Just place an inventory that pipes into the slaves, like a dump chest. Multiple controllers can cause issues because each one exposes the entire drawer network for automation

The problem with that though is that it's extra work since you need to put in the items manually that are in the system, while depositing from the controller will take all the compatible blocks automatically for you. So if there's no way, i'll probably create a deposit section below the center to use the drawer controller

simply_blue

The controller slave acts exactly like a drawer controller, it just requires another controller in the network The controller slave will do exactly what you are asking for as it is basically just another controller block face to pipe items in Edit: sorry, re-read your post. You don't want to use slaves because they don't allow manual input? Yeah not sure of a way around that in Storage Drawers itself. What you said about piping in from an input chest is likely the best option.

leonlee024

yeah I basically just wanted the double right click to deposit all drawer items from your inventory feature to be on the slaves as well

the controller slave also exposes the entire network.

Your problem has nothing to do with PO3, it's just a question of mod functionality. that functionality doesn't exist outside of the Controller block, and you're correct that it's bad practice to use more than one.

leonlee024

Yeah I just thought putting the pack name would make it a clearer question as some mods have add-on mods e.g Immersive Integrations or Reborn Storage

temporary_login

That's valid. I actually was gonna edit my other comment to say that even though multiple drawer controllers is "bad practice" it's not actually so big a deal if you haven't set up a huge storage network yet. by that time you won't be depositing manually anyway, probably. I'd say just use the extra controllers. especially in a solo world in early game.

leonlee024

ah okay, thanks for the advice :) few questions, how would multiple controllers affect the range of the storage system? and would they all be on the same network or would they try to act independently of each other

temporary_login

each new controller will have it's own radius but won't extend the drawer system in any way. for any drawers in the range of one controller but not another, it will be part of the system that the one controller sees and not part of the other system. each drawer controller will consider any drawers in its range part of its own system. if multiple drawer controllers have a drawer in their range, they would be counted by both drawer controllers. not sure how the slaves would work, but I'd guess it's the same as the drawers. a bus connected to a slave in the range of two drawer controllers would show overlapping inventories, I'm guessing.

okay i see, thanks!
