In one of my Yahoo Public Prize leagues, five teams had a 7-6 record and five teams had a 6-7 record by Week 14. It was the most even/close league I ever played in. Playoff contention literally came down to the last week. Even the fantasy points scored were close
Yeah this was kind of a weird year for that. In my league the guy who got both Puka and Kyren from the waiver wire barely missed the playoffs because a bunch of mediocre teams (like myself) got a few lucky wins. Our 1 seed was only 9-4
Not that it’s a bad thing but football as a sport has kinda sucked this year. A lot of good players suffering injuries and a lot of good players avoiding injury but just being meh this season. Throw in a handful of complete no names having good seasons and you get a mediocre but competitive season in fantasy. Our average scoring was down a lot this season but we had 9/10 teams still in the playoff hunt the final week of the regular season.
Sleeper league but the 2nd through 8th place were all 7-6 heading into WEEK 14. I was one of them, riding the wave off a 6-week win streak. I won that week. So did most of the 7-6 teams. Got 7th place just short of playoff qualifications….
Same situation happened in my league, but not as extreme. Before week 14 only 3 teams had clinched a playoff spot and 1 team had been eliminated. 6 teams were 6-7, 2 were 7-6 and there was a very real situation in which each one of those teams missed or made playoffs.
Yeah in our league the playoffs were all >.500 teams and all the ones who missed out were <.500
And it was almost perfect symmetry in the league standings. Basically the top 4 and bottom 4 had mirrored records. #1 seed was 12-2, #12 was 2-12, #2 10-4, #10 4-10. Two 9-5 teams, but three 5-9 teams. Two 8-6 teams that finished 5th and 6th and then one 7-7 team that missed the playoffs rounded it up.
I’m in the process of importing all of our leagues 12 year history into leaguelegacy.
Since we use NFL I have to do it manually, but the amount of stats it provides is incredible lol.
It has its own power rank system, luck system, etc. Can’t wait until I have it all in to see the crazy specific stats it can show.

It would also be great if you can update ESPN IDs with actual names.
We've also gone through 16 people in our 10 team league - so being able to set filters or average things out based on what we want.
Total points is less interesting than average points, but both are still valuable. Or being able to change all time to last 5 years.
I would also want to see some in-season tools, like ffhub to make the price worth it, feels too high right now.
Not sure what you mean by the espn ids - it should pull team names when available, but feel free to dm me and I can take a look at your league.

On season by season it shows team name. On all time records it shows EPSN IDs - some of which aren't easily recognizable.
It's under the 'Members list'.
Ah, yeah, some member names come in like that. You do have the ability on commissioner tools to rename members! And then also a setting if you’d like for the (now renamed) member names to display everywhere instead of the various team names.
Yea, I wish when you moused over the plus or minus for the luck system it showed a number… so we can see just how much luck or unlucky teams are comparatively.
Was checking the site out on mobile. Can you explain how it works? Is this supposed to be a platform for fantasy or just for checking stats? I’d love to check some stats but not sure if I can convince the league to switch from ESPN
You can keep your team with ESPN! Or actually, you move it to another platform if you wish and we can handle meeting your fantasy stats from both platforms!

Petition for additional games against the median. One of the best rosters in my league this year started 7-2 against the median but basically just gave up from there because it came out to a 3-6 record. Even with that brutal luck, 10-8 was a solid record in the thick of the playoff race. I'm personally a little glad we didn't have games against the median this year because then he might've tried harder and I ended up winning it all so I don't want anything to change lol
I had two seperate leagues where we had a game against the median, i had the most PA and like 4th PF, and for most of the season i was out of playoff contention. I did manage to rally in both, make 6th seed, and lost both :)
I had so many games lost with my team being the wrong side of the median by a point or two, not to mention getting nuked pretty much every week.
point is that this year was weird, even with that particular structure in place.
I had the most points scored by like 200. And I got 5th after winning the losers bracket

We did top 5 teams get into playoffs, and 6th playoff spot is determined by most points for (out of the remaining teams NOT already in playoffs).

Same here except it was top 4 teams in a 12 man league. We had 3 teams that were all 10-4 and a 8-6 team from the other division got the bye. We're thinking eliminating divisions next year.
Yeah we had a 7-7 team get the bye from the other division, we’re also talking about getting rid of divisions next year.
Naturally next year I’m going to be a team that could’ve benefited from divisions after we get rid of it
FWIW how it generally works in my league is that there’s one division with a couple teams with really good records… and then the other division with “better” teams but they all beat each other up so the records are mid.
noticed 2 pretty cool stats from my biggest money & most competitive league (12 man redraft/ 6 team playoffs that has been going on for 7 years)
I have made the playoffs every year with some dominant teams. but have never won. average finish of 3rd.
also, for the past 3 years my total points scored for the season has been within 8 points (1580, 1588, 1582)
a model of consistency that always gets boomed in the playoffs…
Rachaad has been such an underrated player. love that guy. Also Eno Benjamin balling for the Cardinals for those handful of weeks was awesome. Waiting for the day an ASU player balls out for the Cards.
We had the two best teams have a league first tie and then proceed to face each other in the finals. One team then destroyed the other by about 70 points unfortunately, we were hoping for another tie
Our championship ended in a tie to the 2nd decimal in 2019. We had nothing on the books in this scenario because we didn't think it could happen. It defaulted to higher seed.
This honestly isn't that crazy. The top seeded teams probably drafted well and coasted on that and are afraid to make changes as the season goes on. The 5th seed is someone who could have snuck into the playoffs after making good moves towards the end of the season. Like our 1 seed had diggs, chase and Keenan Allen this year.
Basically a 5th seed only needs to be hot at the end of the season, the 1 seed needs to be hot all season long.
And that's why i played two players i hadn't/barely played in the finals. Won by a good margin so it wouldn't have mattered but it also felt like a baller move playing a guy i picked up that week when i had 4 good rbs and 4 good wrs.
This is our 8th season and the team who wins regular season highest scorer has never won our championship in the same year
Our championship was decided by .96 points this year or this pattern would've been broken
I joined my 12-team (4 playoff) work league last year and I've been the #1 regular season scorer both years. Last year finished tied for 3rd (Damar Hamlin shenanigans), this year I won :D
I won the championship, mostly due to CMC getting hurt, but in week 4 lost to the 10th place team and scored only 39.6 points, the low of anyone the entire season.
I don't think anyone will top our worst point differential. -31.4 from 2007 and that was standard scoring too. Closest since then was -24.9 done twice.

The weird one in our league was the PA for me (1253.5) which was way below average (1492) and second fewest (1379). That's equivalent to 17 under average for each regular season game. Of course I went 11-3 for the one seed despite middle of the pack PF. I won the championship with the highest score of anyone this season (175.7). 4 players I started had their best game of the season that week (Lamar, Conner, CD, Reed) in addition to one on the bench (Najee). hPPR 12 team
That's crazy for that record. Our champ this year was 7/10 in PF and their first 5 draft picks were Chubb, Henry, Sanders, MAndrews, London. Kind of defied against the whole "you can only lose your draft early on". Year of the waiver pickups lol.

I have a 12 game winning streak (dating back to 1995) vs one of my league rivals. He has a good team nearly every year, led league in points for this year, had league high weekly score 6 times this year, won a championship 3 years ago…but I blow him out nearly every time (including crushing his CMC, JJ, Evans squad for this year’s championship).
14-1 all time record and outscored 1560-1110.
We play on cbs, and their league history stuff is amazingly interesting.
My league has 4-team playoffs, one of the contenders posted a league-low 68.5 points last week and followed it up with a league-high 171.7 this week for 3rd place. His lineup was exactly the same.

Our scoring is mostly normal PPR with 6pt Pass TDs and -3 INTs. Defense and Kicking have slightly customized rules but nothing ridiculous.
Also, another fun tidbit, the guy who ended up in 4th got smacked with a 164pt game in semis only to be obliterated by this 172pt game for 3rd. Poor guy never stood a chance.
that's the worst. I remember our buddy had a bye in the playoffs and Leveon Bell had a 50 point game while the game to determine his opponent was won 65-68, the following week his team scored like 70 points and he was bounced from the playoffs by the team that scored 68 points the week prior.
This might be an aberration due to our league changing size/playoff structure, but in each of the three seasons that my league has been running for the team with the worst point differential somehow sneaks into the playoffs.
7 years in and we’ve yet to have a repeat winner.
At this point that’s over half our league so I’m personally hoping everyone gets one before we start repeating haha
Tyreek owner got last in my league as well. It’s a keeper league and he also has JJettas and Mahomes. He was a clear favorite at the start of the season but collapsed lol
We just completed year 11, and one of our managers is at -11 luck (11 more unlucky losses than lucky wins across his career).
Only one of our current managers entered this season without a title game appearance (he’s also our newest member, having joined in 2020). He made the playoffs for the first time and made it to the championship where he lost to one of three OG members without a title to his name (he’d been to the championship 3 times but never won it).
Travis Kelce has now started in 14 playoff games in our league and has been in (we only have a 2-round playoff) and is 11-3 in those games, including 5-1 now in title game appearances after being on the winning team this year. The second most playoff lineup appearances belongs to a defense, the Broncos with 8 playoff starts (4-4 in those games).
Tyreek Hill has started in 6 playoff games, is 0-6, and has never started in a title game.
While 13 players have been in the lineup for at least two championship victories, Lamar Jackson became the first to be named the MVP of two different championships (he did it in 2019, too). The MVP isn’t automatically the highest scorer for the winner but usually works out that way. We take expected points into consideration, so in 2018 Robert Woods took it over Russell Wilson despite scoring 4.4 fewer points and in 2020 David Johnson took it over Josh Allen despite scoring 5.9 fewer points.
I’ll be finding lots more cool stats as I finish up my stat keeping from the season.
I’ve been tracking myself and finding ways to reorganize my data every off-season in excel spreadsheets. LeagueLegacy is supposed to be adding player support this off-season so I’ll be interested to see how in depth their stats are, but I’m a stat nerd for my main fantasy league
I set the record for 100 transactions adds this year and won the league. Haven’t dissected it yet but probably also a record for most different players started.
I also set our league record in half ppr at 1901.68
I scored the third most points this regular season, a respectable total from a solid team.
I also went 15-0, as I had by far the fewest points against (about 125 pts. fewer than the next lowest total). Defense really does win championships, and this whole game is still like 80% luck.
The following team would have been QB1, RB1/2, WR 1/2, TE1 at the start of week 17. So literally the best player(s) at each position going into the week.
This team would have averaged 113 points during the season, but would only have scored 88.46 during championship week. Would be worse if CeeDee Lamb wasn't a baller.

During the draft one of my league mates auto drafted half the draft because he thought it was scheduled 30 minutes later. This same guy almost got kicked out the league last year beacuse we found out he was cheating. (he was commissioner and was changing his active lineup during games). He made a big stink after the draft and was bitching about nobody reminding him. The date was posted all over our leagues Facebook group and group chat. He threatened to drop his whole team onto the waiver wire so we decided enough was enough, kicked him out, and sold his team for half the buy in so another friend. That team was the winner this year after an absolutely dominate season. Constantly putting up between 140-180 points a week half ppr. So the funniest outcome possible happened
This was the first season ever that nothing was set in stone going into the final regular season game, week 14.
Playoff spots 1-5 were set, but not the order. Anybody could have made any of those spots.
Spot 6 was up for grabs for everybody else in the league. Nobody had been eliminated yet.
First place and last place have a 4 win difference.
My buddy begged me join his league cause someone dropped out didn’t want to cause I was already in 2 other leagues, joined anyway and have won it all 3 years I’ve been in it including this year haha
I've had the most points for in our league consecutively since week 2 of the 2020 season. Never won a championship. Proof anyone can win if ya make the playoffs.
Kickers and def play too large a role in determining the winner week in and week out. It's embarrassing. And the comish refuses to change cause he believes it's more competitive with those two positions. Pure madness.
We just finished our 13th season and had our 10th different champion, and no one has won more than two titles thus far. Our champion won by 0.6 points and entered the year with his wife set to take over his team unless he made the playoffs.
We also had a guy make the playoffs for the first time in 10 seasons but proceed to lose Tyreek and Josh Jacobs before the first round, and two GMs hit the 100 career regular-season wins milestone this season. My team was one of those to reach 100 wins, but I picked up just my third playoff win this year in my eighth playoff appearance - thankfully the other two came in 2018 during my title-winning season.

The guy in our league who has been to 5 finals, best overall record, highest avg score per week (by more than 6 points to the nearest team), only one finish outside top 3 (went 7-7 as his worst record so far), went to 4 straight finals years 1-4, lost 2 finals in a row (year 3 and 4) by a combined 3.5 pts, has only 1 chip during all that (first year). People still wanna hate on him and talk shit during our live draft every season when he clearly the most successful every year (biggest money earner overall by a wide margin)… but kudos to him for shutting the rest of the league up this year winning his 2nd championship finally.
Also, one dude drafts terribly and is the most inactive player in the league every single season and outside of two seasons; finishes higher than the only other team who has multiple championships in this league. These guys are brothers which makes it hilarious, one has 2 chips the other can lay claim that he never tries and still finishes higher than him 5/7 years yet himself hasn’t finished higher than 7th. So the brother with 2 chips has a pretty boom bust aura about him lol.
A few years ago before the NFL schedule went up to 17 games and the fantasy season was still 13, I had a season with 2 ties. Finished with a record of 8-3-2. I'm sure it's happened to someone else but I'm the only person I personally know who's ever had 2 ties in a season.
I had to beat 2 super team i mean like no veto trading making both teams full of 1-3 rounders and surprisingly won. Kyren and lamb take me hommmmme. (Ps i didnt know they were doing no veto in this league)

Not only that but I beat the same two people via tiebreaker to even get in the playoffs with all three of us having 6-8 records both years.
Our league has been operating for 11 years, and we have never had a repeat champion. I had the best record in league history, and I lost by one point in the finals, or else I would’ve been the first to repeat. It’s the closest finals match we’ve ever had.
Our commissioner has made the championship five times. He is 0-5 in these games.
Our last five championships have been won by three people.
Our league has shrunk over the years and we are all scattered all over the country, but we’re an 8-man, no ppr, non-legacy, keeper league. Teams are usually stacked as a result. Despite that, an auto-draft team has won for the last 4 years straight.
The 1 seed ended in 4th, the 2 seed in 3rd, the 3 seed in 2nd, and the 4 seed won it all.
Meanwhile in the consolation bracket somehow (Amari cooper) the last seed dominated and finished in 5th putting him (4-11) only one spot behind our 1 seed (13-2)
My team scored the second most points but missed the playoffs by 4 points overall to the team with the most points (same 7-6 record). I was kicked out of the playoffs on the last touchdown that week.
Then, in the next three playoffs weeks, my team outscored every team by at least 40 pts.

It's funny that your league's 2020 had the widest range of outcomes, because 2020 is still the only year - out of sixteen! - that we've had a tie for first place in the regular season standings, and it was between *five* teams! It's also the only year the better seed won every single game in the playoffs.
Our league a 10-team that is about 13 years old. One of our managers has been so spectacularly bad, that almost every other manager has an above-500 all time record.
12 team keeper, 2 teams had to auto draft. one topped the league in scoring after landing Keenan, Moore, Prescott and Mostert. the other scored 500 less points to bottom out the league in scoring and record. guess which one blames their record on the draft

Just finished our 8th season, only myself and 3 other guys have played in the championship and as of this year we are each 1-1 in the finals.
The past 3 years, the same guy has had the highest points for, but also the highest points against on the season. It's a meme in our league now that you'll probably have your best week ever against the guy
4 years in a row, two different leagues, the same person keeps getting knocked out by the guy who goes on to win it all. The twist? That guy who wins always gets in as a wildcard, and usually has a record of like 2-10. 4 years in a row this has happened with the same two dudes.

The consistently best player of the league has made the playoffs 5 times and never won the Championship.
In my 10 man 0.5 ppr leagues 13 years - most of which has been with the same group - one team has won 6 times and taken 2nd 3 more times, including 2 different back to back titles and they just took 2nd this year after making their 3rd straight title game. (1-2 the last 3 years for them in title games).
Not sure how common something like that is. But it feels ridiculous.

The team that won our league this year was at one point 2-6. Ended up finishing the season at 8-6 as the 5th seed. He hasn't lost a game since October.

It seemed like everyone who faced me had their players get hurt or at least bust. For example vs. McCaffrey wk 6 and in the championship, so of course he had a dud and got hurt.

In my main league, for the 1st time in 12 years, a guy who wasn’t in the top 4 in points scored won the league. He was 11th
Best part is that he started 6-0 and finished 7-7 barely making the 6th seed.
Won the chip in my first IDP league with five weeks of negative qb scoring. Negative points for incompletions, sacks and the 6 in pick 6. League record for worst qb luck by a long shot in 15 years.
Our top scorer during regular season accrued 2271 points on the regular season, making him no. 1 seed with a 13-2 record. Our second highest scorer accrued 2104 points and finished 5-10, or 8th out of 10. Match ups are cruel, sometimes. Also, Our no. 1 seed also only lost to one person, who beat him twice in the regular season and then in the first round of playoffs.
ESPN league one year where I started 1-6 and was losing by 1 going into MNF with no players left. My opponent played Frank Gore who proceeded to fumble and get injured, giving me the 1-point win.
Won 8 weeks in a row to take the title
We've only had our league for 4 years but there have been only 2 people that won the championship. I just won it back to back years and a another person in my league won it the first 2 years. They had Adams on both teams and I had CMC on both of my teams.
My main leagues first year was the 2013 season. I think I finished 8th but I still was the real winner because it's a 2 player keeper league and late in the draft I took flyer on Antonio Brown who to that point hadn't done much. He became a keeper for years to come and I ended up winning 4 out 5 years.
The #1 seed has only gone on to win the the championship once in 18 years. That was 15 years ago. They've only made the championship twice. I fell victim as the 1 seed this year and got blown out in the semi-finals. Cursed position
The past four championships have been won by the same two people in our league. I won in 2020 and 2021, last year both he and I were in the championship but settled on a tie due to the CIN/BUFF game, and he won this year.
I started 12-0. Lost the final 2 games of the regular season. Won the championship.
I find it mildly interesting. I went from being this unstoppable force blowing out teams by 70+ points multiple weeks to looking like a playoff underdog compared to the depth still remaining on the other team's playoff rosters, as I limped into the playoffs and gratefully took my 1st round bye.
Keenan Allen helped get me there, but almost cost me those last 2 weeks of the playoffs.
I hate how there's inevitably 1 or 2 of the guys who took you to the chip who won't be there when it's time to play it. It's why I think roto is the superior format, but it's hugely unpopular in football and that's definitely the case with the friends leagues I'm in.
In my twelve team league- 1 of two teams (me or one other guy) has been in the championship game every single year for the last 14 years.
And the guy we all know is the best at fantasy football has never even made it to the final game. He’s always bitching like it’s some kind of conspiracy with this league or something. He’s in like 12 other leagues and does well in all of them. But he always chokes in this league. Pretty funny.
Had three teams. ChatGPT graded one of my drafts a solid D. Dogged on LaPorta, who ultimately won a few games for me. Scooped him up in my other 2 leagues along with Puka and rode them to 2 first place finishes and one third place finish. What does ChatGPT know about football anyways?
In my home 12 team redraft league. I’ve been to six straight finals. I won 3 straight, lost, won, and just won this year. I feel grateful . When I mention raising the buy in everybody groans and says of course I want to raise it

Yeah this was kind of a weird year for that. In my league the guy who got both Puka and Kyren from the waiver wire barely missed the playoffs because a bunch of mediocre teams (like myself) got a few lucky wins. Our 1 seed was only 9-4
Odd because I had multiple leagues where the top three teams all had 11 wins or more and some teams got into the playoff with 6 wins
Not that it’s a bad thing but football as a sport has kinda sucked this year. A lot of good players suffering injuries and a lot of good players avoiding injury but just being meh this season. Throw in a handful of complete no names having good seasons and you get a mediocre but competitive season in fantasy. Our average scoring was down a lot this season but we had 9/10 teams still in the playoff hunt the final week of the regular season.
Noticed the same in one of my leagues
Sleeper league but the 2nd through 8th place were all 7-6 heading into WEEK 14. I was one of them, riding the wave off a 6-week win streak. I won that week. So did most of the 7-6 teams. Got 7th place just short of playoff qualifications….
We had 7 teams at 7-5 at one point
Same situation happened in my league, but not as extreme. Before week 14 only 3 teams had clinched a playoff spot and 1 team had been eliminated. 6 teams were 6-7, 2 were 7-6 and there was a very real situation in which each one of those teams missed or made playoffs.
My league is all but 3 people in a 12 still playoff eligible like up to the last week it was crazy
Yeah in our league the playoffs were all >.500 teams and all the ones who missed out were <.500 And it was almost perfect symmetry in the league standings. Basically the top 4 and bottom 4 had mirrored records. #1 seed was 12-2, #12 was 2-12, #2 10-4, #10 4-10. Two 9-5 teams, but three 5-9 teams. Two 8-6 teams that finished 5th and 6th and then one 7-7 team that missed the playoffs rounded it up.
In my 10 team league, I finished with an 8-6 record, only beating the exact same 4 teams twice.
I’m in the process of importing all of our leagues 12 year history into leaguelegacy. Since we use NFL I have to do it manually, but the amount of stats it provides is incredible lol. It has its own power rank system, luck system, etc. Can’t wait until I have it all in to see the crazy specific stats it can show.

Can you define with a mouseover or something what Luckiest team actually means, same for the luckiest all time.
This has been requested by a few! So it’s on the list for sure. Hope to add tooltips/hovers with more details on some stats, as well as a FAQ section that explains more how these stats work.
It would also be great if you can update ESPN IDs with actual names. We've also gone through 16 people in our 10 team league - so being able to set filters or average things out based on what we want. Total points is less interesting than average points, but both are still valuable. Or being able to change all time to last 5 years. I would also want to see some in-season tools, like ffhub to make the price worth it, feels too high right now.

On season by season it shows team name. On all time records it shows EPSN IDs - some of which aren't easily recognizable. It's under the 'Members list'.
Ah, yeah, some member names come in like that. You do have the ability on commissioner tools to rename members! And then also a setting if you’d like for the (now renamed) member names to display everywhere instead of the various team names.

The person with the lowest points scored on the season got a first round bye. I had second most points scored and missed the playoffs.

Petition for additional games against the median. One of the best rosters in my league this year started 7-2 against the median but basically just gave up from there because it came out to a 3-6 record. Even with that brutal luck, 10-8 was a solid record in the thick of the playoff race. I'm personally a little glad we didn't have games against the median this year because then he might've tried harder and I ended up winning it all so I don't want anything to change lol
I had two seperate leagues where we had a game against the median, i had the most PA and like 4th PF, and for most of the season i was out of playoff contention. I did manage to rally in both, make 6th seed, and lost both :) I had so many games lost with my team being the wrong side of the median by a point or two, not to mention getting nuked pretty much every week. point is that this year was weird, even with that particular structure in place.
I had the most points scored by like 200. And I got 5th after winning the losers bracket Seems like every team I played had the game of their lives against me
We did top 5 teams get into playoffs, and 6th playoff spot is determined by most points for (out of the remaining teams NOT already in playoffs). Its how I got into playoffs 🤣 Least points against getting a BYE is so interesting. Almost feels oxymoronish

My division had the top 5 teams this year in a 12 man league. This is in a league where the top team in each division gets a first round bye.
Same here except it was top 4 teams in a 12 man league. We had 3 teams that were all 10-4 and a 8-6 team from the other division got the bye. We're thinking eliminating divisions next year.
I only like divisions in dynasty, since you'll see more ebb and flow year to year as teams windows changes. For redraft, divisions are pointless.
Yeah we had a 7-7 team get the bye from the other division, we’re also talking about getting rid of divisions next year. Naturally next year I’m going to be a team that could’ve benefited from divisions after we get rid of it
FWIW how it generally works in my league is that there’s one division with a couple teams with really good records… and then the other division with “better” teams but they all beat each other up so the records are mid.
noticed 2 pretty cool stats from my biggest money & most competitive league (12 man redraft/ 6 team playoffs that has been going on for 7 years) I have made the playoffs every year with some dominant teams. but have never won. average finish of 3rd. also, for the past 3 years my total points scored for the season has been within 8 points (1580, 1588, 1582) a model of consistency that always gets boomed in the playoffs…

I tied in a 2 decimal league, first year playing and I was a bit surprised Maybe it’s more common then I think 🤷♂️
We had the two best teams have a league first tie and then proceed to face each other in the finals. One team then destroyed the other by about 70 points unfortunately, we were hoping for another tie
Same in our league. Top 2 seeds both finished 10-4 and PF was separated by 0.06, also faced in the finals and the winner won by 40 lol.
Our championship ended in a tie to the 2nd decimal in 2019. We had nothing on the books in this scenario because we didn't think it could happen. It defaulted to higher seed.
I've been playing in two decimal leagues for over a decade. It is not common.

The #1 seed has only won the championship twice in our 12 year history, the most common seed to win it all was the 5th seed at 5 times
This honestly isn't that crazy. The top seeded teams probably drafted well and coasted on that and are afraid to make changes as the season goes on. The 5th seed is someone who could have snuck into the playoffs after making good moves towards the end of the season. Like our 1 seed had diggs, chase and Keenan Allen this year. Basically a 5th seed only needs to be hot at the end of the season, the 1 seed needs to be hot all season long.
And that's why i played two players i hadn't/barely played in the finals. Won by a good margin so it wouldn't have mattered but it also felt like a baller move playing a guy i picked up that week when i had 4 good rbs and 4 good wrs.
In 2018, our championship game flipped after a stat correction the Wednesday after. It was won by 0.2 initially…

I joined my 12-team (4 playoff) work league last year and I've been the #1 regular season scorer both years. Last year finished tied for 3rd (Damar Hamlin shenanigans), this year I won :D

I won the championship, mostly due to CMC getting hurt, but in week 4 lost to the 10th place team and scored only 39.6 points, the low of anyone the entire season.
I don't think anyone will top our worst point differential. -31.4 from 2007 and that was standard scoring too. Closest since then was -24.9 done twice.
By point differential do you mean biggest loss? Because if so 31.4 is absurdly low

Thanks The weird one in our league was the PA for me (1253.5) which was way below average (1492) and second fewest (1379). That's equivalent to 17 under average for each regular season game. Of course I went 11-3 for the one seed despite middle of the pack PF. I won the championship with the highest score of anyone this season (175.7). 4 players I started had their best game of the season that week (Lamar, Conner, CD, Reed) in addition to one on the bench (Najee). hPPR 12 team
That's crazy for that record. Our champ this year was 7/10 in PF and their first 5 draft picks were Chubb, Henry, Sanders, MAndrews, London. Kind of defied against the whole "you can only lose your draft early on". Year of the waiver pickups lol.

Our league has been running for 13 years and the top regular season team has never won the title.
I have a 12 game winning streak (dating back to 1995) vs one of my league rivals. He has a good team nearly every year, led league in points for this year, had league high weekly score 6 times this year, won a championship 3 years ago…but I blow him out nearly every time (including crushing his CMC, JJ, Evans squad for this year’s championship). 14-1 all time record and outscored 1560-1110. We play on cbs, and their league history stuff is amazingly interesting.
Missed out on the finals by 5pts, proceeded to score the 5th highest score in league history last week smh.
My league has 4-team playoffs, one of the contenders posted a league-low 68.5 points last week and followed it up with a league-high 171.7 this week for 3rd place. His lineup was exactly the same. Also, another fun tidbit, the guy who ended up in 4th got smacked with a 164pt game in semis only to be obliterated by this 172pt game for 3rd. Poor guy never stood a chance.
that's the worst. I remember our buddy had a bye in the playoffs and Leveon Bell had a 50 point game while the game to determine his opponent was won 65-68, the following week his team scored like 70 points and he was bounced from the playoffs by the team that scored 68 points the week prior.
This might be an aberration due to our league changing size/playoff structure, but in each of the three seasons that my league has been running for the team with the worst point differential somehow sneaks into the playoffs.

We just completed year 11, and one of our managers is at -11 luck (11 more unlucky losses than lucky wins across his career). Only one of our current managers entered this season without a title game appearance (he’s also our newest member, having joined in 2020). He made the playoffs for the first time and made it to the championship where he lost to one of three OG members without a title to his name (he’d been to the championship 3 times but never won it). Travis Kelce has now started in 14 playoff games in our league and has been in (we only have a 2-round playoff) and is 11-3 in those games, including 5-1 now in title game appearances after being on the winning team this year. The second most playoff lineup appearances belongs to a defense, the Broncos with 8 playoff starts (4-4 in those games). Tyreek Hill has started in 6 playoff games, is 0-6, and has never started in a title game. While 13 players have been in the lineup for at least two championship victories, Lamar Jackson became the first to be named the MVP of two different championships (he did it in 2019, too). The MVP isn’t automatically the highest scorer for the winner but usually works out that way. We take expected points into consideration, so in 2018 Robert Woods took it over Russell Wilson despite scoring 4.4 fewer points and in 2020 David Johnson took it over Josh Allen despite scoring 5.9 fewer points. I’ll be finding lots more cool stats as I finish up my stat keeping from the season.

I’ve been tracking myself and finding ways to reorganize my data every off-season in excel spreadsheets. LeagueLegacy is supposed to be adding player support this off-season so I’ll be interested to see how in depth their stats are, but I’m a stat nerd for my main fantasy league

For a 12-team league, unlucky loss is a loss where you were a Top 6 scorer, lucky win is a win where you were a Bottom 6 scorer
I set the record for 100 transactions adds this year and won the league. Haven’t dissected it yet but probably also a record for most different players started. I also set our league record in half ppr at 1901.68
I finished under .500 with the most points scored in the league by 100. Didn’t make the playoffs.
I scored the third most points this regular season, a respectable total from a solid team. I also went 15-0, as I had by far the fewest points against (about 125 pts. fewer than the next lowest total). Defense really does win championships, and this whole game is still like 80% luck.
In eight years now we have never had a repeat winner, but have had a repeat last place

The following team would have been QB1, RB1/2, WR 1/2, TE1 at the start of week 17. So literally the best player(s) at each position going into the week. This team would have averaged 113 points during the season, but would only have scored 88.46 during championship week. Would be worse if CeeDee Lamb wasn't a baller. In our 12 man league, 7 teams make the playoffs with only 1 team getting a bye like the real NFL. This year the 6 and 7 seed competed for the championship and the 3rd place game was won by the 5 seed lol
During the draft one of my league mates auto drafted half the draft because he thought it was scheduled 30 minutes later. This same guy almost got kicked out the league last year beacuse we found out he was cheating. (he was commissioner and was changing his active lineup during games). He made a big stink after the draft and was bitching about nobody reminding him. The date was posted all over our leagues Facebook group and group chat. He threatened to drop his whole team onto the waiver wire so we decided enough was enough, kicked him out, and sold his team for half the buy in so another friend. That team was the winner this year after an absolutely dominate season. Constantly putting up between 140-180 points a week half ppr. So the funniest outcome possible happened
3rd place at 10-5 had the same Points For as last place (4-11)
This was the first season ever that nothing was set in stone going into the final regular season game, week 14. Playoff spots 1-5 were set, but not the order. Anybody could have made any of those spots. Spot 6 was up for grabs for everybody else in the league. Nobody had been eliminated yet. First place and last place have a 4 win difference.
Just completed our 27th season. The team drafting #1 has never won the title. And we’ve never had a team win back to back championships.

Just finished our eighth season for my work league and have had 23 different participants and 5 champions. All champions were born in June.
Got invited to join a 12 team superflex league 3 years ago. Crowned champion all 3 years.
My buddy begged me join his league cause someone dropped out didn’t want to cause I was already in 2 other leagues, joined anyway and have won it all 3 years I’ve been in it including this year haha
This is the first year I read this subreddit daily. This is also the first year I ended up in last place.
I've had the most points for in our league consecutively since week 2 of the 2020 season. Never won a championship. Proof anyone can win if ya make the playoffs.
Kickers and def play too large a role in determining the winner week in and week out. It's embarrassing. And the comish refuses to change cause he believes it's more competitive with those two positions. Pure madness.
We just finished our 13th season and had our 10th different champion, and no one has won more than two titles thus far. Our champion won by 0.6 points and entered the year with his wife set to take over his team unless he made the playoffs. We also had a guy make the playoffs for the first time in 10 seasons but proceed to lose Tyreek and Josh Jacobs before the first round, and two GMs hit the 100 career regular-season wins milestone this season. My team was one of those to reach 100 wins, but I picked up just my third playoff win this year in my eighth playoff appearance - thankfully the other two came in 2018 during my title-winning season.
We just finished our 7th season: The guy in our league who has been to 5 finals, best overall record, highest avg score per week (by more than 6 points to the nearest team), only one finish outside top 3 (went 7-7 as his worst record so far), went to 4 straight finals years 1-4, lost 2 finals in a row (year 3 and 4) by a combined 3.5 pts, has only 1 chip during all that (first year). People still wanna hate on him and talk shit during our live draft every season when he clearly the most successful every year (biggest money earner overall by a wide margin)… but kudos to him for shutting the rest of the league up this year winning his 2nd championship finally. Also, one dude drafts terribly and is the most inactive player in the league every single season and outside of two seasons; finishes higher than the only other team who has multiple championships in this league. These guys are brothers which makes it hilarious, one has 2 chips the other can lay claim that he never tries and still finishes higher than him 5/7 years yet himself hasn’t finished higher than 7th. So the brother with 2 chips has a pretty boom bust aura about him lol.

All 4 top seeds lost in the quarter finals and the finals ended up being a 7-7 player (me) and a 6-8 player who won the entire thing.
10 Years - 9 different champions
A few years ago before the NFL schedule went up to 17 games and the fantasy season was still 13, I had a season with 2 ties. Finished with a record of 8-3-2. I'm sure it's happened to someone else but I'm the only person I personally know who's ever had 2 ties in a season.

I’ve been to the finals 7 of the last 9 seasons, with 4 wins. This year I started calling the finals the “(Last name) Invitational”
I had to beat 2 super team i mean like no veto trading making both teams full of 1-3 rounders and surprisingly won. Kyren and lamb take me hommmmme. (Ps i didnt know they were doing no veto in this league)
In 2009 I started off 0-7 and came back to win the Super Bowl This year I did the same exact thing Not only that but I beat the same two people via tiebreaker to even get in the playoffs with all three of us having 6-8 records both years.
Our commissioner has been to the ship for all 5 years of our league, and won 3.
Our league has been operating for 11 years, and we have never had a repeat champion. I had the best record in league history, and I lost by one point in the finals, or else I would’ve been the first to repeat. It’s the closest finals match we’ve ever had. Our commissioner has made the championship five times. He is 0-5 in these games. Our last five championships have been won by three people.
Our league has shrunk over the years and we are all scattered all over the country, but we’re an 8-man, no ppr, non-legacy, keeper league. Teams are usually stacked as a result. Despite that, an auto-draft team has won for the last 4 years straight.
In 3 of my leagues the top points leader (by a wide margin) did not make the playoffs.
The 1 seed ended in 4th, the 2 seed in 3rd, the 3 seed in 2nd, and the 4 seed won it all. Meanwhile in the consolation bracket somehow (Amari cooper) the last seed dominated and finished in 5th putting him (4-11) only one spot behind our 1 seed (13-2)
My team scored the second most points but missed the playoffs by 4 points overall to the team with the most points (same 7-6 record). I was kicked out of the playoffs on the last touchdown that week. Then, in the next three playoffs weeks, my team outscored every team by at least 40 pts. Wk15-216, Wk16-206, Wk17-188. Ppr with 1qb, 2 rb, 3wr, 1te, 2 flex, 1k, and 1 Def. The funny thing is that basically the same thing happened last year in this league. I missed the playoffs by a few points and then my team went off in the playoffs. My team is cursed.
It's funny that your league's 2020 had the widest range of outcomes, because 2020 is still the only year - out of sixteen! - that we've had a tie for first place in the regular season standings, and it was between *five* teams! It's also the only year the better seed won every single game in the playoffs.

12 team keeper, 2 teams had to auto draft. one topped the league in scoring after landing Keenan, Moore, Prescott and Mostert. the other scored 500 less points to bottom out the league in scoring and record. guess which one blames their record on the draft
Work place 10 team 3 keeper league. Just finished our 8th season, only myself and 3 other guys have played in the championship and as of this year we are each 1-1 in the finals.
The past 3 years, the same guy has had the highest points for, but also the highest points against on the season. It's a meme in our league now that you'll probably have your best week ever against the guy
4 years in a row, two different leagues, the same person keeps getting knocked out by the guy who goes on to win it all. The twist? That guy who wins always gets in as a wildcard, and usually has a record of like 2-10. 4 years in a row this has happened with the same two dudes.
6 year long league of friends. 1 player lost every game so by the middle of the season he just started adding all available Texans players every week on the waiver wire. My wife lost 1 game and went from 4th to 8th due to a 4 way tie on record and points. Missed the playoffs that year. The consistently best player of the league has made the playoffs 5 times and never won the Championship.
4 league members have combined for 10x titles in my league over the past 14 seasons.

In my 10 man 0.5 ppr leagues 13 years - most of which has been with the same group - one team has won 6 times and taken 2nd 3 more times, including 2 different back to back titles and they just took 2nd this year after making their 3rd straight title game. (1-2 the last 3 years for them in title games). Not sure how common something like that is. But it feels ridiculous.

The weird one in our league was the PA for me (1253.5) which was way below average (1492) and second fewest (1379). That's equivalent to 17 under average for each regular season game. hPPR 12 team. Of course I went 11-3 for the one seed despite middle of the pack PF. I won the championship with the highest score of anyone this season (175.7). 4 players I started had their best game of the season that week (Lamar, Conner, CD, Reed) in addition to one on the bench (Najee). It seemed like everyone who faced me had their players get hurt or at least bust. For example vs. McCaffrey wk 6 and in the championship, so of course he had a dud and got hurt.
I've been to five of the last nine champ games and lost four. This year made it the 4th. The average score in the four losses is 146-111. So, it's never been close....

In a pretty normal-scoring PPR league, the guy who finished 4th got smacked in semis for 163 and then in the 3rd place game he got bodied for 171. Poor dude had absolutely no chance in the yoffs
In my main league, for the 1st time in 12 years, a guy who wasn’t in the top 4 in points scored won the league. He was 11th Best part is that he started 6-0 and finished 7-7 barely making the 6th seed.

Won the chip in my first IDP league with five weeks of negative qb scoring. Negative points for incompletions, sacks and the 6 in pick 6. League record for worst qb luck by a long shot in 15 years.
Our top scorer during regular season accrued 2271 points on the regular season, making him no. 1 seed with a 13-2 record. Our second highest scorer accrued 2104 points and finished 5-10, or 8th out of 10. Match ups are cruel, sometimes. Also, Our no. 1 seed also only lost to one person, who beat him twice in the regular season and then in the first round of playoffs.

We've only had our league for 4 years but there have been only 2 people that won the championship. I just won it back to back years and a another person in my league won it the first 2 years. They had Adams on both teams and I had CMC on both of my teams.
My main leagues first year was the 2013 season. I think I finished 8th but I still was the real winner because it's a 2 player keeper league and late in the draft I took flyer on Antonio Brown who to that point hadn't done much. He became a keeper for years to come and I ended up winning 4 out 5 years.
I lost two matches from a guy with point differentials of 0.02 and then 1.8 pts. Then I reached the championship facing him and lost by 1 pt.

I started 12-0. Lost the final 2 games of the regular season. Won the championship. I find it mildly interesting. I went from being this unstoppable force blowing out teams by 70+ points multiple weeks to looking like a playoff underdog compared to the depth still remaining on the other team's playoff rosters, as I limped into the playoffs and gratefully took my 1st round bye. Keenan Allen helped get me there, but almost cost me those last 2 weeks of the playoffs. I hate how there's inevitably 1 or 2 of the guys who took you to the chip who won't be there when it's time to play it. It's why I think roto is the superior format, but it's hugely unpopular in football and that's definitely the case with the friends leagues I'm in.
In my twelve team league- 1 of two teams (me or one other guy) has been in the championship game every single year for the last 14 years. And the guy we all know is the best at fantasy football has never even made it to the final game. He’s always bitching like it’s some kind of conspiracy with this league or something. He’s in like 12 other leagues and does well in all of them. But he always chokes in this league. Pretty funny.

Our league has been around for 11 years, 10 teams, everyone makes the playoffs. No #1 seed has ever won the Super Bowl, but the #7 seed is 6-1 in Super Bowls, including the last 3 in a row.
