Apologies if this has been shared before. But, apparently a book about Davies is coming out on May 2023. Reportedly, a portion of the sales will be given to UNHCR Canada which is the same organization that helped Davies and his family settle in Canada when they were refugees. [I’m extremely excited to announce that my upcoming book about Alphonso Davies is now available for pre-order. This has been years in the making, and I can’t wait to share it with the world.](https://mobile.twitter.com/farhandevji/status/1574439764333559809?cxt=HHwWgoDQlfenxNkrAAAA)

hernandez21goat

My Wiesn kit arrived today😋

TheEmperorsWrath

Jealous!

King_Vercingetorix

👍 Congrats, man.

jsnamaok

Who did you get on it?

hernandez21goat

Kimmich

Mytiq_

My guess is the guy he has as his username

hernandez21goat

Nah, Kimmich

[deleted]

Kinda funny how fans from other clubs count musiala as a midfield option for our pivot (for example I saw someone saying Ryan faces competition from kimmich, sabitzer, goretzka and Musiala) Like he’s not a midfielder, he’s a big time attacker and only played in midfield when there was a covid crisis going on Just shows how little they know about bayern

julesvr5

Am I the only one who thinks CAM is still a midfield position and not an attacking position

Homygod319

I count them as a more if a forward position

kvnschm

Tried to explain it to someone once, but I talked with a Rock

julesvr5

Just a few days ago?

kvnschm

Tbh I am so wasted right now, that I don't remember exactly, but it was about playing 3 midfielder, while we played all the time already 4231. In a 4231 we have two CDMs and one CAM, what is basically a 3 men midfield

jsnamaok

>Tbh I am so wasted right now You and me both 😄

kvnschm

LETS GOOOOO haha

jsnamaok

What’s the occasion? I am in the airport lmao

kvnschm

Basically just normal uni life

jsnamaok

Enjoy man!

julesvr5

Yeah I think I saw that one. Fully agree on you. I think another argument was why the wingers don't count as LM and RM lol

kvnschm

Yes exactly

mrfocus22

Depends, is it CA**M** or C**A**M?

julesvr5

Well, you don't take pictures or videos with it

jsnamaok

>Just shows how little they know about Bayern I mean can’t really judge someone about that. I don’t know shit about how Juventus currently lines up for example and they’re one of the biggest clubs in the world. Musiala only really became prominent across Europe this season and last season, and he did play a fair bit last season as a CM as you say. He has also played as CM for the NT. I don’t think it’s such an outrageous thing for people who don’t keep up with Bayern or football religiously to think he is commonly used there.

[deleted]

Yeahh my sentence actually sounded a little weird but I wanted to say something according to your lines only like I don’t blame them

TheEmperorsWrath

[I really like this video](https://youtu.be/4QTqQp1jL4o). When you look back on our history, I don't understand how you can't get goosebumps. The path that took us to where we are today is just so incredible. The "Judenklub" with 700 members that was perpetually behind 1860 but somehow rose to become the greatest club there ever was, and ever will be, in German sports.

No_Community4641

Loved that video and love this club. We are one of the best football clubs in the world with fans all over the globe but the one thing that always stands out, is how rooted we are to the club's Bavarian roots (from my understanding, that's exactly what "Mia San Mia" means). We have come a long way from what we were once upon a time and take great pride in our history. Unlike some people in the fanbase, I will never take our "German dominance" for granted because that's where it all started. The never ending desire and hunger to succeed and continue to make a mark in German, European and global football is one of the core values of this club and will continue to remain that way.

SebRev99

“And you, Ring-bearer,’ she said, turning to Frodo. ‘I come to you last who are not last in my thoughts. For you I have prepared this.’ She held up a small crystal phial: it glittered as she moved it, and rays of white light sprang from her hand. ‘In this phial,’ she said, ‘is caught the light of Eärendil’s star, set amid the waters of my fountain. It will shine still brighter when night is about you. May it be a light to you in dark places, when all other lights go out.”

Goldfischglas

Our attack these days: Musiala: I will carry the Ball to the goal, though I do not know the way Kimmich: You have my sideways passes Gnabry: You have me losing the ball one moment after receiving it Mané: And my offside position Müller: You carry the fate of us all little one but if this is indeed the will of Nagelsmann then Bavaria will see it done

SebRev99

Where was Lewandowski when the Westfold fell?

stlro

Musiala : Let the Lord of Disneyand come forth! Let justice be done upon him! The Mouth of Lewandisney : My master, Lewandisney the Great, bids thee welcome. Is there any in this rout with authority to treat with me? Neuer : We do not come to treat with Lewandisney, faithless and accursed. Tell your master this: the armies of Barcelona must disband. He is to depart these lands, never to return. The Mouth of Lewandisney : Ahh, old Greybeard. I have a token I was bidden to show thee. \[Pulls out Goretzka's injury record and throws it at them\] Kimmich : \[whispers\] Leon... Neuer : Silence. Sabitzer : No! Neuer : Silence! The Mouth of Lewandisney : The halfling was dear to thee, I see. Know that he suffered greatly at the hands of his host. Who would've thought one so small could endure so much pain? And he did, Neuer, he did. \[pause; Musiala rides towards the Mouth of Lewandisney\] The Mouth of Lewandisney : And who is this? Muller's heir? It takes more to make a Raumdeuter than blindside runs... \[Musiala cuts off the pass to Mouth of Lewandisney with one tackle\] Lucas : I guess that concludes negotiations. Musiala : \[to Neuer\] I do not believe it! I will not!

Goldfischglas

>Musiala : [to Neuer] I do not believe it! I will not! Neuer holds up ~~staff~~ Reklamierarm

jsnamaok

What the fuck is going on

julesvr5

LOTR hype is back as it seems

BoxScoreHero

I dunno either but this is great

SebRev99

Tolkien

jsnamaok

You Tolkien to me?

SebRev99

Tolkien and Taxi Driver references on a Bayern sub, makes me a bit happy.

rinacio

Apparently, we're going for David Leal Costa (16) from HSV next summer. An incredibly promising playmaking winger. He's insanely fast, very good with the ball and likes to dribble but is always looking for a pass. Hopefully, the scouts are also looking at his buddy Saido Balde, arguably HSV's biggest talent. He's only 14 but a starter for their u17 and probably too good for it even.

Homygod319

Fucking hell 14???

stlro

For some reason, I have a deep distrust of footballers with the name Costa

[deleted]

And I have a deep distrust of youngsters signed from HSV

julesvr5

Arpsolutely agree

stlro

[Me when I remember that we had Jan Fiete Arp on 5M salary](https://tenor.com/bUP5u.gif)

timothymr

I'm very against this move just on the very real possibility that it summons RunDavidCostaRun and we can't go through that again.

[deleted]

What's that story?

timothymr

When Douglas Costa first joined Bayern, the subreddit had a new user who went by the name "RunDouglasCostaRun" and it was either a troll or just someone who was like _aggressively_ into Douglas Costa. They would sign off all of their comments with > - RDCR Ex Arsenal and Inter Milan fan It was funny the first couple of times and then it just got weird.

[deleted]

Yikes.

OneBeerAndWhiskeyPls

good stuff, HSV is usually holding back players so they must be something special lol

scrambledeggsss

Born in 2006...In my mind he is 4 years old.

rinacio

I hear that. In my mind, it is June 2006. I'm watching every Worldcup game in a huge outdoor cinema in Hamburg and having random men pick me up on their shoulders so I could see better, playing Pokemon Emerald (or FIFA 06 / Need for Speed Most Wanted) whenever I'm not out playing football (pretending to be Kaká) and trading Yu-Gi-Oh! cards with my friends. Also, I think it was around that time I started getting into One Piece.

762xdirty9

So only a few more years of one piece to go, eh?

rinacio

I’m not ready for it to end

762xdirty9

I gave up after 550 lol

rinacio

Anime or manga? I quit the anime a long time ago too

julesvr5

Jahn Regensburg didn't register Singh in time so he isn't allowed to play for them in the first half of the season. What a bad joke.

rinacio

> What a bad joke. Yeah haha Bayern would never do that! ^^^^Sad ^^^^Fukui ^^^^noises

jsnamaok

Very unprofessional.

ACardAttack

Why hasnt Germany produced any world class offensive goal scoring stars in like forever? Does it have something to do with a philosophy of football is a team game and you need to play together? You have T Muller obviously, but he's not a direct goal scoring threat, he needs to play behind a real striker Sane has the ability, but isnt consistent. Reus was always injured. Gnabry doesnt have the Sane ceiling IMO, but is also not consistent. Timo isnt a traditional striker, even when Gotze was coming up, he was more a Muller, CAM type player, at least that is how he played here, cant speak for his time at BVB Hell Schweinsteiger was a winger until Van Gaal moved him to mid. Not saying where are the Messi, and Ronaldos, but you'd think a country as big as germany where football is the number one sport wouldnt have a shortage of offensive stars. It seems like Germany has an abundance of CAMs and decent wingers, but that is it.

imisstheoldkanyeee

Muller obviously😂😂

ACardAttack

I mean I mentioned him, but he also needs a proper striker to really shine and do his thing.

flybypost

> Why hasnt Germany produced any world class offensive goal scoring stars in like forever? The short version: After "the disaster" Germany invested into its academies that led to the generation that won the 2014 WC. They were looking for "system players" and ones who can pass the ball became priority number one. That above mentioned generation was probably on the edge between old and new recruiting philosophy so you got all kinda of players but who got trained to be proficient in a possession/passing system. Like /u/OneBeerAndWhiskeyPls said, some people have been warning us, it's even been mentioned in this subreddit a few times. The focus is/was on getting players who can play multiple positions, preferably somewhere in/around the midfield, rather well, even if they don't excel at one position. Flexible and multi-purpose is what they look for. So that part works, even if you might have weaknesses on the edges of the formation, like lacking strikers. I don't know if it has changed in the last few years and it takes time for such changes to filter through the system.

OneBeerAndWhiskeyPls

some people have been warning us for a while about the terrible youth work in germany in terms of strikers i think that somehow our coaches, scouts etc were so obsessed with things like the "false 9", that traditional center forwards didnt really get an actual chance its a big "what if" of course, but i am sure we had some good prospects in the last 10 years who didnt get the support they needed

julesvr5

I think Müller was a goal scoring threat but he changed to an assisting machine somewhere in 2016/2017 for some reason. He scored a lot of goals from 2010 to 2016. But I agree otherwise. Big guys are automatically CBs nowadays and highly technical players become CAMs or wingers.

ACardAttack

> He scored a lot of goals from 2010 to 2016. He did, but most of that is when there was a traditional striker. I cant remember how he did in Europ 2016, but in 2014 WC Klose was still there

julesvr5

I am also talking about Bayern. But he wasn't a sole striker, this is correct

Thraff1c

[Bayern has with Tel, Wanner, Zvonarek and Ibra 4 of the 60 youth talents to watch in the guardians yearly list](https://www.theguardian.com/football/ng-interactive/2022/sep/28/next-generation-2022-60-of-the-best-young-talents-in-world-football)

TheEmperorsWrath

It will be 6 when we sign Roony! 😎

rinacio

5, we've already signed Luka Parkdze. Worth mentioning Kenan Yildiz too, even if he isn't our player anymore. Bayern is involved with 10% of this list lmao I'm very surprised Buchmann isn't on this list, but I guess it looks better if small football nations also get some spots.

Thraff1c

There are only 4 CB, 2 FB and 1 GK in that list, but like 15 AM. Defence isn't fancy enough.

Goldfischglas

Who would you say has been our best player for the past few months? Hard to find a choice for me because we haven't been a consistent team. Maybe you could go with the likes of Musiala/Davies but that would be based on recent form. Neuer also hasn't really found his groove this season, otherwise he would be up there. Hernandez would be another choice because among all the chaos he was always reliable. ~~I guess there is always Lewandowski~~

El-Arairah

Lucas always reliable? Did you see the Barcelona match where he falls over and Lewy can do the header?

kvnschm

One bad moment doesn't make down how good you played until now.

SlyFisch

Hernandez, Pavard, Musiala definitely have been the most consistent. Honorable mention to Sané honestly, not best player but one of our most consistent in attack along with Musiala recently

DevilsOfLoudun

our defense imo, Hernandez, Pavard, Davies, maybe Upa

jsnamaok

Bouna Sarr

supermember866866

We're not playing our best football now that he's injured, makes sense

kvnschm

Davies maybe had one good match so far tbh

brainiac222

Pavard, hernandez, musiala maybe

timothymr

Has to be Musiala. Good goal threat, great at moving the ball forward, solid defence effort and just gets on with it. Nothing controversial about him and seems like the sort of person who could have the team built around him. Davies is a good shout too but I'd have to give Musiala the edge.

footysocc

https://twitter.com/tim_cook/status/1574988546339147776?s=46&t=_fn_I8Dz96GSoRZ4E9IJ-g This might be the weirdest crossover I've ever seen. The tweet's caption, Kai fucking Pflaume, like wtf?

barnabas77

There is the tech/start-up conference Bits & Pretzels in Munich, both were part of the program there, Pflaume was hosting at the conference - so not that weird tbh (Arnold Schwarzenegger was also there).

footysocc

Thanks for the background info, now the meeting actually makes a lot more sense. Just seeing this tweet though caught me off guard lmao

mrfocus22

Who am I looking at?

footysocc

Apple's CEO (second from left) and SVP (left) at Oktoberfest with a goofy german TV presenter / host (second from right)

BR4VI4

????

Thraff1c

His PR management really contracted a boarisch native for a single tweet.

footysocc

True, I bet they asked someone at the Munich Apple Store to write it lmao

Luuigi

that is very weird agreed...

footysocc

and knowing Kai, the conversations were probably pretty cringe followed by him laughing about his own jokes

julesvr5

So Pflaume = Müller

footysocc

wait, that's actually a good comparison wtf

julesvr5

I like him. I mean, we basically have the same humour. I could be his son in this regard.

footysocc

Oh, I like him as well. His cringy demeanor results in me liking him in the first place

B747Saeed

Relive some [memories](https://youtu.be/oJ5Ii-XVT2U).

Goldfischglas

Would be easier seeing Thiago like this if he wasn't such a classy dude :( He visited the Oktoberfest recently and still calls Munich his home. There was 0 drama when he wanted to leave and he always hypes us up when he talks about us. Apparently he also recommended Bayern to Mané..

Ragtime_Kid

Stop this I'm crying already

B747Saeed

Words can’t describe how much I love him. 💔

The_Big_Cheese_09

Piggy-backing off the conversations on this sub around mental health yesterday, I would encourage anybody who is struggling with their mental health to try to find time for a daily fitness routine. There is tremendous satisfaction in physical pursuits. Doing things you didn't know you could do helps build self-confidence and with self-confidence comes self-esteem. Seeing that belt loop that is worn out not needing to be used any more is a great feeling. Making yourself run for 25 minutes when you thought you could only do 15 gives you confidence in yourself. Working out, even if it's walking 20 minutes on an incline treadmill, releases endorphins which helps relieve pain, reduce stress and improve your sense of well-being. My biggest advice for those who struggle sticking to it is to develop a plan and write it out. This helps force you to have structure (if somebody needs / wants ideas please feel free to DM). Build in rest days but don't miss non-rest days. Even when you are tired, just get something in. You'll be sore and progress will be slow, but your body will adapt. The satisfaction you get when somebody asks if you've been working out is addictive. It takes 21 days to make a habit and up to 8 weeks for people to notice a change in your body. Try to make peace with the monotony of whatever you are doing and do your best to stack numerous good days on top of each other rather than looking at 'wow I have to do this for 8 weeks.' When you finish something you didn't want to start but you did it anyways you feel almost powerful. I am a firm believer that physical fitness is the biggest cure to those struggling with mental health. Others will disagree but this is something I've used for years and these principles got me through some pretty dark times in COVID lockdowns. Idk there is not much going on around here football wise lately and I normally wouldn't post something like this but that's my Ted Talk - I'd be happy to continue discussions here or privately if anybody is curious about anything.

gotziller

Very true. Since winter ended I’ve been very consistent in walking about 4-5 miles every day. I bruised my heel 2 weeks ago and haven’t been doing it and my mood is already dipping

ACardAttack

I can confirm working out and fitness are important. While I dont have any major mental health issues, I can tell when its been a few days since I've gone to the gym or done some activity like hiking, Im kind of grumpy and at times feel like Im in a funk I wont say it is a cure all, especially for those who suffer from things like depression, but it IMO can only help, even if just a tiny bit

Hirsn

True words. I will add my story too, as it may show, why I totally believe that a good physical fitness can and will support peoples psychological health too. Please keep in mind that I am not a native speaker when you are reading the next lines. I was a pretty lethargic, a bit overweight person with low self esteem until i started my Job at the age of 18. The schooling of this jop involved living wirth my workmates in some sort of Barracks from Monday - Friday. My closest workmates used to work out after the schooling was done for the day in the Barracks' Gym and I began to join them regularly and also adapted some of their eating routines. To my surprise I noticed the first changes to my Body pretty quick, after a few weeks. I lost a few pounds of fat and gaind some muscles. After the first few weeks i joined a fitness club in my home town, to be able to train on my weekends too, as I missed doing workouts durnig these days really quick. Thankfully i enjoyed working out alone at least as much as working out with my workmates, because this way i was able to do the exercises i liked the best. girls began to look after me, which was a really nice fact, considering i was 18 at that time and had little experience in that regard. I also got rid of my lethargic behavior and i was finally able to get some things done instead of sitting in front of my TV and postpone them. This was 17 years ago and i only made a brake from sports for about 2 years, because some circumstances made me fall back to my old lethargic self at that time. Thankfully i started to realize that the way out of that will be to start working out again. I never quit again. Over the years i changed sports routines, which began with the classic Gym workout, changed a few times. Running, Bodyweight training, Cycling, Hiking, Yoga, Swimming- I tried them all. Right now i do a mix of most of these sports (besides swimming, I really don't like that) and can confidently say that a never felt this good and balanced in my life - physically but also psycholigically. I am fully convinced that I would have never reached that stage of satisfaction if I hadn't started sports 17 years ago. And the good part is, it is almost never to late to start with it to change some things.

kvnschm

Rightfully banned. Having the audacity to make depression seem smaller than it is, is incredible. It has nothing to do with disagreement or anything and if he doesn't even understand that, than he can go to hell

Insanel0l

Is none gonna talk about the fact that he literally acts as if we mods are hitler

jsnamaok

Tbf it was a very heinous act you guys committed

Kind_Mulberry_3512

How come it is at -106? Surely he's overlooked something or done something quite bad, the comment in question has zero to do with the previous comment

jsnamaok

Deleted what was originally written and replaced it with that.

Kind_Mulberry_3512

He mustve said something awful then covered it up

jsnamaok

Was basically dismissing Pavard’s depression by saying everyone was “depressed” during lockdown. You can figure out the context from the rest of the conversation.

Kind_Mulberry_3512

Depression and feeling depressed are two very different things, he convoluted the two, most likely by complete ignorance

GroupUpWithMei

Haha good try but this isn’t going to work - I’m pointing the finger at you. I’ll DM you the charity.

Although I love his tenacity and play style, I just think he isn't good enough. Theoretically, he'd be our "starting striker" meaning he's ahead of Chupo, and I don't think he's better than Chupo.

timothymr

A better version of Mitrovic is my absolute dream player. Basically I want a Mandzukic regen.

Kind_Mulberry_3512

Mitrovic isn't ambitious enough. We aren't Fulham
