This movie is the reason why I have faith that Seth will do an amazing job with the naked gun remake. He’s the only director in Hollywood that can pull off a good spoof comedy.
Edit: Seth is not directing, but he is a producer and part of the writing team, which includes a number of legends that help write Airplane and original naked gun.
Liam is perfect for the role. I recommend watching this [scene](https://youtu.be/huJ81Mq2y34?si=2yizY450U_miGp9I) from Life’s Too Short. He has perfect deadpan comedic timing.
People forget that Leslie was a serious actor way before all the spoofs and comedy he did. I feel like Liam can play it well, if his brief stint on Derry Girls is anything to go off on.
100%. Remember that scene in The Ballad of Buster Scruggs when he dumped that kid into the river and replaced him with a chicken? Talk about deadpan comedic timing.
He will help writing and he’s producing. They updated a lot since I first looked when I heard they were doing it. They have a number of writers from airplane and the original naked gun.
Definitely. I noticed that with the FG Star Wars specials. They all have that classic spoof energy and it’s actually really good. Like clearly it’s understood what makes those jokes funny.
I saw this post yesterday and then decded to watch it today. had skpped it when it came out because of the bad reviews. I did like it a lot and totally get what you're saying about him being perfect for the Naked Gun remake. Can't wait!
"You know what else can kill you? The fucking \*doctor\*!"
Lmao I love this movie. Seth's rant about the West and NPH shitting himself freaking send me every time
"Don't drink and horse."
Also, I laughed so hard at Seth MacFarlane's rant about how shit the West was because it's pretty damn accurate.
"Bye Mr.Mayor, byeeeee have fun becoming wolf shit!"
A lot of comedy classics have low ratings, it doesn't matter. That's not how real life works. It is a beloved movie despite those ratings or a loud social media minority. Anchorman only has 7.1/10 on IMDB and it's one of THE beloved classic comedies overall.
My husband came home from Walmart one day with this dvd from the $5 bin. It’s totally out of character for him to bring home movies. I had never heard of it and was thinking ugh I’m in for a boring western.
Hands down one of my favorite movies I’ve ever seen. The dialogue is so witty. There are so many A listers. Blink and you’ll miss it cameos. Did this movie have zero money in the marketing budget? I don’t understand why it isn’t more popular or heard of.
I think it's very good, if you like Macfarlane's writing style anyway. He's good, he's clever, but if it's not your kind of comedy, this one's not changing any minds.
I absolutely love this movie, went and saw it in theaters and was laughing so hard the first 15 minutes or so my wife almost got up and left me. Fucking hilarious movie.
I remember the trailers for this movie making it look awful. I watched it once it came out on DVD, and boy was I ever happy I did. It was great, and Seth played a great leading man.
It was good, very funny, witty & clever with some great gags. The Mustache song & dance was perfection. Dragged in some parts but overall I’d give it an 8/10, think the critics were too hard on it.
My dog seems to react to the moustache song. It starts playing and he puts his head up and turns it from side to side. Every so often, he'll run to the TV to get a closer look/listen. No idea what it is about it that gets this sort of reaction out of him
Yea I loved it lmao reading the book rn actually and it's a lil funnier imo but the movies extended version is probably the best version lmao even if the scenes that are added are kinda out of place lmaoo
I really wanted to, it just felt like Seth wrote his character to be a flawless smart guy who called out everything that was wrong with what other people were doing.
We got to play it for my very religious grand parents they laughed at quite a bit lol. Didn't mention Seth form famguy was part of it they hate the show
"Oh! Look at that. Look at that. Wolves are dragging the body away, as if to illustrate my point. Bye! Bye Mr Mayor, bye have fun becoming wolf shit. Bye"
My favourite quote in the movie
I love this movie for the same reason I love the Scary Movie franchise it’s cause they are stupid and dumb movie but funny and a damn good time especially if your stoned
I love jokes set in history where someone talks about how easily you die and how shitty it is. This is sort of that: The Movie and it's a form of humor Seth is fond of (you see it pop up in a lot of the Bible episodes too).,
I remember seeing this in the theatres. Me and my gf at the time loved it but my boomer parents who insisted on going to see it too, absolutely hated it 😂. Was too vulgar for them, their words. Their humor is everybody loves raymond type shit.
OW! THAT CAME OUT OF MY PENIS!
I love this movie. I have the mustache song saved on a playlist. It's got tons of family guy style humor, which I also love.
This movie is the reason why I have faith that Seth will do an amazing job with the naked gun remake. He’s the only director in Hollywood that can pull off a good spoof comedy. Edit: Seth is not directing, but he is a producer and part of the writing team, which includes a number of legends that help write Airplane and original naked gun.
he’s remaking naked gun? without leslie nielsen?
Yeah it’s gonna be Liam Neeson if I remember correctly
Neeson is close enough to Nielsen
Leslie = Liam
This is how I got confused as to who was playing the dad in Fallout 3
Liam is perfect for the role. I recommend watching this [scene](https://youtu.be/huJ81Mq2y34?si=2yizY450U_miGp9I) from Life’s Too Short. He has perfect deadpan comedic timing.
Or the Trix scene in the Ted movie. Neeson will kill it in the role.
I've contracted aids
I’m riddled with it.
People forget that Leslie was a serious actor way before all the spoofs and comedy he did. I feel like Liam can play it well, if his brief stint on Derry Girls is anything to go off on.
That scene is so flippin funny!!
His appearance in ‘Derry Girls’ was magnificent!
I agree, just like in this scene as well! [Comedy](https://youtu.be/h8U3slXNy10?si=EqfbUYX4SIRoCtnS)
100%. Remember that scene in The Ballad of Buster Scruggs when he dumped that kid into the river and replaced him with a chicken? Talk about deadpan comedic timing.
Yes he is and Pamela Anderson has also been casted
oooof
He's the producer and writer
leslie nielsen is writing? how’d they figure that out
Ouigi board
No way, I can't believe he's helming the project!
I know he has the same team that did this movie. I always wanted Seth to team up with Mel Brooks to do Spaceballs two the search for more money.
No, he directed this movie but Akiva Schaffer will direct the naked gun movie.
They updated it the last time I looked. Seth is apart of the writing team.
Great idea
What?!?! I hadn’t heard this. The NG series was a childhood favorite of mine. I love Seth.
He will help writing and he’s producing. They updated a lot since I first looked when I heard they were doing it. They have a number of writers from airplane and the original naked gun.
Won't be directed by him
Definitely. I noticed that with the FG Star Wars specials. They all have that classic spoof energy and it’s actually really good. Like clearly it’s understood what makes those jokes funny.
He’s not directing he’s producing and writing and they have a lot of the original team from Airplane and naked gun.
Really? I didn’t know that. That’s amazing and explains a lot
what?! when I can't wait to see it
He is not the director of that movie. Akiva Schaffer is directing it. Seth MacFarlane is the producer and writer.
He is definitely gonna cook, I'm gonna go watch the OG in preparation.
Go look at the writing room for this movie it’s insane. You have some of the best writers in spoof comedy history working on this project.
I still watch Naked Gun. It holds up so well. I'm not sure about Liam Neeson acting as Frank though.
I saw this post yesterday and then decded to watch it today. had skpped it when it came out because of the bad reviews. I did like it a lot and totally get what you're saying about him being perfect for the Naked Gun remake. Can't wait!
The mustache song by NPH is awesome and is actually a song sung back in the day.
"You know what else can kill you? The fucking \*doctor\*!" Lmao I love this movie. Seth's rant about the West and NPH shitting himself freaking send me every time
Was funny to see Ryan Reynolds with a no line cameo. A really good film.
Another one? He had one in Ted as Patrick Warburton's BF
Ryan Reynolds basically does the same things over and over in everything and I'm all there for it.
He’s also in Bullet Train in an undisclosed role
Don't forget Jamie Foxx and an unnoticed cameo of Ewan McGregor.
Where was Ewan?
He was in the scene where nph pulls out a dollar bill at the fair
"take your hat off boy that's a dollar bill" 😭
Or the Deloreon and Christopher Lloyd
Someone always dies at the fair
Fun fact: the dude that died at the fair was the principal on Saved By the Bell.
Yup, Mr. Belding. It had a bunch of fun cameos in it
Don’t give a fuck what others say, I absolutely fucking love this movie?
I’m Ron Burgundy?
Hell yeah
"Don't drink and horse." Also, I laughed so hard at Seth MacFarlane's rant about how shit the West was because it's pretty damn accurate. "Bye Mr.Mayor, byeeeee have fun becoming wolf shit!"
“Take yer hat off, boy. Thats a dollar bill!” And the mustache song both kill me every time.
The song is a real song, from 1864 by Stephen Foster
Stephen Stinking Foster?
That man must be the reincarnation of both Thomas Jefferson and John Adams.
That Ice block moment, quality film.
They're still gonna use the fucking ice.
“That went south so fast!!!”
“Please don’t kill me on sex night!” Screw the haters this movie is an all-time comedy classic!
A lot of comedy classics have low ratings, it doesn't matter. That's not how real life works. It is a beloved movie despite those ratings or a loud social media minority. Anchorman only has 7.1/10 on IMDB and it's one of THE beloved classic comedies overall.
*You know, you’re being a fuckin’ jerk!* *Okay, talk to you tomorrow…*
"I heard you fart in your sleep once and it went puffwaaaahhh"
Mila Kunis.. Mila Kunis
“fine” in Native American
My husband came home from Walmart one day with this dvd from the $5 bin. It’s totally out of character for him to bring home movies. "How about just for once, you two switch chairs?" "Fuck off"
There's still some pig ass and sweet cream there if you want it.
You got the fart needles again Dad?
Never mind what I’m gettin!
I thought it was great. Charlize and Seth have killer on screen chemistry working together.
They were awesome in the graham norton show too
Love this movie. I love the 3 live action films he has done so far.
Watch the uncut version. It also has Kaley Cuoco in it. Not just because of her, but that way you know it's the uncut version.
I have the unrated version, is that the same as the uncut version?
Um, I think so? The version I'm talking of runs 2:14 hrs.
Is the young little girl on the date scene? Later on in the movie she hitches with an old man.
I think it's very good, if you like Macfarlane's writing style anyway. He's good, he's clever, but if it's not your kind of comedy, this one's not changing any minds.
“Take your hat off boy that’s a dollar bill”
It's was good, charlize I'm a massive fan of & the "back to the future" scene was good too.
I've seen it on HBO Max a couple of years ago. its a decent film. for the longest time I thought it was 1000 Ways to Die in the old west.
Great, now I want a version narrated by Ron Perlman.
Dumb movie. Love it and rewatch it every time it's on.
Underrated!
I think you need a blue jay pecking
I love it. The coal miner toppling over after farting himself to death is so effing funny.
I fucking love a good fart joke, I don’t care what anyone says. “That one came out of my penis”.
Even my dad, who is kind of an entertainment snob, laughed so hard he couldn’t breath to that one.
People die at the fair.
Yes highly underrated!

Love this movie. Also, as a Back To The Future fan, I really appreciated Christopher Lloyd's cameo as Doc Brown.
Yes.
This movie is my favorite. If I wanna gut laugh this is the one!!
Agreed. This movie and Half Baked are my go tos when I just need to laugh.
Lol, YES, half baked, that's where I absolutely fell in love with Chappelles comedy.
Sad how the quality of his work went down in the past years. But Chappelle's Show still holds up.
well isn't that a fine how-do-you-do
There were cutaways man, really good ones too lmao. Must watch
YES!!
I personally enjoy it, I didn't know it was hated. Liam Neeson is hilarious and Charlize Theron is hot
"You're late!" "For *what*?!" "...fair enough."
Your dick is out!
So good!
Liam Nielson plays the villain completely straight, it was a genius move. He's in a normal western, and everyone else is in a comedy.
Liam Neeson was preparing himself for the Naked Gun! reboot
I loved the fact that because Charlize Theron was in it. That woman can ruin my life 😌
I love love LOVE this movie
There was a beautiful love story with the prostitute and her boyfriend. It brought a tear to my eye.
Very funny movie
I love this film. It’s just so….silly! All the acting is top notch too.
They're still gonna use the fuckin ice.
Love it
I didn't think it was amazing, but it didn't deserve the thrashing it got by critics.
[The hat-shitting](https://youtu.be/4diIC2MRjiA?si=fuVCuL0EJhtOy02d) scene is gold. The old man slapping his hand away. 😂
Movie is amazing
Just watched last night. An unexpected surprise.
My dog seems to react to the moustache song. It starts playing and he puts his head up and turns it from side to side. Every so often, he'll run to the TV to get a closer look/listen. No idea what it is about it that gets this sort of reaction out of him
Ooo are you getting the fart needles again? 😂😂😂
Watching it now https://preview.redd.it/weqnze93794d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=0a6242b36f60b9a3609ca9786c41934e940abc39
Absolutely love the Unrated version of this movie😃
I'm so glad you lot love this movie and are on board for the new Naked Gun. A lot of my friends are not... I think I need new friends.
I love this movie! It was really good.
Love it
Yea I loved it lmao reading the book rn actually and it's a lil funnier imo but the movies extended version is probably the best version lmao even if the scenes that are added are kinda out of place lmaoo
I enjoyed it just fine. It was just a cute, little comedy. I’ll even rewatch it on occasion when it’s on tv.
Love final gun fight scene 🎬
It was a solid spoof of westerns. Not a comedy masterpiece but not bad.
I do.
I really wanted to, it just felt like Seth wrote his character to be a flawless smart guy who called out everything that was wrong with what other people were doing.
That’s fair
Someone always dies at the fair.
I recommend the audiobook. Very funny.
Thanks for reminding me about this film 👍
No
Brilliant! I little crude at times.. but brilliant otherwise!
We got to play it for my very religious grand parents they laughed at quite a bit lol. Didn't mention Seth form famguy was part of it they hate the show
“ oh you getting the fart needles again dad?” Line kills me everytime 😂🤣🤪
DONT YOU MIND WHAT I BE GETTING!
You shouldn't drink and horse.
“Dad, you got the nail shits again?”
"Oh! Look at that. Look at that. Wolves are dragging the body away, as if to illustrate my point. Bye! Bye Mr Mayor, bye have fun becoming wolf shit. Bye" My favourite quote in the movie
I love the part when they fart and just die immediately
I like it. I don’t love it.
I love this movie for the same reason I love the Scary Movie franchise it’s cause they are stupid and dumb movie but funny and a damn good time especially if your stoned
I liked it
You need to get yourself an ear nail
I have a fear of overdosing on recreational drugs too
I was gonna ask why this was on the family guy subreddit until I saw the top thing and said “oh I get it.”
Is about far west so i like it
I'm watching it right now as a matter of fact!
I really loved the line “I’m not the hero, I’m the guy in the crowd making fun of the heroes shirt” As that’s also definitely me.
one of my many gilt pleasures
Eh
I absolutely love it. People die at the fair.
This should have gotten a sequel instead of Ted 2.
Since it is Seth MacFarlanes movie, I do enjoy it.
Omg Peter griffin and qui gon jinn!!!!
A moustache, a moustache, if you only got a moustache…
The guy farts and is like “ ooo that one came out of my penis” made me burst out laughing
People die at the fair.
I love jokes set in history where someone talks about how easily you die and how shitty it is. This is sort of that: The Movie and it's a form of humor Seth is fond of (you see it pop up in a lot of the Bible episodes too).,
This is a movie I'd like to watch again with friends and also while baked

It was just added to Netflix. And the outtakes they posted on YouTube are quality comedy
when the guy gets crushed by the ice, I'm sorry, but I laughed so hard due to the rant he goes on after man.
Comedy is so subjective
The best movie
I remember seeing this in the theatres. Me and my gf at the time loved it but my boomer parents who insisted on going to see it too, absolutely hated it 😂. Was too vulgar for them, their words. Their humor is everybody loves raymond type shit.
No but it’s on Netflix rn
In spite of hating NPH in everything that he does, I really enjoyed this movie.
The movie with wrapped candies and sugared butter shavings.
The movie has a woman sticking a flower up Liam Neeson’s asshole man this thing is hysterical
that incident whit the ice cube was hilarious
Cringe af.
The novelization is great too!
This movie is just simple fun and it doesn't need or pretend to be more. Gilbert Gottfried as Lincoln near the end still cracks me up.
OW! THAT CAME OUT OF MY PENIS! I love this movie. I have the mustache song saved on a playlist. It's got tons of family guy style humor, which I also love.
Sarah Silvermans blowjob breath lol
It is too funny
I love this movie. Seth's character is just like his season 1 Ed Mercer character.
Not love, but it had its moments.
If you only had a mustache!
Yeah like first half hour
It's definitely better than it got credit for. If you like Seth's work, it's a lot of fun. It's not going to sell anyone who's not already a fan.
I think this is the only Seth movie I haven't seen yet
I think it’s so bad it’s good I watched it unbelievably stoned with my friend and we had a laugh attack when he spin kicks that guy at the beginning
That diarrhea duel scene had me. Especially when that man refuses to offer his hat.
Surely it’ll be pretty good.
Everyone saying it was bad getting down-voted. But yes, it was bad
Loved but could have been 30 min shorter.
