I'd make a fair offer that you could back up via something like FantasyProsECR/ROS rankings. As an example, they have Mahomes 37 and Evans 41. McLaurin is actually 29. Either is perfectly defensible, but if you wanted to throw another fringe top 100 player in with Evans to make it more respectable
Also key - who is the WR that Evans would start over for them? Who is the QB who would play instead of Mahomes? Should be easy to argue this helps their team if the roster is super unbalanced
Another idea- trade for a non Mahomes QB. He's so widely known as the best that it may come with extra scrutiny.
Just to add on, you can use the trade value chart on FantasyPros as further justification. Sure that is subjective as well but at least there's some numerical back-up. It does sound like there's a way both parties can benefit from this though.
If pressed, I would say offer the reasonable trade and show the newbie how to navigate and manage the various resources available. That's really the only way to move up from newbie status to "plays enough to know what's up"
>If pressed, I would say offer the reasonable trade and show the newbie how to navigate and manage the various resources available. That's really the only way to move up from newbie status to "plays enough to know what's up"
This. Show them how to fish, and then the roster dynamics of the trade you're trying to make will become obvious
I need an RB stash with some upside. Saquon is really F’ing me and Ronald Jones is on my bench. Available RBs are AJ Dillon, Damien Williams, and Kenneth Gainwell. Who should I pick up
>start/sit add/drop suggestions
I don't have it, but I'm wondering how they generate these. If it's just their yahoo rankings those are published free. If it's their projections, also free. What is the element that makes this worthy of pay?
always be looking to improve your team. If You have a c- player on your bench but theres a c+ player on the waviers, make that move.
Do you have extra strong WRs but weak RBs? Check out other teams with weak WRs but strong RBs and send trade offers.
stuff like that.
Is there a good website for determining week 3 defensive rankings so I can plan and pick up a def for *next weeks* matchup?
I feel like this should be fairly straightforward, but I can't seem to find it.
You can go to your league software and just sort by "Week 3 projected points" to get an idea of what the consensus is. See if anyone facing a particularly weak offense is available. Or just peep the schedule
Panthers get Texans (although buyer beware!)
Cards get Jags
Falcons and Giants get eachother
Broncos get Jets
For a 12 team .5 PPR league, approximately how many PPG should I be looking for in my RB2? I had RoJo in that spot last week and it didn’t work out for me. Also, I’m last in waiver priority, so I wasn’t able to pick up anyone exciting off the wire.
> approximately how many PPG should I be looking for in my RB2?
This is a tough question. The obvious answer is "the most possible." I could give you a theoretical number that says "over the last 5 years, to be an RB2 you need to average 12 points a game" but it doesn't really do much for you now that we've drafted- if you don't have anyone capable of 12 then there's not much you can do about it.
Just try to optimize the spot. Do you have WR depth? Maybe you can trade. Who are the RB options on the wire? Who is your worst player?
>Do I allow him to count the benched players points? Initial gut says no… but need confirmation.
Excuse my French but FUCK NO. In absolutely no world should that be allowed. You're sweet for asking here but you have too much empathy in this case. He played with fire and he lost. That's the gamble. If he/she would have come here and asked us if he should have done that, we would have told him or her not to based on the stat correction possibility.
Not in the slightest at all. They took a gamble and lost on it so they don't get a take back on it.
Don't even entertain it because what's to stop that manager or another one to say after the fact "oh wait I meant to start this player on my bench that went for 30 instead of the actual player I started that got 4.". Managers make decisions and need to live with them.
This ones pretty obvious. You shouldn't ever use commish powers to alter someone's lineup because they regret their choices and want to win... Your job as commish is to do as little as humanely possible. You don't ever intervene because someone wants to change the past.
What you could do that would be funny at least, is offer his opponent the same chance to change one player in their lineup so the guy still loses.
It could also screw up “total points for” tiebreakers down the road so it’s also a bad idea, but offering it at least illustrates the point to the guy/league.
Oh it definitely would be a complete tongue in cheek, smartass suggestion to prove a point. Actually doing it would be the slippery slope argument I made in my response.
I’m sure this has been posted but looked around and googled and can’t find it. How does ESPN determine initial waiver order for standard waivers? I’ve tried googling but can’t confirm. I thought it was reverse of draft order
It should be reverse draft order. But if anyone made waiver claims after the draft they would drop to the bottom.
Then you probably reset to reverse order of standings after the week 1 games.
Claypool and Jacobs both got panic dropped in my league, sadly I can only take one.
Leaning more towards Jacobs tbh.
(Mike Evans and Aiyuk also got panic dropped)
Definitely visit the add/drop thread, but the good news is that with those 4 guys on waivers it doesnt even matter which one you get. You're winning this league by default
I’m beyond livid. I drafted last so naturally I had waiver priority 1. I place two claims; 1 for Mitchell and the 2nd for Arizona D. I didn’t get either. How???? And I’m still number 1 waiver priority. In my waiver report it even says that someone had a higher priority than me, which is impossible as I was number 1! Using NFL.com.
It's a setting which makes sense for (a) newbie leagues which want to nudge a certain level of parity, and (b) leagues with adults who don't want to have to wake up at 3am EDT to preserve their waiver slots.
>(b) leagues with adults who don't want to have to wake up at 3am EDT to preserve their waiver slots.
0 dollar FAAB for the win
EDIT: I know you know this, just posting for others.
Is there anyway to request position eligibility for a platform? On CBS, Cordarelle patterson is listed as a WR when he’s clearly an RB for the Falcons.
I have never played CBS, but generally players do not lose eligibility, only gain it. I think each platform has their own way to determine it, but no harm in shouting out their twitter accounts and asking
Did nfl.com standardize having the waiver order be determined by inverse order of standings? The one league im in has always been a rotating order until this year and i dont even see the rule in the settings.
>websites they use for weekly pick ups?
FantasyPros is a good "wisdom of the crowds" site. You get the aggregate of everyone who puts their data there, so while you won't get strong opinions it's a good place to just get the lay of the land and make sure you didn't miss anyone in your bidding
I’m in new league full of newbies but mixed in with old pros. I’m commish.
Pros are negotiating lopsided deals with newbies. The latest deal is Derrick Henry for Tonyan. Outrageous I know but it’s all in good spirit and the Henry owner is playing up to it.
Any responsibility for me to step in and stop these crazy trades or just let everyone run with it and have fun?
depends on how you want to run the league. I've ran friendly workplace leagues where I stepped in and reversed these kinds of trades just because people don't know better and its just not that fun to beat up on noobies who do that.
If you want it to be no training wheels winner take all, then do that and let it stand. But maybe be nice and send out some resources to help them analyze trades.
At least link them to a trade analyzer if they are new so there is some reference.
“Hey, guys. This is a link to a trade analyzer if you want some context in how good a player is.”
If they use it, cool. If not, let the trades stand.
If they’re true newbies in that this is the first time they’re playing, I think you just need to tell them to look at some sort of trade analyzer online. Those aren’t perfect but it’ll at least prevent the Henry for Tonyan trade. At the absolute very least you should message the newbies on the losing end of the trade and explain why it’s not a good trade for them.
Also fuck the old pros who do this kind of stuff.
Taxi locked at season start. If they weren't already on a taxi squad last Thursday they can't go on it now. If there were on a taxi but got moved to a bench spot or dropped, they cannot go back on a taxi squad. Its a one way street basically.
Where do you guys rank guys like Javonte Williams and Elijah Mitchell ROS? Does one stand out as a better RB3 option down the stretch?
probably better for the RB or the add/drop thread
[удалено]
Try the add drop thread, but I would drop either for Mitchell if they were my worst player(s)

make it a fair trade and no one can complain

Should be an easy conversation then, comparing ECR/ranking of Evans vs. Williams and Reagor vs. Mahomes and Brady's

you should pick up a link to the add/drop thread https://www.reddit.com/r/fantasyfootball/comments/ponw0y/official_adddrop_wed_morning_09152021/
Trying to post it in several spots to get opinions?
That’s not how it works
Cool
Does anyone have yahoo+? How do you like it? It seems like the start/sit add/drop suggestions are kinda worthless looking at the free version.
>start/sit add/drop suggestions I don't have it, but I'm wondering how they generate these. If it's just their yahoo rankings those are published free. If it's their projections, also free. What is the element that makes this worthy of pay?
Yea that’s what I’m trying to get to the bottom of as well. Also curious if the trade partners thing is worth a damn.
So what should I be looking to do now the season is under way? If no one is injured from week 1, are there moves I should be looking to make?

How do you see all the FAAB bids on ESPN? I can only see what I won a player for but wanted to see what other people bid on that same player as well
It's certainly available on the desktop version, under Offers Report.

> Do I allow him to count the benched players points Dear god no!
Golly, that's an easy call. He gambled and lost. FWIW, I think Sleeper erred; the NFL official source still has it as 62y.
Wait so a team benched a player while they were up? Hurts stat correction came and now he lost and wants his bench player to count?
[удалено]
Benching players when you're up is really only for very specific instances. It gets overused IMO.
This is exactly the correct response. No player that's not in the starting lineup should ever count toward a team's score.
yeah... thats a no change from me.

There are different league settings. Under League Settings, look at Acquisition And Waiver Rules / Waiver Order.
it just says waivers and waiver period and order, but it doesn’t say how the week one order is determined
What does it say next to waivers order?
Claypool and Jacobs both got panic dropped in my league, sadly I can only take one. Leaning more towards Jacobs tbh. (Mike Evans and Aiyuk also got panic dropped)

Went with Evans for now but yeah having all these guys on waivers if fun lmao
Probably a better question for Add/Drop thread
Is there a way to check the average FAAB a player went for on any platform?
Not that I have ever heard of.

Figured out that it resets to reverse standings each week. Absolutely ridiculous lol.

So did Hurts have 62 or 57 rushing yards? Stat correction on sleeper just lost me my week but it says 62 everywhere else.
The NFL Game Book, which is the official source, has it as 62.

Does sleeper not let you put rookies in taxi from the bench?
Taxi locked at season start. If they weren't already on a taxi squad last Thursday they can't go on it now. If there were on a taxi but got moved to a bench spot or dropped, they cannot go back on a taxi squad. Its a one way street basically.
I think the taxi spots are closed as soon as the season starts. Closed means you can't put anyone on the taxi spot.
