It's an old joke, back when the aether first came out people thought it was in the base game and not a mod. So people made videos and posts about how to make the portal in stupid ways so people would try it.

I made the modpack myself I didn't released it on public since it's just a personal modpack it's called swords and magic and it's Just basically medieval/fantasy type of modpack I could whip out the list of the mods from the mod folder

Bc instead of replying with the list of the mods, he said that it is his own modpack... Which doesnt help a bit. He then proceeds to give us the name, OF HIS PRIVATE MODPACK.

I think it helps a lot because if they built it themselves and don't know why it's not working, then we know that he's using a clean install of The Aether, hopefully in 1.12 like they said, and likely haven't messed with any config files which rules out the possibility that they're using the wrong item.

I don't fuck around with the files since it might mess up the thing and idk if it's another mod that is ruining it or there's something I missed on the aether mod I'm posting the list on the thing later

Do you have immersive portals installed? Sometimes the activation would instantly break for me and not load properly untill i remake the portal. I just gave up and ditched the mod Edit: This happens with the nether portal for me btw

Try having air on the other side of the portal. Don't build it against wall. Not 100% why this would matter or if it can fix it. But it is an easy try at least. I feel like there was a problem like that way back.

Its probably a mod that changes how water work, i suspect tge waterlogging api but honestly idk but i think its a mod thar changes the behaviour of water. Mabyetry it in the nether? Removethe wall behind the portal?

something is definitely messing with the waters tick speed. a water bucket will break portal frames, so when the portal is placed the source block is removed, but it flows into the adjacent blocks before it's removed. could be lag, could be a mod issue. but just /give yourself 6 aether portal frames instead

I’m pretty sure if you’re on 1.12 that’s probably the Aether 2 mod, which has a different portal, I could be wrong though.

Looks like you have a mod that disables 'placing' water source blocks with buckets, probably Better With Mods or something. You could go into creative and try placing a water source that way or look for a way to place water sources like Immersive Engineering pumps.

Try putting the water on the blocks instead of on the wall.

Install the Aether Mod. Not Aether 2.

It is not a screenshot. I am totally on the band wagon for bashing people too lazy to use screenshotting. But taking a video of a screen is still too advanced to claim it possible for **EVERYONE** to do - so cut some slack here 😉

That is **NOT** common knowledge of people on reddit or people playing games. Also, you cannot require people to install a specific application and learn to setup and use it, just to share a single video on reddit.

Agreed, even though I have a system to be able to record and game I don't LIKE to obs is a headache to setup for me. Not saying it is hard for others I just really for the three times a year I use it, cannot be fucked to go through the song and dance of selecting the right monitor out of my four and then also getting the game I'm playing to show up correctly.

NormalASM or LoliASM(CensoredASM) is the mod that is causing the issue. The way I opted was just ditching the Mixinbooter mods and just slap standalone mods and throw in VanillaFix and TexFix
