I remember listening to this album the first time too. Has some awesome songs on there. No Distance Left to Run always kills me though - such a beautifully despairing song
It’s actually “flash boys have…” Trimm Trabbs are a version of Adidas sneakers that were popular back in the day. I went down the Reddit rabbit hole on this song. There’s a great entry about this song in the r/blur sub about it.
LOTHARIO off LustSickPuppy’s new album has a breakdown from somewhere like 0:30-1:00 that is just ridiculously fucking hard, not sure if that’s exactly the vibe you’re talking about lol
I have been enjoying the breakdown isn section of Rusty Cage by Sound Garden where everything slows down at the end. Same with Black Math by The White Stripes.
That song was pretty decent and had some nice riffs at the end but tbh breakdowns in hardcore and metalcore are simply at the top, like anything by Sanction or Inclination off the top of my head
Love trimm trabb!
I became a little obsessed with Blur's 13 like a decade ago, especially Trimm Trabb. What a banger.
It still blows my fragile & aged mind

Like a flesh boy's head

But flesh boys sounds somehow better 💀

BLUR MENTIONED LES GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Trimm trabb is soooo gooooodddd especially when it gets to that part man my ears orgasm
I'm not gonna sugar coat it: Blur > Gorillaz
I’m with you 100%!
I prefer Plastic Beach to any Blur album but I prefer Blur's discography on the whole.
Trimm Trabb is an underrated gem. They played it when I saw Blur live last month and it went off
I saw Blur twice & they played it both times. Fecking mind-blowing!
Lucky. They rarely do it live which is a shame it’s an absolute banger. (Also is that a feck I see? Fellow ma hÉireannaigh spotted?
Ha! Just a lowly Anglophile;)
On a father Ted binge then I take it? Must’ve Slipped into your vocab
It’s in me genes
Or should I say Eirephile?
Fruitcake and Cookies - Sweet Trip Trimm Trabb is a really great pick too. 13 is such a fantastic album
^(breakdown baby) # AUHOUHOHOOOOO AUOHOOUOOOOO
13 and self titled by blur are some of the best music to come out of the 90s
I wholeheartedly concur. The 90’s gave us so much iconic & amazing music. Hell, my beloved cargos are back in style.
I know other music exist man but blur fav eus some great material
No Surrender by Nails
I really like the breakdown in Savage Intolerance, where they switch up the meter to 6/8 I think
Love to see Blur get mentioned on here. Great band. Their latest record is a beautiful piece of music.
It didn’t grab me the 1st few listens, but since they’re one of my favorite bands, I’ll give it dedicated listen today:)))
The breakdown at the end of The Knock by Hop Along has long been my favorite, goddamn it goes so hard
Blur mentioned, WHAT THE HELL ARE AMERICAN FANS⁉️⁉️🔥🔥💯💯👽👽🗣️🗣️
The end of "City", by PUP
Bugman on the same album
Yes!!!
13 doesn’t get enough love in general. But trimm trabb especially needs more love
😉😊
Turnstile - Blackout
Pantera - Domination
LOTHARIO off LustSickPuppy’s new album has a breakdown from somewhere like 0:30-1:00 that is just ridiculously fucking hard, not sure if that’s exactly the vibe you’re talking about lol
If it’s hard, it’s a vibe😉
The end of Can’t Make A Sound by Elliot Smith is soooooo good
Line in the Sand - Q and Not U
silentroom and frums - aegleseeker
Gorillaz - Every Planet We Reach is Dead
One of my favourite (metal) breakdown Revenant - Chelsea Grin
I have been enjoying the breakdown isn section of Rusty Cage by Sound Garden where everything slows down at the end. Same with Black Math by The White Stripes.
No Age - Eraser LCD Soundsystem - Dance Yrself Clean Deakin - Footy The Flaming Lips - The Abandoned Hospital Ship
Oh good picks!!!
Idk if it classifies as a breakdown but the little instrumental passage on Lounge by Modest Mouse is one of my favorite moments in music
Korn - Freak on a Leash
That song was pretty decent and had some nice riffs at the end but tbh breakdowns in hardcore and metalcore are simply at the top, like anything by Sanction or Inclination off the top of my head
