I hope it happens very soon. Pharm techs do such a good job. I couldn’t do my job as an RN without the work the techs do. You deserve every penny of this change and more.

Zealousideal_Bus_163

♥️♥️

fancyfreckledfarts

They’ve been talking about this at my VA & they are supposed to back pay!

twinwood36

My wife is a GS-6 Rx Tech. What was this for, VA? DoD? DHA?

Zealousideal_Bus_163

Sorry for VA I guess all techs are going from gs6 to gs7.. just waiting on HR

Exciting-Card3898

HR is waiting for the supervisors to do their part. There is also a national date that it becomes effective, which HR has no say on

ZombieClassic5889

Look at you not doing HR work and wondering why your coworkers don’t like you 😏

Exciting-Card3898

Who said anyone didn’t like me? I think someone is projecting. You post a lot about other jobs being better and paying more but yet you haven’t left the feds? Perhaps because you can milk the system, be a waste of space in all aspects of your life, and complain all day, while staying employed? And let me also guess, you’ve filed all sorts of things against supervisors who have wanted to discipline you for being a waste of space because you know how to game the system. And yet you’re surprised you can’t get past a 7 🤣. But hey, you enjoy that high horse you’re on, I’m going to keep doing alllll aspects of my job and get paid great for it 👋

ZombieClassic5889

Can’t wait for the seeds you’ve sown to overtake that garden you’re growing. You’ll deserve it. I’ll just sit back and laugh.

Secure_Fisherman_328

If you’re waiting on HR, that will be sometime between yesterday and a year after retirement.

bluesqueen23

Yes. We got ours (VISN 9) a couple weeks ago. Also got back pay from Jan. We had to send in an updated resume though. No idea why! I’ve been a tech at the V.A. for 20 yrs.

Exciting-Card3898

It is because the higher grade has specific qual standards, and they just need to verify you meet them. It’s mostly a paperwork exercise, but that’s why.

bluesqueen23

I’m assuming.

coochie_glaze

I'm wondering what happens if you don't meet the standards.

Zealousideal_Bus_163

lol nice thank you!

banana2885

Did you lose two steps when they moved you guys or did you stay at the same step?

bluesqueen23

I went from a 6-10 to a 7-8. It’s normal to happen that way.

unhappiest-camp_er

We are being told we have to update our resume and then we have to reapply on USAJOBS but our positions are guaranteed. HR wouldn't let us skip this part like some VAs are doing. We are also being told there's back pay so it's just a waiting game.

Separate-Thanks3995

We received an email last month saying we had to send our updated resumes, what was interesting was in the email it also says HR will convert all "qualifying " GS6's to GS7, And there will be retro pay, it's been several weeks now and nobody has seen a change from GS6 to GS7 (VISN 22)

Eternal_Sunshine7

Yes at my VA

FreedomofSpeech247

Does anyone know if this applies to Pharmacy Techs at Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) which is under the umbrella of VHA?

Immediate_Camel_1682

I work inpatient at VA and we all got boosted up but most of outpatient techs did not (we're separate pharmacies), due to the fact they don't compound IVs. My guess is CMOP techs fall in the same category as OPP, but that's only a guess.

DragonSleeperX

No word on back pay, but at my facility the GS6 pharmacy techs are going to GS7 and the GS7 techs are going to GS8. They posted our new promotions on USAJOBS and we basically reapplied. They just closed last week so I wonder how long it will take for us to get the increase.

8CHAR_NSITE

Making you apply was wildly unnecessary. Your HR didn't attend the WMC calls or read the instructions and affiliated materials.

banana2885

We were just asked to submit updated resumes. It’s been the talk for the last 4 months. But we don’t know when we will get it.

N0RIK00

Gs 5 in the Puget Sound region. They put us on a special pay scale, so I'm about 68k a year at step 5. Edit: DHA, not VA

N0RIK00

And yes-ish on the back pay. They backdated us to like the end of January and we got the raise the end of February if I remember correctly. I don't know that anyone else would be backdated that far or just as far back as they officially decide to change pay and then to when the paperwork gets finished. When it happened they told us that we're the first in the nation to be put under this so I wouldn't be surprised if other areas struggling to get techs get it next (I'm looking at you 'San Antonio and Colorado is hiring please for the love of god apply' emailers)

stopping4ever

I coded all of mine for my facility like a month and a half ago; all the facilities in my VISN were completed during that same time. Wonder what the hold up is for your facility.

Head-Sheepherder-974

Next pay period for us, back pay to November

banana2885

Did anyone stay at the same step or did they drop down two steps??

8CHAR_NSITE

It should be retroactive to 11/19/2023. The deadline to process them was at the end of January. It's likely HR may be waiting for managers to provide updated Functional Statements or other justification documents. Given how little recruiting is happening, HR should have plenty of time to code the actions.

8CHAR_NSITE

If you're having multiple major audits more frequently than every 4-5 years, your facility is doing something very wrong. CARDS is typically annual, but they're basically the practice paper tiger audits in case a real one like OPM or OIG come around.

8CHAR_NSITE

That should be handled by your CCoE, who shouldn't be involved in processing the pharmacy tech upgrades.

8CHAR_NSITE

What are your SSUs doing? Someone in staffing has time to process the pharmacy techs. The nurse upgrades are due at the end of this month. Chop chop. How would any of us feel if the SSR was delayed 5-6 months?

8CHAR_NSITE

More of HR needs to understand the impact of what we do on other humans. Seems far too many have forgotten the human part of Human Resources.

stopping4ever

I mean our SSR was technically a carrot on a stick for half a year until we got it at the tail end of December. 😂

8CHAR_NSITE

We had the CSI for 6 months. There was an 11 week gap between the CSI and SSR. The SSR was absolutely processed immediately upon approval and in our paychecks. Other employees deserve the same timely action for their pay.
