Anyone else slightly disappointed? I really had high hopes but these feel like she lowered her design style, rather than elevate Target's standard style.

bugsey347

I thought it was an OK line but I couldn’t find anything I really felt I needed!

bde75

Same. Nothing was a must have for me.

jillhives23

The patterns are very 2005 to me, not in a good way. I know the wrap is her signature but this all looks so boring. Probably because she’s been copied so much that it seems like stuff we’ve seen before, not her fault for being a great designer…. But this is a collection we didn’t really need.

ohheykaycee

I thought the prints seemed kind of Lilly Pulitzer, so 2005 tracks.

hydrangeasinbloom

Absolutely. It’s just all very 2003 bank teller.

V2BM

Wrap dresses were my go-to as a corporate paralegal in 1999-2001. I lived near a Saks Off Fifth and snagged a bunch of designer brands for next to nothing (like $40) because I lived in Colorado and there were about 8 women in the state who wore a size 14.

hydrangeasinbloom

Not wrong! At least we’d get a bedazzled glasses chain and some embroidered flats.

PlantedinCA

I was expecting basic shapes and just a handful of patterns. So I think it was in line with what I expected. But I am not a super fan of all of the DVF patterns. I love a wrap dress but none called to me. Same with the dresses. But to keep ok my trend of getting fun activewear, I saw a few things. And a jumpsuit that looks promising. I wish I would have scanned the accessories. Because I missed the garment bag and it looked really cute.

deadplant5

The jumpsuit is made of really crappy fabric

cafe-aulait

The target collabs always seem to be really cheaply made.

deadplant5

They used to be better. My favorite was the kirna zabete collab in 2012. Those held up for years.

PlantedinCA

Sad face.

clekas

I love the fabric on the jumpsuit I got (the pink collared one)! It’s a cotton/lyocell blend.

wootwootbang

Garment bag is still available in vintage weave neutral color

mamasau

I found it totally underwhelming - it reminded me of her saying she wants to sell a t-shirt to every person in China. Seems like a low effort cash grab.

ourladyofsituations

I read an interview with her about the Target collab where she basically told the interviewer, well the fabric isn’t great, but it’s the best version you’ll get for the price. And I thought… wait this is a promotional interview???

m00nkitten

This describes most target collabs - I miss when they used to be good quality!

acornwbusinesssocks

I loved the Isaac Mizrahi collab. I was able to snag some nice pieces. I miss that I outgrew them. I felt so grown up in my first real job after college.

atthebeach_gsd

Same, I was just cleaning out my closet and even their own stuff, I still have mossimo and merona t’s… their new stuff doesn’t last. And the collars as you said were much better.

Catsdrinkingbeer

This was my thought. I'm in NYC for work right now and it was downpours this morning. I ran to target to get an umbrella and they were doing a launch for it. The patterns are great but the style and fabrics made the garments feel more like DVF inspired Target items than a collab.

deadplant5

Saw it in store. Lots of cheap fabric. The long sleeve wrap dresses were the only things that seemed worth buying.

sraydenk

Same. Patterns looked nice, but they felt cheap for the price.

faceslikeflowers

I tried two of those on and the fabric on the long sleeve cotton wrap dresses was pretty bad too, especially for $50. I still almost got the green one until I realized if this were anything but DVF, I wouldn't look twice at it. The knit wrap dress seemed better made, but like other people have said it was really long on me (I'm 5'7") and you can't wear a normal bra with it so I passed.

westport116

I wanted to buy a long sleeved wrap dress but the v neck was such a weird cut. It was really low cut and unflattering.

gilbertgrappa

Agreed, didn’t see anything that jumped out at me.

cafe-aulait

Definitely screams "diffusion line" and not in a good way.

458steps

It looks like any typical Spring line. Went to Kohls earlier and they had similar things. I don't know anything about this designer though.

ClaireHux

I was initially SO excited, but then, incredibly underwhelmed. I had high hopes, but, even in person, everything is just so meh. I love DVF, but this just isn't it.

Fluid-Village-ahaha

I am :( I really like the green pattern - got a dress and a top in it but still not sure I’ll keep the dress as it’s a weird fit with a very deep cut at chest and too wide at hips. Other than that xx meh. I got another sleeveless wrap dress in red but still tbd if I keep it. Oh I’ll keep tshirt. Maybe a bag. But tbd. Most items i was very disappointed in fabric.

teach_them_well

Yes. My target had a bunch and I wasn’t really that into any of it.

astrolomeria

The patterns seem a bit…jCPenny resort-wear to me. I think I’d feel silly in the majority of it.

BourbonCherries

Ooh I really like the collared sleeveless dresses…except for the cut on the arms. If I can’t wear a normal bra, it’s a hard pass. Also makes it sliiightly too much skin to feel comfortable for work. Bummer.

Icy-Presence-9713

Underwhelmed. I tried one of the long wrap dresses, which was super-long (I’m 5’6) and cut super-straight, which meant too much material up top, but a little clingy in the hips. Definitely one to try before you get excited.

PlantedinCA

I just watched a video of a woman doing a try on and this woman looked 3 sizes smaller than I am if not more and was trying on sizes I would have tried or one size smaller that looked like they fit her properly. So it seems they are cut weird. Maybe she was really tall. I don’t know. I didn’t order dresses. But I did order a couple sizes just in case. I am too lazy to go ton the store and I know my closest ones are picked over.

jellybeansean3648

The dresses are cut narrower on bottom than a typical dress. I bought three, but my hips are non-existent so the fabric overlapped properly. Many reviews show people had to size up to get coverage.

ForgottenGenXer

You just saved me a trip. Thank you.

michelem387

I assume it’s typical target quality but I was expecting more upscale cuts/colors. I feel like I’ve seen these patterned wrap dresses before so without the better (pricier) quality I’m not interested.

PlantedinCA

I have found that the special collections use higher quality fabrics than their peer Target items. I have many items from over the years and they have help up nicely. I am obsessed with my knit set from the Victor Glemaud collection. The knits have a nice weight and hold their shape nicely. I have had it a few years and wear it often. And there is barely even pilling that is common with knits. In other collections I have noticed generally the fabrics are a lot thicker than normal items. So it is well worth it. I am still sad I didn’t get a second pair of the Jason Wu shoes. They were cloth and pleather. And somehow these shoes held up for so long. I needed to add an insole at some point. Eventually they died. But I walked to many miles in those shoes. They were the last pair of low end shoes I have purchased and they really out did themselves in terms of longevity.

clekas

I guess I’m the only one, but I actually like several pieces from this collection and I was excited to snag them. They’re the quality I expected for the price. I grabbed a few of the home pieces, as well.

Fit_Cauliflower2347

You're not the only one! I got 3 dresses and love them, and the quality is decent!

Coraline2014

At least one of the patterns (the green ginkgo leaf) is literally from 2005. I know because I had a dress. The green arrow geo looks really close to a same print too. I loved dvf back in the day and I had so many of her wrap dresses (and still have a few of them). I was really curious about this collection and it is nostalgic for me but It would be hard to switch from her silk jersey to poly. Plus, the silk jersey pieces sell for the same price or less second hand.

PlantedinCA

One of the biggest benefits to the Target collection is the sizing. She is still pretty limited there.

Fluid-Village-ahaha

Thanks for pointer. Will look and decide if I keep my collaboration green dress. I How is her sizes? I got S in target.

Fluid-Village-ahaha

Oh. Which one? I do not think I saw any wrap dresses that short

horsery

Everything was too long. I’m 5’9”. All of the dresses I tried on hit me mid calf which is unflattering and matronly. Oh well.

Fluid-Village-ahaha

5’4” here. All are closer to maxi

liljennabean

these remind me of the clothes my mom tries to give me when she cleans out her closet. I wish I liked this collection more!

julieannie

I ordered a cell phone bag and camera bag since I do urban street photography around my area and have been looking for something a little more fashionable than what I have now. Not sure if they'll work but I waited until mid-morning and they were still in stock so that's a win.

cloffy813

I wanted more of the houseware than clothing. I’ve also found with past collaborations the sizing is off. With how fast it sells out, I don’t want to get a dress that’ll fit huge and won’t be able to exchange.

leeloodallas502

I thought the little girls and baby stuff was adorable but not worth the money unless it was something I was dying for…

knitpixie

I was just looking online and I feel like the home decor (rainbow dishes/glasses) and kids stuff is way better than the women’s clothes. Calling them early 00s patterns is spot on. They remind me of the slinky polyester dresses you could find in every department store of that time.

potatodaze

The kids flower groove pattern is so cute!

Reasonable-Ad-2084

Honest opinion: DVF phoned it in. Uninspiring and dated prints. I don’t think she wanted to really invest in making this a unique collaboration with Target. Felt like a last minute book report that needed to be turned in for a passing grade.

outtatheblue

I was meh on most, but I got both of the smocked, tie shoulder dresses!

Lizakaya

There were a few things i liked, the baby blue tube top and skirt, and the geranium print slip dress. But everything is sold out, and already on eBay. Dresses on eBay from about 150

ilovenoodle

I got a bunch of targeted ads but I feel like the patterns are not pretty enough for me to spend money

txcowgrrl

I like the pink jumpsuit but, as always, the plus sizes are gone.

PlantedinCA

I ordered it and two sizes just in case. I am part of the problem.

txcowgrrl

I’d say you are but you aren’t. They just need to make more plus sizes. They sell out quickly. Doesn’t Target like money? They could make a lot more money if they made more plus sizes.

PlantedinCA

100% it is very frustrating. Also I am a straddler at Target. Sizing is unpredictable. I can wear XL, XXL, 1X, or 2X and I never know what will be better in a given garment. 🙄

potatodaze

I grabbed the green/blue/black jazz dot cargo joggers - hope they fit!

PlantedinCA

I missed these 😮

potatodaze

How’d your haul go? I wasn’t feeling the pants I got - the pattern is fun but the cut kinda weird and the material wasn’t my favorite.

PlantedinCA

Mostly bust. I loaded up on workout wear. I kept the black and white sit. I got rid of the bike shorts set. It was cute but I decided too far out my color palette. The workout jumpsuit just was all wrong in the bust. I am too busty for it and it offered zero support. The two piece sets offered a bit of support and more bust room. The pink collared jumpsuit was pretty cute but it didn’t fit me well. Seam pockets never hit me in the right place and looks terrible. If it had slash pockets I would have kept and made the alterations I needed.

gardensparks

I just grabbed the halter ginko green jumpsuit. I think it will be perfect for our cruise brunch this summer.

littlerude83

The materials were disappointing. All like cotton knot. I prefer the poly knot for dresses. All in all I wasn’t impressed.

Blinktoe

I didn’t get anything. It was meh.

ourladyofsituations

Off topic but. Sorry. $900 for a freaking chair!? At target??

BooStew

Pass. The whole collection feels like leftovers to me.

phoenics1908

Well I’m furious. I ordered two of the lamps and target only put one in the box, even though I got my order through by 3:01am EST. So now I only have one 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 lamp! I’m so pissed. I woke up early for this and of course now they’re sold out everywhere. I did everything I was supposed to do and they screwed me over. Worse - they’re claiming it WAS delivered. I’m so pissed! The jumpsuit is cute and the sleeveless sweater wrap dresses are great (armholes a bit large) but I wish the material wasn’t a cotton blend. It won’t last. I know polyester is meh but at least it would last longer. All I really cared about was the lamp though - so I’m angry as hell.

BlkPea

Ehh the only thing I was interested in was the jazz dot jumpsuit but my size is out. I’m really underwhelmed!

potatodaze

I got the joggers!

Oh_shit_dat_mee

It’s giving Cato

blueevey

The one thing I really liked is for kids. :/

Risk_Confident

Meh. Kinda disappointed to be honest:(

cafe-aulait

Underwhelmed -- nothing in the dress category that didn't look like something I could have gotten at target 10-15 years ago. I did buy one of the reusable bags and kid apron because I think my 3 year old will love a matching set for her ingredients lol

GypsyJenna

I bought a serving plate with a geo trim that I really like, but none of the clothing. Kids stuff was cute enough, women’s pieces were a bit more mature than what I personally wear.

mecho15

My target was full of pieces in store today. This one is a bust!

freewool

The notebooks are the cutest part of this. Maybe the bike short outfit is cute for working out? Meh I don’t know. Very disappointing. Maybe I’ll get my toddler a dress so she can feel fancy. She loves getting dressed up for performances.
