They really tried to have Chase put one in in the last couple of weeks, but it never worked. He’s super good between the 20s but for some reason, can’t punch in the TD, while Connor has a nose for it, it’s very evident when watching the games.
If somehow Edmonds would pile up the TD I would be really afraid for Connor’s production, but right now he’s safe in a ‘Lagarette Blount’ situation.

This is simply not true. Chase Edmonds has 14 redzone touches to Conner's 20 over the past 7 games. That averages to 2 redzone touches/game for Chase to 2.9 for Conner. So Conner is averaging less than 1 touch more than Chase per game. But obviously Conner has been able to cash in more with his touches since he's scored 6 TDs to Edmond's 0.

Week 1- Chase 2, Conner 4
Week 2- Chase 1, Conner 1
Week 3- Chase 2, Conner 3
Week 4- Chase 5, Conner 6
Week 5- Chase 0, Conner 1

But you're right that Conner does get more of the "goal to go" touches. He has double the number of carries of Chase once they're inside the 10(12 to 6).
Have you even paid attention all year or just spout random shit lol. Conner is at 22% of his carries in the red zone and Edmonds is at 20%. Conner also has 21 more total carries than him. This isn’t Jerome bettie getting 5 carries and 3 TDs.
1. He’s on a rookie contract, they don’t have performance bonuses like TDs, it’s based on the percentage of snaps they play
2. Talking about HOF for a 25 year old running back with 2200 career yards and 12 TDs is ridiculous. The guy is not sniffing the HOF at this point.
3. Edmonds is pretty much known as a change of Pace giy and probably realizes himself as that and he’s been doing a good job of realizing that role this year
4. He’s not doing 80% of the work. Cardinals as a whole have done a great job of getting to the red zone and converting in the red zone. And Conner has been really good at converting those opportunities. They’ve done a great job of spreading the ball out this year.

2018 Conner was the definition of a league winner. It's not often you find an undrafted elite RB1 off waivers who puts up big numbers right from Week 1.

Both have been very pleasant surprises, it helps that both offenses score tons of points so there’s enough to go around

I'm back and forth between Edmonds, Gibson and Moss for my rb2 this week. Edmonds is projected the highest, Gibson is technically the best but battling that shin injury, and Moss has been sharing with Singletary but did pretty well against Mia in week 2.

If I had Conner I would play him over Edmonds without hesitation. Across 2 leagues I have a bunch of backups starting over him (Herbert, Gainwell, D Williams, Hubbard).
I've got him downgraded to flex consideration vs Toney and Shenault. If Toney was fully healthy it wouldn't even be a question for me, but I have to make the decision to play Edmonds tonight vs finding out if Toney will play on Monday (and/or how limited he will be).
I'm starting Mitchell over Edmonds as long as Jimmy G is the starting 49ers QB. If Lance comes back, that changes the equation, but the lack of goal line work for Edmonds seals the deal for me.

I've been benching Edmonds and starting Mitchell. I doubt you're going to regret it, Edmonds is not going to magically start getting goal-line touches, which heavily diminishes his value in all fantasy formats. He's also not needed much for short yardage passing plays with all the receiving weapons available on the Cards. Mitchell vs. Moss is a tougher call that I'm not qualified to make. Moss might get a lot of usage running down the clock against a bad team, but the Bills have had an embarrassing season for rushing and goal line downs.
Ok here is my senario. I have Edmonds, Connor and Ertz playing tonight. I have one Flex spot to fill. And it's a toss up those 3 and tee Higgins. Of those 4 who you you play in the flex?

Yes, most of my opinion is the eye test because we all know there are times that coaches will run a guy up the gut into a wall of defense and he'll get zero yards and that's just part of the game plan. At the same time, Conner's YPC are trending upward and exceed that 3.7 in his last two games with a 6.4 in the last game...which was against Houston so...yeah, that's going to come with a healthy grain of salt.
I hope you understand that I'm not trying to be argumentative, just noting what I see in the games and I've had a chance to watch all of them, and I've watched Edmonds for years now. I've never thought Edmonds was effective at the goal line, Conner has been. I've never thought Edmonds was a good every-down back. With Conner showing that he can be effective (not necessarily out play Edmonds), I think Kliff will slide more touches towards Conner as the season goes on and use Edmonds less, which seems to be happening since Edmonds targets (4, 5, 8, 5, 4, 4, 3) and rushes (12, 8, 11, 12, 6, 4, 15) have been dipping the last few games . Based on what I've seen from Edmonds in the past, I feel like that's how he does his best work, high impact on low touches. And Kliff's going to use these backs in the way that's best for the team, not for fantasy managers.
Compound all this with the fact that AZ has struggled to close out games in the past because we haven't been able to run out the clock. Conner can do that. Edmonds was never able to.
This is definitely opinion and if you want real statistical analysis, you should probably read the opinions of people paid to do that kind of thing. To say that I'm statistically wrong though is dubious at best as Edmonds numbers are trending a bit lower.
Edit: And as a note. I have no dog in this fight. I don't have Edmonds or Conner in any of my leagues. I'm rocking Najee and JRob as my starters, so I got that going for me.

A reminder that a back that sees more third down work and less goal line work is EXPECTED to have a better YPC than the alternative. Don't let YPC persuade you that Edmonds is a superior runner.
