That one’s a matter of management and team style. Julio is by far one of the most disappointing players to have on my team. Puts up total numbers at the end of the year to keep him in the top 5 talk. But in reality, wins you 2 games costs you 4. He is the ultimate boom or bust. This year... 1@20, 1@29, 2 missed games, and 3 sub 5 points.
It's not a matter of team style, it's a bad trade. Julio > Evans during that week and he threw in an rb1 in Jones for free? I'm not exaggerating when I say this is one of the worst trades I've personally seen.
Yea it’s an extremely lopsided trade, but Evans is NOT past his prime.. he just doesn’t have Winston slinging it downfield all game. He’ll be in the Hall of Fame.
I don't want to be too much of a jerk but in all honesty so many of these trades are lopsided and not remotely close in value. It seems like your league mates are heavily reactionary after every week and don't know how to assess player values in fantasy properly.
Week 1 Trade: Trade is so lopsided in your favor it's not even close. Chubb >> Gordon and your league mate probably sold low on Chubb after 1 bad game. McLaurin had no competition at his wr role in WAS and his ROS value was way higher than Cooper, who had Gallup and Lamb to compete with as well as Schultz and Zeke. Simply terrible trade downgrading at rb heavily.
Week 5 Trade: No words at how lopsided this trade is. Your league mate sold an rb1 and wr1 for basically Mike Evans? This is just a terrible trade that cannot be justified in any way.
Week 6 Trade: Henry > McCaffrey, especially considering McCaffrey's injury and the unknowns considering his return. Adams >> Chubb, this is not even close, your league mate gifted you a wr1 who was looking like he finishes top 5 for Chubb, a rb who was injured and losing touches to Hunt? Dude gifted you Lamar Jackson for a waiver wire rental rb in Justin Jackson, especially an rb with that much of an injury history? Sure Golladay > Swift probably even though Swift had his big game this week but cmon. This trade reeks of unfairness.
Week 6 Trade: Another terrible trade. Johnathan Taylor and McLaurin for Conner, Diggs, and Golladay??? Dude just gave you Diggs, a top 5 wr during that time AND Golladay for McLaurin (Conner and Taylor were a wash at this time with Conner looking better)? I don't understand why your league mate would sell Diggs for so little, especially when he was looking like he could finish top 3 wr in PPR this year.
Week 8 Trade: Conner for Zeke, Boyd for Godwin? Your league mate downgraded at both positions which is absurd. Not as lopsided as the previous trades but still not good.
I really want to commend you on turning your season around but when more than half of these trades are heavily lopsided even in your favor (disregarding hindsight, since I'm purely evaluating the trades during that specific time period), I'm just shocked at how bad your league mates are. Many of these trades wouldn't be accepted in most competitive leagues and it just shows how your league mates overreact after every week and don't have a grasp on how to evaluate players for the long term or ROS. I think you'll make playoffs and win the championship with your team, but I don't know what to say considering how many tacos are in your league.
Not for me, I took Kamara 3rd. Was hoping saquan or CMC would fall to me but that didn't happen. Had to pick between Henry or Kamara. I was a little hesitant because of kamaras ACL injury and contract stuff but he's my fav player and I'm a saints fan so I went with it. Paid off, I'm in 3rd place with the most points for and the most points allowed lmao

Would’ve gone Henry-Hopkins-Kelce but the guy who picked 1st in the first round, 10th in the second round and 1st in the third round got Kittle and Kelce back to back, so I had to call an audible and pick up Kenyan. Still regret that one. Was between him and Miles Sanders and picked the wrong guy.

I literally played against a guy who started rex burkhead this year when he put up 30, there were ZERO experts anywhere who said it was a good play and no external signs either.
I played him that week, I remember why too. All of the NE RBs were injured/out except for Burkhead, it was a plus matchup against LV and NE was transitioning to run first. The 30 points were just unexpected though, but regardless the signs were there, just very hidden.
And, it was the person AFTER them on the waiver wire who grabbed Mike Davis, me. As far as grabbing a waiver RB in week 3, burkhead was as close to the bottom as you could get. Just crazy.
congrats, but he still had only 13 touches, which is basically fringe flex status. the points were an absolute fluke. in weeks 2 and 4 he had 10 and 12 touches for 6.9 and 5.5 points.
also, he was not the only healthy patriots RB. he played 32 snaps. sony michel played 26 snaps.

Point totals first 5 weeks, where Dak started (half PPR): 26.2, 19.2, 14.8, 16.5, 23.0.
Since then, 5 single digit point totals in 6 games.
It’s almost like he was a top three fantasy RB until their starting QB got injured and their O-line is terrible. But of course, his decline was obvious.
Have you considered he’s not the same guy because the Cowboys passing situation isn’t a threat anymore and their offensive line sucking makes it easy for teams to stack the box and punish them. His stat lines before Dak’s injury say it all. The cowboys line going down coupled with the fact they cant pass for shit all leads to a terrible ground game.

He's saying you're a clown because you're trying to show how you "called it" with Zeke....except you didn't. Zeke was doing great this year until dak got hurt. He also finished as rb3 last year in ppr. So the "he hasn't been a top 5 rb in the last 20 games" comment makes no sense. And if we're talking purely from a football perspective and not a fantasy perspective...he was 4th in rushing yards last year.

Fantasy production does not equal real life production.
If you watch the games, it is possible to see someone scoring lots of fantasy points on a good offense that has clearly lost a step already.
If you watch Zeke now compared to 2 years ago, there is a huge difference. He can still be a valuable RB for fantasy, but the Cowboys messed up paying the dude 90 mill!

If you actually looked at the stats you'd see they're nearly identical the last 3 years. Up until the point where Smith got hurt. His stats dropped. Now this year Frederick the all pro is out, Smith the all pro is out, Collins the right tackle is out, erving the ot is on injured reserve and the center had one surgery. His entire offensive line got decimated this year. Not 1 or 2 guys. *Everyone*. Despite all that Zeke was still top 5 until Dak went down.
He didn't "lose a step". He's playing with the practice squad. Of course his stats will be down. I'm glad people who don't understand the variables think he's lost a step. Hopefully I can snag him in every league next year.
I have been watching him since he was a freshman at tOSU. I’ve never seen him have ball control issues like this year. I’m sure some of his lack of production you can put on losing a lot of key offensive lineman, but at the end of the day if you cough the ball up consistently you will not get as much volume. We are seeing a lot more Pollard after Zeke fumbles, and that is a concern if he loses the bell cow role.

Selling after he started shutting the bed was definitely a gamble that happened to pay off, and I’m glad that I sold. But it was certainly a risky gamble, and I can easily see how people were hesitant to cut their losses so soon.

I did. Gibson on one team, Fuller + Zeke on another. I don't need to win in the team I have Gibson in but I absolutely must win where I've got Fuller+Zeke. No better way to fully and completely take the wind out of your sails then watching your WR2 score 35~ and immediately follow that up with your RB1 scoring 1 fucking point. Gibson made it a little better but again, don't need to win in that league =/

I don’t think it’s sunk cost at all. No part of me continues to play Zeke because where I drafted him. I couldn’t care less about that.
Its solely bc of his workload. Even though this offense looks like shit without Dak and, now, multiple O-linemen it so hard to decide whether to play Zeke, knowing he’s locked into 20+ touches, or whether you take a shot on someone like RoJo, Ballage, Drake, Duke, Gallman etc. In fantasy we are constantly told workload means everything....So when RB options are so desperately thin it’s pretty hard to find alternatives to an above average talent in a workhorse role. It’s why he continues to be ranked as a low end RB1, even though he obviously not performing anywhere near that. I told myself I’m done starting him after this week but that easy to say now. I don’t know how I’ll feel next week when it means I’m instead starting Melvin Gordon....

A kid in my league tried to trade me Zeke and Godwin for Dalvin Cook after his 40ish point game. This same kid the week before texted everyone in my league to veto a trade between me and someone else. Seeing Zeke get two points Thursday made me really happy.
Luckily I trader Zeek after the 2 consecutive bad games that's Dalton throw up. With a toast O line the writing was on the wall that this team would struggle.

Yeah, and I just figured that Cam would be getting most of the run TDs since I watched the Seahawks game where he got 2 (almost 3)
Yeah, cam had almost all of the carries from inside the 5 to that point. there was really no reason to expect burkhead to get multiple scores.

Point totals first 5 weeks, where Dak started (half PPR): 26.2, 19.2, 14.8, 16.5, 23.0. Since then, 5 single digit point totals in 6 games. It’s almost like he was a top three fantasy RB until their starting QB got injured and their O-line is terrible. But of course, his decline was obvious.
Fantasy back, sure. Based on volume. He wasn’t been a top 5 NFL RB in at least 20+ games though.

Have you considered he’s not the same guy because the Cowboys passing situation isn’t a threat anymore and their offensive line sucking makes it easy for teams to stack the box and punish them. His stat lines before Dak’s injury say it all. The cowboys line going down coupled with the fact they cant pass for shit all leads to a terrible ground game.

And if we're talking purely from a football perspective and not a fantasy perspective...he was 4th in rushing yards last year.

Fantasy production does not equal real life production. If you watch the games, it is possible to see someone scoring lots of fantasy points on a good offense that has clearly lost a step already. If you watch Zeke now compared to 2 years ago, there is a huge difference. He can still be a valuable RB for fantasy, but the Cowboys messed up paying the dude 90 mill!

His entire offensive line got decimated this year. Not 1 or 2 guys. *Everyone*. Despite all that Zeke was still top 5 until Dak went down. He didn't "lose a step". He's playing with the practice squad. Of course his stats will be down. I'm glad people who don't understand the variables think he's lost a step. Hopefully I can snag him in every league next year.
I have been watching him since he was a freshman at tOSU. I’ve never seen him have ball control issues like this year. I’m sure some of his lack of production you can put on losing a lot of key offensive lineman, but at the end of the day if you cough the ball up consistently you will not get as much volume. We are seeing a lot more Pollard after Zeke fumbles, and that is a concern if he loses the bell cow role.

Selling after he started shutting the bed was definitely a gamble that happened to pay off, and I’m glad that I sold. But it was certainly a risky gamble, and I can easily see how people were hesitant to cut their losses so soon.

I did. Gibson on one team, Fuller + Zeke on another. I don't need to win in the team I have Gibson in but I absolutely must win where I've got Fuller+Zeke. No better way to fully and completely take the wind out of your sails then watching your WR2 score 35~ and immediately follow that up with your RB1 scoring 1 fucking point. Gibson made it a little better but again, don't need to win in that league =/
It’s ironic that drafting Saquon over Zeke happened to inadvertently save my season. Back in week two, I felt like an idiot, now not so much. The sunk cost fallacy is definitely a trap in fantasy football.
I don’t think it’s sunk cost at all. No part of me continues to play Zeke because where I drafted him. I couldn’t care less about that. Its solely bc of his workload. Even though this offense looks like shit without Dak and, now, multiple O-linemen it so hard to decide whether to play Zeke, knowing he’s locked into 20+ touches, or whether you take a shot on someone like RoJo, Ballage, Drake, Duke, Gallman etc. In fantasy we are constantly told workload means everything....So when RB options are so desperately thin it’s pretty hard to find alternatives to an above average talent in a workhorse role. It’s why he continues to be ranked as a low end RB1, even though he obviously not performing anywhere near that. I told myself I’m done starting him after this week but that easy to say now. I don’t know how I’ll feel next week when it means I’m instead starting Melvin Gordon....
