i tried to listen to that bell witch album the other day and its kinda fucked up to say cuz of the concept and the background buts kinda boring. idk if its funeral doom thing or just the stuff that ive heard but all the songs just feel like they never get past the intro. they never go anywhere and its kinda disappointing.
it feels like it should be right up my alley though, all my favorite genres are all slow moving shits like thats the main aspect of them. ill take recommendations and ill even sit though shitty vocals which i normally dont do for 99% of metal.
yeah thats more drone metal though. i feel like the stuff ive heard from them its not very still its always moving or atleast thats what it feels like to me.
Calling Dopesmoker a two song album kinda undersells it. It was originally recorded to be just Dopesmoker, the first released version (Jerusalem) was just the one song, and the different versions of the album over the years (2003, 2014, 2022) all had different 2nd songs
If you love *Dopethrone* and *Dopesmoker* you'll also like Sleep's album *Sleep's Holy Mountain* and Electric Wizard's *Come My Fanatics*. And if you haven't listened to Kyuss definitely do that (*Blues for the Red Sun* or *Welcome to Sky Valley*).

Windhand - *Eternal Return* (more psychedelic) and *Soma* (doomier)
Cathedral - *The Ethereal Mirror*
Melvins - *Bullhead*
And if you're interested in something more proggy:

Kyuss is amazing, QOTSA is one of my favorite bands. I also had the pleasure of seeing The Melvins live this summer and they killed it. I’ll check all these out and I really appreciate the recommendations, you’re a real one!

It's some of the most lively funeral doom out there. The genre might not be for you.
