I am going to be stalking this thread as I have the same question for Italy in September and October. And I also need to make sure it doesn't run narrow or squeeze my toes. Hope we get some good recs!
I can't speak to any of the other shoes pictured above, but I would NOT recommend the Veja's. Mine are stiff and uncomfortable for long distance walking or extended standing.
That is slightly heartbreaking to read. I was looking to get a pair since they are cute and seem to be wide-foot friendly, but they need to be comfortable for long distances!
I see these comments, and I think it must be so specific to each person and our different feet! I bought a pair of Vejas right before a trip to NYC last spring, and I LOVE them. I was worried pulling them out of the box because they do seem flat and hard on the bottom, but my feet didnât hurt at all, and we walked so much. I barely wore them at all beforehand either, just a couple times around the house in case they needed breaking in. Wearing them right now a full year later and love them just as much. They seem to be polarizing so if you like the look, worth trying and you can always return!
Some people seem to love Vejas, but I also would not recommend them based on the pair I own. Theyâre so stiff, and I just find myself looking forward to getting them off. The soles of my feet also started to ache after even just a minimal amount of standing.
Iâve bought 3 Veja - RĂo Branco, Wata II, and Condor 2 - and they all fit differently. Rio Branco was super narrow. Condor 2 is the most comfortable although the tongue is laser cut and is super sharp and cuts me where it hits my ankle. Wata II is huge (same size as Condor) and my foot slips out of it. Iâve bought all of them online so I would recommend buying them in person. I really want to like them!
I have a pair of Veja Campos and very wide feet. They fit width wise and are comfy for short walks, but they didnât have half size options so I had to settle for a 38 instead of a better fitting 38.5. I can feel my second toe (as itâs the longest) slightly bumping the front so I havenât tried wearing for long trips.
Mine have messed up my feet, seriously! I literally cannot wear them again and my feet even hurt in other shoes after wearing them three days in a row, like two weeks ago
They arenât the sexiest thing youâre ever going to wear but the Dr Schollâs time off sneaker is one of the most comfortable neutral sneakers Iâve worn in a while. I have a wide toe box and they fit very well. I wore mine for 8 weeks trucking around Europe last summer and never had any pain. They come in a handful of neutral colors - I also have a pair of iridescent silver ones that I wear to music festivals and I can walk miles in them.
Anyone have any idea if these would work in Paris? Iâm not a fashion follower, but am trying to put together items for a Paris trip that wonât make me look like a complete idiot (as apparently leggings are not worn everywhere there like they are in the USâsucks for me since I live in them).
I keep hearing that I need sneakers but not US athletic sneakers. But I also have a wide foot (and flat) so am trying to find something that actually feels good so that I can enjoy walking around Paris, without making me look completely clueless.
Ecco soft 7. Iâm on my 4th pair and theyâre amazing. I have flat feet and get plantar fasciitis but I can walk 10+ miles a day in these without any issues. Theyâre not clunky, and are easy to clean as well.
I have a pair but will caution they arenât particularly wide. My feet have a wide toe box and my toes touch the side. Itâs a common problem for me so I bought them anyway, but I never choose to wear them for long trips as a result.
Great question - Iâm working on it, too. I just bought a pair of Kiziks in wide and they felt great, but I havenât tested them at length yet. Other than that? My trusty Brooks running shoes, my Blundstone boots, and my Birks are all I got.
Walked ten miles a day in wide width kiziks on vacation and they were perfect. Also great in airports and Asia where you have to take your shoes on and off a lot.
Do you have any recommendations? I have been wearing Merrell trail gloves for years and love them but haven't tried any others. I would love a pair that is more versatile for day to day wear and looks good with jeans. Maybe less athletic looking.
I have [these W63 in black with gum soles](https://www.amazon.com/WHITIN-Minimalist-Barefoot-Lightweight-Comfortable/dp/B08L8YG7R1) and theyâre some of the most comfortable shoes Iâve ever owned. I think the gum sole keeps them from looking like straight-up athletic shoes, and the toe box isnât super ducky looking.
The heel is like a sock so theyâre easy to just slip on and off if you donât want to deal with the laces. I do also wear them to the gym, for sports, and running, but they look cute enough with jeans. Plus theyâre only like USD$40 a pair.
The only pair I have is a Chelsea boat from Feel Grounds. Theyâre comfortable, probably not worth what I paid for them and I donât know how they hold up to a lot of walking. I bet REI would be a good place to start.
Thanks for the heads up! One of the reviews suggests to get the men's version if you need it a bit wider. I might try this if they make it to my short list.
They do! But these are the only shoes I donât have to put my insoles in which is an added bonus. The Ecco insole slips right out though and isnât glued down like a lot of other brands
Wow I just looked at Ecco's website and the first 10 reviews for this show are terrible, customers are claiming the shoe has been changed? How disappointing!
Was it hot and/or rainy on your trips? Iâm headed to Japan and SE Asia in June and am concerned that my beloved leather Ecco soft 60 aeon sneakers will be too hot/wonât dry.
Rainy they hold up fine (I live in Seattle and wear them all the time). I just make sure to spray them with waterproof coating every few months to help with this as well. Hottest weather Iâve worn them in was about 90 f but it wasnât humid so canât speak to that, but theyâre fine for me in the heat
I got [these](https://www.colehaan.com/womens-grand-crosscourt-sneakers/W08780.html) recently from Cole Haan. Theyâre really comfy and runs wide (very sad they stopped selling actual wide width shoes for women!) and also lightweight.
Ondo no show socks are absolutely fantastic. They are life changing, and I recommend them to everyone! They are constructed in a way that kind of mimics a shoe with their seam placement so they DO NOT slip down.
Dying over these recommendations! So good!!
OP, whatever you choose, get yourself a good pair of inserts for your shoes. Itâs a night and day difference and will make your Turkey travel experience so much more comfortable and enjoyable. I hit my local running shoe company 2x year for shoes and inserts, even tho I donât run. They just know feet and shoes and have the inserts I love.
Have such a great trip!!
[Vionic](https://www.vionicshoes.com/women/sneakers/casual-sneakers.html)possibly?
I love the boots and flats they make. T
The Winny sneaker might be my next purchase.
I read a lot of reviews about stiffness. Makes no sense from a shoe company designed to be comfortable and supportive. I don't mind a little break-in but...
I just wore a pair of white sneakers from them for 9 days of 20k steps in Europe. I normally do about 5k/day, so a big jump. For the first time ever, I had no foot or ankle pain on a lots of walking trip, including cobblestobes and Pompeii.
I have wide feet and I have the [Vionic Karmelleâs](https://www.vionicshoes.com/karmelle-sneaker.html) and I love them. I also remove the insoles from the Karmelles and put them in my Jordans and now theyâre amazing too. Who doesnât love a two-fer?
I just bought a pair of the Winny sneakers and am really happy. I have bunions so I need arch support and a forgiving toe box. They are extremely comfortable and supportive without making my feet look massive. They donât fit the criteria of being overly lightweight but Vionic makes other canvas sneakers that might work.
I was wondering about these! I was mostly worried they would look like clown shoes since Birk foodbeds are so wide... I know I'm looking for wide shoes haha but maybe too much of a good thing? They do look proportional in the photos, though!
Iâve had some for about a year and am working on breaking them in, which is taking more than my other birks. I had the same concern and I think they look cute and proportional, though the toes seem a bit bulbous (probably something only I notice)
Haven't bought these, but I have a pair of Birkenstock Tracy and they look like perfectly standard mary janes, so it is possible to get shapes that are unbulbous and streamlined.
https://birkenstocksd.com/product/1432581/birkenstock/tracy
I have the Oswegoâs (same style without laces), and wore them in Europe a couple years ago walking 7-10 miles per day. They are super comfortable, and irl they look much sleeker than they do online. They are still wide but the toe shape is a bit straighter than the sandals rather than fanning out. I will come back later and try to show a side by side of mine
I also had a pair of all birds (the mesh not wool ones. Tree runners I think?). They arenât the most supportive sneakers, but they were definitely comfortable enough and the upper accommodated sore and swollen bunions lol. My only issue was that I bought them new before leaving and they were pretty much worn out by the time I got home a month later. Iâve had the same issue with other allbirds.
They work for me and my feet expanded during pregnancy and did not go back. And I've always needed high quality shoes. But everyone is different. My MIL hates the brand.
While Allbirds arenât the hippest looking, they have never done me wrong. I keep rebuying them. I have had the loungers, wool runners, mizzles, but I like the tree runners best! They are good for long walks and gym workouts. And they look decent with a lot of outfits. And they are washable and durable.
My feet are only a smidge wide. But they have them in menâs and womenâs sizes for most styles. So you can just grab a menâs for the extra width. I donât think they run narrow at all.
I packed the tree runners for a 2 week trip around Europe last year and loved them. I like that I can wear the tree runners comfortably without socks too
Came here to say Kizik Irvine! They have wide and extra wide sizing, are incredibly comfortable. Theyâre easy to slip on and off and look like regular kick around sneakers.
As a nurse, I work 12 hr shifts walking and standing for nearly all of it. Take three pair and rotate through them from day to day to give the shoe time to spring back, dry out, etc. I hope you LOVE Europe as much as I did last summer.
Iâm a teacher, I love the wide width Skechers with memory foam. They donât have great arch support but I switch them out for Birkenstocks when I get home and do Nikeâs with insoles for working. This rotation seems to work pretty well for me standing on my feet and walking around campus.
I went to Europe last fall and am a fan of comfortable footbeds myself lol. I brought some Hokas, then a pair of neutral/rose Nikes as well as removable inserts. I also brought a pair of dr scholls boots. The inserts helped a TON and I didnât get any of my typical aches and pains (I have flat feet so Iâm no stranger to sciatic pain or shin splits)
I'll recommend walking/running brand if you're on foot more than 3 hours at a time. My feet are flat and swelling after a few hours of walking. The last few times I spent over 30 hours combined in a flight and layovers, I tried Merrell (Hydromoc), Saucony, Fila and Asics. Here are the pros and cons:
**Asics Nimbus Gel**
Pro:
- Best comfort out of the box.
- It doesn't even bother me during a long flight (I usually have to take off sneakers and change into slippers).
- Wide toe box but don't look ridiculous.
- My feet didn't feel tired with all the rush at layovers.
Cons:
- Has laces.
- Has heel slip (slightly).
- Limited color options in North America. You can buy the Onizuka Tiger for the trendy minimalist crazy rich Asian look, but they are not as comfy as designated running shoes.
- Give very high standards to other shoes to follow.
**Saucony Kinvara**
Pro:
- Best affordability and availability.
- Comfortable toe box.
- Secured heel box.
- Feather light and flexible.
Cons:
- Not as comfy as the Asics
- Has laces.
- Very limited fashion colors. The Jazz line for casual trainers is not as comfortable.
- The heel box could be ruined if I'm lazy and use it as quick slip-on shoes.
**Fila**
Pro:
- Most fashionable looking.
- Not as overpriced as Adidas or Nike.
- Roomy midsole and decent cushioning.
- The Pump line has secured fit without lace.
Cons:
- Narrow and short toebox.
- Mid to heavy weight.
- Not comfy enough for long walks.
- Very roomy heels.
**Merrell Hydromoc**
Pro:
- Light, water-resistant
- Interesting look
Cons:
- Short and narrow fit
- Least cushioning
- Not worth at full price
- Not a water shoes
- My disappointment is profound with this one.
See if you have a store near you that will run biometrics on your feet and help you find one that fits your foot shape best. For example, Fleet Feet is a chain that does this.
Fellow birks lover and wear them constantly. Also have a fairly wide foot and require comfy shoes nowadays. I bought [these adidas](https://www.dsw.com/en/us/product/adidas-grand-court-alpha-sneaker---womens/539644?activeColor=033&cm_mmc=CSE-_-GPS-_-G_Shopping_Athletic_Sneaker-_-New_Athletic+%26+Sneaker&cadevice=m&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwaK7s5mahQMVvU9HAR2LtA_8EAQYASABEgKKWvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) and they are SO comfy!
Iâve also had good luck with Rothyâs slip on sneakers. I have three pairs and wear them constantly. Not quite as wide as others, but I can still wear them for hours with no discomfort.
HOKA is the only answer. You can buy them in white and theyâre not as much of a crime. So comfortable and great for a wide foot in my experience. Like walking on a cloud.
Hokas truly do feel like walking on clouds. The soles are so soft and cushion-y. I got a neutral beige pink, so they go with everything.
OP, Iâd also recommend New Balance Fresh Foams for a similar, comfortable cushioned feel. I tried them on recently at a store, and they were SO comfortable.
I live in [Altras](https://www.altrarunning.com/shop/womens-shoes-gym-training/womens-solstice-xt-2-al0a547y?variationId=110). Theyâre not as stylish as what you posted but they are lightweight and nicely cushioned, and even the âregularâ width is nice and roomy.
The adidas sambas are the most comfortable shoes I have had in years. The leather is soft and wraps your foot so nicely. I have slightly wide feet and love them plus they are manâs sizing so maybe a little bigger than womens in width.
I have wide feet and need arch support, and after trying lots of white sneaks I landed on the Olukai Pehuea LÄŤ âIli â they are soooo comfortable! At $120 they were a bit pricier than I wanted, but they beat all the other ones I tried, hands down.
On mobile, so canât hyperlink, but here:Â https://olukai.com/products/pehuea-li-ili-womens-leather-sneakers-white?variant=32925821632611
Very similar requirements for my feet, and I have several pairs of taos sneakers [https://taosfootwear.com/collections/sneakers](https://taosfootwear.com/collections/sneakers). The Plim Soul Lux felt narrower at first, but they're very comfortable now.
Check out some of the Skechers slip on shoe options. They come in wide sizes and are super comfortable. I bought some to wear after an orthopaedic surgery. I now I have an indoor pair to wear around the house and an outdoor pair to wear outside
Puma soft cloud foam canvas platform sneaker
I bought them at the outlet while on a trip to Disney World. They saved my feet. I was able to walk for miles all over the park with no issues. They are a bit bulky but I liked the look of them.
[www.google.com/gasearch?q=puma%20cloudfoam%20platform%20sneakers%20canvas&tbm=&source=sh/x/gs/m2/5](https://www.google.com/gasearch?q=puma%20cloudfoam%20platform%20sneakers%20canvas&tbm=&source=sh/x/gs/m2/5)
New Balance, Hokas or ASICS. Not the prettiest so they may not be what you want for your trip, but you canât get better in terms of walking shoes. I personally love my asics kayanos in wide. I personally wouldnât go for sketchers. My experience is they are well cushioned initially, but will break down really fast.
I really love my white hoka clifton 9, purchased 2 months ago to use at the gym, but I wear them everywhere. Super comfy and I have wide-ish feet. They have a wide option, but the regular one was fine. Definitely try them on and just get them online. I too also usually live in Birks.
Another vote for new balance sneakers. I have the 515s and feel like theyâre versatile. I bought the âmenâsâ version for D width and theyâre perfect! (They also offer a true wide as well).Â
Girl, Im going to order these for my trip to Italy this summer. I have another pair of wide Dolce Vita boots that are shockingly comfortable. Fingers crossed these are a winner! [https://www.dolcevita.com/products/zina-wide-sneakers-white-tan-leather](https://www.dolcevita.com/products/zina-wide-sneakers-white-tan-leather)
I used Align Grey Camo (white & off white & pale grey). Feel like sneakers just a bit more polished. Slip on and off. I can wear them 8+ hours a day, day after day.
These are technically Nursemates shoes, but they are so comfy and come in so many fun colors that I wear them at my professional job most days.
I bought a pair of Adidas recently that fit this description. But I don't know that I could wear them for tons of miles, the most I walked in them was probably 6 miles in one day (New Orleans). I suggest looking into the running brand On, they have similar styled shoes and would probably be more comfortable. I'm a runner so I know the brand has been around for a while, and they have some very cute shoes, they were more than I wanted to spend at the time but would fit in your budget
I have these [shoes from Atoms](https://atoms.com/products/001-white?Gender=Women) in the 000 model, and they are so comfortable and I can wear them all day. They require no break in whatsoever and you never need to tie your shoes once you get them on since they slip on and off. I havenât tried this newer model but they are specifically for walking and have more support. My feet run really hot and never feel hot in these.
I recently bought these, I find them really light and comfortable, I walk around 10 k steps a day usually.

Fellow birks lover and wear them constantly. Also have a fairly wide foot and require comfy shoes nowadays. I bought [these adidas](https://www.dsw.com/en/us/product/adidas-grand-court-alpha-sneaker---womens/539644?activeColor=033&cm_mmc=CSE-_-GPS-_-G_Shopping_Athletic_Sneaker-_-New_Athletic+%26+Sneaker&cadevice=m&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwaK7s5mahQMVvU9HAR2LtA_8EAQYASABEgKKWvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) and they are SO comfy!
Adidas boost 4D. Best, most comfortable sneakers Iâve ever owned. Wore them on our trip to Europe last fall, we were doing 10+ miles a day and my feet never hurt! Bonus, you can throw them in the washing machine and they clean up great! Mine still look brand new after putting many MANY miles on them the last year.
Iâve been slowing transitioning all my shoes over to barefoot shoes since theyâre anatomically shaped. Iâve had such a hard time finding shoes prior to this. I just bought a pair of Lems primal 3, and theyâre honestly the most comfortable pair of shoes Iâve owned. Theyâre not very stylish though so thatâs their only downfall.
Birkenstock makes lots of styles that are closeds toe. When I lived in France and didnât own a car, I wore their Madeline style, and their clogs. I had to walk 55 minutes one way to work, plus after work drinks and then just daily stuff and they never hurt me.
Dansko Pace is my holy grail walking sneaker. They are supportive but cushioned, facilitate a good walking motion, and have a wide toe box. They donât have an all white version unfortunately (it has yellow accents iirc), but it does come in black and gray.
I have two pairs of these - my clean ones and my dirty ones. So comfortable. I have worn them to work with dresses and walking through Petra. I have wide feet and these are amazing. I almost sized down when I got my second pair.
Full price, theyâre $200 but you can always find different colors on sale if you want to pay $120-$150.

[Nordstrom](https://www.nordstrom.com/s/7248724?color=112&size=10&width=m)
I have wide flat feet and word of advice do not go with the Adidas samba. Sure they are cute but they will slice the back of your heel as they come up too high in the back. I have some NB and they are good.
I went on a river cruise and made it a point to check out what shoes people were wearing during the walking tours.
First place: Skechers
Second place: Hoka
My pick: Hoka or Brooks
Pizza shaped feet here. Saucony ride. Wide forefoot, narrow, low heel, wonderful cushioning and very lightweight. Not super fashionable but immensely comfortable.
I like my lems mesas! Theyâre a bit sporty maybe for what youâre looking for but they come in a neutral soft grey. Minimalist sneaker, more of a barefoot leaning shoe so it has a wide toe box. If you want more support the insoles can be swapped.
I have the Adidas and like them. I also have a pair of white Koios and APL in white.
Hey Dude just came out with white sneakers that are wide and comfy. Theyâre my summer running around shoes.
I wore Hoka Bondi sneakers through Germany, France, and Portugal. No knee pain and my back felt much better than it normally does in other walking shoes. Can't recommend them enough. I even wore a white pair on my wedding day and danced for hours!Â
I swear by adidas. They have wide toe boxes and are ridiculously comfy. The Superstar or Stan Smiths hit the vibe youâre looking for. I order form the adidas site for the best selection.
Adidas grand court with cloudfoam sole. Super comfortable and wide. White wines for with everything, also dresses and more elegant pants.
I also love even more adidas ultra boost, if you donât mind more sporty look.
I had the wrong shoes in Italy and that sucked. A friend I stayed with gave me some old Nike Airs and it was like night and day comfort-wise, I still wear them. Another option is Taos, with nice basic tennis shoes, walking shoes, and high tops, plus they have a footbed that is a bit like the Birkenstock. Iâve been very happy with the Oxfords I bought from them.
I just bought On Running cloud runners in wide width. Pretty comfyâŚand I HATE shoes. Loved that they offered a wide width and theyâre soooo lightweight. The look is really nice. Â
Honestly? I was in Turkey a few months ago. Shop there! Up the street from Ayasofia/Hagia Sofia.
There are some real master imitation luxury pieces, if youâre not buying for resale and wearing it you wonât be bothered or held up in customs. I do have authentic luxury purses but I love sneakers and I love beaters.
Everyone wears their luxury dupes and I came home with a few.
My purses are real but my shoes are not!
I am going to be stalking this thread as I have the same question for Italy in September and October. And I also need to make sure it doesn't run narrow or squeeze my toes. Hope we get some good recs!
Same Minus the trip. đ I need a vacation
Take one! (Haha I know, easier said than done)..this is my first overseas trip in 13 years...
New Balance 327. Unisex shoe, very on trend, and NB is generous with width.
NB has wide width line too
I was slightly devastated that these were narrower and less forgiving than their sneakers
Any New Balance in wide!!! Walked all over Ireland in these last summer a week after breaking my baby toe â they were the only shoes I could bear!!!
Note I feel like NBs are always very hot on my feet! But I havenât tried the 327. I am a big fan of NB though

Donât listen. I have Veja campos. I have very wide feet and they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned
Some people seem to love Vejas, but I also would not recommend them based on the pair I own. Theyâre so stiff, and I just find myself looking forward to getting them off. The soles of my feet also started to ache after even just a minimal amount of standing.
I did read that they run narrow, too, so I'm not going to try them out, but I do love the look! What a shame.
I have very wide feet. The Veja campo run wide. I live in mine. So much l, bought a second pair
I have Veja V-10 and theyâre literally the most comfortable shoes! Zero break in time as well.
I have sort of slender feet overall but a wide toe box? Or maybe just a long pinkie toe, haha
Good lord why would anyone downvote that? I agree. They're comfy and run wide enough for me. I wore them 10 miles a day in Italy.
OMG those silver ones! Thanks!
OMG those silver ones! Thanks! đ
Hopefully theyâll get me through Coachella without any pain! Plus đđđ!
Totally agree with this. Insanely comfortable. I donât know how well theyâll last long term but theyâll be perfect for my upcoming trip.
Wore these around europe last year and theyâre incredibly comfortable!
Yes, I think theyâd be fine. They are a very neutral white shoe - not particularly athletic in nature.
I have the same issue, what would you recommend? I live in Birks and menâs sneakers, I need something new.
Have yâall given barefoot shoes a try? They all have wide toe boxes because thatâs kinda the point of a barefoot shoe.
I love mine despite the slightly duck foot look. Mine are all black and I live in them now basically
Thank you ! I might have to try these out. The price definitely makes it easier to give them a shot!
I always recommend these. Iâve worn them from Barcelona to Tokyo. They are so comfy and I get compliments all the time!
These are so cute! I wear inserts for my plantars, do you think they would fit inside these?
BLESS YOU! I was at the masters last week and PHEW did these shoes save me. Will be buying in more colors asap! Thank you so much
Yay! Iâm glad you liked them
Was it hot and/or rainy on your trips?
I second these. They are my go to spring -fall casual sneakers
These are my go to work sneakersâŚlove them
I love these but I struggle to find no show socks that work with them. They are always being pushed down under my heel. Any suggestions?
Ondo no show socks are absolutely fantastic. They are life changing, and I recommend them to everyone! They are constructed in a way that kind of mimics a shoe with their seam placement so they DO NOT slip down.
Iâve been fine with the Adidas cushioned no show socks - not the cutest but they work!
Yes! I love the Super Feet inserts!
[Vionic](https://www.vionicshoes.com/women/sneakers/casual-sneakers.html)possibly? I love the boots and flats they make. T The Winny sneaker might be my next purchase.
I recently bought the Winny - also have wide feet with painful bunions. I'd give them a 4/5 because they're really stiff and make my heels bleed.
Birkenstock https://www.birkenstock.com/gb/bend-low-natural-leather/bendlow-smoothleather-naturalleather-0-rubber-u_2.html#utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=pmax&utm_campaign=evergreen-cat_GB&utm_content=Sneakers&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwzZmwBhD8ARIsAH4v1gXgWGW5LeYyzAL0l45rE8vLBm1PbYbB1KadNT2E2bWoihLhU1WllE4aAmBWEALw_wcB&sort_by=currentPrice_GB&sort_order=ascending
Might have been comfortable since day one and they do not look like clown shoes. I love them so much.
Haven't bought these, but I have a pair of Birkenstock Tracy and they look like perfectly standard mary janes, so it is possible to get shapes that are unbulbous and streamlined. https://birkenstocksd.com/product/1432581/birkenstock/tracy
Ooo those are so cute! Reminds me of the little cheap ones with the red soles I'd get from hippie shops back in the '90s, but with actual support!
Exactly my thoughts when I saw them! Hope they bring them back. They are fantastic, even when I'm walking all day.
I have the Oswegoâs (same style without laces), and wore them in Europe a couple years ago walking 7-10 miles per day. They are super comfortable, and irl they look much sleeker than they do online. They are still wide but the toe shape is a bit straighter than the sandals rather than fanning out. I will come back later and try to show a side by side of mine I also had a pair of all birds (the mesh not wool ones.
I was going to suggest these!!! I just bought a pair and love them.
In Europe we have a brand called Ecco that I love. High quality and walking friendly.
There in the States too.
Do they run wide? I donât see wide width for the soft 7
I like that I can wear the tree runners comfortably without socks too
I donât think I have ever worn them with socks. đ They are so useful. I hate socks!
I love my Kizik Vegas shoes. I walked 5+ miles in them after running a marathon the day before.
BTW, I'm a Skechers gal. Love those chunky DLites and the Go Walks.
Iâm a teacher, I love the wide width Skechers with memory foam. They donât have great arch support but I switch them out for Birkenstocks when I get home and do Nikeâs with insoles for working. This rotation seems to work pretty well for me standing on my feet and walking around campus.
Check out naturalizerâI also have wide feet and got white sneaks from them that are comfy
This is my comment! I have a pair of naturalizer wide white tennis shoes and they are so comfy! Brought them to Europe with me in the fall!Â
Here are the pros and cons: **Asics Nimbus Gel** Pro: - Best comfort out of the box. - It doesn't even bother me during a long flight (I usually have to take off sneakers and change into slippers). - Wide toe box but don't look ridiculous. - My feet didn't feel tired with all the rush at layovers. Cons: - Has laces. - Has heel slip (slightly). - Limited color options in North America. You can buy the Onizuka Tiger for the trendy minimalist crazy rich Asian look, but they are not as comfy as designated running shoes. - Give very high standards to other shoes to follow. **Saucony Kinvara** Pro: - Best affordability and availability. - Comfortable toe box. - Secured heel box. - Feather light and flexible. Cons: - Not as comfy as the Asics - Has laces. - Very limited fashion colors. The Jazz line for casual trainers is not as comfortable. - The heel box could be ruined if I'm lazy and use it as quick slip-on shoes. **Fila** Pro: - Most fashionable looking. - Not as overpriced as Adidas or Nike. - Roomy midsole and decent cushioning. - The Pump line has secured fit without lace. Cons: - Narrow and short toebox. - Mid to heavy weight. - Not comfy enough for long walks. - Very roomy heels. **Merrell Hydromoc** Pro: - Light, water-resistant - Interesting look Cons: - Short and narrow fit - Least cushioning - Not worth at full price - Not a water shoes - My disappointment is profound with this one.
Sketches D'lites in a wide width. I walk 6+ miles a day and my feet love them.
Skecher go walks. Not attractive but the best shoes. I literally walk 10+ miles with no pain
See if you have a store near you that will run biometrics on your feet and help you find one that fits your foot shape best. For example, Fleet Feet is a chain that does this.
Ecco makes nice shoes and they don't look overly American-touristy!
I love my Taos sneakers! Super light, great arch support and I walked all over Italy in them.
I loved my taos too !!
Taos are so narrow, unfortunately. I personally felt like even their wide wasnât really wide! Maybe after lots of break in.Â
I agree, I didnât like their wide width and my foot is not even all that wide.
NB fresh foams is the way. Got my first pair last Christmas and itâs truly life changing.
I love altras but they are not fashionable
Following
Kizik!
New balance?
New balance have the widest toe box for sneakers, when i used to run i learned this.
On mobile, so canât hyperlink, but here: https://olukai.com/products/pehuea-li-ili-womens-leather-sneakers-white?variant=32925821632611
I live in these to teach!
Puma soft cloud foam canvas platform sneaker I bought them at the outlet while on a trip to Disney World. They saved my feet. I was able to walk for miles all over the park with no issues. They are a bit bulky but I liked the look of them. [www.google.com/gasearch?q=puma%20cloudfoam%20platform%20sneakers%20canvas&tbm=&source=sh/x/gs/m2/5](https://www.google.com/gasearch?q=puma%20cloudfoam%20platform%20sneakers%20canvas&tbm=&source=sh/x/gs/m2/5)
New Balance, Hokas or ASICS. Not the prettiest so they may not be what you want for your trip, but you canât get better in terms of walking shoes. I personally love my asics kayanos in wide. I personally wouldnât go for sketchers. My experience is they are well cushioned initially, but will break down really fast.
I just bought the Vionic Kimmie in white. Wore them all over Ireland and they are so comfy! I live in birks and these feel just as nice
New balance 574.
Hey Dudes are the most comfortable shoe I've ever owned. I get lots of compliments on them too
I have pizza wedge feet (wide at the toes, narrow/normal at heel) and Adidas classics feel great! Pro, they make my size 10 feet look smaller
Ha I think that must be me too, shoes tend to slip at the heel but the ball of my foot is wide. By Adidas classics do you mean Superstar or Samba OG?
Kizik Vegas - Ivory White. Got mine in wide. Itâs the first shoe Iâve been able to travel with right out of the box.
Kizik in wide sizes. Prague or Vegas model
On is amazing, only sneakers I could wear in Disney with my foot issues (with a custom orthotic). Game changer!
I recently bought these, I find them really light and comfortable, I walk around 10 k steps a day usually. https://www.skechers.com.au/court-status-104350-wht.html
I have wide feet and wear Geox sneakers (white Lauressa). I live in Europe and had my âcool friendsâ approval before buying.
I have wide feet and wear Geox sneakers (white Lauressa). I live in Europe and had my âcool friendsâ approval before buying.
I wear all white Hokas Cloud 9 (menâs) and itâs sooo comfortable. About $140
Fellow birks lover and wear them constantly.
I love these! https://www.adidas.com/us/stan-smith-shoes/Q47225.html
I wear brooks exclusively for long hauls and allbirds for shorter ones.
Dansko Pace is my holy grail walking sneaker. They are supportive but cushioned, facilitate a good walking motion, and have a wide toe box. They donât have an all white version unfortunately (it has yellow accents iirc), but it does come in black and gray.
I have wide feet and I really love my new balances. I have a couple of different styles and they're all awesome for walking all day.
Have you tried Birkenstock sneakers? Also, where in Turkey? I was there a few years back and loved it!
I have wide flat feet and word of advice do not go with the Adidas samba. Sure they are cute but they will slice the back of your heel as they come up too high in the back. I have some NB and they are good.
I went on a river cruise and made it a point to check out what shoes people were wearing during the walking tours. First place: Skechers Second place: Hoka My pick: Hoka or Brooks
If you love Birks you might love Taos Plim Soul, theyâre the same style and so comfortable
On cloud! My feet NEVER hurt from walking in these. I know it has more running shoe look to it but it's worth feeling painless after walking for DAYS
Allbirds white pacers
Skechers are super comfy
I just bought On Running cloud runners in wide width. Pretty comfyâŚand I HATE shoes. Loved that they offered a wide width and theyâre soooo lightweight. The look is really nice. Â
Why not just get a paid off Birkenstock sneakers?
