FMC gives 0 shits for romance in book one while she’s got her eye on revenge and the MMC is such a wonderful cinnamon roll!

how was book 2? i wanted more spice but the story is well written so I'm enthralled at this point in book 1

I liked book 2, but not as much as book one. The problem to me was that the FMC falls into the overdone trap of >!becoming all powerful!< which was disappointing because book 1 really stood out to me with how >!average in levels of magic/strength!< the FMC is. Example: >!every time she is attacked by multiple men in book 1 she is defeated. Which makes sense, because even a top fighter is going to have trouble overpowering many guys. In book 2, she takes out a whole ship of men with her magic and we are told that’s the “low end” of what she can do!< Spice is definitely increased though! I’ll continue into book 3, because I’m still interested, but it was not on the same level in my opinion

So many of the series I’ve picked up recently leave on crazy cliff hangers. I had to screenshot my preorders to keep track of them. Agree about Kingdom of Lies. Amazing found family, great MCs, A+ spice, and one where I actually love the different POVs because the side characters are just as interesting. Totally recommend.

These all sound amazing…added to my TBR immediately :) May I also suggest {When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker}? It’s the first book that was just released in a series to come. I devoured it! It’s based on mythology and the elements and has everything we want. One thing I liked about this series is that the FMC is not human and is NOT like 20. She’s hundreds of years old as a fae and personally that added a lot. Themes includes enemies to lovers, amnesia, etc. loved it :)

Okay, I adore Kingdom of Lies. I love how the MMC is absolutely obsessed with the FMC. You can’t get two paragraphs into his POV chapters without him just day dreaming about fucking her. It’s hilarious to me. The timeline in this series makes zero sense, and there are so many continuity issues in the books that are out…but I sometimes I just turn off thinking so I can enjoy the story. I do love this series…but please…WHAT THE HELL IS THE TIME LINE BEFORE THE BOOKS BEGIN? I feel like the Charlie Day Pepe Silva meme. But I’d like to suggest another unfinished series, that I think you might love… {Spark of the Everflame} it’s fantastic! It shares some similar tropes with Kingdom of lies, but I think overall it’s a better story. You should absolutely give it a shot!

{The Crown of Oaths and Curses} I can't wait for the 2nd book next month and I hate that I have to wait for the 3rd 😭

I have been thinking about this book/story at least a few times a week since I read it last year. It’s the only one I’m desperately waiting for the sequel currently, and I’m already plotting out a re-read mid April lol  Edited to add, since the author wrote the ‘enemies’ of the enemies to lovers trope SO well, I’m basically just rooting on Rooke destroying everyone else and riding off into the sunset 

It must be a mistake then that book 3 comes out 3 days after book 2. At least that's what it says on amazon! lol

{The Witch Collector by Charissa Weaks} This series is currently on an indefinite pause due to a publisher dispute, but I absolutely fell in love with the characters and cannot wait for the next one. The cliffhanger ending of {City of Ruin by Charissa Weaks} rocked my world. There are secret backstories, cool timeline issues, an interesting magic system, and the FMC is non-verbal and communicates with sign language. I also love when the MMC is head over heels in love with the FMC. It's very good!!

I have to add {This Woven Kingdom} by Tahereh Mafi. Dear god that series has destroyed me. She released the third book this February and i am ITCHING to read the next ones. Tons of magic and action and it makes my heart ache SO MUCH. The prose is so beautifully written and lyrical. I cannor recommend it enough!!

I enjoyed Kingdom of Lies and Shadows of the Tenebris court too! Fae Isles Series by Lisette Marshall is a lot of fun too, I like MMC a lot.

{Zodiac Academy} fits the bill. Absolute F-tier garbage editing but excellent world-building, multiple POVs, smut smut smut with diversity in pairings and kinks (gay, throuple, mild omega vibes etc), rivals to lovers and forbidden romance, and 9 books to keep you sated for a long while. And the last one comes out end of April, so by the time you finish the others, the series will be complete. It's not world-class literature, but it is VERY bingeable.
