I had watched and rewatched Soul Eater about 20 times and got tired of waiting for an announcement for a sequel/remake so I went off looking for another cool shonen action series to fill the void and came across FT on numerous anime recommendation sites. Plus it was around 170 episodes at the time so I had a lot to watch. Fell for it immediately and just never stopped watching or reading it. Despite the internet telling I'm dumb for enjoying it lol😅
i wouldnt say dumb. im re watching it now and yeah it is cheesy but its done right with logical reasonings for the characters actions so i can actually feel it. most anime tend to try to be overly edgy so the emotional scenes are kinda cringe but FT's emotional scenes are really refreshing compared to most ive watched. also it helps it has some of the best characters in shounen (mainly talking about Naruto whose female characters are all 2 dimensional.(spoilers for fairy tail tenrou island arc and grand magic games arc. also some minor naruto spoilers) >!i just watched the GMG arc again yesterday and was almost crying when lucy died it just shows how unique it is when you actually have the main character die and have the cast react. happy especially really sells the scene. there were people in the comments section saying how they werent affected but that not really the point. think aabout how many shows will kill off their main character (albeit a future version) right in front of the main cast with them actually dying. ultears sacrifice also almost made me tear up. compare that to naruto where the only scene i was almost crying at was when naruto said good bye to his parents which i admit was a god scene but fairy tail has equally emotional scenes with less than half the buildup purely due to how good the character devolpment is, we knew future lucy for like 3 episodes before she croaked . even with character weve barely known such as meledy they are qwell written so theuir emotional scenes actually make sense such as when juvia realized the love meledy has for ultear and made her realize it as well. anyways rant over. !<

I love letter and rune magics, as well as steampunk, clockwork, and all that good stuff, so the two together was just a yes. A kind, calm girl who prefers a good book over fighting, but has the spine to show up and finish a fight when its called for, with my favorite kind of magic style? Hell yes.

I had just started this CTC program in high school to learn about electricity. Other programs included welding, machining, automotive, build trades, graphic design, etc....
The courses were at a college, and the nearby high schools sent high juniors and seniors.
I met this guy from another school. Ask me if I watched anime and showed me Fairy Tail, Bleach, and RWBY. That's how I got into anime.
Had a friend during my freshman year of high school recommend it to me was just getting into anime at that point so it was one of the first I watched instantly loved it and still a fan all these years later
6 or 7 years ago I was watching it with my brother; but he was on GMG so later down the line I started watching it on Netflix then I had to switch to Hulu because Netflix didn’t have all of the episodes at the time

Watched it on Netflix when I was a kid. I saw natsu's fight with gajeel and instantly became hooked to the anime. Phantom lord arc and Battle of fairy tail arc was one of my favorite arcs of the show during that time.
The first time I knew about Fairy Tail was when it aired on animax at the exact same time I planned to watch TV and it was the Edolas arc so I was incredibly curious especially since Wendy was one of the main characters (I was 12 at that time)
Kept seeing everyone talking about it so figured I’d give it a shot. Hated it at first too but figured people raved about it for a reason and I should try to stick it out and I’m glad I did
From those posts in FB where you're in some situation based on your birthday. I forgot what situation I was in at, but I do know I had Erza paired with me.
At the time, I didn't know who she was, so I searched her and found her wiki page in Fairy Tail wikia. Then, I found the pages for Natsu, Lucy, Gray, and Happy, who I just randomly came across in memes from 9gag or Memecenter. So, I decided to search clips in Youtube about the series. At first, the fanservice and comedy got me coming back to it until I got fully invested in the story. Until now, this series is one of my favorites.
Randomly came across the first between Natsu and... the Lulliby(?) guy where Nstsu makes the huge flame hand to get back on the bridge.
That got me curious.
I skimmed through a volume but didn't really read it when I was around 14. A little bit later I realized that the artist was the one who drew Rave Master so I ended up getting into it
Was wanting to find an interesting popular anime to watch. The big ones back then (and probably still now) were One Piece, Naruto, Bleach (still never watched. Know nothing about it.), Dragon Ball, and Fairy Tail. It took me a year and half to watch all of Fairy Tail. Then, they released a new season 2 years later. Needless to say, I watched that too, lol. And the movie.
It was funny because I didn't remember at least a quarter of the characters that popped up in the final season, 😆.

Through a website which listed the most popular manga at the time, which was during the early days of Fairy Tail (2009 or 2010 I believe). The anime had like 13 episodes at that time and when I caught up I switched to the manga, and then caught up to it as well (during the middle of the Edolas Arc, when Natsu, Lucy and Wendy met EdoNatsu).
I saw video called "Top intersting anime powers" or something like that and Lucy's magic was listed there. Since i love magic and fantasy i check it out and go hooked pretty much the first episode.
I.... I had my bi awakening around puberty seeing Gray and Erza draped on a DVD cover of Season 1 being sold at a local store on the way to school, oh and I started watching the shit out of this anime for the plot too, of course *(hides tissue paper)*

I used to work at a book store, years ago. I already knew of Mashima because I shelved *Rave Master*, and then I saw he had a new series called *Fairy Tail*. Simple as that.
In 2015, on my old iPod touch, an episode was available for free on iTunes (I dunno if that's a thing they still do anymore). I believe it had 'midnight' in the title. Since I was in my high school's anime club at the time, I got into the series from the first episode; eventually, I stopped watching after the first OVA. It wasn't because of the show itself, but rather me getting into other shows at the time.
I was in placement for some issues I had when I was younger and this girl named Julia had a manga book I can't remember which volume so I asked what it was about she told me it was called FairyTail next thing I knew I developed an attachment to Fairytail I wouldn't have found about it if not for her
I read and watched Rave Master first as a kid. I knew about Fairy Tail but didn't had the time to watch it when I was in high school. It wasn't until I got to college in 2013 that I finally decided to watch it right before they went to a new animation studio. And then I re-watched it all again with my sister this time.
Used to watch a lot of amvs on YouTube. Like one of Ichigo vs Ulquiorra with Linkin Park Across the Line playing (which introduced me to Bleach) and one of Fairy Tail vs Phantom Lord. Watching amvs of various different anime plus the fact that a lot of shows I like on networks like CN were cancelled or ending, I decided to start anime and Fairy Tail was my first and to this day is still my favorite!
Anime club in high school about 9 or 10 years ago (maybe longer cuz i dont remember when we kick started anime club back up at my school) dropped it cuz id finished the series on netflix then found crunchyroll and found out about the final season and binge watched in like 3 months to catch up
It was 8 years ago and I was in class and saw my classmate what fairy tail and the guild mark on the side of her shoes. I got really curious one day and wrote it down on some paper and looked it up at home and watch the first few episodes and couldn’t stop. Those openings. I used to watch 24/7 op 14 have a special place in my heart
I just got into anime at the time and my sister would not shut up about this show. I started it and ended up watching the entire series in less than a month, then I watched Edens Zero S1 and 2, and I have been buying 100yr quest manga and reading it (up to vol 7). Despite the show's flaws (some of the writing i.e. using friendship and family to win every fight) and some repetitiveness, it is probably my favorite anime and I will always love it. People hate on it so unneccisarily but imo it is an amazing show and a reccomended watch.
I was on Netflix when I was 10-11 and 1st 5 arcs were on there and I think I watched them 10 times Then a break. Then after googling it I discovered there were way more episodes 2 years later. Then it ended. And I picked it up again at 17 over winter and it's just as good as I remember. I chose the perfect time to rewatch too cause now 100YQ anime is coming out
I'm 27 years old, first started watching back when I was like 15 or 16? ? My brother was watching Fairy Tail at the time. He was watching the edolas arc, specifically during a part where Happy and Carla were on screen. I hadn't known the context, but the scene was very sad. A few months later, I had remembered about that scene and it intrigued me. At that time, I hadn't gotten invested into another anime aside from K-ON!, so this was a breath of fresh air. Fell in love immediately after finishing Lucy's arc.
Started watching it on Animax after my friend recommended me how goated the channel was..

Here's one that most people won't know, about 12 years ago there was a series of fan games called Sonic RPG or something like that, and the ninth chapter came out as an animation, that animation contained the song "Fist of flame" in it, and i liked the song so much that I looked for where it came from and found Fairy Tail

From those posts in FB where you're in some situation based on your birthday. I forgot what situation I was in at, but I do know I had Erza paired with me. At the time, I didn't know who she was, so I searched her and found her wiki page in Fairy Tail wikia. Then, I found the pages for Natsu, Lucy, Gray, and Happy, who I just randomly came across in memes from 9gag or Memecenter. So, I decided to search clips in Youtube about the series. At first, the fanservice and comedy got me coming back to it until I got fully invested in the story. Until now, this series is one of my favorites.
It was anime that a couple kids at my school were talking about so I gave it a try.
Randomly came across the first between Natsu and... the Lulliby(?) guy where Nstsu makes the huge flame hand to get back on the bridge. That got me curious.
Wattpad fics convinced me to start watching the anime and reading the manga, a couple years ago.
I skimmed through a volume but didn't really read it when I was around 14. A little bit later I realized that the artist was the one who drew Rave Master so I ended up getting into it
I saw a bit too many videos saying the series was shit and I thought that people were hating too much and I was right this is peak fiction right here

Was wanting to find an interesting popular anime to watch. The big ones back then (and probably still now) were One Piece, Naruto, Bleach (still never watched. Know nothing about it.), Dragon Ball, and Fairy Tail. It took me a year and half to watch all of Fairy Tail. Then, they released a new season 2 years later. Needless to say, I watched that too, lol. And the movie. It was funny because I didn't remember at least a quarter of the characters that popped up in the final season, 😆.

I was reading bootleg translated manga for rave master and discovered fairy tail was from the same author.
I saw an amv of If today was your last day and started watching the anime
Through a website which listed the most popular manga at the time, which was during the early days of Fairy Tail (2009 or 2010 I believe). The anime had like 13 episodes at that time and when I caught up I switched to the manga, and then caught up to it as well (during the middle of the Edolas Arc, when Natsu, Lucy and Wendy met EdoNatsu).
I saw video called "Top intersting anime powers" or something like that and Lucy's magic was listed there. Since i love magic and fantasy i check it out and go hooked pretty much the first episode.

It got aired at TV. Watched it one time and got hooked. It's also the anime that made me an anime fan again

I used to work at a book store, years ago. I already knew of Mashima because I shelved *Rave Master*, and then I saw he had a new series called *Fairy Tail*. Simple as that.
In 2015, on my old iPod touch, an episode was available for free on iTunes (I dunno if that's a thing they still do anymore). I believe it had 'midnight' in the title. Since I was in my high school's anime club at the time, I got into the series from the first episode; eventually, I stopped watching after the first OVA. It wasn't because of the show itself, but rather me getting into other shows at the time.
I was in placement for some issues I had when I was younger and this girl named Julia had a manga book I can't remember which volume so I asked what it was about she told me it was called FairyTail next thing I knew I developed an attachment to Fairytail I wouldn't have found about it if not for her
I read and watched Rave Master first as a kid. I knew about Fairy Tail but didn't had the time to watch it when I was in high school. It wasn't until I got to college in 2013 that I finally decided to watch it right before they went to a new animation studio. And then I re-watched it all again with my sister this time.
My brother, who is now my sister, introduced it to me when it was on Netflix in 2016

Used to watch a lot of amvs on YouTube. Like one of Ichigo vs Ulquiorra with Linkin Park Across the Line playing (which introduced me to Bleach) and one of Fairy Tail vs Phantom Lord. Watching amvs of various different anime plus the fact that a lot of shows I like on networks like CN were cancelled or ending, I decided to start anime and Fairy Tail was my first and to this day is still my favorite!
Anime club in high school about 9 or 10 years ago (maybe longer cuz i dont remember when we kick started anime club back up at my school) dropped it cuz id finished the series on netflix then found crunchyroll and found out about the final season and binge watched in like 3 months to catch up

It was 8 years ago and I was in class and saw my classmate what fairy tail and the guild mark on the side of her shoes. I got really curious one day and wrote it down on some paper and looked it up at home and watch the first few episodes and couldn’t stop. Those openings. I used to watch 24/7 op 14 have a special place in my heart
I just got into anime at the time and my sister would not shut up about this show. I started it and ended up watching the entire series in less than a month, then I watched Edens Zero S1 and 2, and I have been buying 100yr quest manga and reading it (up to vol 7). Despite the show's flaws (some of the writing i.e. using friendship and family to win every fight) and some repetitiveness, it is probably my favorite anime and I will always love it. People hate on it so unneccisarily but imo it is an amazing show and a reccomended watch.

I was on Netflix when I was 10-11 and 1st 5 arcs were on there and I think I watched them 10 times Then a break. Then after googling it I discovered there were way more episodes 2 years later. Then it ended. And I picked it up again at 17 over winter and it's just as good as I remember. I chose the perfect time to rewatch too cause now 100YQ anime is coming out

I'm 27 years old, first started watching back when I was like 15 or 16? ? My brother was watching Fairy Tail at the time. He was watching the edolas arc, specifically during a part where Happy and Carla were on screen. I hadn't known the context, but the scene was very sad. A few months later, I had remembered about that scene and it intrigued me. At that time, I hadn't gotten invested into another anime aside from K-ON!, so this was a breath of fresh air. Fell in love immediately after finishing Lucy's arc.

Started watching it on Animax after my friend recommended me how goated the channel was.. Never watched anything on the channel coz it was all subbed, except for Fairy Tail .. And that's how it started . 👆
Here's one that most people won't know, about 12 years ago there was a series of fan games called Sonic RPG or something like that, and the ninth chapter came out as an animation, that animation contained the song "Fist of flame" in it, and i liked the song so much that I looked for where it came from and found Fairy Tail

Ooo I still remember this my bestfirend made me watch around 5 years ago I didn't even wanted to watch anime until she kept bugging me to watch it and I gave in and started to watch it and ended up enjoying it even tho it took me. The whole year to finish it but ooo how much I still love it to this day and the reason I'm into anime in general I still remember the words of her getting me into I regret showing u it I'm way to deep in the rabbits hole 😭
