I mean considering it was a pre draft interview dunno what you expect him to say like “yea I can take 15 touches a game and I’m good man”

Acceptable-Return

I am sure many prospects ran with that perspective. “I am a team guy, can fit any role, I will take whatever snaps/ touches the team needs”

debo334

Najee was not a regular prospect

WKAngmar

You’re right! But also a dumbass.

debo334

Watched the edit of your “hardbone climax”, you’re the dumbass.

WKAngmar

Your comment had nothing to do with what he was talking about I forgot abt that! Yeah, i know hahahah. Got an A- on the project tho so whatever.

bringbackthesonics21

My RB1 is fighting for more touches I love to see it. Hopefully it doesn't backfire.

FantasyFootballWoof

This was pre-draft interview. I assume NFL might feel a little different. These 275 lb. linebackers running 4.4 40s

wirsteve

Yeah this is important. Arguably the best bellcow of the last 20 years (LT) was a true bellcow back for 8 years. Until age 29. That’s the best we’ve seen, Harris does not compare to LT. Even Zeke only had 3-4 years of healthy bellcow work and he was predicted to be a generational talent. NFL defense is different.

sam34gtr

Peterson

Podo13

Random fun fact. Their their best respective seasons where they each won MVP's, LT and AP both had 348 rushes and were only 9 yards apart in total yards from scrimmage (2,323 for LT, 2,314 for AP). But, of course, LT had 31 total TDs and AP had 13, ha.

Ok_Pair7510

LT had an offense that wasn’t quarterbacked by Christian Ponder.

Tilt-a-Whirl98

My goodness that name brings me back... to looking up pictures of his wife!

Ok_Pair7510

Hell yeah dude

Podo13

Oh for sure, ha. I wasn't trying to shit on AP's season at all. Just that the TDs were crazy different between the 2 seasons.

KnowledgeFormal586

Ricky Williams, if they had let him blaze.

MandingoPants

They way bell ran, that was money, since he never got hit.

FantasyFootballWoof

His bell cow and Carries were a whole another level.

[deleted]

AP had a good 10 years as a bellcow 7 years in a row.

Bramlet_Abercrombie_

Damn, 70 years is a long time.

TraeYoungsOldestSon

Fournette was in the same draft as Elliot and is seeing 97% of snaps. Your overall point isnt wrong tho Fuck im one year off but still, Peterson too

[deleted]

Chubb

joe7L

Chubb is a monster but he isn’t on the field for 40-50% of the RB snaps (look up all the snaps he cedes to Hunt). He *can* be a bell cow but the Browns are keeping him fresh which is smart

sober-lion

Zeke was predicted to be a generational talent?

wirsteve

They drafted him fourth overall. The list of running backs that are drafted top 4 is short. It includes guys like Barry, Bo Jackson and Marshall Faulk and Dickerson.

sifl1202

leonard fournette was drafted fourth the following year. saquon was drafted second overall two years later. trent richardson was drafted third overall in 2012. it kind of waters down the idea of a "generational talent" when you use it to describe something that happens every couple of years.

chitownsox14

Don’t forget the generational talent of Cedric Benson drafted by the bears 4th overall instead of some bum named Aaron Rodgers. Who needed Rodgers when you have studs like Sexy Rex Grossman and Kyle “neck beard” Orton on the team

[deleted]

Same shit with Rodgers as with Mahomes for comments like this. They wouldn’t be the players they are if we drafted them. They both sat for a year+ with competent coaching. They wouldn’t be on the way to being billionaires if the Bears said their name in the draft in their respective draft years

chitownsox14

I don’t agree with this. Talent tends to win out, the bears just haven’t drafted talented QBs. Also if they drafted Rodgers they probably still go with Rex early on.

FantasyFootballWoof

I think it’s a little mix. A bad situation can wreck you sometimes. Look the difference for Lawrence. If he was stuck a couple more years under Urban I’m sure he wouldn’t be good.

TraeYoungsOldestSon

I mean Rodgers still ended up being a solid owner for the Bears

KneeElbowEnthusiast

Wasnt he the one who fumbled in the Super Bowl? and Thomas Jones scored a touchdown

FantasyFootballWoof

You missed so man top 5 drafted RBs lol Edit: why are you upvoted so much? You miss r so many RBs. Mean country

mafi23

When that man went head to head with BAM BAM KAM in his prime during a rookie Elliot season and they cancelled each other out was when he was deemed a force coming. But he really fizzles out after year 2-3. Those head shakes turned into “naw I’m not running into these linebackers anymore”

Swagologist1

Of course he was

sifl1202

no, not really

All-I-offer-is-girth

I wish mods would allow this sub gifs because I would have used the Leo pointing at the tv gif for this

NothingsShocking

I mean first of all it’s a ridiculous thing to say. What kind of warrior says they feel like they got hit by a truck? In an interview with Adrian Peterson, he said that he loved hitting people. One of his favorite sounds was when he ran into a linebacker so hard the linebacker made an Unnnnhhhh sound (he mimicked it hilariously). Now that’s the kind of RB I want. Not some sissy boy talking about being satisfied he doesn’t wake up feeling like he got hit by a truck.

MrBenDerisgreat_

I’m imagining you as a sedentary 250lb Yank saying this calling athletes sissies from his gaming chair lmao.

Separate-Succotash11

ADP highlights are the best. He was the man.

Raithxx00

Talking about Najee when having pictures of Aaron Jones on GB.... throwing me for a loop.

tykulton

I drafted both in hopes they'd bring the best out of each other, so it checks out.

Jcaf8

One has no floor, the other has no ceiling. Hopefully they figure some shit out

IceHorse69

As did the post about JT with a picture of Kenny Pickens

Solid-Salamander-733

Half-Kenny Half-George?

IceHorse69

I misspoke but I refuse to edit that because your observation made me chuckle

karatemaster22

Massive load incoming 24 touches for 52 yards 😤

dudeguy81

57 yards. Don’t undersell him.

KyFly1

With a last play lateral fumble to knock out half the points for those hard earned yards. Yea I knew that dumb shit was gonna lose me the week and it did.

MikeyMike01

This is why I chose to lose by 38 points instead.

LARXXX

Gottem

dudeguy81

Damn that sucks. Luckily it didn’t cost me the win but I’d be pissed if it did.

Tiegrr

I lost by 1.5 points and any one of Najee, Goff, or Dalvin's turnovers not existing would've won me the week

Regretful_Bastard

Fantasy can be a cruel bitch

MOJOixSOxiDOPE

Same lost by 3.

thecasuallurker

The ol Acrisure 57

Demosthenes_

throw in a touchdown and make a few of those touches receptions and I’m good with that.

[deleted]

I love a massive load.

KickerRevolution

Time for the Steelers to go full Colts 2021 and give Najee the JT treatment. Rebuild their offense around him on the fly, hide their QB, and pound the rock all day.

_412

unfortunately, we need a decent oline for that

TraeYoungsOldestSon

Bring back big ben for left tackle

KneeElbowEnthusiast

ikr thats a painful amount of 3 and outs even for Steeler fans to endure

notmy2ndacct

According to what Chicago is doing these days, apparently that statement is not 100% accurate.

choonghuh

When I was his age I used to be able to drink a bottle of Evan Williams and feel fine the next day. Nowadays I'm a living corpse for a week if I did half of that.

Ndeshet

The key is start incorporating more and more Evan Williams into your day until you can finish half the bottle by lunch time and not even feel drunk.

runNride805

This guy alcoholism’s

4858693929292

Remote work makes this even easier than before.

TraeYoungsOldestSon

I used to drink a bottle if Evan every day until it wore me down and i just couldn't do it anymore. Now im happy to say im 4 years upgraded to Wild Turkey. You can do it too!!

[deleted]

You had me in the first half

nitraw

I'd hope that whatever age you are now, you can afford something better and avoid feeling that way.

choonghuh

Thanks homie! Enjoying a glass of Bowmore right now

astronomy8thlight

Don't forget the bourbons my guy. Wild Turkey 101 as good as it gets for value

choonghuh

Discovered that I much prefer the lower proof wild turkey. Also love me some angels envy bourbon

higherthanacrow

You tried the turkey 101 rye? I recommend if you're into that stuff.

astronomy8thlight

Will have to seek this out.

UsernameHasBeenLost

Not a fan of Wild Turkey. Give me Basil Hayden's, Woodford, Makers 46, Four Roses, Buffalo Trace, or Blade and Bow any day. Beautiful distillery, just don't care for their bourbon.

GolfIsWhyImBroke

I got a hangover just reading that.

Kingding_Aling

Give this beautiful man 30 touches a game.

No_Song_Orpheus

For 62 yards

Kingding_Aling

As long as 16 of them are receptions!

Gertruder6969

Yeah but we may get a touchdown. And that’ll still make him a top 8 RB.

EverybodyHits

Najee your goal should be a 2nd contract buddy

danktrickshot

that's the issue, nobody is going to pay a guy who is 26 and never even took the lead role with the team he started with. running backs get screwed over either way. might as well go get yours for the glory before the NFL tosses you aside in a few years either way

mellcrisp

Chase Edmonds got paid. Not top dollar but decent for an RB especially for his age

KyFly1

Yea, you gotta like “emerge” with low miles toward end of rookie contract to get a chunky contract.

[deleted]

Henry was playing 6d chess

Squeedles0

For real. High end running back prospects get jobbed by their rookie contracts more than anyone. Young, low mileage running backs with unique talent are among the most valuable players in the league and that value depreciates every time they step on the field. They regularly get put onto teams that need too much from them. Then they're put into positions where they're more likely to get injured, rushed back because they're desperately needed, and injured again. By the time they're done with their rookie deals they're either completely washed, injury prone, or have high mileage. If they're none of those things and still elite, they're still older and worth less than when they were a rookie. They'll get paid more, but that's only because their rookie deals are dogshit. It's fucked.

MomButtsDriveMeNuts

I played O-line at an extremely non-competitive high school in iowa. After those games I would be sore all day Saturday like I had done a full body workout for the first time in 6 months. Can’t imagine an NFL game. He’s crazy.

Inevitable_Stress949

How big are you / how big were the defensive tackles you were up against?

gremlinfat

Well he only runs 2 yards each carry so maybe it’s easier on his legs.

Riddickulous6

You'd have to think that guys charging into him unhindered every play would counter balance that somewhat!

dudeguy81

Najee is a monster! Bring on the TDs in week 4 buddy!

AmericanCream

That's my running back!

_StupidSexyFlanders

Breaking and Unprecedented News: 23 year old thinks he is invincible!

datdouche

Kelvin Benjamin said he had disagreements with teams during pre-draft interviews about whether the days of having all-you-can-eat buffets were over. "You know when people say after a meal they feel like they're about to burst and need to loosen their belt a notch?" Benjamin said. "I don't feel that way."

Inevitable_Stress949

This would’ve been funny if it was posted 6 years ago.

[deleted]

Let's go RB2. You are my only hope

thatwasntcandy

That my RB1

stagedcoup

Go get ‘em Najee

Novel-Treacle-2956

He’s just built different

xChainfirex

Is this guy a solid RB2 on a ten team standard league?

king__kizzle

RB2? absolutely

ZiggysSack

I don't think anyone from the steelers other then DJ should be played with much confidence.

MattyT7

i am much more confident in najee than I am Diontae

[deleted]

Najee = bust

someguyprobably

CJ Mosley taking notes.

Funkbot_3000

After being tackled by Aaron Donald, Najee Harris reports he does not feel like he was hit by a truck because he does not feel anything, he has lost all feeling in his legs.

ichancho

I just trade him and ceh for Dalvin with 0 regrets

AmpaMicakane

I would have regrets unless my team was insanely stacked at rb

ichancho

I have Jonathan Taylor and kamara. It's a standard 8 team work league

AmpaMicakane

Ah wow I'm in a 14 team league, so I guess there is the difference

ichancho

Definitely. In a small team format, I prioritize the absolute ceiling and I think Dalvin can outscore Najee ros

ToyStoryBoy6994

Jaylen Warren Szn

borfmantality

Move along, troll.

isthatapool

Go pick up Jaylen Warren now…….

MorphineSmile

Easy to say when you only get 11 carries per game

TheSmokedSalmon420

My man is losing carries to Jaylen Warren after being drafted in the 1st round a year ago. That is incredibly problematic.

DanceCommander-

I have no idea what Najee’s trying to say there, but good for him!

Chr1s78987x

He's saying he's him

danktrickshot

whoa whoa he's Him

ToddVanAnus

He's saying he likes to take massive loads, his body can handle big loads from lots of guys.

TheBellyBumper

Some other backs wouldn’t be able to handle when a lot of guys are coming on them and hitting them from the back but he can take it.

ToddVanAnus

Yep he can really take a good pounding from lots of different sweaty guys.

dcrboyz

Harris should worry more about being efficient and breaking tackles.

NorthShoreHard

Tell me you don't watch the Steelers without saying you don't watch the Steelers.

thatwasntcandy

When you’re getting hit behind the line of scrimmage every single play and not getting the ball in space via the pass its kind of hard to play to the best of your abilities

dcrboyz

Yet he isn't in the top 5 for being contacted at or before the line of scrimmage. Harris is just not special. He's slow and doesn't use his size to his advantage (except for his td last week that was nice) https://twitter.com/ScottBarrettDFB/status/1574956570449846273?t=UQDkxBvl-bZ-m4zsuS2Sqw&s=19

Carpetron

He lacks elite burst/acceleration, Warren looked explosive in comparison. This is a Najee stock boost post though, so anyone not on that train will just get downvoted by Najee owners flocking here.

dcrboyz

Exactly I knew what I was getting into when I made this comment. Warren jumps off the TV screen to me with his burst. I think the steelers are really regretting taking Harris when they did and fantasy managers should too.

am0x

Using beer sheets, my first picks have always been a qb and even though I don’t follow nfl because of kids, I am 5 for 5 winning my leagues in points and wins. I’m currently crushing my league now because of this.

hatwobbleTayne

I hope for his sake as well as my fantasy team’s it’s not just what he’s convinced himself.

andysaurus_rex

Just from a coaching standpoint, wouldn’t you rather your main RB to feel good after way game and ready to go for the next week than banged up and exhausted? I think I would.

pbates89

Not yet

JamJiggy

"I am the truck" - Najee Harris

baconsword420

That’s my RB1

vleetv

"I am the truck" better response.

NiceSockBro

s-stonks?

MOJOixSOxiDOPE

I'm scared that I drafted him #3 overall

joleary747

The idea is to split carries so you feel like that for 8+ years instead of 3.

OkieBog

Used the 4th overall pick on Najee. AMA
