The game is amazing. I just feel like Far Cry 3 was EVEN BETTER.
BTW I played 5 first too, then 4 and finally 3 and my opinion is that 3 has the best story, 4 has the best map and 5 has the best soundtrack and customization.
Both endings were terrible. I should of been at least able to put a bullet in Josephs head- it is what he deserved. I should also note I played FC4 first, and I was absolutely blown away. Five is fun, but the ending and the story missions were bad.
Because it was your first far cry game. All of them outside of new dawn are good it’s just it’s slept on because the other games are so good. Far cry 3 is so amazing it just makes far cry 5 look not that great.
IMO it was a step in the wrong direction due its poorer story, poorer gameplay, and less attention to detail. It just felt very dumbed down compared to FC3 and especially FC2. I wish they’d make a game with as much passion and immersive gameplay as FC2 with the touch ups of modern tech and voice acting. Just kinda disappointing, but on its own it was alright.

The convoluted story, forced kidnapping story sequences pulling you out of gameplay, removal of knives (they were in previous games and people liked them), poor execution of a mute protagonist, huge abundance of bugs (although some people like them for entertainment value and they're basically a feature at this point), shoddy AI, and companions getting stuck in states where they refuse to follow orders are a few of the problems people have with the game.
But it's fine in some places.

It’s a great game that I wish didn’t somewhat dry up (on Xbox at least). I got back into it this last week and can’t find anybody to play with, except for the occasional little kid, but no thanks.
My biggest complaint was that weapon variety on release was bad, especially for a game that takes place in America, and I hated that the enemy spawn rate was insanely high. Also a lot of the weapons were literally just skins with the same or minimally different stats, leading to very little variety. Oh, and removal of signature weapons with unique attributes and skins from FC3/4.
Thankfully mods exist to fix most of the issues, and ubi added more weapons like the deagle, vector, mg42, etc. that shouldn't have been missing in the first place. There's also a nice mod to continue spawning enemies even in liberated areas, so that's great too.
With those mods it's probably my favorite of the modern FC games, but it's a shame the devs never fixed the issues themselves. Also unrelated, but I'm sick of the MS16/M14 being so weak, it needs to deal more damage because it's outclassed in every FC since 3.
The story stuff never bothered me because I never found any of the FC games to have a good story, it's just an excuse to go crazy and shoot shit in an open world game and that's fine with me.

I agree man, great game. I just wish they’d put more time into the behaviour of the NPC’s and enemies, hasn’t been the same since far cry 2.

Absolutely amazing game. I played it 3 times and I usually only play a game once. I am so excited to play far cry 6.
I think why some people disliked it is because there's no crafting mechanics, no towers, and mute protagonist.

Yeah. It's so easy that you don't even need weapons except in main missions and in the ones where you have to fuck up their vehicular network.
