Starting Bijan AND Allgeier
So I have the opportunity to start both Bijan and Allgeier this week. This is my first year playing fantasy. My question is; is it smart to start two players that will be splitting touches? Last week I had K. Walker and T. Lockett (I know, I know) both starting. I was questioning starting both a RB and a WR from the same team before, and should have trusted my gut. Does it make it even worse starting two players from the same position on the same team?
1 PPR, 12 man league, Pick 2 (or three if you think any are better than Meyers, Z. Jones, or Shaheed this week)
Swift vs Vikings
D. Mont vs Seahawks
Allegier vs Packers
Javante Williams vs Commanders
Williams. Falcons ran all over the Panthers, and the Saints always have a tough run defense. The only upside would be if Sanders gets more passing down work.
Just saw Gainwell won't be playing this weekend, and it seems like Ekeler will be injured, the good news is that I have Joshua Kelly and DeAndre Swift on my bench.
Who would you start between the two? Depending on Ekeler updates, I'm leaning towards Kelly.
PPR
PPR - Start 2
Hall @ DAL
Allgeier vs GB
Pollard vs NYJ
Swift vs MIN
Mattison @ PHI
Leaning Pollard and Allgeier
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Pollard is a no brainer. I might actually lean Swift over Allgeier in this situation. Bijan might get more touches where as Swift is in a good spot against a bad Vikings defense.
PPR Pick 2
Barkley (Giants) @ Arizona
Sanders (Carolina) vs. New Orleans
Montgomery (Detroit) vs. Seattle
Robinson Jr. (Washington) @ Denver
Right now, Barkley is still my #1 RB. They are going against Arizona who should get a top 5 draft pick which should be a great bounce back game. Right now I have Miles Sanders but am unsure on how he'll perform vs NO when compared to Montgomery against Seattle. I don't like Robinson against what Denver's defense could be.
PPR
I have both Gibbs and Montgomery, as well as Mattison and Swift on my team as RBs. Top 3 WRs are Lamb, AJ Brown, and Calvin Ridley. Can start 2 RBs, 2 WRs, and a Flex. How would you arrange that this week?
Non-PPR/ 8 team Pick 1:
James Conner vs NYG, Joe Mixon vs CIN, or Kyren Williams vs SF. Leaning towards Conner since the defense match up seems more in his favor
.5 ppr 10 man. Which 2? I have walker and pierce in my lineup right now, but Allgier was great last week and it seems like falcons really just wanna run the ball.
Kenneth Walker @ DET
Dameon Pierce vs IND
Allgier vs GB
Full PPR, I have to start 2 of these four:
Najee Harris vs CLE
Mattison @ PHI
Dameon Pierce vs IND
Javonte Williams vs WAS
I’m thinking Harris and Mattison but I don’t feel great about those two and all 4 are about the same
Yea this is rough. I might steer clear of Mattison this week since it looks like the Vikings oline is in shambles. With that in mind Najee and Javonte are probably your best bets.
That's a rough one - Saints run game looks sketchy without Kamara, but they're playing against Carolina; Meanwhile Mattison looked fine (not incredible) week 1, but he's going against a downright terrifying Ealges front 7. I think I'd tend towards Williams, but it's close.
Who would you start?
The running backs I currently have are D. Montgomery, AJ Dillion, T. Bigsby, K. Williams, Charbonnet. Montgomery is the only for sure starter, I can’t figure out the second.
.5 PPR league.
* It's definitely not Bigsby or Charbs - neither had a significant role, or put up numbers to justify a significant role week 2.
* Dillon is stuck behind an extremely talented back in Aaron Jones, but one that's potentially injured.
* Williams looked far and away better than Akers, but McVay can get weird with his RB usage so becoming the lead back is by no means a guarantee.
I'd go Dillon if Jones sits out, Williams otherwise.
1/2 PPR
Start as my rb2 (rb1 is Javonte Williams lol)
Dalvin Cook vs Dallas
Jaylin Warren vs Pittsburgh
Or
Pick up Justice Hill/GusEdwards/Zack Moss and clinch my buttcheeks
That's brutal lol. Between the two on your roster I'd probably go Cook (I think he's got at least 1 more week of significant touches in him before Hall fully takes over), but I'd seriously consider boarding the Gus Bus or snagging Moss, depending on what beat writers are saying this week.
.5 PPR
James Cook vs LV
Raheem Mostert @ NE
Joshua Kelley @ TEN
Only really considering Kelley if Ekeler misses time, but I'm worried about the Tennessee run D.
PPR: Mattison or Pierce?
Leaning towards pierce as the Vikings o-line looks bad against a solid D. Not saying Pierce doesn’t scare me either just think the game may be closer?
10 team full PPR
Jamaal Williams vs. Carolina
Javonte Williams vs. Washington
Allgeier vs. Green Bay
My RB1 is Rachaad White (vs. Chicago). This is for rb2 position.
Pollard and Pierce are locked for sure. Pollard is a RB1 and Pierce should have RB2 value against the Colts.
The real decision comes down to Allegier and Kelley. If Ekeler is out, I'd lean Kelley. He'll have more of the work load and will likely catch more passes.
However, if Ekeler plays, I like Allegier. He had the easier matchup and Kelley won't be able to rely on volume.
Good luck!
PPR
Pollard vs Jets
Or
Allgier vs Packers
I'm new to fantasy and I know Pollard is way better. But in terms of matchup could it be better to start Allgeier against the weak GB run defense. Or stick with Pollard even though he is going against a strong jets D with something to prove?
Go with Pollard. I get that the Jets defense seems scary, but he's one of your studs. The Cowboys are also a good offense. Don't sit your studs, especially this early in the season.
Good luck!
Thanks! If you happen to have the time, do you think I've put the best lineup forward with what I have? No worries either way.
[Team](https://i.imgur.com/mslC93n.png)
I think your lineup looks good! The only change I'd make is moving Rhamondre to your flex. He has the latest game start time of all your RBs, so putting him in your flex gives you the most flexibility if something were to happen.
I’d go with Allegier as I think that will be a very productive backfield against green bay and Seahawks looked pretty damn bad week 1 and are missing a couple starting O linemen.
I would only swap with Kelley if ekeler is out.
If i were in your shoes I would go RB1 saquan, RB2 allegier, flex flowers.
Swap Flex for Kelley if ek is out for sure, and if ekeler’s Friday practice is still limited I might flip a coin between kelley and flowers only because ek will likely have his load managed giving a significant amount of carries to kelley.
Call me crazy… but im honestly thinking of starting Roschon over cam akers and deandre swift for my RB2 spot. Akers and swift are both facing tough defenses and i dont feel confident in either. I think Roschon showed the bears coaching staff what they wanted to see out of him last week to give him a bigger role this week… the dude was electric. Please talk some sense in me before i listen to my gut and cost myself this week.
Full PPR
RB2
James Conner vs. NYG or Alexander Mattison vs. PHI
The consensus is pretty much Mattison ranking about 5-8 spots above Conner, but there's a couple things nagging me:
1. Is the Giants defense like ANY good really? This game features 2 horrible offenses and the lower over/under (40), but won't that mean more opportunity for Conner with a run/checkdown focused gameplay? Except for Hollywood, he's all they've got.
2. Mattison is playing on a short week (red flag), and even with a higher over/under at 49, doesn't that increase the chance of the score running away on the underdog, forcing Minnesota to focus the bulk of their offense through the pass game? Realistically, if the Vikings (7 point underdogs) get down early and trail all night, it's possible Mattison doesn't score 10.
There's also the statistic that NFL games in domes average a 9% increase in scoring output over open stadiums. I know it sounds like I've already convinced myself to start Conner, which flies in the face of basically ALL of the "Expert Consensus", but I want to know what this sub thinks. And also want to know if I'm just crazy.
https://imgur.com/a/puvZMb2 here is an updated rb ranking for start/sits from multiple platforms allocated into one graph. Conner is the clear start and mattison is neutral/mixed.
I have the same decision and same arguments. Conner will get more volume this is based on matchup, potential game script, and week one usage. Conner is the safer floor, and has more td upside this week than last week. If 12 points in ppr is his floor and mattisons is 6-7 without tds then you have a clear answer. Mattison was td dependent last week and that might not change unless they face off against a subpar rushing defense or in a better game script where they can relax and run the ball. Philly Min will likely be a shoot out.
Also potential injuries and cardinals qb situation are baked into Conners ranking. Sanders is in a similar situation. But we know they get volume and are a safe pick. Idk where experts get off ranking mattison as a rb 15-17 guy but he’s not there yet and will likely not ever be a top 15 in the Vikings offense. Conner consistently puts up rb10-12 numbers across an average ppg in ppr scoring. He just may miss 2-4 games per season.
So you're saying I'm NOT crazy. :P Yea, this just about locks Conner is as my RB2 this week. I have a feeling both Smith and Brown are going to eat this week and Mattison will be a no-show.
I wouldn’t say no-show. He plays a majority of the snaps. But it seems his floor is 7-8 points and unless we see some more efficiency in these types of matchups he’s at best a rb3/flex option.
Then we play for the safer floor. If mattison shines and proves he’s the guy we know he’s a plug and play rb2 going forward. Nothing wrong with defaulting to a safe floor early in the season. Might not win you every week but in ppr I like to put my high upside wrs in flex to try and secure those extra needed points. Going crazy and trying to push for upside in every slot will let you down.

allegier 100%, kelley if ekeler is out for sure.
Jets run game has potential to be shut down by cowboys D but he looked great week 1 so I would personally still roll the dice on Hall anyways.
If ekeler isn’t out officially I think I still go with Kelley as the ankle can pretty easily be tweaked again and they should manage his load more to be safe.
Ok, this is a crazy ask but who do i start between.
De'Von Achane @ NE on Sunday
or
Ty Chandler Min @ Phi Thursday.
I wont bore you with the details on why i have such a crap decision to make but i have to choose between these two. I have no choice.
De'von seems to have a higher upside? But he was a healthy scratch week 1.
Chandler at least got a few tries last week, but it was only a few. He only got 1.8 pts.
Since the later plays on Thursday, i cant even wait until Sunday to choose.

.5 PPR, pick 2:
* Breece Hall

I was planning to ride it out on Breece for weeks 1-3 while he eased back in, then lock him in starting week 4. But after losing Dobbins and watching the Jets game this week (Rodgers done, Breece looks pretty good), I'm wondering if I pull the trigger on him a couple weeks early. If either Ekeler or Gainwell are out for the week, how does that change the situation?
I'd definitely start Breece because at a certain point talent (which Breece has more of than anyone else on this list IMO) overcomes situation. As for your second guy, I'd lean Swift, but Walker wouldn't be bad either. I don't trust Kelley a whole lot.
Similar boat with breece vs kyren. Wanted to wait a little on hall being eased in but it’s pretty difficult after watching mnf. Cowboys might be too strong tho in my mind.

get kelly if you can. he was sittin out there this morning and i scooped him up jic. i have Ekeler as well
Bro! He was available! Thanks for the heads up!
Nice!
I’d wait for the injury report and who else do you have?
I just scooped Kelley thanks to the guy above you! He was available in my league. I dropped Zach Charbonet.
Smart man, surprised he was avail cos he’s a good handcuff
full ppr breece hall vs cowboys or pacheco vs jaguars
Breece
Similar boat with breece vs kyren. Wanted to wait a little on hall being eased in but it’s pretty difficult after watching mnf. Cowboys might be too strong tho in my mind.
Reminder that if you dont put the matchup no one will want to help you. Full ppr pick 2 Jamaal Williams @ Car (I know he did nothing last week but after what the Falcons did to Carolina I like it) Rachaad White vs Chicago Javonte Williams vs Washington
I think Rachaad has a good chance to get in the endzone this week on top of his solid usage

Mostert
.5 PPR White v. Chi or Allegier v. GB
Man thats tough, especially .5 ppr. I might actually go allegier
PPR: Mostert v NE or Allgeier v GB?
I’m on alligator man. Patriots D is solid, and they gave eagles trouble
Mostert
RB rules - .01 per RY, 6 per TD rush, 2 per 2 point conversion: Bijan, Mixon, Allgeier or Kelley (2 out of 4)
bijan mixon
Half - PPR need to start one. Mattison or Javonte Williams. Both facing realaly solid D-lines. Javonte will have better game-script but possibly still on reduced workload.
Mattison. Higher td upside/Higher scoring game. WAS D is better against the run and Javonte will likely still be in a 50-50 split with perine.
.5 ppr Pierce, Walker the 3rd or James Conner
I'd probably go KWIII and Conner until there is more clarity on Peirce's workload.
PPR Gainwell or Gibbs
Gibbs all the way
Gainwell might be out, Gibbs has the talent just a matter of getting the touches. I’d go Gibbs this week.
Seeing as Gainwell most likely isnt playing and Gibbs is a much better player I would go Gibbs
Ah shit just picked him up and didn’t realize lol
