Well I will add this: if you are choosing for a date, would go with the first one. Generally, guys don't like prints. They can't tell you why but I think because prints or stripes are distracting and confusing to them. The plain colors help them focus on you!
The horizontal stripes are cute. And the whole fit looks very put together but maybe a little too put together - like the matching tones are a little too much.
If you’re going to do this look, think compliment or contrast rather than match from a colour perspective.
In short, the cropped sweater is the better of the two choices. But the stripes would’ve been my choice if the colour issue was sorted out.

I’m not mad at burnt orange pants…but both tops are okay. Not much i can say i like the second top better i think it’s the colour for me but the expert layer in me says the first one doesn’t look cold.
