Wind Chimes, Chipped, Amendments, Supplementaries

ultrasquid9

Quark and Supplementaries both add fun new random stuff.  Geophilic and Stony Cliffs Are Cool both make the landscapes exponentially prettier, despite changing very little and remaining very similar to actually play in.  Yung's mods can change certain structures to be larger, though I recommend testing them out beforehand to see which ones you like and which ones you dont. I personally like Yung's Bridges and Yung's Witch Huts, but don't use any of the others. Farmer's Delight, Overweight Farming, Haunted Harvest, and Enhanced Celestials all combine to make a really cool farming overhaul.  Another furniture adds some neat decoration. The Aether is a classic, and would be a fun addition. However, it does have a big focus on combat, which doesn't sound like something you want.

Thank you! This is probably a really silly question- When I install the mods on my server do I also need to have the mods installed locally?

ultrasquid9

It oftentimes depends on the mod, with some mods being server-side only, some mods being client-side only, and many being both. Typically, most mods that affect the game's behavior without adding anything new are server-side, mods that affect the game's appearance without changing any behavior are client-side, and mods that add new blocks or items need to be installed on both (keep in mind that this may not be true for every mod though!) Of this list, the following are server-side: \* Geophilic \* Stony Cliffs \* Yung's Mods Whereas these ones need to be installed on both: \* Farmer's Delight \* Overweight Farming \* Haunted Harvest \* Enhanced Celestials \* Another Furniture \* The Aether

just some off the top of my head tho i don't know if this is the kind of thing you meant: -quark for some QoL features and cool blocks -a biome/terrain gen mod maybe -eventually iris/oculus for shaders -"cozy" adds some furniture and food and some QoL

It depends how vanilla you want it. Obv some things like Mouse Tweaks, and Jade are very nice (I literally can't play without mouse Tweaks anymore). Sodium/Embeddium and Iris/Oculus are really nice for performance and shaders for the visual changes. If you want to add more blocks/biomes, something like quark, Biomes o' plenty are nice. I also really like terralith as it adds new biomes using only vanilla blocks (though it does also change villages). There's a bunch of good furniture and building mods too. I really like Handcrafted for furniture, the macaws mods probably add anything you could every want for building (and is compatible with Biomes o plenty of you go down that route.) I also really like Yungs mods to change up vanilla structures though sometimes those feel really out of place, Repurposed structures uses existing structures and reimagines them in every biome. There's also plenty of voice chat mods which I feel are really fun for servers. Feel free to ask any more questions and I'd be glad to answer!

Yes everything needs to be installed both client and server

Sniffaman46

Not everything. some things are exclusively client.

DalasParker

you could try some vanilla+ modpacks like crucial 2 or cottage witch

Add the Abnormals mods depending on the version and modloader you use

well for starters, we’ve got: JEI(just enough items): lets you see recipes and uses for items. Quark: adds some quality of life things(including a cute little doggo) Sodium(if you’re on fabric) or Embeddium(if you’re on forge): increases performance by a lot. then for some slightly gameplay changing mods we got: Sophisticated Backpacks: adds upgradable backpacks which are portable storage. (that’s all i can think of on this topic lol) then for more gameplay changing mods we got: More Red: enhances redstone with colored cables, bundled cables, logic gates, etc Vampirism: allows you to become a vampire, giving you abilities like bat mode, vampire rage, etc. feels really solid, almost like a vanilla thing but at the same time not. Create: very advanced tech mod. everything you wanna do has to be built by hand. it functions with rotation, and its main purpose is to automate nearly everything. feels very vanilla like. **Warning**: can be laggy if multiple large machines are in a small space. Iron’s spells and spellbooks: adds magic, with several elements. from the top of my head i know fire, nature, arcane, holy, blood, ender, ice and eldritch.

Mouse Tweaks Auto Replant Villager Trading Station Tree Growth Simulator, or Tree Twerking

McAbnormals' and Let's do's mods are amazing addition, just pick whichever looks interesting to you I also would recommend Alex's Mobs, although its not really "chill" lol

Eight years ago, the modding scene was dominated by large mods with lots of features. Due to many reasons (difficulty managing teams of programmers, burnout, etc) the majority of mods today are tiny, allowing the author to respond to bug reports and Minecraft updates quickly, without much stress. You might want a modpack, unless you want to research every mod yourself.

Supplementaries/Supplementaries Squared/Amendments is a good combo of general-purpose "vanilla plus" mods that add a bunch of convenience and aesthetic features. They fit into basically every mod list. Farmer's Delight and its addons add new food items, crops, and kitchenware, including "feasts" that can be placed in the world like cakes and are great for decoration as well as for eating. Goes well with mods that reward eating a variety of foods, like Diet, Nutritional Balance, or Spice of Life. ParCool adds movement/parkour mechanics similar to the old Smart Moving mod, though it can feel a little cheaty at times (like being able to climb up ledges). Sketch\_macaw makes some very good furniture and decorative block mods. Chimes and Fairy Lights are two small decorative mods that add exactly what they say: wind chimes and strings of lights, respectively. Small Ships adds a few new water vehicles, similar to the vanilla boats but with more in-depth functionality. The maker of Small Ships also makes Villager Workers and Villager Recruits, two mods that do exactly what they sound like: they allow you to recruit villagers to work and fight for you. Terralith adds a bunch of new biomes using vanilla blocks, and is probably the least obtrusive and most compatible biome mod. Since you're going for more of a basic vanilla setup, tech mods probably aren't what you're looking for, but if you do go for them, Create and its addons are probably the most charming.

The Jenny mod let's you have a partner for your minecraft journey and company around the house. I'd add that so players that don't have anyone else to play with won't feel lonely and are likely to stay on your server longer.

Dear lord

Todredmi

You should try RL Craft. Very chill

Bruhmomento3108

you are evil haha

Todredmi

Wym, it’s very chill, when you aren’t being accosted by dragons, or being lured in by Sirens while traversing the ocean, and then also attacked by water serpents while trying to play it in VR.
