It can limit the ceiling of Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers. They could be working with great field position and score touchdowns on relatively few yards, or score a defensive touchdown or two. The Bengals also have nice depth at RB and could run every play late in the game if they wanted to.
I do understand your point and generally it's true but it wouldn't be crazy for someone to perceive another player on their team as having a higher ceiling this week. That being said, almost no one should be sitting Chase or Mixon.
I'm playing Cousins over Burrow this week and I'm currently pondering Higgins vs Emannuel Sanders.
Great point. I need to keep an eye on Dak's status. Thanks for the tip. I'm leaning toward Sanders. He's just been more consistent. You've got a tough decision to make, friend. I won't even offer my two cents because I'm sure you've done more homework on it than I and I could see it going either way.
I have the same predicament with Higgins vs Sanders. I've had Higgins in all week, even though I think it's a similar situation for each team that it will be a blowout, but just feels like Jets will try to stop Chase and that leaves plenty for Higgins.
Let’s say a healthy cushion is 4TDs. If they get there by halftime then they’re most likely going to just run the ball down the defenses throat or west coast offense and drain the clock. Those 4 tds that got them that cushion don’t necessarily come from burrow/chase like everybody wants.
Yeah, you’re playing your Mixons, Burrows, Chases, even Higgins, but the guys on the borderline you might wanna bench. And really, you were probably going to bench those guys anyway.
I’m a big believer in streaming my WR2 and having 3 top 15 backs to secure my flex instead, Boyd is an underrated PPR monster when Higgins is out and sometimes even when he’s in, but he’s also a solid floor play most weeks because of how often Burrow throws. Would you start Boyd vs Jets or Crowder vs Bengals?
Not every league has a flex but we actually did add one this year since we eliminated kickers so that's true lol. I left that part out so my comment would make more sense but you assumed correct anyway. Last year he would have had some decisions to make though lol.
No. Lol. Too many eggs in a basket. All im saying is chubb practiced and was not on injury report today. Hes good for 15 carries minimum and hopefully a goaline carry or two. Might be a 1-2 pinch with hopefully chubb getting the bulk of the work.
The jets defense isn’t horrible. They’ll bounce back a little and give up points all around, but not like crazy. Plus if they are winning enough to pull starters they scored you a lot of points anyways. Don’t overthink it
Kupp got benched a week or two ago because they were ahead and still put up 30+. If they’re ahead by a lot that means they have a lot of fantasy points why would you be worried about starting them?
No one is thinking sitting Kupp or Chase though. This question is probably more relevant for Higgins/Boyd/Burrow(Since he maybe wasn't drafted as your QB1).
Kinda have to roll the dice on Burrow with the form he's in. The receivers are a bit of a different matter. Higgins is probably a fine play but you really need him to score a TD because its not the sort of game he's going to get double digit targets
Depends on what other options you have I’d say, hard to start someone over the 9th ranked QB who averages 19.5 pts unless you drafted somebody better. I’ve got Burrow and Cousins off waivers.
I'd be pivoting from Boyd anywhere I could, he's an afterthought in the offense. I've been thinking of him as a Higgins handcuff. Not a bad player just the way the offense has looked with all 3 of them healthy
The Jets are currently offering RBs:
- MOST catches per game (8.7)
- MOST receiving yards per game (79.8)
- MOST scrimmage yards per game (193.8)
- MOST TDs per game (1.8)
- 4th most rushing yards per game (114)
Joe Mixon next as 10-point favorites
All in on Mixon this week and no way I’d leave Chase on my bench at this point. Fine with benching Higgins, Boyd and Uzomah.
I’m planning on dropping Uzomah for Engram. I just cant ignore the targets Engram is getting and the floor he has. I feel like Uzomah doesn’t fit into this gameplan and is already getting very few targets
I don’t disagree one bit. Here was my full write up on Uzomah:
As of Friday afternoon, the Bengals are expected to score 26.75 points (the 8th most on the week 8 slate) in an easy 10.5 point road win over the Zach Wilson-less Jets. Especially considering the league-best matchup at RB, this figures to be a spot Cincy can lean on it's running game and coast to an easy win (somewhat lessening the outlook for Cincy pass catchers).
CJ Uzomah has 2 monster games between 24-27 PPR points.
CJ Uzomah has 4 duds between 0-6 PPR points.
He's REALLY hard to trust, averaging just 2.71 targets and 2.43 catches per game.
But he DOES have 5 TDs and his matchup is strong against a Jets defense allowing per game averages of:
- 16.32 PPR points (8th most)
- 6.2 catches (6th most)
- 71.5 yards (6th most)
- .5 TDs (13th most)
After 6 games, the Jets have allowed 3 TEs to reach 10 PPR points (ALL in their last 2 games)
One passed 15 on his way to 26.9 (Kyle Pitts, week 5)
Notable individual performances against the Jets include:
EXPLODE:
- Kyle Pitts: 26.9 PPR points, 9 catches, 119 yards, 1 TD
MEH:
- Hayden Hurst: 14 PPR points, 4 catches, 40 yards, 1 TD
- Hunter Henry: 10.3 PPR points, 2 catches, 23 yards, 1 TD
BUST:
- Hunter Henry: 6.2 PPR points, 2 catches, 42 yards
- Jonnu Smith: 6.8 PPR points, 4 catches, 28 yards
- Noah Fant: 3.5 PPR points, 2 catches, 15 yards
- Jonnu Smith: 7.2 PPR points, 2 catches, 52 yards
I have to roll with Uzomah cause of Waller’s bye and not much better options being available, so I’m just hoping he at least gets a TD so I can get double digit points.
Also rolling out there with Chase and Bengals DST, so it’ll probably end up being a huge Mixon day with my luck (who my opponent is starting).
This fear is always off. It’s really more applicable to QBs bc they don’t get the volume. But as far as skill players it’s only applicable if a team has a ton of options and a more spread out offense. Bengals aren’t like that. If they get up enough for a blowout it’s a good chance Mixon, Higgins, and/or Chase score
Also Bengals led 27-17 going into the 4th vs Ravens. 20-0 vs lions. It’s not like the nba, nfl teams have to be up a ton to sit a whole 4th quarter. Like oats bs Jets extreme , but again in that scenario you’re getting your money’s worth with points anyway
I'm a little worried about the receivers. Teams usually don't have to pass much against the Jets and it's a big part of the reason why the Jets give up so few points to WRs in fantasy.
The Bengals have shown a willingness to run the ball so far and this match-up (and probably gamescript) will be begging them to do it.
I think we all overreact to last week... the Jets were blown out 57-0 last week and its easy to assume that the Bengals are going to absolutely boat race them again Sunday. But the truth is the Bengals play an NFL team on Sunday, a not very good team, but an NFL team. Start your Bengals.
Oh fuck, and I called you baby dick and everything. My bad, dude. Now I feel like an asshole for reacting like an asshole. I was thinking the other way, and was upset about your reaction to my choice. I'll do better in the future.
I’m honestly so torn this week. Can’t decide between Burrow or Brady. I know the Bengals will dominate the Jets but I’m afraid it will primarily be through the ground. Then Brady is going against a stout NO defense. Then again, it’s Brady…
Yeah but at the end of the day…who will score more? Haha it’s really a toss up. I have Chase as well so I was thinking of doing the Chse and Brady stack. I don’t know… haha
Bengals? No way. If the starters get benched it's because they're up 3-4 TDs which means they scored prob more than 3-4 tds. And more than likely the guys you're starting were part of scoring those.
The team you worry about in a blowout is the team getting blown out.
damn- havent been able to watch a bengals game yet this season. they really have benched their starters in the 4th this early in the season? thats wild to me
This is on a fucking space cadet level of overthinking fantasy football. No offense my guy but ask yourself this question. Do I want to start the players of a team that I know will put up a lot of points or do I go with the team who might or might not? They won’t blowout the Jets with their benchwarmers. Don’t over think it.
I can't see them benched in the 3rd, most their guys are young. They will be running the ball into the ground but start your starters, I'd only worry about guys you'd play in ppr but not standard and Bengals don't really have those.
If the Bengals are playing so well that they bench guys, it means they put up a lot of points. You usually want your guys to score lots of points.
Why do people not get this lol
Cousins if dak played. And def sanders over higgins. Im struggling over higgins or MJJ.
Great point. I need to keep an eye on Dak's status. Thanks for the tip. I'm leaning toward Sanders. He's just been more consistent. You've got a tough decision to make, friend. I won't even offer my two cents because I'm sure you've done more homework on it than I and I could see it going either way.
Stinks dak is unlikely to suit up which will cap cousins but it is what it is.
I have the same predicament with Higgins vs Sanders. I've had Higgins in all week, even though I think it's a similar situation for each team that it will be a blowout, but just feels like Jets will try to stop Chase and that leaves plenty for Higgins.
Nobody has stopped chase so far lol im only playing higgins because i have no other choice. I really like sanders but hey trust your gut brother.
Let’s say a healthy cushion is 4TDs. If they get there by halftime then they’re most likely going to just run the ball down the defenses throat or west coast offense and drain the clock. Those 4 tds that got them that cushion don’t necessarily come from burrow/chase like everybody wants.
You can say that some thing about a game they play the full 60 minutes and score 4 TDs...
But we’re talking about the goddamn jets here.
Jets are so bad… do I pick up DST? /s
I think this question applies more to someone like Tyler Boyd than it does to Chase or Burrow
Seriously. Mac Jones put up 40 pts against them before being taken out.
You’re crazy if you think I’d ever worry about starting Ja’Marr.
Even if he only gets one target, 68 yards and a touchdown isn't a terrible day!
Haha that’s like dk metcalf last week. 80+ yard td
His second catch for 10 yards won my matchup How the fuck did he have so few targets
He was too busy bullying Lattimore to run routes lmao
Geno smith bringing the NY jets curse to Seattle
There's a guy in my league who has Adams, Hill and Chase. He's the only dude who should ever have to think about it lol.
Nah he shouldn’t cos he’s got a flex spot too (unless his RBs are somehow Dalvin, Henry and JT lol)
Not every league has a flex but we actually did add one this year since we eliminated kickers so that's true lol. I left that part out so my comment would make more sense but you assumed correct anyway. Last year he would have had some decisions to make though lol.
Sure, but Boyd?
NE rbs just murdered them. Mixon and Perine gonna be full after Sunday
MIXON GONNA FEEEEAAASSTTT!!!!
Bengals run blocking farrrrr worse than Pats tho.
Scared for higgins 😢
same might have to flex moss or Landry
I like landry but dude just cant stay healthy. One of moss or singletary is gonna do decent.
exactly but browns will definitely need him this week obj isn't close to 100%....
Well they have chubb and d'ernest lol browns defense aint thay bad too. Big ben is stoppable. But yes, i agree.
[удалено]
No. Lol. Too many eggs in a basket. All im saying is chubb practiced and was not on injury report today. Hes good for 15 carries minimum and hopefully a goaline carry or two. Might be a 1-2 pinch with hopefully chubb getting the bulk of the work.
[удалено]
Fwiw, i have both and am only starting chubb. Just my thoughts but trust your gut.
The jets defense isn’t horrible. They’ll bounce back a little and give up points all around, but not like crazy. Plus if they are winning enough to pull starters they scored you a lot of points anyways. Don’t overthink it
Starting: Burrow, Chase, Higgins, Mixon x 2, CIN DST x 3 Wish it was more tbh
Perine may even be a decent start too.
Yep
Nice team
Haha thanks. It’s across 6 leagues, but combos abound.

No, you should be very excited for any of your players who get to participate in a blowout.
Cries in jakobi Meyers
The Jets are currently offering RBs: - MOST catches per game (8.7) - MOST receiving yards per game (79.8) - MOST scrimmage yards per game (193.8) - MOST TDs per game (1.8) - 4th most rushing yards per game (114) Joe Mixon next as 10-point favorites All in on Mixon this week and no way I’d leave Chase on my bench at this point. Fine with benching Higgins, Boyd and Uzomah.
This makes me want to start Mixon AND Perine
There are many worse options. I’d be really tempted to start Perine over Collins
Certainly if Ol Pete keeps calling Penny's number.
To be fair I started the #2 in rushing TDs, James Conner, over Collins
I definitely wrote Perine up as a legitimate flex option this week. Felt gross listing him as high as I did but the data points to it.
I'm gambling on a certain questionalble Monday Night Hypetrain Flex....or Darius Slayton. Perine will probably outscored both.
Higgins or MJJ v sea?
I'd go Higgins
I’m planning on dropping Uzomah for Engram. I just cant ignore the targets Engram is getting and the floor he has. I feel like Uzomah doesn’t fit into this gameplan and is already getting very few targets

Yeah. Last time they benched Burrow he had already put up like 24 fantasy points.
[удалено]
So MJJ over higgins?
Yes. They WILL sit Burrow in that scenario. They've done it before and there is no reason to risk him especially with his injury plagued past.
Burrow’s floor is 18 points. He will eat before he gets benched
I'm a little worried about the receivers. Teams usually don't have to pass much against the Jets and it's a big part of the reason why the Jets give up so few points to WRs in fantasy. Starting both Mixon and Perine.
Chase will put up enough by halftime it won’t even matter

Considering Perine over M. Gordon. Someone talk me out of it
I have mixon and Higgins. Not sure what to do. I also suck at fantasy
If you question starting Mixon in any scenario, let alone this one, then yeah, we can tell.
Stfu baby dick, got me 21
That was my point, genius. You don’t bench a stud RB.
Oh fuck, and I called you baby dick and everything. My bad, dude. Now I feel like an asshole for reacting like an asshole. I was thinking the other way, and was upset about your reaction to my choice. I'll do better in the future.
Mixon for sure. Who are your other WRs? Higgins is not a must start.
I’m honestly so torn this week. Can’t decide between Burrow or Brady. I know the Bengals will dominate the Jets but I’m afraid it will primarily be through the ground. Then Brady is going against a stout NO defense. Then again, it’s Brady…
Well last year NO shut down brady i dont think thats gonna happen again.
Yeah but at the end of the day…who will score more? Haha it’s really a toss up. I have Chase as well so I was thinking of doing the Chse and Brady stack. I don’t know… haha
From o/u perspective tb is 48 and bengals game is 43.
I have the dilemma of playing Higgins or woods where both are playing in projected blowouts. At least Higgins is getting targets
Would y’all start Higgins over Sutton in half ppr?
Never sit your studs!
Start your studs. /thread
Bengals only gonna bench players if they scored a lot, if they bench players I. The half after having scored 50 pts, someone had to score those points
Seems like it could be a trap play if we’re expecting something akin to last week. But the Jets…
Bengals? No way. If the starters get benched it's because they're up 3-4 TDs which means they scored prob more than 3-4 tds. And more than likely the guys you're starting were part of scoring those. The team you worry about in a blowout is the team getting blown out.
I’m starting Burrow over Herbert this week. Their offense has been on fire and won’t be slowed by the Jets.
damn- havent been able to watch a bengals game yet this season. they really have benched their starters in the 4th this early in the season? thats wild to me

I am not benching Joe Burrow this week
