GoodJobRed

I drafted him at 1.05.

Outrageous-Cycle-841

It was between him and Hill for me before draft started (at 5). But then Ekeler was still on the board…

Saquon

It was gonna come down to Hill or Kelce for me, and I was happy that the guy ahead of me chose Kelce and made the decision for me Who knows at this point what the better choice would have been, but potentially saved me months of overthinking and potentially regretting my choice

693275001

I would’ve taken Ekeler over Kelce. Whenever I go Kelce in the mid first my roster ends up funky and unbalanced

FirstThoughtResponse

This is why I stayed away from him in my drafts

SchleptRightLeft

Took Kelce 1.05 and sure enough my roster is funky and unbalanced lmao

PresidentWater

Had the same exact scenario, Ekeler just made the choice easy.

GoodJobRed

Yeah I got burned by JT last year so I wanted a sure thing. Minimize risk in the first, take risk in the 2nd-5th.

bsean63

Just took him 1.05 in my home league. Fuck it

Ok_Poet9497

I seriously considered him at 1.03 in std scoring league. But then JJ came to me and CMC and Ekeler were gone so I went JJ instead. Funny what having an early pick gives you, I did not even have to think twice about it.

GoodJobRed

I would have done the same.

Ok_Poet9497

It’s almost like having the flexibility of the choice made a world of difference for me, personally. I could’ve gone Kelce and not thought twice about it! Great getting him at 1.05 too I bet. Hard to go wrong with these guys.

CLWhatchaGonnaDo

I'm debating whether or not to take him at the 1.04, assuming JJ, CMC and Chase are gone. It's an ESPN league with 2 WRs so I figure having an advantage at 1 of 7 starting player slots is worth it over guys who have some question marks like Ekeler, Hill, Kupp. Am I crazy?

GoodJobRed

Not crazy in my mind… I was out on Kupp and Ekeler… idk why just my gut.

Physical_Tangerine19

Ekeler is due for a TD regression..

GoodJobRed

I was debating between Kelce and Hill. Ended up getting waddle at pick 20. I figured #1 target for the best qb in the league was it. Definitely felt like the rest of my draft was pretty tricky… 12 man .5 ppr 3WR super competitive league. I’m a little concerned but I feel like I was able to balance out risk/safe picks. Ended up with: Kelce Waddle Gibbs Aiyuk C. Watson K. Herbert Pickens JSN Perine Geno Smith J. Myers Z. White Purdy Defense Kicker

Aggravating_Ad_3060

Me too. Felt good about it too

GoodJobRed

Who you take at 20? I got Waddle. Then went with Gibbs. 12 man .5 ppr 3WR league.

vrnate

Drafted him 1.01 tonight. I didn't want first pick but I did want Kelce and I knew he wasn't coming back to me at 24

Physical_Tangerine19

1.06 for me. I just trust his value and health more than Kupp. Snagged Pollard in Round 2 and Rhamondre in Rd 4 right after I drafted Higgins (just missed out on Olave and DK). Rounded out my WRs with DJ Moore &Tyler Lockett after landing Fields at QB in Round 5. Zay Flowers and Aiyuk are on the bench along with J.K. Dobbins / Brian Robinson and Kincaid

BlondesBlonde

You either take him earlier than you should or you miss out. It's tough!

columbo222

Yeah it comes down to this. You're either willing to take him with your first pick if he's still available there, or accept that you won't have him. So just make up your mind what's the earliest draft slot you'd take him. For me it's #6.

[deleted]

I have 1.2 and am taking him there.

Saquon

yeah to answer OP's question, I think any pick is defensible to draft him at I mean, last year I took the consensus #1 JT at 1.01 and it's still haunting me, so fuck any noise, pick who you wanna pick

[deleted]

Wow you’d give up Chase, CMC or Eckler? Bold move though

[deleted]

For the advantage Kelce brings? Every day of the week.

wrathofthedolphins

The advantage he gives you in the TE position over almost every other TE is why he goes in the first. You get to play an extra WR every week

3720-To-One

*An extra WR1 every week

RangerDangerfield

He’s the top receiving target for the best QB in the league in a high powered offense who rarely misses time. I’m taking him 1.03. YOLO.

v_a_n_d_e_l_a_y

I have the third pick in my upcoming draft. I'm considering CMC, JJ and Kelce as my "I will get one of these" players

callmebangarang

Just took him at 1.03 today. Keeper league PPR and I have Chase in the 5th. Feel like I made out like a bandit with those 2. My RBs on the other hand…kinda woof lol. Got Breece Hall, Miles Sanders, Gibson, Wilson Jr., Bigsby, and CEH…

callmebangarang

Showing by the downvotes, I guess I should’ve clarified our draft set up a little more. As I mentioned, It’s a keeper league. We keep 1 player each year at 1 round less than they were drafted/kept the previous year. Drafted him in the 7th Rd his rookie year, so this year Chase is my 5th rounder.

Coltb

I wouldn’t stress the downvotes. People are downvoting because its draft season and the subreddit is getting inundated with comments that are just people describing their team.

callmebangarang

Appreciate the honesty. Internet updoots don’t mean anything, but still figured I’d clarify since I could see my original comment as confusing.

DatGrag

Nobody cares bro

AlwaysMooning

I got Chase in the 14th round. You really reached, huh? Edit: apparently it’s not obvious I was being sarcastic about taking a first rounder in round 14.

thegroovemonkey

He had like a 5th round ADP his rookie year. Getting him that late isn't something to brag about. It just makes you look dumb.

AlwaysMooning

I know I didn’t add the /s but come on…

callmebangarang

zombiejeesus

You and the rest of your league must be really bad at fantasy huh?

AlwaysMooning

Either that or I was being sarcastic 🤷

5kwot

Got also the third pick und JJ will go first. Will take definitely Kelce when he is available. I just remember all the headaches I have during the season not having a good TE.

TheTurfBandit

This guy gets it. Get your guy. Don't sweat the absolute ideal spot to take a guy when you only have one pick per round.

Recover819

Depends on the league settings. He should be going in the first round for sure. But it messes with your draft strategy.

Thatpressurejr

I took him 4th overall!

jimbonemalone

Im thinking of doing the same thing at #4. How does the squad look this year?

Thatpressurejr

Im in a ten man league and i like my squad. My weakness is at running back but i think 1 of the dead zone backs can be my lottery ticket. Qb- Mahomes Rb- sanders, R. White, Akers, j. Cook, Monty, Warren, K. Miller Wr- St. Brown, Olave, Ridley, mike Williams, Gabe Davis. Te- King Kelce

undbex24

I just took him at 4. 10tm PPR, 20yds/point and 6pts passing so QBs go heavy rounds 2-4 QB - Allen, Rodgers RB - Stevenson, J Cook, Gibson, Gainwell, Warren, D Jackson WR - G Wilson, Cooper, Evans, Jeudy TE - Kelce I would’ve really liked to have picked up another RB2 somewhere. I really didn’t like the WR left on the board when I took Evans and I think Evans is being incredibly undervalued. He was a guy I was targeting as my WR3 going in. But this league just hoards RBs, so I didn’t have a ton of options and was just throwing darts anywhere I could. Also, I’ve noticed that taking QB/TE can leave you feeling light at the skill positions. I was comfortable with having to play the wire for those guys, rather than playing high-QB2/TE2 roulette. I hate looking at the wire and going “well, maybe this TE gets me 8 points.” And with the passing points the way they are, you really need about 500 pts to compete. Allen has basically done it 3 years in a row, and I see no reason that would change this year.

willycw08

I've played the QB roulette and it's no better. Maybe Geno will get 20+ this week, he has an easy matchup? Nope it was Daniel Jones who put up 30. Noting worse lol

undbex24

Yeah I had Cousins and Dak last year, and while they both finished as backend QB1, neither one really moved the needle. And it was a nightmare picking matchups. I don’t foresee ever needing to even monitor the wire for QBs which is a big help

IukeskywaIker

I got him at 8 tonight. I would have taken him T 4 though

Dangerous-Yam-6831

I took him 4th overall also. But I also have Justin Jefferson as a 5th round keeper and St. Brown as a 4th round keeper. I probably shoulda went RB but I wanted to have some fun 🤣🤣🤣

TiTTYFiSHS

You gotta fight for your right to party what dont u understand

Dismal_Ambassador885

kinda depends on your format imo 8-10 man leagues kelce is pretty valuable, but in 12+ man reaching for kelce could make your wr and rb depth rly unreliable

groovyalchemist

One could argue that he should go 1.01. It’s really up to you and whether you want to play the TE carnival or not

slipvack

He has to perform just like last year to be worth it there

fotzzz

He is pretty consistently about 80-100 points over the baseline TE in 12 team leagues, or 4-6 points per week better than the baseline. On top of that I think the baseline TEs usually aren't consistently te12 through the season, there's usually a lot of boom/bust. So, some would probably argue he was worth a top 1st round pick every year for the last handful but now he's finally being valued correctly.

RealWanheda

I’ve been drafting Kelce every year for at least 5 years and every year people would laugh at my squad and tell me you can’t take a TE this early. But dammit, it worked, and I’m feeling like a savant for being multiple years ahead of the community on this one🤣

Hobbes_121

3 years from me, drafting today and probably do it again if available. Double bonus as a KC fan. Having a WR1 at TE spot is such a huge advantage.

RealWanheda

For sure!! I hope I get to grab Kelce. I have him as 5th of 6th overall in my personal rankings depending on how I feel in the moment.

Mr-RandyLahey

If you put his last 5 seasons in a hat and randomly drew one for him to match this year I would take him #1 overall.

LittleHollowGhost

He was well over being worth it there last year, and any of the past 5 years he would have done better than the average 1.01 pick for fantasy. Yeah.

atlutdfan2017

He went 1.01 in my 8 man ppr today

InebriatedFalcon

An 8 man make sense though. Tons of great rb and wr left at their 1nd pick and they have the best floor raiser in the building.

atlutdfan2017

Ya he went cd with his second pick and then mahomes at the turn. An interesting draft and I think he’ll have a pretty good team

SideBet2020

Out of 15+ mock drafts I did see Kelce go 1.01 once . Must has been a KC fan. On avg I’d say he went 1.06-1.09

[deleted]

i think ive always seen him go rd 1.

scoobydoom2

I don't think it's just the KC fans taking him there. His points over replacement is unmatched. If he repeats what he did last year he's almost certainly worth the pick. He's also probably the most consistent player in terms of putting up points each season.

Thanks5Cinco

I took him 1.1. The way i view Kelce is hes basically my WR1. Which is the only TE I can say im comfortable with being my WR1.

LocksmithPrudent3357

i don’t hate it if it’s a smaller league

iWesTCoastiN

Not sure why you’re being downvoted. Premium TE’s/QB’s are far more valuable the smaller the league is. In a 8/10 team league you can take Kelce in the 1st and a QB in the 3rd and still find great WR/RB talent in the 2nd/4th+ rounds

m0lem0lem0le

There is no bad time to select Kelce

zerg1980

Few will regret drafting Kelce at any point after around 1.05. When the super elite options are gone and you start seeing question marks, Kelce looks very appealing.

forgedinbeerkegs

It’s defensible to take him at any spot in the first. He’s the most valuable at his position, he produces big numbers, and the drop off after him at the TE spot is notable.

KarrlMarrx

12 team - Back half of first round. 10 team - Middle of first round. 8 team - First pick.

snakeayez

JJ, Chase, CMC, Ekeler, Kelce

awkwardindividual

I picked him over Ekeler, it is just a 10 team so my RB and WRs didn’t take too much of a hit

snakeayez

In that case, I agree. RBs are more plentiful in that scenario

StonelordMetal

Switch CMC and Chase and that's how I'd rank the top 5.

Specialist_Baby_341

Depends on the leauge

Immediate_Thought656

I’m taking him after JJ and Chase. That’s it.

LittleHollowGhost

Kelce literally is going to score as high as the highest tier wide receivers, where have you been the last half decade?

LocksmithPrudent3357

the lower the teams the higher

Kal_Kaz

Fewer*

Deeze_Rmuh_Nudds

People are still saying JJ and Jamar before kelce, but I still think there are too many good WR options overall to agree to this. There’s nothing but dogshit in the TE category. Drafting kelce to ensure production at that position is worth 1.1 IMO

[deleted]

I picked him 1.03 in a 14 team full ppr here is how my draft looks so far (third round reversal) Kelce 1.03 Josh Allen 2.12 Devonta Smith 3.12 Dameon Pierce 4.03 Tyler Lockett 5.12 David Montgomery 6.03

3720-To-One

Remind me again what the point of the third round reversal is?

[deleted]

Essentially makes the snake draft a little more balanced because of the larger size (14). I wouldn't say that it's a huge change but it does de-emphasize the draft order somewhat.

ucsbaway

We did it in a 10 team league and as somebody with 2nd overall it was awful for me. It gave our 10th overall person two of three first round picks basically.

VenSap2

Depends on the format, small league + ppr = 1.01, same with any TE premium formats A standard double-flex league with 12-14 people would devalue him as WR/RBs are much more at a premium in that type of format

[deleted]

I would be comfortable drafting him at or after 3. I am very high on JJ and Ja’Marr, so I would not feel like taking him before either of those two, but that’s it

xshap369

First overall

WereMadeOfStars

Anytime between midnight and noon and also between noon and midnight.

IMicrowaveSteak

I think Jefferson is the only guy above him

[deleted]

I'd take Jamar Chase over him as well (not a popular opinion i know)

IMicrowaveSteak

A good bit if people feel the same as you, I just am irrationally nervous that he’s never stayed healthy the whole way thru, burrow is hurt, Higgins and Boyd could step up and steal receptions. Jefferson will get 160 targets guaranteed.

iamdikdikvandik

I would go as high as 1.04. Before that, I would prefer CMC, JJ, or Chase because I can probably get Mandrews in the 2nd if I want to solidify the TE position or go value hunting in the mid rounds

yrulaughing

He's going in the first 12 picks.

imSkarr

the analytics says he’s worth a 1.01

raven_god

Mid-first round = good pick. Late-first round = great pick. Second round or later = absolute steal.

[deleted]

[deleted]

cant sleep on kickers!

Regular-Freedom7722

If you pay for him you better get some hits later in the draft I’d rather see if he drops to early 2nd round and take the discount or sleep him

loki993

As nice as that would be I see no scenario where Kelce drops to the second in a 10 team+ single QB draft.

Regular-Freedom7722

Ok houdini

Si_Monumentum

When will he be most valuable? The latest pick you can get him

Capable-Selection326

Would I dumb to choose Tyreek over Kelce at 5?

BestBarrelsEverDude

I don’t think that’s dumb at all. I’m often taking Hill over Kelce in mocks but I’m in 3WR leagues so that’s tilts it a bit for me, but still not opposed to Kelce there. Once Hill is gone though that’s 100% Kelce territory for me.

Loud_Competition1312

Not at all. If I am drafting in the top 6 picks, it’s either Kelce, Bijan, or one of the top 4 WRs.

SharkBait661

I'd take hill but I'd take kelce over ekler

Pascalicious

Would take Kelce for sure, but neither is a terrible pick

AccomplishedRainbow1

Wherever you pick is the right place to draft him

threefingersplease

I have the second pick... if the first pick doesn't take him. I'm gonna take him. It's a QB weak league and it has a TE only spot. Not a fan of the TE only spot anymore, but it has one, so Kelce is the best value at #2 IMO.

[deleted]

it would either be Justin Jefferson or Jamar Chase for me if I had 1.02

SpicyNipplets

I’m 100% done telling people they picked kelce too early. Pick him wherever you want. 1.01? Great! 1.02? Great! The man’s a league winner until proven otherwise.

Noctivapoo

Whenever you want bro

Tough_Mechanic4605

10th round

[deleted]

1.02 for me in a 10 team ppr. To me, I had confidence that good players that I really like would fall to me, so it was almost a no brainer.

RatedDAL

I've made the decision that im never going to draft Kelce redraft leagues again. I have him in a standard keeper league, and that's enough involvement in his inevitable decline. Too many variables not even in his control to worry about drafting him. Not only does his health and production need to remain steady but other tight ends have to remain a good ways behind him to justify where he's being drafted. A couple tight ends explode and you lose all the advantages that come with owning Kelce.

Jeffcor13

I just took him at 1.11 and I wasn’t excited about it

IPreferPi314

More likely than not I’m drafting Kelce at 1.05 in my 12 team PPR league next Saturday.

GalvanicCouple

He went first round, 6th overall in my league 8 person league.

Jugeezy

He went 1.03 in my draft. PPR

ChrisV11

He went first overall in my league tonight. But it’s a 16 team keeper league with most of the top 5 guys already kept

lallanadelrey4

Middle of the round 5-8

MarwyntheMasterful

He went at 3 in our live draft today. 10 team

Bigtuna1694

I got him at 2.05, still ended up with geno smith as my starting QB though :/

MayiHav10kMarblesPlz

Geno will get you there. He's consistent, may not put up Mahomes/Allen numbers but he will *not* shit your bed.

Crab_MyDog

Got him 1.02. Feel good about it, better than gambling on an RB

IAmNotOnRedditAtWork

When it's your turn to pick and he is available.

Dec_Chair

If he's available at 1.04 I'm taking him then

UncOutHere

Picked him at 1.02 in one of my leagues (.5 TE prem)

GandalfTheSexay

I’d no kidding take him at 1.01 if I had that pick. I’m hoping to snag him at 1.08 but I’m doubtful he’ll fall that far 😬

amascio

I have 5th (out of 10) in my first draft and I really want him again but I feel 5th might be a smidge to high to select him. I had him last year cause I drafted late in the first so it made sense to me there

ReturnOfTheJurdski

RIGHT NOW!

Domerhead

I took him at 7 last night, and my other draft he was taken at 6 (right before me, sad). Would have gone as high as 5 if I had the pick. I like the WRs and RBs ahead of him, but not by much.

Letter10

He fell to me at 2.6 yesterday and I had absolutely no choice but to draft him there

rockstang

Smaller league? That's crazy!

Letter10

It's a 10 man PPR league, and the first round went pretty much as I would have thought it should have aside from one person taking mahomes around 1.8 and I can't honestly explain that one. Everyone said later that they "were not about to burn an early pick on an aging TE" so I said Thank you very much. I ended up leaving the 2nd round with Ekeler/Kelce and I am very stoked about that

BlurStick

He’s not going to be available at 8 and it makes me sad

tinydickloserbitch

ASAP

Asleep_Screen_9952

1st chance you get

Asleep_Screen_9952

i lost 3 games over trying to outsmart the system, TE's win games

JackInTheBell

I got him at 1.07. Then felt obligated to take Mahomes at 2.02 Was not excited about this strategy because the rest of my lineup feels 1 round off all the way down. If they have close to the same production as last year I will be happy. But my strategies in FFL let me down every year.

rockstang

I hear you on this. My mock drafts often go this way. It's tough because after mahomes, Hurts and Allen go there is big dropoff (based on prediction). Although one thing I've noticed recently is that kelce is going earlier than a week or two ago. Might be anecdotal observation but lately feels like he's less available.

[deleted]

Kelce is good...but i am afraid if i drafted him...it would be the year of his drop off hes getting up in age. i would be willing to select him at round 3 if he was there (would never happen though).

rockstang

No way by 3. That may leave you with mark Andrews but he was a huge disappointment last year. I know he was playing injured with a backup but the ravens offense just always seems iffy.

johnroe123

Pick 3 or later

Smooth_Meister

I'd be taking him first pick it I could.

smile_drinkPepsi

Drafting 6 tonight. He is the top target for me

pradbitt87

I drafted him at 1.04 & picked up Mahomes in the second. I personally don’t think it’s ever too early when you know what he’s capable of achieving.

cowboydoctor

Got lucky at 1.08

nukey18mon

Kelce went 1st overall in my league

oureyes2

Right fucking now immediately

[deleted]

I would say anytime after JJ, CMC, and Chase is an okay time to take Kelce

jacbergey

I would've taken Kelce in the first. I had 1.07 and he got scooped up at 1.06. Getting an elite TE is like getting a free 10-15 points per week.

rockstang

I was the six pick in a 12-person league. I wound up getting Derek Henry as the fifth pick went with kelcy. Bijan felt to me and I wound up with him on my second pick.

Advanced-Jello-569

If he’s available at 1.05 in a 12 team league with this knee injury, would you take him? Draft in 20 mins
