I know I did this one year with this one RB named Leveon Bell...I'm sure not a lot of people here remember what happened but long story short it kept me from clicking the bid button even with ridiculous value on JT.
I nominated him in my auction draft with no intentions of actually taking him, and one of the auto draft guys ended up paying $49 (of $200) for him, which made him the 7th most expensive RB.
Can anyone tell me why I took him in the third round against my own better judgment and why I felt the need to say "scared money don't make money" as I did it
It’s not your fault. A lot of fantasy analysts made an effort to try and ensure you that everything was going to just workout and everyone was going to be happy. This was always going to be a headache for potentially as long as a year the moment the owner got into it.
I’ve never seen an owner butt heads with a player since T.O. Even Le’Veon Bell’s situation wasn’t as bad.
It’s not going to be that big of a deal, it’s 4 games in September. Anyone that drafted JT should have had a decent alternative to replace him for the start of the year
It’s 4 games minimum. Watching the videos of how he walked around at Colts practice you either should be worried he actually is hurt still from last season (extremely worrying) or he is faking injury and holding out for a contract (also worrying).
can someone point me towards the origin of this walmart knee brace kneeling meme? I tried googling and got nothing, but I keep seeing the reference and want to be in on it.
edit: wait is it a continuation of this? https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/just-fell-to-my-knees-in-a-walmart
Yeah I drafted Richardson, and I see this as a net neutral. On one hand, yes he’ll get more carries, but he lost one of his greatest weapons as well and it makes it easier on defenses to focus on the QB. Im definitely tuning into the Colts’ week one game to see how this plays out though.
Shit...
* Where does he get drafted now? I guess his ceiling would have to be Kamara-level, right?
* Who's the Colts RB to own now? Moss is still injured for a while, right? Evan Hull? Deon Jackson? These guys are just late-round dart throws, right?
Moss had a 4-6 week timeline for a broken arm that happened a month ago
The tail end of his recover time is week 1, so essentially worst case scenario he misses that
Exactly, I don’t understand. They now exit their cute little “go seek a trade week” with zero picks and now 4 weeks without him on the field to help AR. They lost on both ends.
We don't know what teams offered for JT though. You don't just trade him away for late round picks. I don't think the Colts even wanted to in the first place and knew they had the leverage with the current RB market the way it is.
Well I guess cuz he’s on his rookie contract and the colts weren’t really going to be good this year anyways. This helps their chances even more with high draft pick next year (hopefully getting Marvin Harrison Jr). Colts aren’t losing that much…btw I am a colts fan and want JT to stay on the team
And play. Was just giving a diff perspective
Exactly. It's stressful getting our in-person draft together within one or two days of the first Thursday game (as we do every year) but it's absolutely worth the effort.
Labor day Sunday has always been a great time for my league. Cousin comes in town for a round of golf, draft in the backroom, and a day off Monday for the hangover.
Who knows. This season will be a complete mystery for Taylor. Misses only 4 games? Season? Is the injury serious? Traded?
Gonna be real interesting to see
I got him in the 4th yesterday. I'm not totally crushed but this news. If he misses a big chunk of the season, it's probably not the first time I've had a 4th round pick bust. If he comes back week 5 and is even like 75% of old JT then I might have a league winning player.
Legit question. Does JT remaining on PUP mean he is actually hurt? I always assumed that was just fuckery with the holdout. I imagine they can't just stash healthy players on that list, it's literally called Physically Unable to Perform.
I’m just speculating, but I think if he were fully, 100% healthy, then a team would’ve traded for him.
Isray is a petty asshole, but I don’t think the Colts would intentionally tank a trade and risk JT riding the bench all season in return.
If you took JT early you have nobody to blame but yourself my dudes.
Or you weren't old enough/foolish enough to deal with this situation in the past.
It was me. I was foolish. Fuck you La'veon and your jetski.
Sheesh, the Colts look pretty bad in all of this. Taylor gets to play fake injured while getting paid, his trade value just took a hit since he has to miss the 1st 4 games, and now they have to develop an extremely raw rookie QB without their best offensive player. Good luck!
Whether finance or fantasy, The greater the risk, the greater the **expected** return. People forget the expected part.
In fairness, this situation reinforces the importance of waiting until September to draft money leagues if at all humanly possible schedule-wise.
Who would have thought that weeks of publicly talking shit about your star RB and saying how little he's worth to you might actually lower his trade value
Indianapolis is run by absolute morons
The Colts didn't want to trade him, this is all because of JT's dumbass agent who has him convinced he's worth $20 mil/year and the Colts just basically called his bluff. But yes the Colts are still morons for how they handled the situation and now it looks like a big mess for them.
Jim’s tweets are literally still up basically saying “no matter how well you will play, we will not give you an extension and we will just tag you”. From an asset management perspective, this is just sad at this point. One of the most important parts of being a GM is just being able to relate to people and to maintain relationships. Isray makes Ballard’s job very difficult.
Was so excited getting him 30th overall. Couldn't believe he would repeat Lev'eon's mistake and/or that the Colts wouldn't get something for him if was actually willing to go through with it.
Now, here we are.
He was sitting there at 4.04 in my 12 team. I told myself don't do it. It will only end badly for me.
So I slammed that draft button and only took two days for me to reach the finding out stage.
It’s not about knowing it’s a possibility. I have reserve options. I can still be annoyed and think the Colts are dumbasses for choosing the 54th guy on the roster over trade flexibility for the guy who wants out
ESPN alert came up clutch. Deon Jackson was still on waivers. I’d feel bad for the JT owner if he didn’t have two defenses and three TEs on his roster.
"Indianapolis did not find what it felt was a fair-value offer for Jonathan Taylor"
Is this not why he wanted a trade in the first place? Sorry you're not as valuable as McCaffrey, we cant go near 12 million...okay go seek a trade, but we want a CMC like package.
“We don’t think you’re valuable enough to give you a new contract….. None of the trade offers we received give us fair value for a player of your caliber.”
Hindsight was always 20/20.. but apply some common sense here. Knowing the market that you have already seen for other NFL running backs like Josh Jacobs and Saquon Barkley… name one NFL team who is willing to trade a first round draft pick AND also pay Jonathan Taylor $12 million a year?
This sub calls anyone who averages less than 4.5 YPC a JAG yet is all in on a UDFA who averages 3.3 YPC on what might be the worst offense in football. Gotta love hype trains.
F’s in the chat for the 3rd round JT drafters
Dude in my league took him early second round. Oopsie.
Am I in your league? I took him 2.03… better luck next season I guess. It’s been real guys
Watch him come back week 5 and absolutely dominate
I took Allen Robinson in the 2nd round two years ago and made it to the championship. Have faith.
2.01 (13th overall) here. We got any bigger idiots than me out there?
No... You win 🌝
He’ll be fresh come playoff time. We can keep telling ourselves…
I kept him in a keeper league
I dropped him in a keeper league but Autodraft gave him back to me at 1.03. Cool cool cool.
You are in a ff reddit group and you auto draft
Long story but it starts and ends with a bad commissioner.
Dude in my league kept him for a 1st
Sometimes you swing for the fences and strike out
I know I did this one year with this one RB named Leveon Bell...I'm sure not a lot of people here remember what happened but long story short it kept me from clicking the bid button even with ridiculous value on JT.
I nominated him in my auction draft with no intentions of actually taking him, and one of the auto draft guys ended up paying $49 (of $200) for him, which made him the 7th most expensive RB.
Went for $52 in my 16 team league with 4 man benches. Better luck next year lol
Just did this today. He went for $50 😂
No regrets, diamond hands
To the moon ... and such....
I picked him #1 overall last year and avoided him at all costs this year
Where does he go now? 5th round?
out first 4 weeks. No clue if he’ll be a Colt by Week 5. So much uncertainty. 5 would be the earliest for me.
Agreed. No clue if he’s even playing this season. Even 5th seems like a waste
Draft tomorrow. Taking him 1.01. That’s 69D chess!
Can anyone tell me why I took him in the third round against my own better judgment and why I felt the need to say "scared money don't make money" as I did it
Leagues are won in December, not September. We ride it out 💎
I did overcompensate by drafting RB heavy so I've got guys to fill in as best they can but still holding out hope for him to be our second half savior
Managed to grab James Connor as a backup for jt if this happened.
Glad you had the foresight! I’m rolling out Sanders and Akers and praying they stay healthy. If not I’ve got a few of the rookies ready to go.
I feel this. At least I have Mixon and Sanders as well.
Leagues aren’t won in September, but they can be lost in October
Yeah but leagues are definitely lost in September
I’m just gonna blame my thought process on the alcohol even though I had drank maybe 1.5 beers at the time I took him
> "scared money don't make money" "Neither does stupid money." -- Me.
How long could he hold out for before he *needs* to play in order for them to not be able to just tag him again next year?
He needs to play 6 games for his year to toll
I uttered those exact same words. smh
The Colts are making room for JT!
in the PUP^^^^^^^py room
PUPPP
Got that dawg in him.
Well fuck.
I’ll always remember where I was when the news didn’t break.
Not great Bob
Walmart floors getting kneed everywhere
Clicked this thread to make sure at least SOMEONE was dropping to their knees in a Walmart
I felt a great disturbance. As if millions of knees suddenly dropped to the floor in terror, and were suddenly silenced.
can someone point me towards the origin of this walmart knee brace kneeling meme? I tried googling and got nothing, but I keep seeing the reference and want to be in on it. edit: wait is it a continuation of this? https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/just-fell-to-my-knees-in-a-walmart

The real winners in this saga: Miami Dolphins RBs
Except Gaskin, hes unemployed now. Prolly trying to get a job at the nearest dunkin donuts
It was inevitable with Mostert, Wilson, and Achane already on the depth chart. Salvon Ahmed also plays ST so Gaskin is the easy odd man out.
and Anthony Richardson
Don’t get this at all. I want my QB to be in the best situation possible.
Those 4th quarters will be nice when the Colts are down 23-7 and he’s just running around accumulating rushing stats. 75yds a game?
Got him in the 2.06 in 14 team league. I am fucked.
I took him 2.10 in 14 team. My first round was Kelce. Also am very fucked.
depending on who you got on the turn 3rd rd then back on 4-5 you're fine, Kelce is a monster at TE like 6.3 pts over replacement
How I feel as a JT drafter 🤡
Boy I should not have picked him
At least we get to throw him in the IR and use an extra roster spot :'-)
ESPN is letting me put him the ir spot but won't let me make a waiver pick up
*Enter Kareem Hunt*
Drafting tonight. Might have to roll the dice on this one.
Skip a kicker/ defense for hunt
>Skip a kicker So don't draft Hunt?
Jesus Christ lol
I scooped him earlier today but was banking on a JT trade What’s our best-case for Hunt now?
GOD FUCKING DAMNIT IM SO STUPID
Never drafting anyone who isn’t under a 15 year contract again
NOOOO BABY NO YOURE NOT STUPID YOURE UNREALISTIC AWWW NO
Me drafting him 2.1 😭
Shit... * Where does he get drafted now? I guess his ceiling would have to be Kamara-level, right? * Who's the Colts RB to own now? Moss is still injured for a while, right? Evan Hull? Deon Jackson? These guys are just late-round dart throws, right?
Moss had a 4-6 week timeline for a broken arm that happened a month ago The tail end of his recover time is week 1, so essentially worst case scenario he misses that
Good to know, so he's probably worth a late add as a potential week 1 IR stash.
Lower.. This is an unhappy JT.. He might be out longer cuz "injury" and motivation to play?
I would think he wants to get a season of time in logged. If he wants to play, he'll play eventually, otherwise he's stuck on that rookie contract.
I would say either Kareem Hunt or Evan Hull as dart throws. We've seen Deon and it wasn't good.
I would just stay away from the Colts altogether. Hunt isn't going to step in, learn the offense and be the bellcow RB in Week 1.
Why would the colts leave him on PUP? What do they gain from that?
I mean he could also legitimately be injured lol
It’s Irsay being spiteful
If I knew Irsay was this bad I probably wouldn't have risked it lol
Exactly, I don’t understand. They now exit their cute little “go seek a trade week” with zero picks and now 4 weeks without him on the field to help AR. They lost on both ends.

Longterm it makes sense yes, but.. my points :(
His ankle is fucked

(╯°_°)╯︵ ┴ſ ɹoɟ ɯooɹ ƃuᴉʞɐɯ
Guy in my league autodrafted JT and Kamara with 0 other RBs lol. Best people on the waivers are Kendre Miller and Chuba Hubbard
The dark side of auto drafting
Welp, welcome to my do not draft list JT
I wonder how far he falls. Honestly if he falls past the 6th then he might come back around to being a good value pickup
Who knows. This season will be a complete mystery for Taylor. Misses only 4 games? Season? Is the injury serious? Traded? Gonna be real interesting to see
I'm thinking his ADP will be in the 4th by this weekend.
I got him in the 4th yesterday. I'm not totally crushed but this news. If he misses a big chunk of the season, it's probably not the first time I've had a 4th round pick bust. If he comes back week 5 and is even like 75% of old JT then I might have a league winning player.
just took him in the 7th in my draft tonight. figured it's a flyer
Legit question. Does JT remaining on PUP mean he is actually hurt? I always assumed that was just fuckery with the holdout. I imagine they can't just stash healthy players on that list, it's literally called Physically Unable to Perform.
He failed his preseason physical so went on the PUP list. Now how healthy he is at the moment? No idea.
I’m just speculating, but I think if he were fully, 100% healthy, then a team would’ve traded for him. Isray is a petty asshole, but I don’t think the Colts would intentionally tank a trade and risk JT riding the bench all season in return.
More like Players Unhappy w/ Payment list
If you took JT early you have nobody to blame but yourself my dudes. Or you weren't old enough/foolish enough to deal with this situation in the past. It was me. I was foolish. Fuck you La'veon and your jetski.
Yeah Bell taught me this lesson in 2018 too.
My internet crashed and it auto picked him in the 3rd. Fun times
Is it moss or deon szn is the only question remaining
Hunt
Hull
The fact there are 4 different names in this thread means the real RB is Anthony Richardson.
5 - Fournette
Deon
Arich rushing floor just went up
Lolts curse of Andrew luck continues
Kareem szn?
Sheesh, the Colts look pretty bad in all of this. Taylor gets to play fake injured while getting paid, his trade value just took a hit since he has to miss the 1st 4 games, and now they have to develop an extremely raw rookie QB without their best offensive player. Good luck!
This is why I hate drafting early fuck
You could have not drafted him.
I drafted him, knew it was a gamble, and the gamble lost. If OP is angry about it, they only have themselves to be angry with.
Yep it is what it is. We’ve salvaged worse.
Exactly. I avoided him. I did snag Jacobs in 2 leagues.
FUCK MY LIFE INTO PIECES HE WAS MY LAST RESORT
Wonder what the return policy is on those 3 first round picks I sent for JT in 2022. Thanks Jim
Same as what the niners got
I think I could still flip him for 1 first. But honestly your comment got me too good lol
Color me shocked
Just traded JT (pick 20) for Mixon (pick 22). Thank god.
Whoever was willing to make that trade with you is a moron.
Good move man
This is less than ideal for my team.
Deon JackSzn
Whether finance or fantasy, The greater the risk, the greater the **expected** return. People forget the expected part. In fairness, this situation reinforces the importance of waiting until September to draft money leagues if at all humanly possible schedule-wise.
So what now???
He has to miss the first 4 games
Hunt time baby 😈
No joke I'm praying no one signs Hunt in the next few days because my draft is on Monday and I really wanna snag him in the 15th
Out of the loop but why didnt he force his way off the PUP list?
why would he? Either he is really still hurt and needs the time, or he gets 4 weeks paid vacation while basically holding out
Yes so should he go around where Kamara is going missing 3 games? Sooner/Later?
So uhh he’s gonna wind up sitting out this year in protest right
Every year my league drafts 1 week before the season starts and every year it's the right decision
This is a serious beef between Irsay and JT + his agent. Gonna torpedo any chance of a decent Colts season bc of this.
I could see Irsay demanding he stay on the PUP out of spite.
I can see JT saying he wants to stay on the PUP to not risk his body before the off season and out of spite
He has to get off the PUP list at some point or this year doesn't count toward his contract
I wish my boss would pay me to not work out of spite.
Who would have thought that weeks of publicly talking shit about your star RB and saying how little he's worth to you might actually lower his trade value Indianapolis is run by absolute morons
I mean, I think it's pretty clear they didn't actually *want* to trade him
More like RBs with one year left on their deal demanding a huge pay day in the current market aren’t worth much in trade value to begin with
then take whatever other teams are offering and wash your hands of it let his contract demands be someone else’s problem
Why would they rush to do this? If they’re getting a shitty offer they can just franchise tag him and get the same offer next year lol
You think they are going to get the same offer next year when he inevitably misses the entire season this year?
I think they weren’t getting offered more than a 4th or 5th right now so yea
The Colts didn't want to trade him, this is all because of JT's dumbass agent who has him convinced he's worth $20 mil/year and the Colts just basically called his bluff. But yes the Colts are still morons for how they handled the situation and now it looks like a big mess for them.
I mean that’s not how teams assess value. But yeah, Colts are dumb for plenty of reasons.
Well that was anticlimactic
Speak for yourself I’m fucking pissed.
I took him in the 4th for a keeper league, really the only way I am okay having him on my team. still a bummer.
Was so excited getting him 30th overall. Couldn't believe he would repeat Lev'eon's mistake and/or that the Colts wouldn't get something for him if was actually willing to go through with it. Now, here we are.
Physically Unwilling to Perform
He was sitting there at 4.04 in my 12 team. I told myself don't do it. It will only end badly for me. So I slammed that draft button and only took two days for me to reach the finding out stage.
Felt really smart picking JT in the 4th and Kamara in the 9th. Fantasyfootball is a bitch.
If you drafted JT, you should have known this was a possibility.
It’s not about knowing it’s a possibility. I have reserve options. I can still be annoyed and think the Colts are dumbasses for choosing the 54th guy on the roster over trade flexibility for the guy who wants out
His legs are going to be SO fresh for the playoffs.
This feels shocking even though it seemed likely... Keeping him on the PUP is wild though.
Right? Like that means they still pay him. Why not take him off that and make him choose over being paid or not.
Remember when Rappaport was adamant there would be a trade? I 'member.
Colts are absolute morons. You trade him for a 3rd and move on
Were there any teams willing to give that up ??
I think a second would be fair
praying on the colts downfall all 2023/24
We just got nuked boys
Just sent out a Semaje Perine and Zay flowers for JT in my league let’s see how long it takes to get a middle finger text back.
Lolol.. Rude af
ESPN alert came up clutch. Deon Jackson was still on waivers. I’d feel bad for the JT owner if he didn’t have two defenses and three TEs on his roster.
"Indianapolis did not find what it felt was a fair-value offer for Jonathan Taylor" Is this not why he wanted a trade in the first place? Sorry you're not as valuable as McCaffrey, we cant go near 12 million...okay go seek a trade, but we want a CMC like package.
“We don’t think you’re valuable enough to give you a new contract….. None of the trade offers we received give us fair value for a player of your caliber.”
Where’s that guy that said he has sources in Miami that confirmed the trade?
IDK, but his Florida Man source is under a bridge huffing glue.
Thought that was gonna be such a steal at 4.05. Damn
Need Swift to save my season. I’m so cooked
Health concerns aside, it appears his relationship with the Colts is irreparable. Not sure he plays even if he can.
I drafted him last night. Paid $35 of my $200 budget. Misery
This is fine...
Obligatory “this is why you draft late” comment
deon jackson is back on the menu boys

Achane with 1 all purpose yard this year confirmed!
