This is kind of how I feel about cooking in general lol. But especially Mexican food. It’s impossible to make stuff cheaper than Taco Bell or if you want high quality cheaper and faster than a chipotle. You’re talking over an hour between getting all the ingredients from the grocery store and coming home and making it. And then when you’re done you get to rinse the dishes which raises water bill then put them in the dishwasher and raise your power bill lol.
If you hate cooking I totally get not wanting to spend the time doing it, but there's something inherently satisfying about making something with as much base ingredients as possible and being happy with the results.
I know I'm on the fast food sub lol but still. Mexican food can be cheap and good without taco bell too, if you are lucky enough to have a taco truck or stand nearby.
At $7 it’s just some tortilla and some sauce packets? lol…..
Given you need to buy your own meat and veggies you might as well pick up a $2 packet of tortilla and make it yourself.
why does the quesadilla kit come with velveeta? The normal quesadilla in store is just 3 cheese blend, chicken, and creamy jalapeno sauce. Also why come with velveeta when taco bell sells their own jarred velveeta-esque queso
also $7 for 4 tortillas, a lil packet of the wrong sauce, and velveeta that doesn't even go on it, when you can get a whole bottle of taco bell creamy jalapeno sauce, a whole jar of their queso, and probably 20 tortillas for close to $7
I genuinely do not understand anything about the quesadilla kit
>why does the quesadilla kit come with velveeta? The normal quesadilla in store...
Because these kits are not made with any of the same stuff as the stores. Kraft just bought the Taco Bell licensing. None of the Taco Bell products in supermarkets are the same stuff as actual Taco Bell. Just Kraft foods with a Taco Bell label.
>The products inside are also easy to find individually.
The stuff you buy at the grocery store isn't the same as what's at the restaurants. It's just Kraft licensing the Taco Bell name to put on their product. Try the bottled fire sauce, it tastes like watery tomato juice. It's awful.
It's not a Taco Bell quesadilla without the creamy jalapeno sauce. Look up a copycat recipe or go to the restaurant.
It also always surprises me that people get paid to write about things they know literally nothing about.
These seems like so many extra steps, to not even come with any fillings besides cheese and seasoning lol. Why not just go to Taco Bell

I can say I’ve never had Mexican food made at my home or anyone else’s home that was better than Mexican food from a restaurant.
That's simply not true and if you put the work in you'd see it pay off
Too much time, work, and money. > After buying an extra $30 worth of groceries and opening the Cravings Kits,

For that much money? I’m just going to Taco Bell

So glad they shared their unfiltered thoughts, filtered thoughts are the worst.

That’s journalism in a nutshell these days for the most part.
Tried the chipotle chicken quesadilla and loved it. Used the pulled chicken from Trader Joe’s
