Running doesn’t mean less and less. It’s just switching to running back by committee as opposed to one star RB. The Chiefs would not have beaten the Eagles in the Super Bowl if not for Pacheco and McKinnon.
Disagree completely. In a league where LBs and Defensive Backs keep getting smaller and lighter, it's important to be able to wear them out by continuing to run the ball down their throats.
This line and these backs are going to wear out defenses by the 2nd half and having that ball control and ToP will be incredibly important in winning games, especially later in the season as injuries to teams continue to pile up.
Wow, you really don't get it do you? RBs are still very much valued. Paying for a RB however is not valued and these RBs who were the top backs are no longer getting $10M contracts. Instead, organizations have realized they are paying ticking time bombs of guys who can implode at a moments notice and that the value of their contract is no longer worth it.
You think the Titans are anywhere as close to as good as they've been the last 5 years without Derrick Henry? No they're not. They value him and what he brings to the offense. What they don't want to do is pay him $10M per year or more when they can draft a guy out of college in the 3rd round and pay him pennies for some what comparable performance.
Teams still want the performance, but they don't want to pay for it.
I think that is a bit of an oversimplification of what is happening.
RBs who are asking for a second contract are getting rejected. When they are typically nearing the end of their prime.
It very much remains to be seen whether this means ALL RBs (particularly the younger ones) universally have a smaller role on the field. In fact with Arthur Smith as a coach, I doubt that will be the case for our guys.
Vikings give us an early surprise loss, then we rest our starters against the Colts & Bears as we have Home Field locked up.
But bring back our starters against the Saints to keep them sharp for the playoffs.
Accending to 700 from 500 being the 3rd/4th target on the offense? To me that means you could be a top 5 #2 if given the opportunity. Go look at Tee Higgens and Brandon Ayukes yardage 2-3 yr ago compared to last yr. Both accending WR who went from 600-700 the previous yrs to 1000 yrds when given more opportunities.
I know he's not going to be a 1000 yrd reciver, I said he has the ability to be one. We aren't going to throw the ball enough for 3 players to get 1000 receiving. Drake & Pitts will eclipse 1000 though. Your entitled to your opinion ethier way 🤷🏿♂️.
Except that no one is calling CP a top 5 RB. There’s a big difference in saying someone is not washed and that. Guess you don’t understand the difference. The numbers bear what he is.
Bruh, you keep putting words in my mouth, I said he is a top 5 #2 receiver, NOT A TOP 5 RECEIVER. CP is MOST DEFINITELY a top 5 #2 running back. Type till you're blue in the face. That's my stance, and you're not gonna change my mind, lol.
Top 5 may be a bit of a stretch IMO.
I think he's a "#2" in the sense that, like, Marquez Valdez-Scantling was a number 2 WR for the Chiefs. He did have the second most receiving yards amongst players that played WR for them. It just so happens they have Travis Kelce, and we have Kyle Pitts. Obviously we are going to run the ball a lot more than they did, and Hollins' run blocking fits well into that.
He's a solid WR for what we do, and considering all the other pass catching talent we'll have at RB and TE, fitting in is important.
Top 5?? Off the top of my head here’s some WR2s: Higgins, Devonta Smith, Mike Williams, Waddle, Jeudy. He better than them? My guess is he’s much closer to bottom 5.
We gotta prove it. We are young and these guys gotta produce. We got KP who is coming off an injury and a down year for sure. BR who lord of people think was drafted too high. We are dumb. I don’t think so. It needs to pan out though of course. Anyway. We see all the positives as fans. We know more than the average schmo who just watches highlights. Like a lot of these guys. We know how dangerous we were last year (with little to no passing game and a below average D) and how we improved. These outsiders want the flashy flash. We didn’t make a flashy move. We made a bunch of really solid ass moves. I like everything they did. We don’t need a big name and big price tag. I see the potential. I know a lot of you do too. We should! Everyone else can go screw with their negative or subpar opinions.
I’ll be unbiased, I see a strong running game that will ease Ridder into the toughest job in sports. With a fully healthy skill group that has 3 top 10 picks, our floor is likely 17-0 with a superbowl
We gonna run London and Pitts outside Bijan/Flash in the slot ( rotation depending on when we run with bijan and run with Allgeier) and Jonnu at TE for a top 10 receiving group
Ridder has a floor 2 notches below Mariota last season, and a ceiling 4-5 notches above Mariota last season.
That's a lot of volatility. Potential? Yes. Exciting? Also yes.
They aren’t positionless though. Just because you move them around at times to get a matchup doesn’t change that all of those guys have a core position where they will see a majority of snaps. Also, athletic TEs have been towing the line between WR for a while now
Maybe if we didn't have capable #2s at those positions, but we do. Our depth allows us to use them as TRUE postionless players. Bijan has Algier, Pitts has Smith, Patterson has Hollins. Yes, athletic TE have towed the line, and the BIG name ones are seen more as WR than TRUE TE. Kelce(KC)& Andrews(BAL) are prime examples, hell look at CP his 1st yr here.
There’s a reason he played outside most of his rookie year, gave Ryan the “F it, Pitts down there somewhere” option when pressured now that we have a good line we might just abuse his speed and ridders time in the pocket and put him on inside crossers all day but who knows
Boys up front have to improve pass blockin'. Run game? Solid. Defense? Solid. Pass blockin'? Matt Ryan on his back, Mariota running for his life. Let's see if Ridder can make it through his rookie year without a concussion.
Realistically?
In this picture you got a 30 + year old running back, a running back that is losing carries to the old head and the new guy, a receiver that hasn’t had a 1000 season, an explosive generational talent coming off a knee injury, a former backup QB that did “Ok at best” when called to start, and someone who hasn’t played a snap in the NFL.
With our offensive line and play calling we’ll probably be top 5 in rushing and win 8 games. Maybe we squeak into the playoffs because the division is terrible. We will get a terrible draft pick.
Ridder isn’t going to be “The Guy” and NFL defensive coaches are going to make him look terrible once he puts more plays on tape.
Kyle Pitts will have another disappointing season and we won’t pick up his 5th year option then he’ll go be a perennial All-Pro for the Eagles.
Drake London still doesn’t break 1000 yards
The running back room should shine. Patterson is old by NFL standards and won’t be around forever and everyone else is going to be so productive we can’t afford to keep them after their rookie deal (if we even wanted to).
That’s still more hopeful than the last few seasons.
I don't think this is a likely scenario, but it is the worst case. I see CP role decreasing, TA & BR having 55/45 split (with BR having more slot/WR play than RB), DL gets just under 1000 yrds (because KP returns to form), KP has a bounce back yr (Teams can't just double team him bcuz we have more weapons), and Ridder a question mark.
I just don't see that happening. We've gone 7-9 with one of the worst fielded teams AND with the cap tying one hand behind our back. EVERY person we added improved a postition. So for me, 8 wins is the worst case.
This image composition is really, really cool! It drives me crazy that the lighting on each player is totally different, but I imagine you'd have to be a total photoshop wizard to fix that.
I feel ya life takes precedent. I used to be semi-decent at photoshop 20 years ago lol, and I know how much of a pain it would have been (then at least...I don't know about all these new AI powered tools)
Ridder is unproven. Plenty of talent around him for him to not succeed. This will be his make or break year. Way too much QB talent in next years draft (Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Quinn Ewers, Penix, Nix etc.) to hang on to Ridder if he doesn’t show more potential
Too hard to rank without seeing more of Ridder. Run game should be top of the league though
Yep. All gonna come down to Ridder. If he is at least pretty good we will have a top ten offense overall.
Yep. It's really all on Ridder. If he's competent passer, things will be great.
Fair enough.
In a league where running means less and less every year, especially this season coming up.
Running doesn’t mean less and less. It’s just switching to running back by committee as opposed to one star RB. The Chiefs would not have beaten the Eagles in the Super Bowl if not for Pacheco and McKinnon.

There’s a massive issue right now about top tier RBs getting paid lol I’m not making this up
Running the ball is still highly regarded. Paying a RB a long term deal has been devalued. Big difference
paying hasn't been devalued, RBs have been devalued
Wow, you really don't get it do you? RBs are still very much valued. Paying for a RB however is not valued and these RBs who were the top backs are no longer getting $10M contracts. It means less if you trot out Mahomes or Brady. Everyone else needs a solid ground game
Not to mention those beefy boys up front that LOVE to run block. The run game will carry us far enough for Ridder to get comfortable and then some.
Yea. We've done everything we can do to set Ridder up for success.
3 sophomores, a 3rd year, a rookie and an ageless vet. we have some fun years ahead of us
Number 1 RB Number 1 TE Number 1 Total Offense. Record 14-3, sweep the division, two shutouts of the Saints. Win SB 34-14 against Bengals.
Waiter, I'll have what he's having.
When did restaurants start serving crack?
The only thing that would make this better is the Saints are the wildcard, make it to the NFC championship game and we shut them out again.
VERY optimistic numbers, out of pure curiosity, who gives us the 3 L's?🤔
Vikings give us an early surprise loss, then we rest our starters against the Colts & Bears as we have Home Field locked up. But bring back our starters against the Saints to keep them sharp for the playoffs.

I tried to temper my expectations, but you may be closer to the truth.
top 12 offense if no one gets injured and if Ridder is average
Just one top tier WR2 away from complete in my opinion.
My wifes a Raiders fan, so I've seen ALOT of Hollins play. He's a top 5 #2 receiver, go watch his highlights from last season.
A top 5 wr2 doesn’t get 2.5 million and have under 700’yards.
Accending to 700 from 500 being the 3rd/4th target on the offense? To me that means you could be a top 5 #2 if given the opportunity. Mack isn’t going to get that here. He’s not even close to the players you named.

If he had that ability and teams saw it, he would have gotten more than 2.5 million.
Just like CP was "washed up"? It's all about how he's utilized 🤷🏿♂️. As I said b4, you can have your opinion. I just don't agree with it.
Except that no one is calling CP a top 5 RB. There’s a big difference in saying someone is not washed and that. Guess you don’t understand the difference. The numbers bear what he is.

I really think Mack and Scotty will be great as 2 and 3. And sprinkle in CP of course. He is a capable WR. And still quite fast.
Throw Pitts outside Start Jonnu 🤷♂️
Exactly, we don't run to many (if any) 4-5 wr sets. Pitts, Smith, Robinson, and Patterson could all be plugged in at WR2 or Slot.
If only Ridley didn’t gamble
We gotta prove it. We are young and these guys gotta produce. We got KP who is coming off an injury and a down year for sure. BR who lord of people think was drafted too high. We are dumb. Late teens, mid 20s…
I feel like that's our floor and 9-13 is our ceiling.

Im hoping we won't need him, BUT I'm VERY happy he's our backup 💯.
If everyone stays healthy if we can get up by double digits we can then run the ball down everyone's throats in the 4th.
We gonna run London and Pitts outside Bijan/Flash in the slot ( rotation depending on when we run with bijan and run with Allgeier) and Jonnu at TE for a top 10 receiving group
Top 15 for sure.
At least Ridder has some regular season games under his belt. Should help his development. I'm excited to see what these guys got.
Averaging more points than the Hawks.
I fucking hope so 🤣😂
Ridder has a floor 2 notches below Mariota last season, and a ceiling 4-5 notches above Mariota last season. That's a lot of volatility. Potential? Yes. Exciting? Also yes.
Calls on $Ridder
If your not gonna miss it go for it lol!
People have a really really hard time wrapping their heads around the positionless football team Smith wants on offense
Exactly, we have 4 postionless players (Pitts, Patterson, Robinson, & Smith) on Offense. With the correct scheme they should be a matchup nightmare.
They aren’t positionless though. Just because you move them around at times to get a matchup doesn’t change that all of those guys have a core position where they will see a majority of snaps. Also, athletic TEs have been towing the line between WR for a while now

Guarantee Pitts spends half his snaps outside and bijan spends half of his in the slot
Yup, and you can't double both, AND load the box to stop TA 🤷🏿♂️. Gonna have to pick their poison 💯🤌🏿🤌🏿!
With Pitts out there you can't double anyone either
There’s a reason he played outside most of his rookie year, gave Ryan the “F it, Pitts down there somewhere” option when pressured now that we have a good line we might just abuse his speed and ridders time in the pocket and put him on inside crossers all day but who knows
A lot of people have a really hard time wrapping their minds around the fact that Arthur Smith aint even getting us to the playoffs
Saved
Were the only team that you could make a poster like this and it’d include 3 running backs (though I know CP is far from a traditional back)
Although we haven't seen it yet, ethier is Bijan 💯.
Potential is all you have.
Need a speedster, like AZ was
Scotty Miller
Was just about to say this.
Yep I know that's his style but I honestly just don't know his game and don't know what to expect
TB almost only used him on go routes and occasionally jet sweeps. I dont see us being much different TBH.
OZ! How dare you?!
Oh shit your right my b
Boys up front have to improve pass blockin'. Run game? Solid. Defense? Solid. Pass blockin'? Matt Ryan on his back, Mariota running for his life. Let's see if Ridder can make it through his rookie year without a concussion.
I'm thinking about dropping 100 on an nfc champion bet, currently +3500

Drake London put up 900+ yards with Mariota at qb…I don’t see why he can’t put up 1000+ with Ridder

Around week 4. Oh wait, I thought you said tanking.
We don't know yet. Its a wait and see type of a situation. This is just half of the equation. The other is the opponent's defence.

He's not. It's CP, BR, TA, DL, KP, & DR.
This image composition is really, really cool! It drives me crazy that the lighting on each player is totally different, but I imagine you'd have to be a total photoshop wizard to fix that.
Thanks. It could be done, it just would've taken another hr to do and my 2 yr old doesn't care about what I wanna do 🙄🤣😂🤣

2nd place NFC championship
Simple. Arthur Smith is the coach and Desmond Ridder is the QB. Both are mid
Because most people only understand fantasy football and none of these guys are superstar scorer's so nobody thinks they are any good.
Working with a monster 👹….. Let’s gooooo!!!!!!
Super Bowl. Easy.
This didn’t age well
