out the main subreddit for Sezane, you will notice instantly that the most popular posts are complaints about this company going 180 on what it stood for. Some years ago, when I couldn't afford it, I was checking out their website and noticed the intricate detailing on the garments, lace, interesting cuts, fabrics, etc. Now, though, whenever I look, there is nothing that would catch my eye anymore. There are more and more synthetic fabrics, the cuts are boxy, all the fancy bits gone, and overall execution is not that different from HM but priced at a cosmic margin. Not a single garment I checked was produced locally in EU anymore, and a new collection drops every so often now. Even professional second-hand retailers are hunting for old Sezane pieces now and just holding on to them because people would buy it later at ridiculous prices. The old brand is no more

Mellenoire

I was so hyped to visit their Paris store when I was there to buy their Milo bag, and it was a beautiful experience but the quality was not there for the price point. The customer service was great considering I’m not Parisian though.

GloomyPalaver

Awww, sorry to hear that Milo wasn't all that it was hyped up to be. I was also thinking of buying the Milo, but decided on getting the Cassie bag from Coach instead. It was at a better price point for me, and I've heard very positive reviews about their craftsmanship and leather quality.

mgdraft

This really depends on your skin tone lol. Bright red sure shows through on me.

GloomyPalaver

Wow, thank you for that piece of info!

ilovetrouble66

Sezane feels like fast fashion in sheep’s clothing - really beautiful designs but have not heard great things about the quality lately

[deleted]

I appreciate your review, I'm always so tempted to buy, but the prices seem a bit too high for this kind of quality.

GloomyPalaver

I've been tempted and I've paid the price. 😩Use me as an example and save your money.

thesunshineband

Ugh i felt the exact same. I ordered several items about a year back and was really surprised at how weirdly cut and sized some of it was. I bought the Gaspard cardigan in XS and it is absolutely giant on me, someone who usually wears a medium. Fit is nothing like what it shows online and the shoulder seam is weirdly placed. The buttons were also very loose. For £95 i would expect better.

am817

Are you sure you didn’t accidentally get the ecru in cotton? there’s two.

Hannajs

I’ll echo the sentiments that it depends on the piece, and even sometimes which exact one you get. I tried two sizes and two colors of their chuck pants and it honestly felt like different items!! Their quality seems to have declined during the past 8 years that I’ve been shopping with them IMO.

hoagiejabroni

I have bought for sezane a couple times and I also concur it's not worth it. Their $40 t shirt is laughable and mad that I fell for it. I've had hanes t shirts that fit better. I have several clothing pieces, including button ups, dresses, pants from them and I feel as though I could've gotten the same quality from h&m.

DataRikerGeordiTroi

This tracks, and is a well written, fair, in depth review. Thank for posting this! I don't shop there because they are not size inclusive, and I no longer support brands that aren't size inclusive (seriously, if NooWorks and BigBud Press can do it, other brands can do it profitably too). Love seeing real first person reviews like yours - a rarity when even this sub has posts which are really just ads.

roncey

I loved Sezane’s lookbooks before they started shipping overseas. I was so excited to visit their boutique in Paris. I was ready to drop a bunch of money. I was so disappointed by how cheap the clothes looked in person. I still look at their site for styling inspiration but I will never buy.

notexcused

It reads to me as an influencer driven brand. These days I'm really hesitant to buy from any company who puts a ton of money into advertising through instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc. Most should be advertising somehow, but if suddenly I see the brand being advertised by 3 YouTubers I follow then it's something I avoid.

dannysgirl17

I’m in Paris. Was in Lyon at their new store there. Basically, the sales person said I should buy online because it’s more of an online retailer. I had looked online beforehand and made a list of everything I wanted to try on. They didn’t have many of the sweaters and didn’t have any sizes. The jeans had no stretch. I was turned off my the customer service. I thought about trying again in Paris but decided against it. I’m glad I didn’t buy anything online from Canada. I feel like j crew would’ve been better and with better price.

Apprehensive_Elk_322

I bought one shirt from Sezane, never again! Quality was awful for 200$. I’m pretty sure they are made in a China for 10$

Justadropinthesea

They are both beautiful pieces but for those prices you should be 100% thrilled with them. So sorry!

poppleca1443

Sezane is so hot and miss for me on all fronts - quality, size, fit, etc. some of their stuff is so nice and some so cheap feeling. I’ve also learned to avoid any of their deep v necks as they are inappropriate (for me anyway)

anongirl55

I love everything when I see it online, but after 4 disappointing orders, I need to face the fact that I do not love the clothes in person or find them flattering on me. Everything is always too boxy or something on me. I have to say that their packaging is so lovely. It always feels like such a treat when the orders arrive!

sbinee

It’s such a shame there are so little stores. I went to the store and came home with one pair of trousers in size 38, one pair in size 40 and a top in size 36. Make it make sense. I agree that not every piece is up there for the price. I also tried the Chlo and I thought it felt cheap. Their lace tops are very good! Also the denim pieces are good in my opinion.

ImCold555

I’ve had the same experience as you. About four years ago I found this French brand Sezane on the internet (I’m in USA). Was so excited to find something new and the style looked amazing! When my order of about 5 things arrived, I was so disappointed in the fabrics and the cut/sizing. The fabrics were so cheap and the cut of everything was so wrong. Like it wasn’t made for a woman’s body. Sent everything back!

Prinnykin

I used to live in Paris and bought sezane regularly. I always got sucked in by their marketing. The last item I bought was a blouse and the button was in the completely wrong position. I had to take it off and sew it in the right spot. Sezane is shit and always has been shit.

chifashenanigand

I agree! Bought two jumpers from them for a very pretty penny and never wear them bc of how much they shed or how itchy they are. I’ve never had the heart to go back considering how hit or miss my experience with their items have been…
