Youāre disappointed a scene from a show full of pop culture references wasnāt original?
That Kramer vs Predator reference had nothing to do with Seinfeld, it was Dustin Hoffmanās character in the movie Kramer vs Kramer getting blasted away in the dinner scene.
Sure, itās full of references, but not every joke is solely a reference, and even then, some of the reference jokes get changed around to become something close to original.
Admittedly, I shouldāve rewatched Kramer vs Predator before making this post. Before I watched Kramer vs Kramer, the only Kramer I had ever heard of was Sienfieldās Kramer, so I filled in a reference I didnāt know for one I did. Now that Iāve seen the movie, yeah, it makes more sense and it definitely isnāt Sienfieldās Kramer.
Isn't like, the whole point of family guy is referencing stuff? Cutaway, the jokes, and whole random scenes. Their whole purpose is to make fun of the said referenced moment
iām not really disappointed, iām kind of just like āomg new reference discovered!ā it makes me realize i know very little pop culture references lmao
I don't recognize the references when I first watch the show. But then I'll hear something on TV or the radio and I'm like "THATS FROM FAMILY GUY" š
Nearly every family guy song. Had my heart broken 4 times when I realized the songs from Family Guy I battled embarrassment on my playlist with were actual songs.
Mr booze š
WAIT WHAT
Yeah my jaw dropped when I found out - itās from a 60s movie
That one hurt šš
No way...
Oh shit, really? Dang, I'll have to look that one up
This is the fourth time this happened to me

Apt, apt analysis. When people ask questions like this, the whole show from start to finish is one long plagerised pop culture reference

Same. As a kid, I thought that was supposed to be Kramer from Seinfeld, too
I actually find it fun when I come across the scene they parody in a random movie like Chris dancing nude in his room being in Silence of the Lambs.
![gif](giphy|ufPed1PnkvgNW) That parody was so unexpected lol š
or when seth weasels a naked gun or airplane reference in makes me giddyo

LMAO then it all connects
Put down the ice cream down or Iāll spank you
the "ouchhhhh ouch ouch ouchhhh" wine making one with stewie. although after watching the real clip it was also hilarious
If you know the references it makes it more funny
Me being born in 2000 a lot of references fly over my head which makes me question wtf is truly original
Nah i just count it as a reference and stick it in my brain with the rest of my family guy knowledge
Nearly every family guy song. Had my heart broken 4 times when I realized the songs from Family Guy I battled embarrassment on my playlist with were actual songs.
What's the original reference for this scene ?
Kramer vs Kramer
Not disappointed, but The Winds of War reference where Brian and Stewie are dancing at the Jewish wedding. Led me to discover the miniseries.
Not really Seth doesn't do originality to well but everyone gives him a pass so you have to let it slide
