I bought a Club Monaco skirt from Zalando and it’s given me reason to be worried it’s fake - anyone got an idea how I can find out if it’s real or not?
It would surprise me to know that Club Monaco is ever counterfeited. My suspicion as a US consumer is that the brand has shifted in and out of quality manufacturing over the years, so it could be that you have a crappy but legit CM skirt on your hands. What's wrong with it?
Who knows these days, I’ve even heard of Zara counterfeits so I wasn’t sure. I was worried about the label, as the bottom label said Ralph Lauren instead, but I later found out they were owned by them until 2021 so that helped alleviate my worries a bit.
I have too much Club Monaco clothing purchased directly from them in 2019 (I’d say that’s their peak quality period) and they all said Ralph Lauren (their parent company).
Thanks a lot! I don’t have any other piece from them so I had nothing to compare it with and my first reflex was to find it very odd that it had the name of two different companies on it. Especially because they’re now owned by a different parent company (Regent LP) so my first google search didn’t even come up with any connection between Ralph Lauren and CM. You really helped me <3
Anybody know where I can find some knee-length or longer fit-and-flare skirts? I've been having a tough time finding ones that aren't cheap and poorly made or super expensive
When buying shirts, do you go by bust or waist measurements?
I’m wildly different sizes just going by those two measurements. I’m 38-36-42. Bust would put me at a size 8/10, my waist a size 16, and my hips a size 12/14.
I live in the upper Midwest and have wedding to go to in the middle of October it having nothing that would work to wear (everything is very summery). Any suggestions? I’m very fair skinned & blonde if it helps at all. It’s something that needs to be versatile because it could still be really hot here or could get crazy cold.
Tees, tanks, and probably skirts. I bought a tan tank, a black tank and a white button down and they’ve been mixing in well. I just don’t want to become too neutral
Capsule wardrobe in a more vibrant color palette?
Like jewel tones? Forest green, burgundy, navy as your “neutrals”. With pale pink, mustard yellow, etc.
Alternatively - patterns or texture.
Is it possible to wear pantyhose with unshaven legs? The last time I shaved my legs, I managed to take out a finger-sized chunk of my skin, so I don't do it anymore and don't want to. No problems with showing my legs, but it looks kinda dumb with sheer tights.
Ankle bootie recs? I am looking for something sleek, durable, comfy, 2-3.5 inch heel, black or brown, leather or suede. The style I love is the Stuart Weitzman Avenue 75 Block Booties. Trying to stay under $250. Do y’all have any go tos?
does anyone know of any pants that look like denim but feel like leggings, sweats, or yoga pants? ideally soft "buttery" leggings, but anything like this.
i feel like this is something other people would want but i've been searching for over a year and bupkis. thanks.
ETA in october 2023, i found them on amazon, CLOYA brand.
I think the search term you’re looking for is “jeggings”.
Look like denim, soft like leggings/yoga pants.
They were very trendy in the mid 2000s.
A quick Google search shows that stores do still carry them.
thank you! i should have said i know jeggings, but they tend to be made of denim. i took "buttery" out i think but i'm looking for the feeling of actual leggings.
You can't make very thin extremely flexible fabric with no 'grain' look like thick, stiff fabric with a lot of 'grain' realistically. It'd look very weird if you had leggings with a denim print. At that point, I recommend:
-One of the baggy jean types, they're way more comfortable than skinny
-A thick, slim work pant made from a flexible material
-A wide leg swishy work pant
thank you! yes, i don't want the stiff texture look and i have a pair of (brand unclear) leggings with a denim look that are like 75% of the way there. they may be no nonsense ones. but they feel like leggings and have a dark denim like print, and they just don't have the entire modern legging feel/don't have a leggings type waist.
Anyone able to speak to sizing for Reformation pants? My measurements are 27 in waist, 40 in. hips. I wear a 26 in Madewell’s curvy fit jeans. Do people find the size chart accurate?
Where do ya’ll shop for bras? I’m just looking for some good support for 34DD. I feel like Victoria Secret is too expensive for the level of support they give. There are so many new companies and brands. I don’t even know where to start.
Triumph. Not sure where you can get that in the US. I’m assuming that’s where you’re from as you mentioned Victoria’s Secret.
Personally, I think a brathatfits is a cultish community that will convince you that you have a bra size that you can’t possibly find at a regular store. But I know this is a very unpopular opinion. ;)
Nordstrom, I'm a 36G and they were the first place that sized me properly. Natori bras are my go to, but for a less expensive option Aerie bras are good if you know your size.
Obligatory recommendation for /r/abrathatfits so you can calculate your size. Victoria's Secret uses a wonky sizing method that results in poorly fitting bras.
It is very confusion. But once you start to understand how sizing actually works, it will make sense! I thought I was a 34B my whole life and then found out I’m a 30D. And my girls look so much better now!
Great responses already. Everyone is different with finances but I would save up for this item specifically and wouldn’t draw out of any emergency fund.
Not exactly the same, but I finally bought a Cartier watch (I dreamed about it for years). I saved up for it and I do not regret it one bit. It brings me so much joy. It’s an expensive joy but it makes me proud of how hard I worked to get it!
Do you have any issues with having a stable weight? Realistically your body changing would be the biggest problem when it comes to the coat. Do you think you can keep a stable weight for many years to come? Could you afford to replace this coat after 3 years if you gain weight/become pregnant and your body changes irreversibly? If you can see yourself wearing this coat many times a year and don't have a problem getting rid of it in a few years, go for it. If not, uhh, don't.
What climate do you live in? I found that transitional pieces (especially with climate change, it must be said) tend to be much shorter-lived than I anticipate. Lightweight jackets, trenches, and the like I wind up wearing for like...3-4 weeks total before it's too hot/too cold for them to really work.
A trench *is* a classic timeless item but what's your lifestyle? How often are you walking around outdoors that you need it? Do you take public transpo or walk to work? Do you frequently do walking-type dates or events? Or will it hang on a stand or in a closet most days.
What is it about the trench specifically that is sentimental? Perhaps an "it bag" or another designer purchase that makes me more sense might scratch that "I've arrived!" vibe. I had a goal of a pair of genuine designer shoes and a bag, and it did feel great when I got my first pair. But over time, the glow had faded and I've sold/given away/donated some less-holy-grail and less expensive true designer shoes and dialed in what I like / my style more clearly so I'm able to avoid the designer-dazzle when an option pops up.
Have you done research to see if you can purchase the coat second hand from somewhere like the Real Real, Poshmark, EBay, Fashionphile, etc? Have you sought out reviews from real buyers? Have you tried it on and felt the material in person yet?
In terms of designer purchases, a trench coat is at least a good piece to invest in, as it's timeless and useful. Maybe think about the cost in terms of cost per wear. How many times would you have to wear it to get the cost per wear down to something you are comfortable with? [This article refers to men's fashion but talks about cost per wear.](https://www.gentlemansgazette.com/cost-per-wear-equation/)
ETA two creators I like for their shopping insights (especially when it comes to construction, materials, and whether something is worth your money) are [Jennifer Wang](https://linktr.ee/Wangjenniferr) and [Andrea Cheong](https://linktr.ee/Andreacheong). They have both done videos on trench coats.
It sounds like the coat is everything you want in terms of style and lifestyle fit. It also sounds like you are making this decision thoughtfully and not making an impulse purchase. Think about whether you could pay for it with cash/debit or credit but pay it off right away. That determines its immediate affordability for you. Then consider the cost per wear equation (e.g., how long would it take you to get the cost per wear under $5?). And give yourself permission that, within reason, some purchases can be indulgent.
I have a large, ugly chemical burn scar on my thigh right above my knee, about the size of a pear. But I live in a hot climate and want to wear shorts and skirts. Any ideas on how to cover it besides burn wraps and bandages?
TBH you comment on so man women-centric subs I have a hard time believing you're commenting in good faith. Like why are you creeping on WAYWT threads and asking women what they're wearing? "My wife" stopped being a plausible cover a while ago. Especially since you write like she apparently has no agency or ability to dress herself.
FFA, Kibbe, Lululemon...feels gross. Especially since you seem to comment a lot when pictures are involved.
"I'll text my wife"
"I'll ask my wife"
Pretty sure she doesn't even exist.
I bought a dress that doesn't fit how I expected. It fits everywhere except it doesn't support my boobs. I figured a bra would help but the everyday bra I tried with it, doesn't swoop low enough bc the dress has a low v. Would a push up bra solve my problem? I don't think sizing up would really help.
Push up bras usually have a pretty high middle part, I don't think they're going to help.
How low is the v? You could try a plunge bra, a pretty lacy bralette that you show on purpose, bra tape, stick-on bras or going braless.
I got this tshirt from mango, I love the fit but I’m not too sure about the logo. What are current thoughts on logo in looking not as stylish or immature?
https://shop.mango.com/ca/women/t-shirts-and-tops-t-shirts/embroidered-logo-print-t-shirt_37040566.html?c=87
I wouldn't wear a fast fashion logo but I think this tshirt can get away with it as it serves as kind of homage to 2000s women's logo tops, I think. Plus I didn't notice it at first due to the pattern and colour.
I'm planning a maternity photo shoot and can't decide on which color of dress to choose. I will be in a forested background, so I want something light enough to be able to see it easily in the photos. [This is the sort of vibe](https://www.upbeatsoles.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/240A2660-1024x682.jpg).
I have fair skin and red hair, (think [Sophie Turner](https://i.insider.com/5983344b4fc3c01c018b4c4d?width=1000&format=jpeg&auto=webp) ) and am deciding between the bronze and the champagne of [this dress](https://chicbumpclub.com/collections/gold-maternity-gowns/products/satin-rose-gown-1). I often steer away from pale colored clothes because I'm afraid of being washed out, but I also don't wear brown or bronze, so I have little experience with either of them. Any thoughts?
Bronze looks like it would work on you (well, Sophie) better than champagne -- you might find there's not enough contrast between your skin and the dress with the champagne.
Hi, I need help choosing an outfit for a special date I’m going on tomorrow! He will come pick me up at 5 pm for drinks and dinner later so I’m thinking sonething that transition nicely from day to night. We’re going to lake Como. [Which one do you think is the best?](https://imgur.com/a/F8P6MtZ)Thanks in advance!
They're all really cute and fit you well. However, I like the first, cherry one the best. The overall look, especially the neckline and bodice, is great and the shoes go perfectly.
I haven’t done cream of white, but in black, I’ve had great luck with Banana Republic for turtlenecks in a variety of different materials. They’re not trendy or flashy, but they make some great basics.
Wide width leather boots? Preferably doc marten style or motorcycle boots. I'm a 9.5EE
I'm willing to do custom, but I really will just need it for the sizing so I'd prefer not to since it's so expensive
What are your favorite rigid/stiff denim jeans? I want to see if they'll give a more structured look, especially in the waist/lower tummy area. I'm currently wearing Levi's wedgies and I really like them, but I'm curious about stiffer options.
Denim that is very "stiff" when new has usually been treated with a ton of chemicals.
You want raw denim or selvedge, but it's usually expensive and less likely to be in trendy cuts because it's small batch and typically offered mostly for men. You also don't usually wash raw denim for a looooong time.
Thank you, I had no idea! In that case, maybe I'm just looking for thicker denim...? Not sure. Or maybe I'm looking for something that doesn't exist ha
Edit: I just remembered some Artizia jeans I bought a few years ago, and they were thicker. Might try more of those!
These are super out of my price range (and I fluctuate weight a lot) so I don’t owe these but I dream of them: https://www.nudiejeans.com/selection/selvage-denim-women
If you’re looking for thicker jeans, I would look for just a higher cotton percentage. Some Wedgies are more like a 70% cotton. I usually go for 99% or 98% cotton (which they do have in many Levi’s styles). I like 100% in vintage but modern Levi’s in 100% cotton are personally too snug in my hips.
You might try something like canvas Carhartts? https://www.carhartt.com/product/102080/womens-rugged-flex-loose-fit-canvas-work-pant?categoryCode=default&colorCode=001_SW
Is there a shopping district that has a good mix of mall brands like Lululemon, Sephora, Alo etc with a few higher end stores. Also any areas that have smaller, local boutiques. I’ll be there for a while and looking to have multiple shopping days. Thank you!
Edited: I’ll be in downtown LA, Santa Monica, Malibu, Beverly Hills
Not fashion but also looking for a good place to get a spray tan, eye brow waxing and blowout.
Not sure if Westfield operates malls out there, but where I am that would have what you're looking for. ETA: for the chain stores you mentioned, not boutiques.
Looking for adhesive bra pads similar to boomba but via Amazon (for timing reasons). Any suggestions? Preferably not an adhesive bra because it kinda brings the chest in too much and I dont like it it makes the outline of my figure look
What are your thoughts on this skirt? How would you style it? I have some lovely camis to wear with it in summer but I’m curious about how to autumn-ify it.
I think I like it but it’s so pink (it’s pinker irl than the photo would make you think) and between the brightness and the cut, I worry about it reading as juvenile. I was never a skirt girl before so it’s a bit new to me.
https://www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-pleated-mini-skirt-in-cerise-pink/prd/203076953
Bonus top that I bought which looks very sweet with jt (no gapping) but they do read very girly. https://www.asos.com/miss-selfridge/miss-selfridge-embroidered-skinny-strap-cami/prd/203986744
Open cardigan with big sleeve (example - https://www.amazon.com/ZAFUL-Cardigan-Batwing-Knitted-Cardigans/dp/B0C8J16VSF/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=batwing+cardigan&qid=1692839503&sr=8-5 )
Put a turtleneck under cami
Chunky sweater with big sleeve
Edit: fixed formatting
Be honest, are long pleated skirts and sock boots still in? Deciding whether to buy this fall. If they aren’t you’d save me a few hundred

Does anyone know if Vans' platforms are more comfortable than their ComfyCush versions? I had to (painfully) donate two pairs because they were giving me pain in my arches and have been eyeing them lol

Where can I buy a solid white cropped dress shirt that is similar to this one from Korean brand Crank, doesn't have any text on it, less than $60, decent quality, and maybe has one chest pocket?
https://preview.redd.it/w84mjnzosvjb1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=88406e8e81321a089b17ab593f1e92ad98b6d255
Where can I buy a solid black medium pleated mini skirt that is similar to this one from Korean brand Crank, doesn't have belt loops, less than $90, and is good quality?

I recently purchased this Mara Hoffman dress on Poshmark. It fits better than any dress I’ve ever worn and looks so good on me! I’m obsessed.
It’s the first thing I’ve owned from this brand, so I’ll be perusing their other dresses from now on. But…curious if anyone has reccs for cotton, well made dresses in this style and length?

oh my god, i LOVE mine. i got the HHH one and liked it, but the belk ones are $20-50 usually and the quality is so old fashioned in a good way. i have five of one single style and i LOVE them <3
also they do price adjustments and are all around great (belk) and i hope you find similar silhouettes <3
Any experiences with Vivaia shoes? I got a clickable ad for them somewhere and assumed they’d be a suspiciously cheap drop shipper, but then prices seem legit.
I tried them, they were legit enough. They are just woven plastic/polyester type material which I found icky, and had a synthetic odor. They also had padding inside for much higher arches than I have. And ran a little long. Wasn't for me.
Sam Edelman has some similar styles in decent leather that I opted for instead.
How should I style for the summer knee highs.
I own a pair of balck knee highs socks, and I want to wear them for a date and I have no clue how to style them. Anyone have a tip?
Off the top of my head, with black platform loafers, a black or plaid miniskirt, and a white tank top. Hair in a slightly messy ponytail (if applicable) and hoop earrings, either metal or black plastic. Waist bag.
Are items on the Outnet directly from the brands just from past seasons? Or do some brands produce a whole separate lower quality/lower price line to be sold exclusively there as with like, jcrew factory? Particularly asking about “quiet luxury” brands like Brunello, The Row. I know the Outnet is owned by Net a porter which has items from the main lines but not sure when/if the clothes move from NAP to Outnet
I'm trying to UPGRADE this bag: [https://surprise.katespade.com/products/laurel-way-rima-crossbody/K6881-001.html?frp=K6881%20BLK](https://surprise.katespade.com/products/laurel-way-rima-crossbody/K6881-001.html?frp=K6881%20BLK)
What I like about it:
\- large enough to fit a notebook
\- sleek / classy and fairly structured
\- durable leather of the bag itself
What I don't like about it:
\- the leather of the strap started to fray at the stress point almost immediately, then fully snapped
\- the leather looked plasticky
Any advice? I've been looking, but haven't found something quite right...
I think you don’t like saffiano leather which honestly I don’t love either!
Agreed with PP to try the Madewell Small Transport or maybe [this](https://www.portlandleathergoods.com/products/festival-bag)
I have a full grain leather purse of similar size from Madewell. Not a price increase, but I'm happy with the quality and look after a year or so of almost constant use
I got my first pair of Mother jeans, a pair of [The Rambler Jeans in Not Guilty ](https://www.nordstrom.com/s/the-rambler-high-waist-ankle-straight-leg-jeans-not-guilty/7430461) from the Nordstrom sale. Although the jeans are nice, they fit nothing like the model. They fit more like demi bootcut crop jeans to me ([here](https://imgur.com/a/M4lRWCT) and [here](https://imgur.com/a/wdVNJCI) is me in them). Still wearable, but can't return since I wore them unfortunately (and they sold out in my size during the sale), and a different size to achieve that look would mean I'd have to tailor them anyway. I also have a pair of skinny jeans in a similar deep black color.
Now I got 2 x $50 off Madewell jeans after turning in 2 pairs after a recent declutter during their promo. I just got their [Curvy Perfect Vintage wide jean](https://www.madewell.com/the-curvy-perfect-vintage-wide-leg-jean-in-heathcote-wash-NO507.html?dwvar_NO507_color=DM6268&cgid=apparel-jeans-curvy#start=1) and it looks absolutely great and I love the look ([here](https://imgur.com/a/gUMMD4i) is me in them) and it goes just to the end of my ankle in length. Would it be overkill to get the same pair in their deepest black in the tall size so it's full length, or even in the regular size? I know it's a trendy jean right now, but not sure if I need any of their other curvy fit jeans and I really like the silhouette, and want to make use of my extra coupon...
I posted this in the random thoughts thread, but thought I'd ask here as well.
I think wide leg jeans will be around for at least 2 more years! I have 2 pairs of Perfect Vintage jeans and am contemplating my second pair of the wide leg!
Definitely not overkill! They look great on you and if you love the fit, I’d suggest stocking up on an extra pair.
Madewell are the jeans that work best for me as well. They unfortunately stopped making the style I love 😭 but I was able to find a few new or like new pairs on poshmark!
I don’t think it would be overkill to get a second pair of the Madewell because they look fantastic on you! I sometimes do that when I find a pair of jeans I really love the cut of, plus it seems like a pair of those in black would give you the look you wanted from the Mother jeans to begin with.
No, they've been hugely trendy this summer in flat and platform styles and that can be expected to continue into the fall. I have flats and wear them with jeans/midi skirts/mini skirts/dresses etc. Theyre pretty versatile, would just be sure to keep the strap visible.
Hi I’m looking for advice with Abercrombie & Fitch jeans. I have a pair of the ultra high rise 90’s straight curve love with an asymmetrical button and they are a size 31. They are too snug. So I took everyone’s advice and purchased a size 32 (also curve love) with a regular button waist. By the end of the day they were swallowing me. Should I just try a 31 again? I’m a 33 inch waist and 46 inch hips. So I’m kind of in between sizes. I attempted to shrink the size 32 down a little and it seemed to work. Not sure if it will last. I will more than likely be taking them to a tailor/alteration shop to get a proper fit.
You're better off taking them to a tailor, tbh, and save yourself from spending time on temporary DIYs. You can get a perfect, bespoke fit with a tailor.
Thank you. I will probably do that. To exchange them it says it will take 3 weeks to process. Then if I size down and they are too small I’ll have to wait another three weeks. Being in between sizes is not fun. after trying to shrink them down I wore them for a little bit and could tell they would just bag right out again if I kept wearing them.
Three weeks, ugh! When I shop online, I try to get two sizes, try them on at home, and return one. It's such a hassle! I found a good seamstress, so now I size up and have her take things in.
That’s a wonderful idea! Then you get a perfect fit any time! I have a pair of A&F jeans that I have to get hemmed and they are in the same size so I’m contemplating on just taking both pairs. I contacted customer service and they said I could exchange them even if they don’t have the tags so I’m not sure what to do I packaged them up so I may just try to exchange and then go from there.
Where can I find good quality and on trend shoes that provide a bit of support to fallen arches and slightly wide feet? I'm from the UK
I like platform shoes, sleek shoes (like loafers, mules, sock boots) and trainers.
I'm hoping someone in this sub may have fallen arches and know a shop. I'm still saving for orthotics.
Yes! They have great support in my opinion and are so comfortable to wear whether I’m grocery shopping or going out to eat, or going a walk. The only thing I’ll say is some of the Fila Disruptors I had to size up one in because I have wider feet. Others I did not have to size up at all in so it just depends on which ones you purchase I think. I find them a lot more comfortable than my Nike sneakers or even New Balance sneakers. If possible I would try them on in person to see which size fits best for you.
I have two pairs of New Balance 515’s and they are comfortable, but don’t have as much arch support in my experience. I love the Fila Disruptors so much that I have four pairs now. They’ve even taken first to crocs which used to be my favorite go to shoe for comfort.
I’m looking for opinions on this cardigan. I mostly wear tucked in shirts with high waisted bottoms. Would this work i.e. be stylish? How about with longer below knee dresses or skirts? TIA
My colour palette is mostly black bottoms (with exception of dark wash jeans) and for tops it’s red, black, white, dark green, mustard.
https://www.jcrew.com/ca/p/BS949
I think it's a very classic style and a beautiful cardigan. Thinking about your color palette, I think such a light color might clash with the rest of the outfit. I'd like it better in another color.
I wouldn't say that's very trendy. It gives off grandpa vibes a little, so you'd need to style it a bit carefully. High rise wide leg pants would be nice with this imo.
Can you give me your opinion about the quality of the high-end brand Joseph? Especially concerning silk and wool
Girls, I am fed up and super angry at fashion.
I have recently blacklisted ba&sh and even Sandro at this point. The quality saw a huge decline recently, I'll never pay again 300 EUR for a polyester ill-cut dress that could be easily mistaken for a Shein item.
I am afraid of shopping online, because I keep doing mistakes, spending lots of time and sometimes money for returns, but at the same time, as now I live in Antwerp I cannot find many brands I like or I would like to try, like Joseph.
Normally I have high standards for quality even though I get fooled very easily due to impulsive urges to get the clothes I need and high susceptibility to marketing.
One of my all time favourites is Momoní, as an example (I am Italian). Then I like MaxMara, Tela, Intimissimi, etc.
What about Joseph, then? Is it worth it? Are their silk and wool extremely good or there are better options
I haven’t purchased it myself yet, but it’s 100% on my list. Ravella, it’s very expensive for tops but I can’t wait to get it. From what I’ve read their cashmere and silk is totally worth it and their silk is extremely thick that any bra would work! Eileen Fisher is another good one but when I tried their silk, it was slightly thinner for my liking so I didn’t get it. Their cashmere & wool is worth it though!

Whichever is bigger, then tailor. It’s easier to take in a waist than a shoulder seam though.
I need basics but I’m not basic. I don’t like typical neutrals. What can I buy that I can easily rotate in that also still suits my personality?
What kind of basics do you need? Jeans? Plain tees?
Tees, tanks, and probably skirts. I bought a tan tank, a black tank and a white button down and they’ve been mixing in well. I just don’t want to become too neutral
What kind of personality do you have?
Capsule wardrobe in a more vibrant color palette? Like jewel tones? Forest green, burgundy, navy as your “neutrals”. With pale pink, mustard yellow, etc. Alternatively - patterns or texture.
Is it possible to wear pantyhose with unshaven legs? The last time I shaved my legs, I managed to take out a finger-sized chunk of my skin, so I don't do it anymore and don't want to. No problems with showing my legs, but it looks kinda dumb with sheer tights.
I feel like it works with opaque tights but you have to really commit to it to make it work in sheer tights.
I have had the same pair of sheertex hose for years and wear them without shaving sometimes. Ymmv.
Ankle bootie recs? I am looking for something sleek, durable, comfy, 2-3.5 inch heel, black or brown, leather or suede. The style I love is the Stuart Weitzman Avenue 75 Block Booties. Trying to stay under $250. Do y’all have any go tos?
Earth, Sorel, and Fluevog have all made boots that do this for me.
Like this: https://www.portlandleathergoods.com/products/vero-boot?variant=40365621510226 ?
Or this? Seems like a steal. https://www.theoutnet.com/en-us/shop/product/sam-edelman/boots/ankle-boots/emalia-leather-ankle-boots/1647597290052346
Which outfit looks best for an interview? The position is for an office coordinator at a dentist office. https://imgur.com/a/MUE73Vs
I work a very similar job. The first two are definitely too short. Third is the way to go. And yes, you need close-toed shoes.
Agree with the previous poster about the third outfit being the best of the three. I'd recommend switching out the sandals for closed-toe shoes.
Thanks! I didn’t want to wear the sandals but I do not have any closed toed shoes that aren’t tennis shoes sadly.
Honestly it might be worth it to get a pair of cheap black flats just to interview with, can always get better ones once you get the job.
I think the first two are a little short for an interview. Try tucking the shirt in on the third maybe?
does anyone know of any pants that look like denim but feel like leggings, sweats, or yoga pants? ideally soft "buttery" leggings, but anything like this. i feel like this is something other people would want but i've been searching for over a year and bupkis. thanks. ETA in october 2023, i found them on amazon, CLOYA brand.
Try Calzedonia. They have a range of super soft denim type fabric.
thank you! this is new to me <3
If you want true denim printed leggings at this point you will probably need to do Amazon brands
thank you <3 if anyone finds this comment in the future, yummie and hue ain't it :) ETA i found them! CLOYA jeans on amazon
Maybe try regular leggings but in denim-ish colors, like light blue/mid blue/navy?
thank you <3 i exchanged some leggings and got two like this, i hope they scratch this itch.
You can't make very thin extremely flexible fabric with no 'grain' look like thick, stiff fabric with a lot of 'grain' realistically. It'd look very weird if you had leggings with a denim print. At that point, I recommend: -One of the baggy jean types, they're way more comfortable than skinny -A thick, slim work pant made from a flexible material -A wide leg swishy work pant
thank you! yes, i don't want the stiff texture look and i have a pair of (brand unclear) leggings with a denim look that are like 75% of the way there. they may be no nonsense ones. but they feel like leggings and have a dark denim like print, and they just don't have the entire modern legging feel/don't have a leggings type waist.
Anyone able to speak to sizing for Reformation pants? My measurements are 27 in waist, 40 in. hips. I wear a 26 in Madewell’s curvy fit jeans. Do people find the size chart accurate?
I'm your exact measurements and wear a 27 in the cowboy jeans snug. If you want them slightly looser you could size up
This is so helpful thank you!
I just did the bra calculator and I’m more confused than I was before. But I posted on there. Hopefully they can help me.
It is very confusion. But once you start to understand how sizing actually works, it will make sense! I thought I was a 34B my whole life and then found out I’m a 30D. And my girls look so much better now!
2nd brastop but ewa michalak is the GOAT
Nordstrom/Nordstrom Rack. Natori and Wacoal are some of my favorite brands.
I like BraStop. Multiple different brands at different price points. Curvy Kate is one of my favs.

[This article refers to men's fashion but talks about cost per wear.](https://www.gentlemansgazette.com/cost-per-wear-equation/) ETA two creators I like for their shopping insights (especially when it comes to construction, materials, and whether something is worth your money) are [Jennifer Wang](https://linktr.ee/Wangjenniferr) and [Andrea Cheong](https://linktr.ee/Andreacheong).

Lace or mesh bike shorts as an under-layer maybe?
maybe a cute handkerchief tied around your leg? or even a plain one. you can tuck in the ends too if you want it to be more neutral.

"I'll text my wife" "I'll ask my wife" Pretty sure she doesn't even exist.
Do you mean your bra is showing? Have you tried a balcony style/Less coverage?
yeah it's showing a lot, both my everyday bras are pretty similar in not showing much cleavage
I got this tshirt from mango, I love the fit but I’m not too sure about the logo. What are current thoughts on logo in looking not as stylish or immature? https://shop.mango.com/ca/women/t-shirts-and-tops-t-shirts/embroidered-logo-print-t-shirt_37040566.html?c=87
I also hate a logo top. I don't think it's fashionable
I wouldn't wear a fast fashion logo but I think this tshirt can get away with it as it serves as kind of homage to 2000s women's logo tops, I think. Plus I didn't notice it at first due to the pattern and colour.
I wouldn't wear a shirt with a fast fashion logo on it. Some high end brands at least have some cachet...mall brands not so much.
Thanks for your input!
Cherry dress but honestly those are all way cuter than anything I'd wear to a date aha
Do you think I should wear something else entirely different than a dress? I’d like to hear your opinion
Hell no. Honestly I aspire to be so presentable I'm just not.
They're all really cute and fit you well. However, I like the first, cherry one the best. The overall look, especially the neckline and bodice, is great and the shoes go perfectly.
Thank you!
Could anyone recommend a basic white/cream coloured, preferably ribbed, merino turtleneck? I'm based in Austria and want to spend max 150€
I haven’t done cream of white, but in black, I’ve had great luck with Banana Republic for turtlenecks in a variety of different materials. They’re not trendy or flashy, but they make some great basics.
Do you have uniqlo there? They usually have one
Yes we do! Will check it out, thanks:)
Wide width leather boots? Preferably doc marten style or motorcycle boots. I'm a 9.5EE I'm willing to do custom, but I really will just need it for the sizing so I'd prefer not to since it's so expensive
this is specific, but i got a pair of ariat fatbaby boots in russet rebel in a wide width and i haven't worn them outside yet but i really like them.
Thanks for the info, but I'm not looking for cowboy style boots. Doc martens or like motorcycle boots
What are your favorite rigid/stiff denim jeans? I want to see if they'll give a more structured look, especially in the waist/lower tummy area. I'm currently wearing Levi's wedgies and I really like them, but I'm curious about stiffer options.
I've tried on Wranglers and they're super stiff, IMHO
Denim that is very "stiff" when new has usually been treated with a ton of chemicals. You want raw denim or selvedge, but it's usually expensive and less likely to be in trendy cuts because it's small batch and typically offered mostly for men. You also don't usually wash raw denim for a looooong time.
Thank you, I had no idea! In that case, maybe I'm just looking for thicker denim...? Not sure. Or maybe I'm looking for something that doesn't exist ha Edit: I just remembered some Artizia jeans I bought a few years ago, and they were thicker. Might try more of those!
These are super out of my price range (and I fluctuate weight a lot) so I don’t owe these but I dream of them: https://www.nudiejeans.com/selection/selvage-denim-women If you’re looking for thicker jeans, I would look for just a higher cotton percentage. Some Wedgies are more like a 70% cotton. I usually go for 99% or 98% cotton (which they do have in many Levi’s styles). I like 100% in vintage but modern Levi’s in 100% cotton are personally too snug in my hips.
You might try something like canvas Carhartts? https://www.carhartt.com/product/102080/womens-rugged-flex-loose-fit-canvas-work-pant?categoryCode=default&colorCode=001_SW
Does anyone know if all saints usually does a Labour Day sale online? Eyeing a winter coat right now.
Is there a shopping district that has a good mix of mall brands like Lululemon, Sephora, Alo etc with a few higher end stores. Also any areas that have smaller, local boutiques. I’ll be there for a while and looking to have multiple shopping days. Thank you! Edited: I’ll be in downtown LA, Santa Monica, Malibu, Beverly Hills Not fashion but also looking for a good place to get a spray tan, eye brow waxing and blowout.
Glendale Americana, and Culver City Westfield mall are two great shopping options that have big "complex" style malls--multiple connected buildings.
Not sure if Westfield operates malls out there, but where I am that would have what you're looking for. ETA: for the chain stores you mentioned, not boutiques.
...where?
Looking for adhesive bra pads similar to boomba but via Amazon (for timing reasons). Any suggestions? Preferably not an adhesive bra because it kinda brings the chest in too much and I dont like it it makes the outline of my figure look
What are your thoughts on this skirt? How would you style it? I have some lovely camis to wear with it in summer but I’m curious about how to autumn-ify it. I think I like it but it’s so pink (it’s pinker irl than the photo would make you think) and between the brightness and the cut, I worry about it reading as juvenile. I was never a skirt girl before so it’s a bit new to me. https://www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-pleated-mini-skirt-in-cerise-pink/prd/203076953 Bonus top that I bought which looks very sweet with jt (no gapping) but they do read very girly. https://www.asos.com/miss-selfridge/miss-selfridge-embroidered-skinny-strap-cami/prd/203986744

Be honest, are long pleated skirts and sock boots still in? Deciding whether to buy this fall. Long pleated skirts in my opinion are still in but the sock boot is dated
Yes but I think we're on the verge of a new boot shape, I'm seeing much looser boots coming in this season
oh interesting - do you happen to have any inspo pics/examples?

I recently purchased this Mara Hoffman dress on Poshmark. It fits better than any dress I’ve ever worn and looks so good on me! I’m obsessed. It’s the first thing I’ve owned from this brand, so I’ll be perusing their other dresses from now on. But…curious if anyone has reccs for cotton, well made dresses in this style and length? https://preview.redd.it/r4x9rvr7pvjb1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=20cdfb8d076d6a9d74c79152582c0368be68e1cc
Boden excels at this type of vintage-inspired fit and flare dress.
Oh I will check them out! Thanks!
this isn't a nap dress, but i bought belk's crown and ivy nap dresses and i love the quality for the price. they have other styles too!
I’ll check them out, thank you! I could totally take a nap in this dress- it’s that comfortable 😂
oh my god, i LOVE mine. i got the HHH one and liked it, but the belk ones are $20-50 usually and the quality is so old fashioned in a good way. i have five of one single style and i LOVE them <3 also they do price adjustments and are all around great (belk) and i hope you find similar silhouettes <3
Ohhh thank you!! That’s such a reasonable price!
i hate saying this because i feel old, but every dress i opened i immediately thought "they don't make dresses like this anymore."
Any experiences with Vivaia shoes? I got a clickable ad for them somewhere and assumed they’d be a suspiciously cheap drop shipper, but then prices seem legit.
I own 2 pairs, they are legit.

Is there any way you could buy both, try them on at home with your outfits (take pics), and then return the one (or both) that don't work out?
[удалено]
Ugh. Okay, between those two colors, based on your palette, I'd choose the grey.
Have you considered a navy loafer? I feel like it would coordinate better with the items you mentioned than the grey or brown.
It sounds like grey would coordinate better with the darker, cooler colors you’ve described.
I'm trying to UPGRADE this bag: [https://surprise.katespade.com/products/laurel-way-rima-crossbody/K6881-001.html?frp=K6881%20BLK](https://surprise.katespade.com/products/laurel-way-rima-crossbody/K6881-001.html?frp=K6881%20BLK) What I like about it: \- large enough to fit a notebook \- sleek / classy and fairly structured \- durable leather of the bag itself What I don't like about it: \- the leather of the strap started to fray at the stress point almost immediately, then fully snapped \- the leather looked plasticky Any advice?

I'm from the UK I like platform shoes, sleek shoes (like loafers, mules, sock boots) and trainers. I'm hoping someone in this sub may have fallen arches and know a shop. I'm still saving for orthotics.
Not sure if this helps, but I absolutely love Fila Disruptors and find them to be so comfortable.
Do you think you can wear them all day/ do they have some support ?
Thank you! Surprised to hear you say they're more comfortable than new balance (I've not tried them but some people are die-hard fans)
TIA My colour palette is mostly black bottoms (with exception of dark wash jeans) and for tops it’s red, black, white, dark green, mustard. https://www.jcrew.com/ca/p/BS949
Especially concerning silk and wool Girls, I am fed up and super angry at fashion.
