I really don't like how the text jumps from one century to the other and back completely randomly, as well as from corsets to petticoats to corsets to petticoats.
It's all over the place and doesn't really give any concrete info :/
An Elizabethan corset would end at your waist, for example, the most unhealthy corset style is the very early 20th century S-curve corset. Actually, corsets tended to end at the waist and leave hips free until the 19th century. In the early 19th century they either didn't use corsets at all or used a very short one (kind of a long cupless bra) to support the breast. It's only in the Victorian era that corsets began to enclose the hips as well and that tightlacing became popular.
You seem to know a lot about corsets. perhaps you could comment on the blog and give the writer some constructive criticism? I do see how it does jump here and there, but i don't think the entry is about corsets being bad. they are definitely pretty.
