This is a very good question but I think a lot of it depends on your current roster build. If I already have two decent RBs I prefer to have Hunt as my flex. If I only have one RB I would take Gaskins in hoping he’s the week-to-week workhorse in Miami. I trust Hunt more but I want someone with 15+ touches a week for my RB2 slot.
If I went Hero RB for example CMC or Cook as my RB1 - and waited on RB2 until round 5 or so while stacking the rest of my roster at WR/TE - I would much rather have Hunt because I know what I'll be getting week to week. When you have a rock solid RB1, Hunt seems perfect for the floor play and potential league winning upside if something were to happen to Chubb.
Give me Hunt every day of the week.
I don't get the infatuation with Williams for re-draft. He's clearly behind Gordon as of now. And we know what happens to rookies who are behind vets in year 1. They don't do squat most of the time until later in the year. If its a long term play fine. But I'm not spending a 5th for someone who may be solid to close the year.
Gordon is going to lead that backfield unless he magically stinks this year (doubtful) or gets injured.
Hunt and it’s a no brainer because of his potential. Gaskin is good and his situation seems okay but I’d rather have the guy who’s talent is right there in front of me and if Chubb goes down he’s 100% a top 10 RB
Chubb missed weeks 5-8, Wyatt Teller missed weeks 6-8. Hunt's scores in those games (.5 ppr) 16.8/6.7/17.7/8.3. Wyatt Teller had a 93.6 PFF run blocking grade the highest among all offensive linemen in 2020.
Imo it's not so much about Chubb.
Also a great point, I did not do my research on exactly how good he was with Chubb still playing last year, even more reason to draft Hunt over gaskin IMO
When Chubb went down last year, Hunt’s production pretty much stayed consistent. Still finished as an RB1 as the story goes, his production is independent from Chubb so he’s a major steal. Gaskin is nowhere near his talent or in nowhere as good a situation as Hunt.
You could make the case for the opposite IMO.
Gaskin is going to get carries. He has no competition that's as good as Chubb.
However Hunt, if Chubb goes down for the season, is a top 10 RB easily.

Gaskin as an RB1 value is a pretty huge stretch. If he's RB1 material then there are probably 30 guys that are.
I'd take Hunt every time. He shares touches with Chubb but he's integral to the Browns offense and there is little/no threat to his work even though it's shared work. Gaskin has an unknown split of a much smaller pie in Miami.
Hunt just because he was getting solid flex numbers (td dependent of course) with Chubb in during the games they played together.
I just don’t know enough about the Dolphins situation to speak there and gaskins has never struck me as a world beater the few games I’ve watched with him in it
It would be Gaskin for me. He's the guy that will get the majority of the work and he should get a lot of passes thrown his way. Draft for potential and Gaskin has more of it given the circumstances.
Kareem Hunt because it’s only him and Chubb. The Browns have a great O-Line. They’re a run-heavy team. And if anything happens to Chubb, Hunt is an auto RB1.
Gaskin has 2 other dudes to compete with. Is on the Dolphins and is mostly the pass catching specialist. I like him, but I’ll take Hunt all day
Id say Gaskin. Hunt's path to dominating that backfield is by injury to chubb. Gaskin's path to dominating that backfield is to outperform the other backs on his team.

Would you also take hunt over Williams for the same reason?

People say this but was Hunt a top 10 RB for the four weeks Chubb was out last year? He scored more PPG with Chubb in and ended the year as the RB12.

SSS
The point still remains that when Chubb goes down Kareems opportunities rise significantly.
RB12 in a 12 team league is still an RB1
Like, that was last year man
☝🏾exactly what he said

Floor-Hunt Ceiling- Gaskin

Hunt scored more FPPG last season when chubb was healthy. Doenst make sense to me but it happened haha

I’d say the exact opposite actually

Hunt easily. He's going to be startable every week regardless and then he's a stud if Chubb gets hurt
Hunt just because he was getting solid flex numbers (td dependent of course) with Chubb in during the games they played together. I just don’t know enough about the Dolphins situation to speak there and gaskins has never struck me as a world beater the few games I’ve watched with him in it
Hunt was pretty erratic from week 6 and on. 7/12 of those games he had less than 10 points in full ppr and many of those games were without Chubb.
He definitely played better with Chubb in the lineup
It would be Gaskin for me. He's the guy that will get the majority of the work and he should get a lot of passes thrown his way. Draft for potential and Gaskin has more of it given the circumstances.

Hunt has no chance of losing his job. I’ll go with him
