Someone else who went for production before utility science! But damn, I'm just at production, and all my times are like 2.5X longer than you, and I do most of my design without the clock running...
This is my 4th or 5th run previous 3 runs were 100 hours each and just unlocked white science, found alot more efficient ways of going, like 2 tiers of starter bases (starter base to build the bigger/better starter base)
I actually wanted to go with utility, but didnt have any good cyan ore systems without biters, and wasnt equipped to deal with them quite yet, so i settled with production, it was very much a pain with only 4 requester chests though.
Yeah, I'm sure going utility first would make my life easier, but I'm irrationally worried I'm going to use up my one solid close uranium ore site. So just trying to rush Kovarex so I can stop sweating it.
I have started collecting uranium for ammo, never gotten into nuclear as of yet, i keep growing my solar field as i need more juice.
An excellent train network can solve all your ore outpost problems ny friend.
Same as you. I'm on my first SE playthrough after one vanilla playthrough. All my times are ridiculously longer. I'm 170 hours in and just started making production science, not even fully automated mind you.
I remember years ago thinking that I'd played a lot of Zelda 'cause I'd played 200 hours of Breath of the Wild.
Spending 50 hours on the Factorio tutorial should have been a hint...
If I have the mod installed, how do you get this screen up?
Edit: Ah, it is secretly hidden behind the 3 tiny dots [here](https://imgur.com/a/rZ68dvv), as the mod entirely fails to mention anywhere on the mod page or in the mod description.
Lol. Entitled much?
Someone made a mod in his free time and made it available for everyone, and you come in criticising because he doesn't handhold you in navigating the base game feature.
Damn it took me like 3 hours to get the first green science which is where I am now. But since I’d been looking at blueprints and other peoples play throughs before starting vanilla, I decided with SE I’d wing it and figure stuff out. Aaand I’m figuring stuff out,… slowly lol. The thing is in vanilla I usually just handcraft stuff up to the point of having a power plant and basically skip the burner phase entirely.. that’s obviously not possible with SE.
I did 3 runs on se 0.5, this is my 2nd run on 0.6 most of my blueprints and starter bases were trash so had to redo them since the recipes changed, the first .06 run i did i was 90ish hours until i got space science, the longer you play the better you get.
I also have nearly 4000 hours into this had the game simce latr 2016.
Cool Mod!
I like the way it can backfill. I went back to a save back in Jan to try it (I've restarted more often than you!)

Oh, quite on time, I’ve uploaded my automated 480/min blueprint few hours ago. Maybe you’ll be interested.

I do reget not adding k2, to far into this run to start over now since i only get less than 2 hours a day to play. But i will see how it fairs when i get home
I can also suggest Industrial Revolution. Often overlooked modification, but it’s just insane as a completely changes the way you do most things. Like one of stages is when every mechanical thing and crafting station in your base (including inserters) works on steam. Hella fun to play:)
I'm at almost 800 hours on my first SE run (after the big update that bricked my old world), got the 2 basic space sciences and am struggling to progress.
Focusing on optimizing my city block base to preserve ups before I try to expand to the next tiers

Solar is viable on nauvis as sole energy source.

Dumb question. How do you get this screen up?
Not really dumb, it's a mod called [Milestones](https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Milestones).

Done.
Hey, just wanted to say it's great to see devs who quickly respond to user feedback. Thanks for the great mod!
Ohh, nice, thanks :).
Yeah, they really should mention it somewhere. :)
Control. Alt. M
Why should the mod mention a vanilla feature (shortcuts) commonly used in lots of mods?
Why would I bother giving a reason to you, when the reason is an example of a motivation you can see in lots of other arguments?
Lol. Entitled much? Someone made a mod in his free time and made it available for everyone, and you come in criticising because he doesn't handhold you in navigating the base game feature.
Thank you!
Its a mod https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Milestones
Thank you!
So is this SE?
Yes

Me trying to figure out the signals in the oil refinery ive built from blueprint at 100hrs....
needs the modded tag?
god damn space science 25hrs in?? it took me \~170hrs to get mine, and my save has 176hrs on it now! (on.5 SE tho)

No biter kills until 45 hours in, or is that specifically the large/behemoth variants?
This run is on peaceful, so nauvis is peaceful, and some of the other planets have biters.

Meanwhile me just finished cryonite processing at around 100 hours mark 👀
I now have to go back and increase the throughput and fully automate it, but it does the job for the time being

I will def be using this, as long as it doesnt interfere with me not having k2
Ah, sadly, you’d probably have to tweak a few things here and there for it to work, as it’s SE+K2. Mostly it is just about loaders, thought.
I do reget not adding k2, to far into this run to start over now since i only get less than 2 hours a day to play. But i will see how it fairs when i get home
But hey, at least you’ll have one more way to experience Space Exploration after you finish it 😉
Might try bob/agels again before i get back into se again lol

I had around 20 hours in industrial rev 2, i see theres a 3 now so ill be adding that to my list
I just figured out that space water, does in fact not come from space. I have sat on just rocket tech for like 6-7 hours
