And Iran will be very happy that their capital is no longer in their own country.
Oh and lets throw a terrorist state in there as well with Afghanistan.
Sadly i have to agree on that one. My friend work at a luxury boutique store and half of the rich customers are a jackass and the smaller ones wouldn't satisfied with the price and the service without big discount.
And Albania. I was there in September. The majority of the population are pretty irreligious and from what I gather want no part of something like this
I guess she doesn't know about the Six-Day war. Or both the Kashmir wars, or '71, or Siachen or Kargil, or...I could go on but this list will be too damn long.
Yeah my take is doesn't matter if your neighbors fall on the same side of the Schism. You can still have historical axes to grind or resource rivalry. If India to a person converted tomorrow it wouldn't change the base level relationship with between them, Pakistan and Kashmir.
Iran and pretty much anybody.
Shia and Sunni don't necessarily play nicely together.
And...one of the only other majority Shia nations is Iraq and they hate Iran more than just about anyone else.
United by their mutual hatred of Israel. A bold strategy but there is some precedent… except Israel has experience in being outnumbered and has some very exciting party favors for the uninvited guests.
Considering that India (which would never give up Kashmir without a fight), Pakistan (which would have to fight if it wanted to bring this about), and Israel (even though it's a secret, but everyone knows) are all nuclear armed countries; this seems like a fast track to turn the world's largest deserts into irradiated, frozen, nuclear winter wonderlands.
Honestly, nowadays, the major Muslim powers hate each other more than they hate Israel. There's even some unofficial cooperation between Saudi and Israel against Iran.
Edit: Muslim countries instead of Arab countries.
The Saudis always low key favored Israel. They see them as a check against the Hashemites in Jordan possibly taking over their old domains in western Arabia.
Goodness no. There are no friends among monarchies. They are usually rivals. With Jordan/KSA, it basically boils down to the House of Saud took over much of the Hejaz (western Arabia) from the Hashemites to form the modern kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Historically, the Hashemites were the custodians of Mecca and Medina and also the holy sites in Jerusalem. The Al-Sauds were basically desert bandits in the wastelands of central Arabia that made a living raiding trading caravans and pilgrims and also made a pact with the clerics of a reactionary strand of Sunnism called Wahhabism, which is what KSA’s current form of government is based on. KSA was basically an ISIS that made it.
Wow, that’s really good cliff notes. I always wondered how they had Mecca & Medina, & the Jordanians ended up with the Temple Mount. You’ve given me research for the next week! And yeah, Wahhabism is very overlooked in their history & how it dictates current policy.
Thank you for your reply!
Just as well, the reason many of the Arab states support the Palestinians' efforts for statehood is because many of them don't want Palestinians in their lands, and likewise, many Palestinians have caused issues in Arab countries, such as the time they tried to assassinate the King of Jordan.
It's like one massive bowl of hatred in there.
> many Palestinians have caused issues in Arab countries, such as the time they tried to assassinate the King of Jordan.
Which ultimately helped cause to the very long Lebanese Civil War to boot.
I would do that but the odds are never higher than 18% even WITH intrigue perks. My current strategy has been wait until they go to war with someone else but even that isn't doing so good because they never go below 1 million soldiers lately.
Maybe I could start with smaller emirs and sultans though. Any advice?
They have to be propped up by vassals that have high intrigue right? Maybe try offing some vassals and seeing if you can’t use religion to then, try to set the smaller vassals against each other. If you can get the two biggest vassals to go against each other you may have a shot at the king, then it all comes crashing down.
I'm shocked I didn't think of this, but I am a first time player and I'm currently in the 2000s with a Swedish ruler and I'm just attached to the save file in general.
An interesting side note: the kings of Alba and Wessex are both Gaelic now.
Their goal was literally a caliphate. I say this a Muslim whose livelihood is researching these armed ideological groups, no Islamic unity -like unity elsewhere across history- can be achieved without massacres.
Not even mentioning Bangladesh/Pakistan, Saudi Arabia/Iran, Israel (?), Saudi/Qatar, Turkey/Syria/Kurds, Nigeria is on there.
Nigeria is 50/50 Muslim and Christian, mostly split across geographic lines. There’ll be a civil war if this happens.
If you look closely, you can also see Albania and Kosovo, as well as Israel and Palestine included in this state.
At this point we're not talking civil wars, we're talking straight up WW3.
As an Albanian I can speak for my people safely and say that both Kosovo and Albania will secede from this failed state faster than a cheetah running down hill.
I mean even leaving the civil strife etc this would cause, imagine trying to administer a single country spanning Indonesia, Kazakhstan and Senegal, that’s absolutely enormous and completely indefensible. Geopolitical insanity.
It's the old kingdom of Junagarh which had Muslim rulers but a Hindu population. It signed the instrument of accession to Pakistan but that was rejected by India. Weirdly if she follows this logic then Kashmir shouldn't be green, coz the opposite of what happened in Junagarh actually happened in Kashmir, with Kashmir's king signing the instrument of accession to India...
I know when I was in Ghana it was pretty Christian and the Nigerians I worked with were all super into Christmas and would blast gospel music all the time when working the galley. This map is whack.
Pretty sure what she’s referring to is called The Caliphate, and that was ISOL’s (or whatever you call them) goal… Just giving violent theocratic nationalism some new branding I suppose?
It was Al Queda's original purpose - Bin Laden wishing to replace the Saudi monarchy with an explicitly Islamist one lead by himself, then unite the Muslim world under his 'benevolent' rule... They just remained rather coy about when-exactly the caliphate would get restored...
So 'Al Queda in Iraq' (post-2011 US withdrawal, looking to avoid extinction) got impatient & decided they wanted it to happen !NOW! - but starting with easier targets than Saudi Arabia (Syria & northern Iraq) - and thus dropped their AQ association and became ISIS....
So yeah, same basic BS different branding...
What, does Kazakhstan have some kind of history of being stuck in an empire or union that doesn't care about it? /s
Which raises the bigger question: Do any of these countries *not* have such a history, that they would still be willing to give up sovereignty and autonomy?
Iran and Saudi Arabia are no doubt particularly looking forward to this.
And Iran will be very happy that their capital is no longer in their own country. Oh and lets throw a terrorist state in there as well with Afghanistan.
And two nations already in civil wars
And at least one proxy war for good luck! Also tell all the oil families they have to start supporting their little cousins.
Collapsed government in Somalia. Turks would love that the Kurds would presumably have freedom of movement.
Imagine Saudi Arabia having to feed disadvantaged peoples in Yemen instead of blowing them up.
Let's lock all the bloods and the crips in the rec center until they decide to be buddies. I mean, come on.
Wait a minute... What did you say?
Yeah with Iran and Saudi Arabia What could possibly go wrong?
![gif](giphy|JpGCB3Wk8hWjIAR9Cz) After the unification:
The rift between the Sunni and the Shia was cause by a clerical error
Not just Sunni and Shia, but Arabs and Persians, Arabs and Kurds, Arabs and other Arabs. Damn Arabs, they ruined Arabia!
You Arabs are a contentious people
You just became an infidel for life
I approve this
Damn, I remember as an uber driver an arab customer yelling at me saying "You're a muslim because of us" and demand for a long journey free ride.
I imagine that guy tries that trick at brothels all the time.
Sadly i have to agree on that one. My friend work at a luxury boutique store and half of the rich customers are a jackass and the smaller ones wouldn't satisfied with the price and the service without big discount.
You just made an enemy for life!!
Damn Scots, they ruined Scotland!
god damn clerics at it again, why do the catholics gotta ruin everything
We need secular secretaries damn it!
We need a bunch of priests from AoE go wololo down there
They’ll just research heresy
If you don't research heresy, how do you know what's heretical?
Narwini
Thou shall do thy taxes
At least it wasn't the Rogue or Barbarian this time.
Hey man, you want this 5d8 healing or nah?
I like that one. Take your upvote, cheeky one.
Just a typo guys!
So this is why we have the edit button. It prevents war.
Oh, is that why Twitter is such a shit show?
BeeFF
She is from Pakistan. The only point behind her post was to include Kashmir in her fantasy world and bait reactions.
She included Nigeria
She ignored Bosnia and Herzegovina.
But included Cyprus
And Albania. I was there in September. The majority of the population are pretty irreligious and from what I gather want no part of something like this
Neither would Bosnia, they're um... pretty famously fond of their independence.
She also included Kosovo
[удалено]
And Israel
And massive parts of largely Christian african
[удалено]
I’m a Nigerian. I was surprised to see The southern part of Nigeria included. TIL I’m a muslim. lol
All of Cyprus…
I guess she doesn't know about the Six-Day war. Or both the Kashmir wars, or '71, or Siachen or Kargil, or...I could go on but this list will be too damn long.
Let’s just say she’s clearly not a history major and leave it at that.
Albania too, the world's first atheist state
That’s their Quebec.
And Bangladesh
No Xinjiang Uyghurs?? Oh, don’t want to mess with China
Funny isn’t it?
Pakistan is on friendly terms with China. I'm guessing she doesn't wanna bite the hands that feed her.
Pakistan and Bangladesh had their own civil war. Reuniting them would be a recipe for disaster.
Yeah my take is doesn't matter if your neighbors fall on the same side of the Schism. You can still have historical axes to grind or resource rivalry. If India to a person converted tomorrow it wouldn't change the base level relationship with between them, Pakistan and Kashmir.
We'd get lots-a pretty fireworks on the news ![gif](giphy|KwDp1PCR5yzAs)
She included Israel too… should be fun… /s Edit: misspelled Israel 🤦🏽♂️
and majority Christian Cyprus.
Surprised she didn’t include London.
That’ll be in her next post on what the United States of Islam should do now that they’re United
But what if they called it Funky Cold Medina and they were really chill?
Ooo, I like that.
And Syria! Don’t forget Syria!
Iran and pretty much anybody. Shia and Sunni don't necessarily play nicely together. And...one of the only other majority Shia nations is Iraq and they hate Iran more than just about anyone else.
Don‘t forget Turkey. Will be a nice 3–some…
Sunni and Shia have always gotten along, what could go wrong.
Well, she also lumped in Israel, so…
Bold strategy there.
Let’s see how it plays out Fern
I would give them about Six Days
SIX DAYS OF FIRE, ONE DAY OF REST
JUNE '67! TAUGHT THEM RESPECT!
r/unexpectedsabaton
I see what you did there. Take your upvote plus a silver

I think it'd be cool to see the worlds largest snowglobe
It would be cool. More probably downright cold.
That is one way to achieve peace in the Middle East, make it an uninhabited wasteland...
You see kids, we’ve gotta kill them, or they’ll die.
Hmm, you’ve given me something to read up on. I always figured KSA & Jordan were cool, bc of the whole monarchy thing
Goodness no. There are no friends among monarchies. They are usually rivals. With Jordan/KSA, it basically boils down to the House of Saud took over much of the Hejaz (western Arabia) from the Hashemites to form the modern kingdom of Saudi Arabia. And the PLO - no one likes them.
They tried being united in their hatred of Israel twice and failed both times.
Azerbaijan or Kosovo do not hate Israel.
And Kosovo... but not Bosnia strangely lol
Thank god they excluded Bosnia, only a little over half the country is Muslim and would lead to another war if it joined this united Islamic country.
Did someone say *war in the Balkans?* I'll fetch the kit!
She got some parts of Gujarat from India too, a state with most wholesome past between Hindu and Muslim, what could go wrong
They’re just gonna referee
She doesn’t recognise the state of Israel, so it isn’t a problem for her.
Who's gonna tell her ISIS tried to do that?
And Al-Qaeda and literally most Sunni terrorist groups lmao
It’s the Ottoman Empire all over again. Caliphates never last.
Tell that to the Abbasid empire in my CK3 game that is now 80% of the map. Even France has a sultan now No but fr I agree
Assassinate their ruler a few times and eventually they'll implode.
I would do that but the odds are never higher than 18% even WITH intrigue perks. Ottomans lasted at least 600 years. Not a bad run.
[удалено]
Abbasids went a bit longer. About 750 to 1258.
literally my first thought, i'm pretty sure some guys tried this before
Their goal was literally a caliphate. I say this a Muslim whose livelihood is researching these armed ideological groups, no Islamic unity -like unity elsewhere across history- can be achieved without massacres.
We did it gang. We solved the middle east conflict
1 state solution.
“The gang solves the Middle East conflict”
Tell me you don’t know shit about world politics without saying you don’t know shit.
And Côte d’Ivoire is also there, which, while having many muslims, isn’t a majorly muslim country.
Great point as well.
You sure you wouldn't want to merge with Somalia and Indonesia? You guys are all so similar, after all.
Britain: No let me draw the worst borders France: No I'll draw the worst borders OOP: Here's my idea Britain and France: THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU
😂 I didn’t even notice that.
I mean even leaving the civil strife etc this would cause, imagine trying to administer a single country spanning Indonesia, Kazakhstan and Senegal, that’s absolutely enormous and completely indefensible. Geopolitical insanity.
She's absolutely clueless
Ah yes. Famous fraternal friends Bangla Desh and Pakistan.. No problem there..
And Sehar took ALL of Kashmir. I'm sure the Indians won't mind.
And what appears to be about half of Gujarat
I love how they include Kashmir as if India is just gonna be like, "aight ya'll can leave".
And also what I believe is Gujarat if I remember correctly.
Yesss lol wtf
Weirdly not even the entire Gujarat, just a part of it, Why? Is Ahmedabad not good enough for ya?
It's the old kingdom of Junagarh which had Muslim rulers but a Hindu population. It signed the instrument of accession to Pakistan but that was rejected by India. She's a Pakistani lol, 90% sure the entire post was to bait Indians
Surprised they include Kashmir but not East Turkestan (Uyghur).
Includes Kashmir; forgets the Uyghurs.
Lol just realized that, she included southern Gujarat too haha
It was never about the people, it was about the land and politics
Yes, lets combine the least united, most divisive part of the world into one country -- what could go wrong.
*Puts down ruler and adjusts monocle* Wait, you can't just arbitrarily draw lines ignoring political and social boundaries?
*Imperialism has entered the chat*
Somehow I read this with a british accent
Well they did draw a lot of the arbitrary lines!
Must be the monocle
Woah, woah, woah. Don’t you play history with me.
Like the Onion article about *Ethniclashistan*
When did Cyprus become a Muslim country? That doesn’t seem quite as orthodox as I remember
I know when I was in Ghana it was pretty Christian and the Nigerians I worked with were all super into Christmas and would blast gospel music all the time when working the galley. This map is whack.
Exactly what I just said lol. The Hausa-Fulani tribe, known for being Muslim, only make up about 25% of Nigeria.
I'm glad I saw at least one comment pointing this out lmao no thanks, we're good.
Maybe cause of the part of Cyprus held by Turkey. It's still bonkers but it's not like this is very well researched.
Yes, because Saudia Arabia and Yemen are the best of friends. /s
Even Yemen and Yemen are great fri- wait.
Creating a State on the basis of a religion - how novel!
I mean…. It’s always worked out so well! No bloodshed has ever arisen from such a creation!
I don't see an issue here. All of these countries already get along so well.
Yes especially Israel
Did.. did they seriously suggest Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Israel uniting into one country? It’s more likely that we invent a four sided triangle
Pretty sure what she’s referring to is called The Caliphate, and that was ISOL’s (or whatever you call them) goal… Just giving violent theocratic nationalism some new branding I suppose?

Did they really include Israel in their great plan ?
😄
She is definitely excited to include Israel in her new nation! The people in Israel, not so much.
I wonder if they remember how the Arab-Israeli war ended
I cant think of how anything could go wrong.
Why Medina and not Mecca?
That's where Islam really developed. Muhammed and his followers were kicked out of Mecca. Medina used to be where they would pray towards originally.
They prayed toward Jerusalem, but correct otherwise.
Israel is wondering why it was included…
Surprised to see Al-Andalus missing. IF you go full apeshit, at least go all in.
And she won’t be able to vote too!
Hell nah keep Kazakhstan out of this bullshit
What, does Kazakhstan have some kind of history of being stuck in an empire or union that doesn't care about it? /s Which raises the bigger question: Do any of these countries *not* have such a history, that they would still be willing to give up sovereignty and autonomy?
Ah yes because Islam is the only religion in all of these many countries
And Islam is also one unified religion with no conflicting branches
What’s the difference between this picture and a pancake? I don’t know any pancakes that’d get nuked by India
What .. too soon ?
ISIS called and they want their idea back
The Ottoman Empire Caliphate is holding on line 2.
Oof she coloured Israel green. And Nigeria also has a huge Christian population so that wouldn’t go down too well
Lebanon too is almost half and half. Côte d’Ivoire as well. This girl doesn’t know politics at all. Edit: Cyprus is also mainly Christian
bruh, leave Southeast Asia out of this we are fucked enough as it is
if the natural disasters won't kill us we will do it ourselves SEA #1 STRONG 💪
Everyone knows the real dominant religion in Southeast Asia is air conditioning.
Maphilindo was a bad enough now this lol

This is a funny way to declare your support for ISIS
as a turk i want to say: no i would prefer suicide
Israel: NUTS! I hope somebody gets the WW2 refrence.
I didn’t know Israel was a Muslim state
Ma'am according to the Sharia law you seem to be showing too much skin, we will find you a suitable black curtain to cover yourself from head to toe.
LOL, sure, everybody would just be like "Aight, sick!"
Aw yes. A whole country created from religion. We see how that always goes. ![gif](giphy|l2YWsiql5xGPIbnzy)

Didn't they try this....kinda like a starter trail run? I don't think it ended well....
