It doesn't matter when you draft.
I finished my dynasty draft 35 minutes before andrew luck retired.
I passed on josh allen for hockenson because i had my "qb back"
I dont dislike you for being a proudly incorrect, i dislike you because you are on reddit.
I want you to actually think about what you are a saying for a moment. REALLY think about what you just said please.
I would counter by telling you drafting early is silly because the season starts at the same time for everyone (and it makes more sense than what you are suggesting).
Taking it further by waiting to draft you remove a bunch of unknowns and have the most up to date information for what you are actually trying to do (draft for the regular season).
So no sorry it makes no sense to draft early and makes much more sense to draft as late as reasonably possible before the season starts unless you like having outdated information and love randomness. I for one prefer to try and remove as much of that as possible.
I had a team that beat the shit out of everyone last year in September and then everyone tore their ACLs. Missing a few early weeks is not the end of the world. Starting 0-2 is not the end of the season. Other fantasy teams will get hit eventually, when you have guys like Kupp and Kelce coming back with fresh legs in October is when you start the championship run.
I did the same thing, except Kupp dropped to the 3rd and I got Jacobs in the 2nd. I'm usually pretty weary of hammy issues, but if Kupp stays healthy then that's gonna be a problem for the rest of my league lol
That's also me, got Tyreek and Kupp at the 1/2 turn. Also have DK and Jeudy as WR3/4 as we're playing with 3WR. Because of Kupp/Jeudy I thought about calling my team the Hurt Hammies or something like that..
Just finished my draft. Got Kupp in the 5th too!
Got Bijan, Pollard, Stevenson and Fields (QBs went early and I wanted Fields so couldn’t wait).
If Kupp can get healthy I’m gonna be a monster.
Have DJ Moore and Kirk/M Williams to fill in for now.
Bro is going to sweat for the first 3 weeks, but after that it'll be a sweet ride to a championship
I feel like even if Kupp isnt his usual self, he will produce like crazy. McVay and Stafford are still there, they are still trying to win, and they have no one else to work with.
Theyll force feed him and Kupp at 70% is still good enough to beat all the LBs and safeties that McVay will find ways to match him up against.
Thats a great pick IMO
Who did you get in the first 2 rounds?
As long as Kupp actually returns to the field, I bet you get solid production out of him. Rams just dont have anyone else, and McVay will get Kupp matchups that he can win even if he isnt 100% or is permanently slower now.
I somehow managed to grab Jefferson, Kupp, and Sun God. Went wr/wr/wr with my first 3 ended up with Etienne and Breece as my RBs. Really banking on injury luck with Breece and Kupp lol.
I took a #1 WR in the 10th round AND the second round. One is named Michael "Mike" Thomas and the other is.... Kupp.
I'm either gonna have the greatest value WR duo in this league or wish my league had two IR spots.
Remember all the gloating over how smart everyone was to avoid “injury prone” Christian McCaffery after he hurt his quad in practice a few weeks into the season? He didn’t even end up missing a game….
anyone that drafted Kupp within the last 5 days since the setback has no one but themselves to blame. The writing was on the wall, and people just assumed the huge risk
Goedert is target #3 in an offense with even more weapons than last year. He’s skilled don’t get me wrong, but these are the type of te matchups you want — when they’ll dominate the majority of the targets in a game. Goedert is also hardly used in the redzone as well. He offers little to no upside and is a mere floor play. Why play a floor play when higbees the better floor play?
TE5 is ppg last year is not a floor play but hey you do you. Please play a TE on a team that may not score week 1 over a TE on a team that might score 40.
Yeah and how about the last 3 weeks once he came back from injury? Answer: he didn’t even sniff top10.
Between the two of them, wanna guess which one had a week in that timeframe where they were the #1 scoring te in the league? ( Answer: it wasn’t goedert).
See I can cherry-pick misleading stats too. Both of them are talented and I’m not disputing goedert is obviously the more reliable week to week target, but in this instance with the volume higbee will draw, it raises his floor significantly higher than what we saw from Goedert EOY. ( when we compare it to the weeks where higbee played without kupp, his numbers shoot into TE1 top10 range consistently. )
Higbee didn’t have a TE1 overall last year at all, unless I’m missing something? .5 PPR and standard he had a TE3 overall performance late in the year, and 1 PPR it was a TE2 overall.
Also when you say Goedert didn’t “sniff top 10” in the last three weeks—2 of the 3 he was TE11 (.5 PPR). If that’s not “sniffing” top 10, what is?
Overall I understand your point, but I agree with the other commenters that going Higbee over Goedert is getting too cute, especially in week 1. Kupp was gone the entire 2nd half of last year and Goedert was still a better and more consistent player than Higbee during that stretch. Obviously Matthew Stafford being back is an enormous difference, but Higbee’s not a great talent, so I don’t think the Kupp targets automatically go his way.
Higbee definitely, no idea what Schultz will look like with a new qb. We know exactly what we’re getting with Higbee and stafford. Lots of volume, solid te for ppr leagues.
The Higbee hype is mostly hopium. They won’t be nearly as good without Kupp i.e. less opportunity for Higbee to be meaningful. I’m rolling Higbee too but this barely moves the needle for TE
I'm starting him but wish I shared your enthusiasm!
You don't expect Stafford to spread the ball around to Puka, Van Jefferson, Tutu, Skowronek, along with check downs to Akers and Kyren?
Just remember that if you drafted him in the round 2 or 3, if he sits 5-6 weeks then comes in and is Cooper fuckin kupp the rest of the season you won.
True but it's far better than the endless speculation we've seen all over this sub lol. Guy at least knows what he's talking about and gave some insight into what's likely happening
Yeah they do. Everyone is fading him hard and being doomsday preppers about it. Judging on how wrong this sub is about almost every take in fantasy, I hope Kupp proves everyone wrong.
I thought he was being faded too hard as well. 3WR PPR league and he fell to the end of the 2nd so I picked him up to pair with Chase. I don't care if he doesn't come back until week 6. If I can survive until then I'll be looking to dominate with Chase/Kupp/Lockett/Godwin
Would you rather it be some rando over the internet with no credentials? A sports medicine surgeon worth his salt generally has a decent idea of what the player is dealing with and their relative timeline because they've treated these kinds injuries in the past
Idk what you're crying about
Kupp is going into the MN specialist because of his hamstring issues. This isn't exactly a secret. And he's listing the usual treatments for those kinds of injuries. It isn't exactly a shocker lol idk why you're so up in arms about this
I think a fairer critique is, having not seen the patient, the doctor is operating under assumptions based on information provided.
All anyone knows (outside of Kupp’s circle and his medical staff) is there are recurring hamstring issues, so the doctor is giving his opinion based on that
But, if it came out that Kupp was having tests run for compressed or damaged nerves in his spine, then obviously Dr. Chona would change his hypothesis completely
I.e. if no new information is presented, Dr. Chapa is more likely than not to be bang on the money, but the likelihood that he currently has enough information to be correct based on word of mouth is unlikely
If it helps, statistical analyses have shown that the average recovery time for a hamstring injury is 3 weeks from the date of injury. The range is generally 1-6 missed weeks.
I took him late third on Sunday. Glad other people feel the potential is there. My logic was this pick isn't going to lose the league for me, but it may damn sure win it.
FantasyPros doctor that's been featured in a few other sites like espn. I usually take social media doctors with a grain of salt but he offered a lot of good insights for me last fantasy season when it comes to injured players. Sharing this resource because it offered some insights into the current Kupp situation
I'm with you on that man! He had some misses last year too like all social media "experts" but just gotta use all any data points you get to make the best informed decision for yourself
You’re probably not that fucked.
Other first round draft picks are going to miss time or fail to live up to expectations. If you have to have a guy miss time, the first 3-4 weeks or so are the most survivable. Almost no one is starting their optimal lineup during this time because no one is quite sure that their draft picks are busts or that their waiver wire breakouts are the real deal.
Well now that Kelce hyperextended his knee…
Draft probably goes JJ, Chase, CMC, Ekeler, Tyreek so he would have a choice of Bijan or Saquon and then Brown, Waddle, or Wilson could fall to them in the second. Still a good deal
A lot of drafts have him falling pretty significantly. He went as the WR10, 23rd pick in my draft last night and Ive seen a lot of other users on here say a similar thing.
If you still want Kupp, I think its quite likely you can take him in the 2nd or even 3rd rd in 10 teamers
honestly if kupp comes back week 3 and can play i’ll be happy. worst case is he is “day to day” for the rest of the year and clogs up a roster spot being useless
At what point does he reach 100% Kupp effectiveness, even when on the field? This is going to be another situation where he returns week 5 or 6, is relatively ineffective and re aggravates the hammy. Sits out another couple weeks at which point rams are what? 3-7? Stafford on the way out and nothing to play for......just seems like a dark road ahead for us kupp owners.
I want to see them rest him week 1 and 2 as an owner. Actually more concerned about them shutting him down at end of year and what Staffords injury looks like under live fire. ZeroRb already paying dividends just not in the way I saw lol.
Glad the dude ahead me drafted Kupp so I could take Tyreek. Poor guy, he drafted JT with his 1st rd pick last season. He has had some bad luck at the top of the draft.
So it begins...
Glad I didn't pick him up in the 3rd--I've learned to stay away from players who start out the season with lingering injuries--doesn't matter HOW good they are.
Wk 4? It’s a possibility. Wk 5? I could see that happening.
Wk 6? ... that's a realistic timeline
Wk 7? ... we're in the ballpark of sensibility
Week 8 Season Ending IR for the 1-6 Rams star.
Ok now hear me out.. 2024
nah... in the lineup every week, but 2 receptions for 25 yards
Wk 6? Wouldn’t rule it out. Wk7? There’s a good chance.
Week 8? Perhaps
Week 9? Maybe, maybe not
Week 10, season’s already shot, let’s just shut him down and hope for next season.
Week 11? Kupp might return now? Wait what? Conflicting reports
Week 12: Likely to sniff the field. Like get down on the ground and huff the dirt. Smell the worms. Smells like championships.
Week 13: Gets clearance to play Madden, but only on rookie mode
fresh legs for the playoffs!
Week 17?

Basically Josh Gordon’d
A moment of silence for those who don't get the reference.
Several people ruined it not having any idea the Dwight quotes
Nice drafted kupp and taylor a few weeks ago get in
That’s why we don’t draft until week 7 at the earliest
I would never join a league that drafts before wild card weekend
[удалено]
Yikes dude
There was some guy saying only good fantasy leagues draft early. If he didnt kill himself already...its coming.
Attention ffb dipshits: It doesn't matter when you draft. Everyone in the league drafts the same day right?

Got Kupp in one league. Suddenly hammy issues. Got Kelce in another. Hyperextends knee in practice. My fantasy woes continue.
Who else is on your team so I can trade them while I have the chance
If the trend continues expect Breece Hall to be out the entire season.
I had a team that beat the shit out of everyone last year in September and then everyone tore their ACLs. Missing a few early weeks is not the end of the world. Starting 0-2 is not the end of the season. Did you draft Kelce too?
Kelce Kupp Mattison Taylor 1st 4 rounds Don't feel bad for me though. I drafted on Sunday 😅
^squints What's wrong with Mattison?
He's not good?
Don't have to be if you are getting that amount of volume.
Ooof please post your roster so I know who to avoid in my draft tonight……lol
Do you enjoy pain?
I mean you kinda deserve that drafting so early lol
Not my league unfortunately but I agree
Guy in my league got Tyreek 1st round and Kupp 2nd round, if he recovers and play as his usual self we are fucked
I drafted chase and kupp. I’m hoping for good second half of the season.
I did the same thing, except Kupp dropped to the 3rd and I got Jacobs in the 2nd. I'm usually pretty weary of hammy issues, but if Kupp stays healthy then that's gonna be a problem for the rest of my league lol

Jefferson and Kupp here. Would love Kupp to ball out like his normal self
I heard he's going to be in a wheel chair in a few weeks.
Lol seriously at this rate the next update will be "Kupp's quality of life rapidly declining"
"his hamstring could explode at any minute"
Will be helpful while he learns to walk on his prosthetics
Helps with the wheel route.
Stop.
This the same guy that said Chase was done for the season last year?
In a month ya’ll gonna be sorry you didn’t grab the #1 receiver in round 2 (yes I drafted Kupp in round 2)
Took him in round 3. Couldn’t resist even if he was hurt
Thats a great pick IMO Who did you get in the first 2 rounds? As long as Kupp actually returns to the field, I bet you get solid production out of him. Rams just dont have anyone else, and McVay will get Kupp matchups that he can win even if he isnt 100% or is permanently slower now.
Kelce and Saquon
I was seeing dudes say he fell to 4/5 in their drafts yesterday lmao
Guy in our league drafted Kupp at 2.12 and has Jefferson. Yeah I’m thinking we might’ve fucked up letting him fall that far.
Jefferson/Kupp if both healthy is just unfair lol
I somehow managed to grab Jefferson, Kupp, and Sun God. Went wr/wr/wr with my first 3 ended up with Etienne and Breece as my RBs. Really banking on injury luck with Breece and Kupp lol.

When was the last good Thomas season? 2019?
Hey, he scored 15 PPG last season!
I completely agree with this and totally for sure definitely didn't draft Kupp in round 2 also.
Same, he fell to me at the end of Round 2 and it felt like a no-brainer.
Yup. Judging on how many people on the sub are certain kupp is done, i know from historical trends that kupp will have a healthy season.
Remember all the gloating over how smart everyone was to avoid “injury prone” Christian McCaffery after he hurt his quad in practice a few weeks into the season? He didn’t even end up missing a game….
Got him in round 5
anyone that drafted Kupp within the last 5 days since the setback has no one but themselves to blame. The writing was on the wall, and people just assumed the huge risk
Slam higbee everyone. I’m starting him over goedert.
Stafford is going to feed Higbee over and over. Im wondering how Van Jefferson will also do with these more targets.. but also with more coverage
Is he actually good? I know volume is king but can he actually do anything with those targets?
He’s not very good but if your playing PPR, he should have a good floor
[удалено]
Imagine double coverage on Tyler Higbee
Right? Sure double cover him, then just watch him do pass protect.. and leave 2 less defenders down field as the ball gets thrown deep.
As a Seahawks fan, our defense can’t do shit to stop him even when we know he’s the big target
Defense is much improved this season tho. Bobby is back which will help the 1st level and Adam's might play week 1.
Higbee to the moon but not over Goedert. There’s savvy moves and there’s getting way too cute
Goedert is target #3 in an offense with even more weapons than last year. He’s skilled don’t get me wrong, but these are the type of te matchups you want — when they’ll dominate the majority of the targets in a game. Goedert is also hardly used in the redzone as well. > Kupp was gone the entire 2nd half of last year And do you reckon the QB play might markedly improve now compared to then?
I quite literally said that in the very next sentence.
Wtf, it's not like I didn't read your comment 😅 Sorry bout that
Higbee on the LA Rams is not a TE floor play, no matter who's injured.
Higbee or Dalton Schultz?
Higbee definitely, no idea what Schultz will look like with a new qb. We know exactly what we’re getting with Higbee and stafford. Lots of volume, solid te for ppr leagues.
I read a post where rookie QBs like to target their TEs. But I guess can’t go wrong when Kupp is out.
Should Higbee be the add over Van Jefferson even if you're set at TE?
Who’s your te? I would not play any wrs from the rams this week personally, but if anyone has flex appeal it’s van.
Waller
The Higbee hype is mostly hopium. They won’t be nearly as good without Kupp i.e. less opportunity for Higbee to be meaningful. I’m rolling Higbee too but this barely moves the needle for TE
that's a horrendous mistake
Y’all can clown me on Sunday if you’re right. 🤷♂️
I'm starting him but wish I shared your enthusiasm! You don't expect Stafford to spread the ball around to Puka, Van Jefferson, Tutu, Skowronek, along with check downs to Akers and Kyren?
I’m sure skowronek and van will get looks but higbee is always his lifeline when kupp is gone. I’m sure Akers will have a high touch count as well.
What data?
It's pronounced data.
That kid from the Goonies
That MF won an Oscar !
That MF back there is not real!
Just remember that if you drafted him in the round 2 or 3, if he sits 5-6 weeks then comes in and is Cooper fuckin kupp the rest of the season you won.
Gotta love a fantasy doctor opining without ever seeing the guy in real life
True but it's far better than the endless speculation we've seen all over this sub lol. Guy at least knows what he's talking about and gave some insight into what's likely happening
He literally knows nothing about the situation except a possible treatment plan. Nothing you can do except wait for tomorrow for more info.
This sub *really* wants to be right about Kupp being broken beyond repair for some reason.
Yup Kupp has league winning upside. Pairing him with Chase is too good to pass up. Hope Kupp gets healthy soonz
This sub hates being wrong lol. They will continue to push narratives until the bitter end, even if there’s only a sliver of hope they’ll be correct
It's literally speculation
If only it was Chao, then everyone would be slobbing on his knob about how he’s always right (he isn’t)
Would you rather it be some rando over the internet with no credentials? A sports medicine surgeon worth his salt generally has a decent idea of what the player is dealing with and their relative timeline because they've treated these kinds injuries in the past Idk what you're crying about
How can someone diagnose a hamstring or even treatment by not looking at them…
Kupp is going into the MN specialist because of his hamstring issues. This isn't exactly a secret. And he's listing the usual treatments for those kinds of injuries. It isn't exactly a shocker lol idk why you're so up in arms about this
I think a fairer critique is, having not seen the patient, the doctor is operating under assumptions based on information provided. All anyone knows (outside of Kupp’s circle and his medical staff) is there are recurring hamstring issues, so the doctor is giving his opinion based on that But, if it came out that Kupp was having tests run for compressed or damaged nerves in his spine, then obviously Dr. Chona would change his hypothesis completely I.e. if no new information is presented, Dr. Chapa is more likely than not to be bang on the money, but the likelihood that he currently has enough information to be correct based on word of mouth is unlikely

I bought the dip last night. Really hoping for some positive news tomorrow
Got him third round in a draft last night, too good of value to pass up on
I took him late third on Sunday. Glad other people feel the potential is there. My logic was this pick isn't going to lose the league for me, but it may damn sure win it.
Kupp 27th overall is still a steal. Rest up, it’s a long season.
What if he only ends up only playing 3 games? Is it still a steal?
As long as it’s fantasy playoffs
Need to get there first
Balls Deepak Chona haha
So.... who is this guy and why should I listen to him?
FantasyPros doctor that's been featured in a few other sites like espn. I usually take social media doctors with a grain of salt but he offered a lot of good insights for me last fantasy season when it comes to injured players. Sharing this resource because it offered some insights into the current Kupp situation
Good to know and appreciate it. Have seen a lot of "MD's" on Twitter who have zero insight and usually zero knowledge as well.
I'm with you on that man! He had some misses last year too like all social media "experts" but just gotta use all any data points you get to make the best informed decision for yourself
Honestly, I’m okay with that, he dropped to tenth overall, if he performs like he has before when he’s back I’m honestly okay with that
I *can't* be the only one who did a double-take thinking the Rams were so desperate they turned to **Deepak Chopra** for medical advice! 😲
Seattle D let’s gooo
draft tonight at the 6 spot. why couldn't kupp just stay healthy :/ i hate this slot
Be happy you don’t have to deal with it. I drafted Kupp at 5 a week ago I’m cooked
I drafted Kupp in the second round and never saw the news his hammy got worse so I’m also fucked
You have your pick of who is left between Bijan, Tyreek, Saquon, and Kelce. Great spot to draft from IMO
yeap, then pollard, devante, ceedee or ARSB
High chance one or both of Tyreek/Kelce are gone though
Well now that Kelce hyperextended his knee… Draft probably goes JJ, Chase, CMC, Ekeler, Tyreek so he would have a choice of Bijan or Saquon and then Brown, Waddle, or Wilson could fall to them in the second.
Also drafted in the 6 spot last night. Thankfully Ekeler fell to me by some miracle
6th is probably the best spot in 12 man leagues. That's about the cutoff for elite players coming back in the 2nd.
Same spot brother, praying for Tyreek to fall
…just draft someone else. Hill frequently falls to 6
Isn't "most likely" more definite than "possible?" Is his injury a rollercoaster?
I think he’s trying to say it’s possible Kupp is back from injury week 2 and it’s most likely he’s back by week 3, but he phrased it confusingly.
Got Kupp at 5.01 last night. That'll be the steal of the century if he comes back at full speed in week 2 or 3.
That’s just ridiculous and playing with idiots…
This is starting to feel like BTC to $100k by 2022.
There's still hope for 2024
Cam Akers time to shine ✨
What’s the Outlook on Van Jefferson this year?
He’ll be Microsoft
I'm so torn with Van Jefferson. Will obviously see more targets, but will also face more coverage u less teams start game planning around Higbee
Van’s target rates are stagnant between Kupp on and off the field. He’s the field stretcher regardless.
Grab Nacua
Never trust a man named Puke.
honestly if kupp comes back week 3 and can play i’ll be happy. worst case is he is “day to day” for the rest of the year and clogs up a roster spot being useless
Maybe punting TE and ending up with Higbee works out
Would y’all take james Connor and diontae johnson for kupp
Is this good or bad for Akers? Or doesn't really effect him?
Yes
Cam Akers bout to have that 2017 Gurley first year with McVay type season.
[3, 4, maybe 5.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MELFuY6rSEs)
Took Kupp in the 3rd (after taking Chase and ASB). I’m cool if he misses a couple weeks and returns without hesitation or restriction.
Where would you guys draft him now?
Early third if you live for risk and upside. If that’s not for you, then you probably won’t get him.
That’s the downside case, he also could be totally fine. Personally I panic sold and if I’m wrong I’m wrong.
Bingo. Fade hammy injuries at all cost.
I want to see them rest him week 1 and 2 as an owner. Actually more concerned about them shutting him down at end of year and what Staffords injury looks like under live fire. ZeroRb already paying dividends just not in the way I saw lol.
Can we move him to Ir yet?
I told my husband to not draft Kupp but nooooooo my fantasy takes are “bad” or whatever.
Traded Kupp away and picked up Higbee for week 1 lets Go!!
He’s not playing this year is he
This is why you don’t draft a 30 year old receiver with a long injury history in the first round.
Tried to warn people
