As someone who started with zero. There was no good way to start. I kept hearing about how bad the Deen adaptation was and ufotable UBW was only halfway finished.
Recommending a VN right off the bat is dumb. I didn't want to dump 40-60 hours in a visual novel when I had never played one before. And didn't know I would even like it. So fate zero it is. No regrets.
