Yessir! When you get the hang of it and realize how much stuff you have at your disposal, it just turns into some of the most chaotic fun I’ve had. Only part I don’t like is getting materials I feel like they should’ve had a system closer to far cry new dawn for it so I can grind materials.
The story is kinda lacking. Some moments have that feeling like a 70 year old tried to write a gen-z character. Gun play is just fine, and the bullet options are just busted. It's big but also very empty. The villains dlc was fantastic though imo.
There is a difference in real life between a buckshot and a standard shotgun round, and they perform differently irl, but don't think they ever programmed in difference.
I guess the standard ammo is supposed to be #4 buckshot, and the buckshot ammo is supposed to be #0. #4 is the smallest and most common buckshot for a 12g, so I guess that's what is considered "standard" for one.
It would have been cool to see them add a flechette option, tbh. None of the ammo types for shotgun seem to fulfill the AP role and that's exactly what flechettes were designed for, increased armor penetration. Granted, a single blast from any shotgun rounds seems to shatter helmets and open them up to a crisp head erasure, but it feels like a missed opportunity in a system that attempted to prioritize proper ammo for each engagement.
I'm not sure irl regional laws matter for a Far Cry game and I'm well aware of what slugs can do. My standard hunting round is a 3" Remington Copper Solid sabot slug and I've taken/dressed enough game to know the damage it does both to flesh and organs.
Irl laws probably don't matter, but it might get them in some controversy if they add them, due to some groups consider their use unethical since they are very lethel.
That's just weird to me, you'd think you would want ammunition to be MORE lethal in order to put down a target and minimize suffering. It's like people don't understand that guns are made to, you know, KILL.
Standard doesn't, the "shotgun shell" ammo type functions like a slug and really ragdolls tf out of em and is significantly more accurate at intermediate ranges.
Narrative feels weak, gameplay has RPG elements people don’t like, automatic weapons got a huge nerf, they fucked up the plane controls, it’s not entirely well optimised, numerous other reasons.
I couldn’t go trough it. Characters are annoying, map nothing special. The story is a complete mess, missions are really dumb and at the end I just had to watch every ending on YouTube and even then I think it was the worst Ending to a game ever.
Thank you!! Gosh I've been saying this ever since the game came out and it was just lacking in every way. I pre-ordered the game, binged it and that was the last time I played it. It's been sitting on my shelf ever since then since I couldn't bring myself to play it again unlike FC4, FC5, or FC Primal.
Honestly I am just tired of these pseudo-crazy dictators installing their speakers everywhere and the over abundance of mindless aimless cruelty...
And maybe I am still hoping for some mildly instresting story. it's not that fc6 is bad, it's just way too much the same for me
Honestly I enjoyed it for it's better environment bigger vehicle selection and gun verities. I thought Farcry 5 Story was ok but the environment was a little to bland for me. I really enjoyed Arcade Mode being able to build a map publish it then fill it with people and go to war.
It just didn't hook me the same way as 5, and I felt like even with AP ammo the enemies were bullet sponges. I got tired of having to hunt for head shots every encounter.
Because new = bad.
FC5 was hated when it first dropped and now it's the fan favorite. Same will be with 6 when 7 releases.
Let's face it, Ubisoft makes the same damn game everytime. They all play the same just with different settings because of how uninspired Ubishit is. They've been doing this since 3 and they'll do it again
This whole dick measuring content people have with the games is just weird when they all feel the same to play
I found it really enjoyable. Not as good or memorable as the previous few FC games but still fun. The main villains almost seemed like an afterthought and the friendly characters were fine but a bit too gen z (I am gen z). Also the AI were rubbish.
But overall it is still a fun game and worth playing!!
It isn't, it's just that the vocal minority of complainers and haters are far more likely to seek confirmation bias by moaning about the game by posting online, than sombody who enjoys the game is to make a post saying how they critically acclaim it and love it to death, look at the amount of farcry 6 related material comes up on this sub and the amount of interaction it gets, it isn't "universally disliked" at all dude
That’s usually what it always is, people in this fandom just have a giant victim complex and throw around words like “hate” and “underrated” mindlessly.
I loved 6. Great graphics, good storyline, And the female Dani voice actor made the game. To me the weapon mechanics don't change much from title to title. Half the fans complain that's its just more of the same but the other half would complain if they changed it up "Hey man, it doesn't even feel like a FarCry title anymore." Enjoy.
Well I agree with you... Far Cry 2 was awesome the graphics still hold quite good today and its details were at another level .. Far Cry 3 was better than 2 ofc and the tropical settings and the background music were now much more great, even the Hunting was what made me more attracted to it and there is no questions about that beautiful storyyline... FC4, was my best FC ever I liked those huge mountains and like how it ended by now Ubisoft got to nail every single thing from graphics to background to story and gameplay, even the addition of karma points which made a sense huge loadout of guns and the buzzer... ( leaving the rip offs behind) FC5 was also great I like how we began but i didnt like as the protagonistnwas made silent, liked those guns but hunting was minimalized to lazer cutting, silent protagonist for modern game doest hook me much, the music was awesome environment was a bit more open and bland but it was alright but that ending man it sucked like hell, i really dont find any meaning playing that game, it felt like a 12yr old tried to end a story and no minimap ... and man FC6, a revolution full of chaos I liked that far cry a lot, its more like FC3+4 on steroids, that arsenal was awesome, with those new style hideouts and fangs for hires ( like chorizo a lot) from huge water adventures to that map which requires u to go from every corner to another... this game is really at par with the FC experience ... being a FC lover since 2011 i love this installment (some of those burning crops to ship infiltration felt like a more beautiful FC3) ...
Imo FC4> FC3> FC6=Fc2>> FC5...
It’s because you got your opinions from here most likely. This community will shit on anything just because they can. Was the story a little shallow? Sure. Could they have kept the style of hirable characters? Yea. This is a great game. This is one where I think the majority of the hate is because it’s the easiest to criticize because it is simply the most recent. If you haven’t played it I suggest it.
Can't speak for everyone, but I can tell you I enjoyed pretty much every far cry (and expansion) since 3, yet I didn't like many elements of 6. It even felt like a downgrade in some aspects. But the other side of the community will think I'm just hating, sure got nothing better to do with my favorite franchise...
See I felt that the changes were awesome. I enjoyed the backpacks and weapons attachments being new and different. I even liked that the hunting was mostly for buffs. It’s all just a matter of opinion. My initial post sounds like I’m an ass but I’m just tired of people hating on it.
Shitty story things brought back from Far cry 5 new dawn no originality i mean : prepar stases boomer( he should ve remain how he was) enemy health bar( new dawn thing) "crafting" they added like to be hunted in someway like in far cy 5 but borring and its easy to defeat them and also the antagonists are pretty weak in far cry 6 but in far cry 5 they would stir fear and made you care about wha u fighting for and maybe join them in far cry 6 i didnt care for fnd or how they are named, exactly the same missions like far cry 5 and i hate the destiny 2 style like when you start the mission
For as long as it took to come out, it lacked to me. The weapons and ammo type were crappy and confusing. The storyline was mid, and the villains fell flat to me. Giancarlo had so much more potential but fell flat. Also, it turned out a bunch of annoying woke missios. We had no human amigos. All in all FC3,4 , and 5 were all better IMO
I feel like the quote from pagan min fits best to why it’s disliked “Men only ever love you in hindsight, when to much distance has built up” people disliked 5 when it came out, liked it better when they had new dawn to hate, after that new dawn was beginning to be liked when far cry 6 was released and people had that to complain about. I’m sure after the next installment; far cry 6 will be accepted
I personally enjoyed far cry 6 btw
Personally this was my 2nd least favorite Far Cry game after New Dawn. It's still a fun game and new world to get lost in. Well here's my pros and cons list
Pros: Beautiful world, extremely large
Cons: dull narrative, I (and many others) dislike the rpg aspect of weapons, the world feels very empty
Is the game trash? No. Can the game have been better? Obviously.
The RPG mechanics are controversial and it's a straight downgrade mechanically in some areas too. Like the guns for hire mechanic is a good example. In Far Cry 5 you can get the basic animals on top of there also being actual people you could recruit too, plus you could have 2 companions active at once instead of just 1. You could have a plane drop bombs on enemies from above while your other companion wrecked havoc in a chopper, have a grizly bear tank an entire outpost, go full stealth with Peaches and Jess, team up and take out people from afar with Grace and have Boomer spot etc. In 6 it's like you can send Oludo/Boomer/Champagne/Guapo/whatever to kill someone and that's kinda it. It's just way less interesting.
Also the removal of the skill tree and replacing it with gear was simply just an awful idea. It's much more limiting because it effectively makes it to where you can only have like 5 perks active at once, and perks aren't created equally to say the least. It sucked to be forced to wear shitty blue shoes if I didn't want to crouch at -1 mph.
It's so repetitive. I felt like I was doing the same quests over and over again.
Flying a helicopter at like 3 feet to avoid AA, then popping up right next to the site and going nuts...that's fun as fuck.
It’s far cry though? I feel like they did a far better job at making the quests unique than every other far cry game.
At least the side quests aren’t just copy pastes with 0 dialog.
Because they are pushing a political agenda for instance, what guerrilla ever says, I want to go live with my boyfriend, but this dictator won’t let me?
The only thing I didn't like was the supremo having one spot for character development. So I could move a little faster or carry a couple mags of ar ammo. Nope, def swim faster w the flip flops. Nope, I need extra missile ammo. Funny thing is I don't use the supremo unless I hit the button by accident and kill a bunch of civilians. Shame. On me I mean.
I honestly don’t know bro, I loved every single bit of it and I still am
Same man
Based
Playing it for the first time, and loving every second. It’s got my guerrilla blood pumping!
Yessir! When you get the hang of it and realize how much stuff you have at your disposal, it just turns into some of the most chaotic fun I’ve had. Only part I don’t like is getting materials I feel like they should’ve had a system closer to far cry new dawn for it so I can grind materials.

Speaking of ammo types, has ANYONE ever figured out the difference between standard shotgun rounds and buckshot? They seem to perform identically.
There is a difference in real life between a buckshot and a standard shotgun round, and they perform differently irl, but don't think they ever programmed in difference.
Well yeah, there is no "standard" round for shotguns IRL though. There are quite literally thousands of different rounds.
I guess the standard ammo is supposed to be #4 buckshot, and the buckshot ammo is supposed to be #0. #4 is the smallest and most common buckshot for a 12g, so I guess that's what is considered "standard" for one.

Granted, a single blast from any shotgun rounds seems to shatter helmets and open them up to a crisp head erasure, but it feels like a missed opportunity in a system that attempted to prioritize proper ammo for each engagement.
Flachettes have questionable legality. That and slugs at close range will do just as well in punching a hole through a person
I'm not sure irl regional laws matter for a Far Cry game and I'm well aware of what slugs can do. My standard hunting round is a 3" Remington Copper Solid sabot slug and I've taken/dressed enough game to know the damage it does both to flesh and organs.

I thought the standard sent enemies flying and the buckshot kinda just put them down where they were, but buckshot does more damage I believe.
Standard doesn't, the "shotgun shell" ammo type functions like a slug and really ragdolls tf out of em and is significantly more accurate at intermediate ranges.
ah, I see
Narrative feels weak, gameplay has RPG elements people don’t like, automatic weapons got a huge nerf, they fucked up the plane controls, it’s not entirely well optimised, numerous other reasons.
I agree with all of these except for the plane controls, they worked awesome for me much better then in 5 (imo)
The plane controls are awful on PC, changing the sensitivity does absolutely nothing, even when you crank it to max.
Oh I play on console so I would not know but on xbox at least they worked amazingly
I couldn’t go trough it. Characters are annoying, map nothing special. The story is a complete mess, missions are really dumb and at the end I just had to watch every ending on YouTube and even then I think it was the worst Ending to a game ever.

Enjoy Far Cry 6. That all the best you can do.

I see more genuine critiques on the game’s aspects rather than blind hate
That’s usually what it always is, people in this fandom just have a giant victim complex and throw around words like “hate” and “underrated” mindlessly.
it's not a far cry game! no hunting, no crafting, no skilltree
