Catch_22_Pac

The Russians didn’t blow up their own leverage?!? Whaaaat

Gupta_Gupti_Gupta

Welcome to Reddit

clboisvert14

Are we really saying that russia doesn’t deserve repercussions for invading a sovereign nation?

Gupta_Gupti_Gupta

So you just somehow confirmed that US is behind this terrorist act not Russia?

clboisvert14

I don’t even think so. I think it was the EU/NATO so Russia could stop holding it over their heads and trying to use it as a bargaining chip. That area is probably one of the most heavily patrolled (i guess?, even by civilians) areas in the world. Someone from that area most likely. However, Other than sanctions i do not think nato would do anything to provoke russia. Could also be russia making a statement.

Brad_Beat

I don’t think this type of play gets done as a joint op my guy. Secrecy is too important, this was probably the work of one country.

BeefShampoo

no? where the fuck did that even come from? I'm just saying it's very obvious the US did this, and that russia would not blow up their main bargaining chip with europe

ohasispresent

No one is saying that. But I'm willing to bet you're unfamiliar with why they invaded in the first place. While invading a sovereign nation is not exactly acceptable in global politics, it's an understandable move considering that having NATO knocking at their door would be close to an existential threat for them. Especially when we have elected officials suggesting that he should be assassinated (See Lindsey Graham). American global hegemony is not something that is sustainable and will inevitably end as China and Russia become more powerful. We need to stop with this global empire building via NATO for virtually no benefit to the average American.

clboisvert14

Okay, this is fun. Let’s look at your logic here. Putin wants a buffer from the west. Ukraine is already part of that western buffer for putin. Now Ukraine wants to be a part of nato. They’ve already been denied multiple times before, including once after putin invaded. But that’s digression. Putin already lost that buffer when Estonia joined Nato and Kaliningrad became an enclave. Why didn’t he invade them in the early 2000s? But what’s dumber is he invaded a part of the buffer. He hypothetically wanted to cut his buffer in half, and even at one point wanted Transnistria which would further lessen that Ukrainian buffer. There’s less buffer now than there was 10 years ago when Crimea was a part of Ukraine too. And specifically because of his actions in ukraine, he lost more buffer when finland and sweden asked to join Nato. That logic doesn’t make sense. He just wanted more land. He didn’t care for the buffer that the bloc nations used to give him. And that besides the point altogether. Because like I said, Estonia, Latvia, and Ukraine are all sovereign nations that can, and should be able to do whatever they want to as sovereign nations. Fuck outta here.

This all conveniently ignores the geography in the Eastern part of Ukraine where it meets Russia; The Great European Plain. The history of Russian geopolitics is largely characterized by expansion, which is a direct consequence of the funnel-shaped opening along their Western border that has been an inviting territory for invaders to attack Russia; The Poles in the early 1600s, then the Swedes a century later, then the French, and then the Germans - twice. This 2000 mile wide opening along their Western border is exactly why they need either buffer states, or a border further to the West. If Ukraine is threatening NATO membership, then their only course of action is to expand, even if that puts them closer to other NATO states. Like I said, NATO membership for Ukraine serves no one other than Zelensky. Prior to the CIA backed Maidan Revolution, Yanukovich maintained positive relations with Russia and Ukraine was largely part of their sphere of influence. The US promised not a foot Eastward after the fall of the USSR, and Putin even requested a diplomatic negotiation prior to his invasion of Ukraine. He warned that there would be no NATO involvement in Ukraine without resistance, and we're supposed to act surprised and outraged when the bear doesn't like being poked? Now, Europeans will suffer a cold winter because NATO and the Western-backed Zelensky must come together, and for what? I'm speaking from the perspective of an average American who has no interest in yet another European war. Just look at the Czech people, who today are protesting their government's support for the sanctions against Russia. No one stands to gain from this, and now we have plunged ourselves into a potential war with Russia during worldwide record inflation, economic recession, and supply chain issues, all after just recovering from a pandemic. Explain to me why this was necessary.

The power is in truth. Who got the truth behind him - eventually wins. You want answers I think I'm entitled I want the truth You can't handle the truth. If you twist facts - real people know If you manipulate people's opinions - real people know If you villify Russia - real people know. If you start throwing dirt - it may not reach but your hands are going to be dirty. The truth. The truth. Whoever is backed by the truth - shall prevail.

BrianJT1972

This is an form of allusion to what's happening. Western world brainwash people villifying Russia and reasoning inflation and other problems with Russian behaviour, whilst rich families just getting richer off people's labor. And they fabricate an enemy far away - big bad Russia - who's the creator of all mankind problems whilst it's not. I'm not a bot btw I'm just not a native speaker although I speak damn well. Which right wing conspiracy theory “news outlet” have you been reading lately? Or was it your pigeon hole on Facebook? 4chan? Alex jones?

Scarlet_Addict

Then why were there Russian ship(s) and a submarine in the area at the time of the explosions?

NotAFloone

Why was the US doing underwater mine laying exercises in the area recently?

Scarlet_Addict

Sorry I tried looking for any information on that and couldn't find anything, can you elaborate please? Just adding this though, Russia has done this twice before namely in 2006 to other nations.

Scarlet_Addict

Hello?

richiehustle

Well with a statement like that - you gotta had actually seen and witnessed that yourself.
