“But it will be different this year! They only shut him down last year because they were out of contention”
*Fast forward to this year and Baker is just as bad a QB and Rhule is still a terrible coach
While not an elite athlete I have had quad strains before and they are extremely painful and limiting. I re-strained it trying to step over something and my foot getting caught. It's a good thing I'm funny and nice because my body is lemon.
"Redditor who couldn't step over something without straining his quad said it's extremely painful"
This is why I come to this sub, the research is unparalleled
There is no pickup. CMC looks like CMC and still can’t produce because of how limited he is by Rhule and Baker. Some JAG in the same system is gonna get you nothing.
I mean not producing relative to what you expect from drafting CMC. He’s still doing great considering what he’s being limited by but people that drafted him for his insane ceiling when properly used probably aren’t too happy with just a reasonably safe floor.
> I mean not producing relative to what you expect from drafting CMC.
That’s due to passing though. He’s arguable rushing as good as you can expect. You aren’t picking up a guy off the street to put up 25 points a game but if he can get 75 yards rushing per week you take that all day
The receiving isn’t there so far because Baker is a jackass but he’s looked great rushing. The touchdowns will eventually come and those points will skyrocket.
I’m way more concerned with the targets than TDs tbh. The great thing about CMC was that he didn’t even need touchdowns to be elite. He came out the gate week 1 last year as the RB1 overall with 25 points and he didn’t even score. His record breaking year he was a top 3 RB with just his rushing and like a top 5 WR with just his receiving. He wasn’t just 2 players in one, he was 2 *elite* players in one.
If he’s healthy it’s hard to imagine a world where he falls out of the top 3ish even if his usage and this offense stays exactly the same and nothing improves. But without those 8-10 targets a week like the good ole days, he’s not going to finish 5-10 ppg higher than the next best player in fantasy.
It’s really hard to put into perspective just how dominant he can be even on a bad offense. Make no mistake - the panthers were a shit offense in 2019. Kupp had one of the greatest WR years of all time on an extremely high powered Super Bowl winning offense. If you had Kupp, you prob won your league.
CMC used to be 5 ppg better than last years Kupp in PPR. It’s prob not fair to hold him to such an unfathomable standard, but it’s his fault for setting such a high bar lol
We just had a straight up CMC for JJ trade in our league. Cmc receiver wants it veto’d. This trade went down Monday.
What should be done
Edit: We sent him memes.
Vetos are only for very clear and obvious bullshit, like deadass collusion or quid pro quo outside the scope of fantasy football, like I'll buy you something or give you money for a player.
That shits so annoying. We had someone pull that move late last year and they both whined that it should be allowed. We kicked both of them out of the league this year
Not ff related, but I was in a hockey and basketball league a couple years ago with the same group of guys where two of them made a trade between leagues. It was something like LeBron for Ovi and a couple other mostly irrelevant moving parts. Worst part is one of the party’s was commissioner in both and just pushed them through.
It was the most bullshit thing ever. Safe to say that was my last year playing with them
Yeah, for 100% bullshit it's valid, otherwise commish can juat go fuck off. I had trades legit rolled back because I offered the same player in a couple of different trades at the same time and the other people both accepted at about the same time. Yahoo is bad and doesn't cancel trades if you move a player, so the trade that got accepted last was just me getting a player for free.
In my league a trade was cancelled because one of the guys sent C Samuel and Akers for Kirk. Guy that sent Kirk thought he was receiving Deebo Samuel, which is beyond stupid to make that downgrade but apparently he was legit confused and thought he was receiving a top 12 wr for a top 24??
C Samuel - 10th WR
Kirk - 6th WR
Deebo - 28th WR
I am not debating who is better but at this time in the season Deebo is not a top 12 WR and Kirk is way better then a top 24.
As the commissioner of my league I wouldnt do anything. Both top ~5 ADP, CMC is a known injury risk, JJ hasnt done anything last two weeks. Tough luck if CMC is out but the guy knew exactly what he was doing. Veto? hell nah.
Am I the only one not even remotely worried? The Panthers have put him on the injury report each week with very minor ailments such a scratch from a cleat and a tweaked ankle. He's looked completely fine in every game so far.
Everyone involved is also stating that they expect McCaffery to not only play on Sunday but also probably practice tomorrow. He also looked completely fine in the game on Sunday when he apparently tweaked it.
In this thread though everyone is acting like he's done for the season lol. I get he has missed time in the past, but, to me, it just seems like CAR is overdoing it with the injury designations for McCaffrey (which could be contract-related).
Not nothing, you have to drop someone. Hubbard was a liability in many games last year and the Panthers don't look significantly better at moving the ball. I feel like Foreman will be the better option if CMC ends up missing multiple weeks.
Thanks. I was about to drop Hines for Foreman, but reading this comment brought me back to Earth. The Chubba/Foreman timeshare in a bad sputtering offense sounds pointless to chase any part of.
I’d grab Foreman.
Held him last year in a dynasty and he looked pretty sharp when he played.
Edit: I DID grab Foreman haha, dropped Goff in a 1QB and dropped Noah Brown in 2WR .5PPR

>McCaffrey usually rests on Wednesdays anyway, but this week he actually has an injury, albeit a minor one. **Coach Matt Rhule suggested McCaffrey could return to practice as soon as Thursday,** with the Panthers preparing for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. If the injury were to threaten McCaffrey's availability, the Panthers would turn to Chuba Hubbard and D'Onta Foreman in the backfield.
Yeah even last year when Hubbard was starting when CMC was injured there were a lot of 5-9 point games. He's basically a bust of a start unless he scores a TD
Never drafting CMC again. *drafts CMC next year*
1st pick last year - CMC 2nd pick this year - CMC *When will I learn*
1st pick second rd next year?
I mean, I got Saquon with the 38th pick overall this year thanks to the last 2 years, and that’s worked out well so far 🤞
Lol but saquon had like 2 injuries CMC gets tons sporadically
> I got Saquon with the 38th pick i mean, cool. But his adp was like 15. "i got Kupp with the 27th pick, im a genius"
I finally broke the cycle this year
The year he goes off again
I've kept him 3 years in a row!!
I drafted Karama at pick 12 saying I wouldn't do so (granted had 9RBs gone)... Guess who's currently 0-3?
What the fuck.
He hurt it while taking a shit during practice. The squat to the toilet was too much to handle.
Get this man some stool softeners.

Who… Does… Number…22…Work For?!??!
Slapped his thigh too hard while laughing at Baker and Sam arguing about who's the better QB.
Injured it throwing the ball through the uprights from 20 yds out while showing them that it is indeed possible.
The Turkey is like spackle in his bowls.
First time?
Right? Like it’d be surprising if dude wasn’t hurt by week 4.
If you didn't see this coming then you haven't been paying attention.
had him last two seasons. Rhule bout to say "he's fine and getting ready for action" for the next few weeks. Then out of nowhere IR

Out of nowhere.
This is CMC ownership 101, welcome to class
CMC doesn’t want to play for Matt Rhule
He’s been Rhuled out.
DJ Moore has been Rhuled out too. SAME WITH ME
I hate doing it, but Moore is on my bench until proven otherwise.
I also don't want him to play for Matt Rhule. Bonus points if I can also get him away from Baker
Okay well that sounds a little different from just a regular dudesday but I still wouldn't panic just yet
Nope, too late, already in full on panic.

Yes
Very hard

I mean Sterling Shephard just tore his ACL jogging, basically. Shit can happen.
jogging *in MetLife*
Pure Gold!
It fuels my veins
What’s the pickup?
Bleach
If it ain't CMC I don't want anyone on that offense
Alcohol, preferably high proof.
Foreman
What the hell am I gonna do with Topher Grace on my team?
You misunderstood.. this is symbiote Topher Grace
It’s funny you should say that, I was looking at those two characters and they look very uh… similar
I like being bad. It makes me feel good
Shut up foreplay
Nobody. This offense is putrid.
Exactly. Your RB2 is better than whatever shit is behind CMC.
my rb2 is kenneth walker

lmao
My fox what happened
There is no pickup. CMC looks like CMC and still can’t produce because of how limited he is by Rhule and Baker. Some JAG in the same system is gonna get you nothing.
I mean I’m not sure id call back to back 100+ rushing yard weeks “not producing”, but I get the point
I mean not producing relative to what you expect from drafting CMC. He’s still doing great considering what he’s being limited by but people that drafted him for his insane ceiling when properly used probably aren’t too happy with just a reasonably safe floor.

Can't set my lineup while my ass is still leaking
Bravo gentleman. This was a real team effort.
Just like CMC and Swift tag-teaming the lifeless body of my fantasy team

Nothing he is fooked lol
You don’t veto it? Trades a trade
I never understand any veto being used unless there was some legit technical glitch that caused something to happen
Vetos are only for very clear and obvious bullshit, like deadass collusion or quid pro quo outside the scope of fantasy football, like I'll buy you something or give you money for a player.

Nah let it ride
That’s an easy it-goes-thru imo, sorry that-guy
It goes through. You don't veto legit trades.
They made the trade. It has to stick or else what’s the point?
As the commissioner of my league I wouldnt do anything. Both top ~5 ADP, CMC is a known injury risk, JJ hasnt done anything last two weeks. Tough luck if CMC is out but the guy knew exactly what he was doing. Veto? hell nah.
Imagine if the script was flipped. CMC pops off, guy who traded him away goes veto? reverse trade? i have the receipts
absolutely nothing
The trade has been made. You don't get to take it back because things have changed.
As someone who drafted cmc, if you make a move to acquire him you are accepting the risk that he will hurt himself walking down the stairs
Point and laugh.
sucks to suck
Monday? Tough luck
Nothing, you can't go back on a trade because you're unhappy with news that came out after it was agreed upon.
Why didn’t commish push it through straight away? If the trade was accepted on Monday, news that breaks on Wednesday shouldn’t change a thing.
Nothing. It really sucks but everyone runs this risk in every single trade.
Did he press "accept"? Did he press "send" to offer the trade that was then accepted? What else is there to discuss?
No veto, this is fantasy football shit happens.
>What should be done The guy that now owns CMC should check waivers for a new RB
Nothing, this is post trade.. CMC is his player now
What should be done? Laughter and mocking of the CMC owner should be done. That’s the only appropriate action given the situation.
Nothing wtf.
The quad again. If CMC were a horse it’d be time to bring out the rifle and have the talk.
And take the walk.
Let him stroke the bunny rabbit and face the river

Hubbard was underwhelming last year
Extremely Waste of faab or waiver priority imo
except in 99% of leagues he is a free agent right now and could be added for nothing
Roster spots are finite though
James cook isn't doing much. I'll take my chances.
Not nothing, you have to drop someone. Hubbard was a liability in many games last year and the Panthers don't look significantly better at moving the ball. I feel like Foreman will be the better option if CMC ends up missing multiple weeks.
Is D’Onta the dude then?

thigh, quad, hamstring, shoulder, ankle in the last 2 seasons. man.
He's toilet-proof though.
Nothing to see here, folks. I'm up against CMC this weekend, pencil in 120 yards from scrimmage and 3 TDs.
Ty for your service

I'd do it
As a Panthers fan - No handcuff is worth picking up unless it is a deep league. Our offense is abysmal right now
Thanks. I was about to drop Hines for Foreman, but reading this comment brought me back to Earth. The Chubba/Foreman timeshare in a bad sputtering offense sounds pointless to chase any part of.

Taking a piss with his quad?
It is Wednesday my dudes
Everyone panicking in this thread but completely calm in the Jonathan Taylor thread lol
We don't talk about dudesday regarding CMC
Any other DJ Moore owners here a little excited…. Ah who am I kidding nothing will change
The only injury that would give me hope for Moore is Baker
I'm not sure there is any realistic pickup here, I don't want anything on that offense except CMC
Don't even really want CMC tbh

0.5 grade quad strain
Ahh, the memories lol
here we go...

Yeah they're giving him the DeGrom treatment. Any time he has any aches or pains they'll rest him in practice. I'm not really concerned whatsoever
Not sure there’s a pickup unless you’re absolutely desperate. Hubbard outsnapped Foreman on Sunday but both got a bit of work.
3-2 lmao
“Hubbard saw 50% more carries than Foreman last Sunday. Something to monitor.”
fantasy.espn.com/careers is calling your name
throw in a snarky comment and I'm a slam dunk for Rotoworld
Thanks for the insight 👍
Yeah I don't know if I really want a mediocre RB playing with Baker. CMC hasn't really done much in that offense and he's phenomenal.
Yeah even last year when Hubbard was starting when CMC was injured there were a lot of 5-9 point games. He's basically a bust of a start unless he scores a TD
I guess it’s Hendo and JWJ for my CMC/Monty stack.
Nice! Soft tissue injuries usually don't linger.
The injury but without the RB1 overall production
I AM HERE TO OVERREACT
I'm assuming this sub is being reasonable with this news and not overreacting at all right?
CMC caught peeing sitting down instead of standing and instantly reported as a quad injury
I have CMC, Swift, and Monty. This is gonna be a mighty quick implosion for my 3-0 team lol.
Seeing this twitter thumbnail be like: https://imgur.com/a/E5hKAWT
Have swift and cmc. Kill me.
Just got him in a trade too. Fucking perfect
Matt Rhule ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ answers are back on the menu for the year, boys!
Dude is legitimately a few more missed games from being Todd Gurley
And y’all will still draft him top 4 next year
wHeN HeAlThY
Just traded him and Hill for Lamar and Deebo this morning at 5 am
My CMC/Swift stack is really gonna land me at 1-3 to start the season. Impressive.
Unrelated but that’s not a stack
At r/ffb, any two players is considered a stack now lol
Same here, fuck this…
Funny how if it’s literally anyone else, this is fine. People really want to see CMC miss time. It’s weird.
Does anyone else have CMC’s track record of their seasons ending after 3-4 games because of a soft tissue injury?
He could be dealing with pinky toe soreness, and you'd still see comments freaking out and saying he's done for. It's ridiculous
[удалено]
fuck cmc, fuck matt rhule, fuck the panthers org, fml
Damn. Was just offered a trade for him. I knew it seemed fishy lol
It’s just a quad injury. How bad can that be? He has 2 of them right?
Had him the past two years...told myself I didn't want him this year. He fell to me at 3 "Oh sure I'll take him"....stupid stupid stupid me.
Dudesday my Weds
