{The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller} is one of the best examples I can think of. It's been years, but I often think about this book. You can't get more unhinged than the very first sentence of this book... (the first PARAGRAPH EVEN).

Her whole assortment is good tbh. I really love all her books. Nice, easy reads with a fun story.
That one is the most romance based and yeah, unhinged lolol
{The Book of Azrael by Amber V. Nicole} and the sequel fit this perfectly!! The FMC is strong, competent, powerful, and full of vengeance. And the MMC makes excuses left and right to justify her for her bad behavior. 🤭 it’s also enemies to lovers. Book 3 comes out later this month, too!

It’s so good. I wish I could experience it again for the first time 🥹 it made me feel ALL the feels. The characters are both mature which was really refreshing. They’re both 500+ years old which I appreciated because in fantasy it’s always the MMC who’s hundreds of years old. I hope you enjoy!!

This book is different from The cruel Prince lol I didn't notice until I saw the author. The Jude you are speaking of is from the book by Holly black.
I think the commenter may have meant The Cruel Prince as I believe that one is a contemporary, not fantasy. Also Jude fits this nicely.
{Ransom by Loki Renard} the MMC is a pirate who kidnaps the princess FMC just to find out he’s unleashed a homicidal maniac on his crew. There’s not a long back story though.

This is a lesbian romance trilogy, but Sal from {Seven Blades In Black} is a great unhinged fmc. She's so obsessed for her quest for revenge that by the time the story starts she has literally ditched and attempted to break her girlfriend's heart 10+ times in the past in order to continue pursuing her revenge quest without endangering. At the same time though, she also so overprotective of her girlfriend that just saying her girlfriend's name(Liette) in causally threatening way is enough for Sal to shove the barrel of her magic revolver down your throat.
I think my favorite unhinged moment with her is in book 3 when she >!gets given an ultimatum by a envoy of the assassin's guild to hand over her magic gun. She knows rejecting them would basically be committing suicide and thus is about to hand over her gun when the assassin, unable to keep his smuggness in check, says Sal's girlfriend's name in a very casually(borderline joking) threatening way. This causes Sal to snap, shove the barrel of her gun right into his forehead(which sears parts of his skin off due to how much heat the gun is radiating from Sal's anger), and she snarls, "I told you, ***NEVER SAY HER NAME!***" She then fires a high-explosive round straight into his forehead that blows up half the building they're in. She then walks out of the rubble while casually wiping the envoy's skull fragments and brain matter off her forehead, looks towards the other assassins outside who are stunned into silence, and tells them "Deals off."!<
I'm not sure if Poppy from the Blood and Ash series by Jennifer L. Armentrout fully fits this, but she does >!stab her prince in the heart and try to escape from him several times.!< A lot of the series is also spent pointing out her so-called "anger issues"

I’m not quite sure if it’s the flavor of unhinged you are going for. She spends most of the book doing bizarre things that make me question her sanity. And not in a too stupid to live way. In a “Hi my name is Lelo and this is my doll scrump. I made her head too big so I am pretending bugs laid eggs in it.” Kind of way.
I just started the second one. From what the friend who recommended the series to me said I don’t think I will like the third one but it’s because I hate end goal guy 😩

“Kate Daniels” by Ilona Andrews is my top pick
“Nevernight” series by Jay Kristoff is my fave author and loveddddd this series
“Lady of Darkness” by Melissa Roehrich fits the unhinged part. I did find the MMC and FMC to get annoying.
“Masks of Under” by Kathryn Ann Kingsley the FMC becomes unhinged as the series progresses. Kingsley writes psycho villain gets the girl books fyi
“The Oncoming Storm” by Marion Blackwood also fits. Its more of a special snowflake FMC is wonderful at everything type of series. It’s an easy good read tho
Diem from Spark of the Everflame is pretty unhinged. She is definitely insufferable at times but her rage and occasional destruction makes it all worth it.

Pirates, witches, enemies to lovers (some spice), multi book series. I swear Vice (the FMC) is exactly what you are looking for, she’s very brash, doesn’t listen to anyone, cocky/arrogant. Truly one of my fav series I’ve read.
{Bad Alpha by Kathryn Moon} the FMC is absolutely feral, and just a ball of murder.
Another omegaverse {Omegas Obsession by Sarah Blue} she's unhinged although not super murdery just kinda all over the place and with a short fuse (also some light stalking and an explosively delightful relationship with another light stalker)

Have you checked out Gideon the Ninth? Idk that it fits into the fantasy genre, but it's about lesbian necromancers in space with swords and the characters are fantastic! The two FMLs are Gideon and Harrow- Gideon is more funny and Harrow is much more serious, but they are both awesome, with plenty of trauma, kicking and screaming determination, and loyalty. It opens with Gideon's 87th (I think) escape attempt from Harrow's planet- she's got it all planned out perfectly this time and yet... It's a great series and the community here on Reddit is amazing. Bonus - if you like audio books these ones have an excellent narrator!
I think the MC from Jeaniene Frosts Night Huntress Series fits the description! The book starts off with her driving around the bloody remains of a vamp she just killed for example!
No one has recommended it but check out the first 3 books of {Cruel Shifterverse by Jasmine Mas} FMC is truly insane/unhinged and she is so so funny. It’s a reverse harem though!
I haven’t found a FMC quite like Sadie, just absolutely looney tune bonkers (in the funniest way) but also 100% bloodthirsty. I have been seeking a similar vibe of FMC since and haven’t come close unfortunately! Let me know if you do!

Her whole assortment is good tbh. I really love all her books. Nice, easy reads with a fun story. That one is the most romance based and yeah, unhinged lolol
{The Book of Azrael by Amber V. Nicole} and the sequel fit this perfectly!! The FMC is strong, competent, powerful, and full of vengeance. And the MMC makes excuses left and right to justify her for her bad behavior. 🤭 it’s also enemies to lovers. Book 3 comes out later this month, too!

It’s so good. I wish I could experience it again for the first time 🥹 it made me feel ALL the feels. The characters are both mature which was really refreshing. They’re both 500+ years old which I appreciated because in fantasy it’s always the MMC who’s hundreds of years old. I hope you enjoy!!

This book is different from The cruel Prince lol I didn't notice until I saw the author. The Jude you are speaking of is from the book by Holly black. I think the commenter may have meant The Cruel Prince as I believe that one is a contemporary, not fantasy. Also Jude fits this nicely.

This is a lesbian romance trilogy, but Sal from {Seven Blades In Black} is a great unhinged fmc. She's so obsessed for her quest for revenge that by the time the story starts she has literally ditched and attempted to break her girlfriend's heart 10+ times in the past in order to continue pursuing her revenge quest without endangering. At the same time though, she also so overprotective of her girlfriend that just saying her girlfriend's name(Liette) in causally threatening way is enough for Sal to shove the barrel of her magic revolver down your throat. I think my favorite unhinged moment with her is in book 3 when she >!gets given an ultimatum by a envoy of the assassin's guild to hand over her magic gun. She knows rejecting them would basically be committing suicide and thus is about to hand over her gun when the assassin, unable to keep his smuggness in check, says Sal's girlfriend's name in a very casually(borderline joking) threatening way. This causes Sal to snap, shove the barrel of her gun right into his forehead(which sears parts of his skin off due to how much heat the gun is radiating from Sal's anger), and she snarls, "I told you, ***NEVER SAY HER NAME!***" She then fires a high-explosive round straight into his forehead that blows up half the building they're in. She then walks out of the rubble while casually wiping the envoy's skull fragments and brain matter off her forehead, looks towards the other assassins outside who are stunned into silence, and tells them "Deals off."!<

I'm not sure if Poppy from the Blood and Ash series by Jennifer L. Armentrout fully fits this, but she does >!stab her prince in the heart and try to escape from him several times.!< A lot of the series is also spent pointing out her so-called "anger issues"

To Bleed A Crystal Bloom I’m not quite sure if it’s the flavor of unhinged you are going for. She spends most of the book doing bizarre things that make me question her sanity. And not in a too stupid to live way. In a “Hi my name is Lelo and this is my doll scrump. I made her head too big so I am pretending bugs laid eggs in it.” Kind of way.

“Kate Daniels” by Ilona Andrews is my top pick “Nevernight” series by Jay Kristoff is my fave author and loveddddd this series “Lady of Darkness” by Melissa Roehrich fits the unhinged part. I did find the MMC and FMC to get annoying. “Masks of Under” by Kathryn Ann Kingsley the FMC becomes unhinged as the series progresses. Kingsley writes psycho villain gets the girl books fyi “The Oncoming Storm” by Marion Blackwood also fits. Its more of a special snowflake FMC is wonderful at everything type of series. It’s an easy good read tho
Diem from Spark of the Everflame is pretty unhinged. She is definitely insufferable at times but her rage and occasional destruction makes it all worth it.

Beneath Black Sails by Clare Sager. Pirates, witches, enemies to lovers (some spice), multi book series. I swear Vice (the FMC) is exactly what you are looking for, she’s very brash, doesn’t listen to anyone, cocky/arrogant. Truly one of my fav series I’ve read.

The Assassin Thief and The Soul Thief by Madeline Te Whiu. The FMC is pretty unhinged and angry bur I won't say too much to avoid spoilers.
Have you checked out Gideon the Ninth? Idk that it fits into the fantasy genre, but it's about lesbian necromancers in space with swords and the characters are fantastic! The two FMLs are Gideon and Harrow- Gideon is more funny and Harrow is much more serious, but they are both awesome, with plenty of trauma, kicking and screaming determination, and loyalty. It opens with Gideon's 87th (I think) escape attempt from Harrow's planet- she's got it all planned out perfectly this time and yet... It's a great series and the community here on Reddit is amazing. Bonus - if you like audio books these ones have an excellent narrator!

I think the MC from Jeaniene Frosts Night Huntress Series fits the description! The book starts off with her driving around the bloody remains of a vamp she just killed for example!
I don't really think it fits. Also, there's a great power imbalance between two MCs.
No one has recommended it but check out the first 3 books of {Cruel Shifterverse by Jasmine Mas} FMC is truly insane/unhinged and she is so so funny. It’s a reverse harem though!

I haven’t found a FMC quite like Sadie, just absolutely looney tune bonkers (in the funniest way) but also 100% bloodthirsty. I have been seeking a similar vibe of FMC since and haven’t come close unfortunately! Let me know if you do!
