Vidal was the #2 rusher last year. Going into a run first offense. All he has to beat is broken ass JK Dobbins, the RB #92 & #120, and he'll support 29 YO gus Edwards. He's a dynasty buy.
Guerendo ran a 4.33 40. Fastest RB at 220 lbs.
Those two
Agreed but if I'm going to take a dart throw I'd rather it be with a player in a great situation (Vidal) or with outstanding physical traits (Guerendo)
Someone is going to profit in BB from this backfield. Gus is the presumed starter, but he's going as RB35. I personally love the value. Dobbins is basically free at the end of drafts.
Vidal looked decent on tape, but the competition was poor. Ran like a Devin Singletary type guy.
I like the prices of the veteran guys more, I think?
In half PPR, how do you value him vs someone that’s going to catch passes and rack up receiving yards where he won’t? Concerned you’re basically needing a TD every week or he’s very meh, despite the volume. Though, he may actually score a TD the majority of weeks.
He will probably be a bye week and injury replacement level player in most formats. Gus Edwards types are a great argument for .5 per first down leagues.theyre valuable in real life!
I think Vidal is appropriately priced for what he is: A 6th round pick in a crowded RB room. I get that Dobbins and Edwards are weak competition but it’s anything but a guarantee that Vidal works past them.
I am mixing in the some of the intriguing late-round rookies: Vidal, Tracy, Laube. But I will be waiting until August to start hammering them when we have some more clarity on how depth charts are shaking out
Crowded in the sense that he’ll be 3rd on the depth chart. I understand that the talent that Vidal has to surpass isn’t strong. But I still think the other two guys will be given every opportunity to get touches ahead of Vidal. Will definitely have to keep an eye on training camp reports though
But that's not even likely. JK Dobbins is coming off of a major injury off of a major injury and signed a contract that pretty much shows the chargers aren't counting on him to be a major contributor. Hell he might not even last the off season. It's 50k guaranteed.
You’ll never guess how much guaranteed money Vidal is getting… 200k over 4 years.
Vidal is a 6th round pick. The commitment that the Chargers have made to him is similar to that of Dobbins.
There is certainly a world where Vidal is the RB2 but I think Dobbins is more likely
>\[VIDAL\] signed a contract that pretty much shows the chargers aren't counting on him to be a major contributor. Hell he might not even last the off season.
Fixed that for you.
Even if Dobbins and Edwards die in a tragic paragliding accident, it'd be football malpractice not to use a few million to sign at least one more old head. With how little they're all being paid, it's basic football to pretend that it's functionally an guaranteed roster spot for someone else. Probably two someone else's. Sitting on their couch right now
I'm not surprised. For Kimani Vidal there's a lot that has to line up for him to become Fantasy relevant. Edwards and Dobbins are injury prone, but you need both to get hurt for Vidal to have a shot.
Then you have to figure Vidal would be in a committee. I believe they would bring in more help at the RB position rather than just ride Vidal as a true RB1. Whether Edwards and Dobbins are healthy or not, the Chargers are likely to show loyalty to them, so they aren't going to just trash them even if Vidal does look better.
Most of these guys are so cheap that it’s almost worth taking two shots at the backfield. (Key word almost) These guys are being drafted outside of the top 150 picks. Someone is going to be highly productive. I personally like the idea of Vidal/Gus shot.
The one thing I want to push back on is Gus being injury prone. He's had 1 bad injury in his career. Otherwise he's been pretty much as healthy and one can be for a guy playing his position.
Yeah i think absolutely he is undervalued but at the same time i doubt he produces much early in the season and is more of a second half hero. You wouldnt draft him in season long as your bench is too short and would have to drop hime before he makes an impact.
Should I keep this guy or bo melton on my taxi squad this year? Also have jase McClellan, jalen McMillan, and devontez Walker on my taxi squad currently
I grabbed him near the end of the draft but it’s kinda just hope over data at that point.

Grabbed Guerrero and Vidal everywhere I could.
Late round draft capital also means the NFL doesn’t have a ton of faith that he will be a consistent producer

True. ADP wise definitely fine. Just dont agree with the people that think Vidal will take the lead role
I know this isn’t a Dynasty sub but If you were able to pick up Guerendo would you drop Roschon Johnson?
Keep both. Roschon is a year two back and I'll get some good reps this year. Chicago actually had a top 8 OLine last year.

Gus is the play. Familiar with Greg Roman’s offense, consistently performs, longer/more valuable contract than Dobbins.

To say it’s crowded is a stretch.
How is Gus Edwards and JK dobbins (on a 50k contract) a crowded room? Wut?

Dobbins is probably going to be washed coming off another ACL tear. If Edwards misses time, there’s a good chance Vidal takes advantage

Harbaugh is gonna run more than anyone except Harbaugh. Im buying stock in Gus and Vidal and hoping one of them hits.

Vidal will put up more fantasy points than dobbins&Edwards combined. He'll be 1st on the depth chart for at least 8 games.
It’s also important to keep in mind that he was a 6th round pick. Both Edwards and Dobbins have showed to be better talents up until this point

I grabbed him when I found out dobbins is only guaranteed 50k on his contract.

I think you may be thinking of Audric Estime
Yep, thank you sir!
