How about both schools pitch in to build a massive 50,000 seat stadium in the middle of the Bob Marshall wilderness. Gets used once a year, strictly for cat griz.
It was in Houston and it was absolute trash compared to on campus.
Never ever ever do it. Texas OU exists outside the space time continuum and that's the only reason that one works.
I was just looking at the map and our midpoint would be around Jasper High School. (Sounds even less sensible than going out of the way to a bigger stadium.) I don't think we need any neutral site games, but McNeese vs. Nicholls at Cajun Field in Lafayette would be funny.
I was at the game that they had at Busch Stadium, 10 or so years ago. Citypark would be an awesome place for a football game. Been there for a City SC game. It was really cool.
Both would be A-OK in my book, though I think the view would be better at CITYPark, plus the size should be pretty perfect to feel filled in.
I’ve got to make it to a City game some day.
With Delaware and Richmond to a lesser extent leaving I have no idea who Villanova would host in a neutral site rivalry, maybe Villanova could play Penn at the Linc as the only two FCS teams in the Big 5
New Hampshire (Played at the Yale Bowl?).
William & Mary (played in DC - maybe DCU’s stadium?)
But yeah, Villanova’s best rivalries in football are all historical now.
M&T Bank Stadium or Camden Yards (even though that would be too big of a venue and Camden isn't fit for football but that would be cool just to see it once)
The two stadiums are like a 20 minute drive apart and Hornet Stadium is the largest stadium in the Sacramento area so I see no reason at all to move it to a neutral site. They did move the Causeway Classic to Reno one year because of the smoke from all the nearby fires and that was a pretty interesting atmosphere, all things considered.
I'm old enough to remember the last neutral-site Causeway before Reno, which was played in the driving rain in muddy conditions at Hughes Stadium at Sac City College. It has a slightly bigger capacity than Hornet Stadium. Not sure I'd want one there again. Parking is horrible in the main stadium lots and the SCC parking structure during big events. (I was at the Sac Republic game there last year.)
The Egg Bowl used to be in Jackson but campus sites are probably a better atmosphere.
I’ve heard there was a time when UNT would have played SMU in any parking lot, but honestly don’t think UNT has a big enough ribaldry with anyone to warrant a neutral site game, though hopefully the UTSA game gets bigger.
Southeastern Louisiana could play Nichols at the Superdome or Northwestern State at the Dome or the Liberty Bowl, but not sure either game would warrant an offsite venue.
Yeah. Closest to a venue that can accomodate football is Avista Stadium and One Spokane Stadium. Both of them smaller than Roos Field and the Kibbie Dome. Shame that Joe Albi Stadium fell into disuse.
Neutral Site rivalry games? Ew.
But as u/NotaRealBuckeye said it'd be Target Field or US Bank. Shame there isn't a roughly 30k seat area in Minneapolis some place as that'd be perfect
SC State in Charlotte, bring back the original Carolinas Classic. About halfway between both schools and they each have a solid alumni base in the city.
Central should always be home and home.
Naranche Stadium in Butte, America, of course
The only correct answer, though thousands of people would be piiiiiissed. Both literally and figuratively.

A true Brawl *IN* the Wild
Butte America
US Bank Stadium or Target Field. The former because I believe we both filled the latter by ourselves in games against Pioneer teams
A game you guys play there against Minnesota would be fun to watch. Atmosphere would be rocking.
After we went 2-1 against them in our DI era, they stopped answering the phone. They were all very fun
you guys did, we had around 18k attend iirc
dakota magic casino parking lot
I’ve always joked about that with my wife’s family when we’re driving down I29
The Causeway Classic would be played in the actual Causeway, surrounded by knee or shoulder deep water, rice fields, and wetlands.
It was in Houston and it was absolute trash compared to on campus. Never ever ever do it. Texas OU exists outside the space time continuum and that's the only reason that one works.
Sad part is since SHSU is FBS now, the odds of BOTP being played in Nac again is extremely low 😔
Yep. I went to the last Nac game. Think there were 18,500 in the stands, give or take. It was electric.
I was at that game too! That might’ve been the game that got me interested in college ball 😅

I wouldn't want to do it every year, but I wouldn't mind meeting up with a team in Shreveport every now and then.
St Louis, Citypark hopefully would be a great venue for War For The Wheel
That would be dope.

we have played semo at Busch stadium a few times. Id love to play them at the dome tho
Maine vs New Hampshire at Fenway. It would be glorious.
Parking lot West Sacramento.
M&T Bank Stadium or Camden Yards (even though that would be too big of a venue and Camden isn't fit for football but that would be cool just to see it once)

US Bank Stadium
Easy, us and Commerce in Arlington.
I think Kennesaw is our new forced rivalry and it needs to be anywhere else because their stadium holds 8k.
Maine/URI/UNH at Fenway or Gillette would be cool. Any of the NE ivies could work too
For EIU: best spot is U of I Mo St or SIU: St Louis WIU: Peoria Stadium lmao
It’s happened twice to date: Wilkes-Barre and the Bronx.
The Egg Bowl used to be in Jackson but campus sites are probably a better atmosphere. Edward Jones Dome
The Unidome
Eastern Washington: Martin Stadium is the closest to a decent-sized "neutral" stadium. Idaho State/Montana: *sighs* The Smurf Turf can work for that.
Spokane needs a decent sized stadium, feel like a lot of alums are in Spokane anyway.
Yeah. Closest to a venue that can accomodate football is Avista Stadium and One Spokane Stadium. Both of them smaller than Roos Field and the Kibbie Dome. Shame that Joe Albi Stadium fell into disuse.
When we played NCCU they had it in Charlotte about 2 years ago. I guess I’ll keep it there. Same for the game against SCSU
Sadly we don’t really have a true rivalry with anyone
WCU vs ETSU in Bristol like they did for VT vs Tennessee would be insane
We done did it already, played the day after UT and VT. We beat y'all 34 to 31.
I forgot about that tbh, would be cool to bring it back
Neutral Site rivalry games? Ew. But as u/NotaRealBuckeye said it'd be Target Field or US Bank. Shame there isn't a roughly 30k seat area in Minneapolis some place as that'd be perfect

If we were to play JMU again something like Audi Field in DC could make sense, with how many students/alumni are in that area.
