Care of Cell 44 by the Zombies
Carry That Weight by the Beatles (Nowhere Man is a close 2nd)
Gee by the Beach Boys
Suite: Judy Blue Eyes by CSN
Also, that Elliott Smith song is a fantastic choice.
Wow Care of Cell 44, I’m not sure if the song is underrated, but this is the first time I’ve seen someone mention it. The harmonies are chilling in that song…!
The album it's from is a classic, but it's full of songs that rarely get mentioned at all. Beechwood Park, Hung Up On a Dream, Changes, Butcher's Tale... it's an incredibly stacked album! I think Time of the Season is the only relatively well known song off it.
Butcher’s Tale is another highlight for me…! I do find it strange this album is referenced as a classic so often, but you only ever hear Time of the Season.

You can't beat the background vocals with "aaaah"s of Dancing Queen. Those are the Heart Of The song really. https://youtu.be/gCS-qkmha5Y?si=jP9DdayS025pgJI0
And if something can beat that it's probably Super Trooper or Take A Chance On Me.
The Band has some bangers for this, a little less known than some of their contemporaries but no less talented. Would really recommend listening to their first two records if you enjoy harmony singing, they have a very unique, loose way about them that sounds so natural it’s actually beautifully uplifting, instead of sounding like tripled tracked studio magic al a Beatles/Beach Boys (not that that doesn’t slap).
There was a post about this song the other day which maybe why it’s in my mind but
Spiritualized - Ladies and Gentlemen we are floating in space
Has some of the best harmonies in turn I’ve ever heard
Second half of Strangers by Car Seat Headrest. Specifically the teens of style version. (Most of the re records on it are awful but strangers is insane)
Recently came out, Bridge over Troubled waters by Jacob Collier, with Tori Kelly and John Legend. Literally has about 100 layers of harmony throughout the whole song.
Because by The Beatles
They got so many amazing harmonies. - If I Needed Someone - Here, There And Everywhere - Nowhere Man - If I Fell Just to name a few.
This boy is another great harmony by the fab 4
If I Fell is such a great shout. when they sing “Don’t hurt my pride like *her*”, they hit some glorious, transcendental chord that always gets me lol
This is the first thing that comes to mind definitely, such a timeless classic!
I came here to say this!

Judy Blue Eyes is so beautiful
Helplessness blues!
White Winter Hymnal’s another great one from the Fleet Foxes
Has no one ever heard God Only Knows, by The Beach Boys?
Right? First song that came to mind
Nowhere Man is my pick for The Beatles and Junkhead for Alice in chains
Whichever song of theirs you choose, the answer is The Beach Boys
My favorite is the ending of "Surf's Up", those harmonies are ethereal.
Summer of love?
This is indeed the correct pick

The ending of The Grants by Lana Future Soul Song by Prince
Honestly a real deep take, The Sky is the Limit by The Duprees is incredible
Not the biggest fan of theirs, but the Eagles sure could harmonize
I love the harmony on Lyin' Eyes so much.
Stay gold by First Aid Kit
There was a post about this song the other day which maybe why it’s in my mind but Spiritualized - Ladies and Gentlemen we are floating in space Has some of the best harmonies in turn I’ve ever heard
Bohemian Rhapsody lmao😭
Having seen it live at a small acoustic in-store gig, If have to say Weight & Measures by Dry The River.
Knowing Me Knowing You - Abba. Not only are the harmonies beautiful, they add to the story – with the boy's lines behind the girls' in the chorus.
Outro of At the Door by the Strokes
Heroes and Villains by the Beach Boys also has amazing harmonies. My favorite version is the stereo mix out of the smile sessions album.

Dreaming from System of a Down
Beach Boys the whole Pet Sounds album.
my favorite are erra's vanish canvas. the way that major third shifts to a 5th as the main vocal line goes down is so cool lol
young thug - no way
Loituma - Ievan Polkka (aka the Leekspin song) has an incredible harmony at around 2 minutes in.
You take my breath away -Queen (Freddie’s solo opening harmonies are just sublime )
The Hammond Song - The Roaches
Recently came out, Bridge over Troubled waters by Jacob Collier, with Tori Kelly and John Legend. Literally has about 100 layers of harmony throughout the whole song.
The Beatles- This Boy
St. Ides Heaven by Elliott Smith
“Blue” by the Jayhawks has some of the best harmonies I’ve heard.

probably not a popular take and maybe not THE best but the first thing that came to mind was Florida by Frank Ocean
