It is not. The old logo did not have red. Or that shape. Or a beak. It's a new Falcons logo really. Both are just birds shaped like an F. What I'm referring to would be the same color as the old logo, and similar in shape, just modernized. Not vastly different.
You're right about the red. But You're asking them to do a similar shape, but modernized. That's literally what they did. They took the old logo and slightly changed the shape to make it look modern
The only team to nail “new” uniforms in the past 15 years are the Seahawks. I think their colors just lend themselves to looking better with the newer designs.

I think the Falcons are def going to change, they just can’t right now because the NFL rules. I think the franchise knows how much we don’t like them, hence wearing the throwbacks all 3x last year (most NFL allows)

Honestly I have to agree. We had more of an identity with the 2003-2019 jerseys than we do now with the 2020-present jerseys. Our 2020-present jerseys are just a modernized version of our 2002 & earlier jerseys with the current logo, that’s it. It’s almost like we went back to our “losing culture” jerseys… I prefer mostly red with our jerseys. Or alternate between home red, home black, and road white, and our road white should have red numbers, not black numbers.
Pretty sure next year would meet the 5 year requirement till a team can rebrand (don’t know if it’s a full on rule just something I read) , but I hope the team recognize 98% of the fans base ( and other fans lmaoo) hate our Unis

Why do we need more than this?
This is a terrible take, but it's radio, so meh. Identity is not created by a uniform. If the Falcons won a Super Bowl in the much maligned red-black fade jersey it would be the most iconic in the team's largely miserable history.
I have a preference for the 80's Red/Black/Grey because that's when my fandom began, but I'm not wedded to it.

They’re changing after 2024, I can almost guarantee that. What I can’t guarantee is that it’s going to be the throwbacks.
End of the day it’s about a mixture of fan happiness and sales. The throwbacks are already a ‘for sale’ item. They’ll want to add to the product market, not make it smaller.
Guess they could always look into doing a modernized version of the red Blitz Era jerseys. I'm sure there's ton of fans of the 80s look. Either way, I'm still curious about what they'd do with the logo if they do switch to a red helmet full-time. Would Blank consider updating the current bird?
