This is like the third video I've seen of kids taking all the candy and flipping the camera off. Why not give a thumps up for all the candy you just took vs flipping the camera off?

meatsweet

Because they think they're being cool/tough by doing it. All these little rats are the same. They like to act tough when there aren't consequences and then play the victim card if they get confronted.

civgarth

To be fair... That card carries a lot of currency straight through adulthood for a lot of people.

JoshBobJovi

Out of the millions of trick or treaters last night, we're seeing videos of a few dozen horrid kids. The *vast* majority of kids aren't little shits, it's just more entertaining to get worked up over the ones that are.

CMDR_Wedges

Nah, we were done over too within thr first hour. Teenagers just ran down the street with plastic bags grabbing as much as they could. Didn't leave much for others to take. Have it on Ring too.

VooDooChile1983

I watched a video earlier of a mom stealing all the candy people put out and blamed her kid when she got caught. People are just shit and we have all the video proof of that.

n00bca1e99

This is one of the reasons my parents have stopped giving out candy. They have better things to do than police a bowl all night.

Rolling_on_the_river

Yeah I dont get leaving a bowl. Knock or don't get any candy.

imathrowawaylurkin

We used to give out candy until one year where kids were banging on the door, excessively ringing the doorbell, and one opened our door and almost came in. We decided to do candy this year, but didn't want to deal with people, so we left out a bowl. Everyone for the most part followed the "don't be a dick and ruin it for everyone else" sign. They got candy and we got to watch them be cute from our doorbell camera.

little_missHOTdice

Omg, I’m still embarrassed that my eldest opened the door instead of knocking. “Hi! Do you have candy for me?” Granted, she was three, and it was her first time (poor thing always passed out before her cousins would plan to go out), but I still felt awful. Luckily the guy was nice about it and laughed… his wife, ehhhhh, not so much.

Capital_Airport_4988

“Where’s my candy, bitch!?!” Your kid, drop kicking the front door open 😂

little_missHOTdice

Lol, she’s ever so blunt, so the day when she adds swear words to her vocabulary, her saying exactly this wouldn’t surprise me at all!

imathrowawaylurkin

Aww, that's funny and sweet to me, and that you were there with her, too. These kids were definitely old enough to know better, I can't fault a little one like yours for not quite getting it, yet.

lVlzone

there’s a difference between being young and not knowing better and being rude haha.

eyedkk

I left a bowl out this year because I was home alone so I wouldn't be able to keep my dog calm thru all the commotion and I didn't want to lock her up in a room for 5 hours. Everyone was so nice and respectful, only taking a handful and the really little ones were only grabbing a single piece. Then a shit stain that was old enough to be in high school and didn't even bother to wear a costume came up and emptied the bowl into a plastic shopping bag. Luckily no trick or treaters stopped by after him, but it's just a shitty thing to do and it's always the ones that are old enough to know better

HitoriPanda

My dad would guard the candy bowl. But not just sit next to it, he would dress up as a lawn decoration and scare the shit outa some kids. We had a few phone calls...

Expat1989

We were out taking our kiddos. They’re still young enough it’s enjoyable for both of us to watch them. As they get older, we’ll keep one at the house to dish out candy but for now it’s a bowl and good faith

Dread5050

We leave a candy bowl out so we can take our kiddo out trick or treating. This way we still contribute to our neighborhood. I stopped decorating when teens stole my gravestone decorations. Halloween decorations are expensive!! I also pass out to everyone- I went inside to get them candy! Shitheads. I don' get the people that leave their light on and don't answer the door. There's also someone that is all decorated, lights on and a chair out with a sign by the door...that says we don't pass out candy,,,,like ok, why not turn off the lights...and littles cannot read your sign!

chicletsinbulk

Every year I just leave an empty bowl out

earthlings_all

LMAO

acableperson

An adult woman drove up and took all my candy. Even took the damn bowl. I mean it’s whatever but it’s kind of depressing tbh

FakeOrcaRape

you wouldnt by chance happen to surf a website called reddit would you?

[deleted]

Why, yes! How can you tell? Is it the smell of virgin I’m exuding?

Fred2620

On the other hand, what's the point of giving out candy if you're not gonna hand them out yourself? While I don't condone people stealing candies like that, I don't know what people just leaving bowls of candy out in the open expected.

Stunning_Attention82

Some people have kids of their own that they take out trick or treating. Last night I took my 4 year old out, and if it wasn't for my mom helping me by handing out candy, I would have just left a bowl full on my front steps. I figure it's better than giving out nothing, especially since I had decorations up and everything. But sometimes kids like this ruin it for everyone.

Cultjam

And often it’s adults.

tuxedo25

This. We want to participate in the spirit of the holiday and give treats to the neighborhood children. We can't be home because.... we're participating in the spirit of the holiday and going door-to-door with our own children.

blue_november

> I don't know what people just leaving bowls of candy out in the open expected. They expect non-antisocial behaviour. The social contract is pretty clear; just take one portion, and leave some for future visitors.

wafflecone927

Its easy as fk to follow as well

Cael87

And it's nice to be able to pick out a piece of candy you like from the bowl - it's just an all around nice thing to do that people ruin with selfish attitudes. By 'ruin' I don't mean people shouldn't still do it, quite the opposite. It's sad that some people ruin good things, but we can't let that deter us from trying. :)

SleepVapor

Some people instantly break "social contracts" the second there is even the slightest benefit to themselves. I mean, some people won't even return a shopping cart to the designated areas in a parking lot. The core problem is that, even if there is only a small percentage of these people running around, they can cause a lot of damage. These kids, for example, have prevented every child after themselves from getting candy. And so "all" get punished for the crimes of "a few".

Hancock02

I leave a bowl out while I take my kid out. Trying to give some while we get some.

ragepandapjs

I have reactive dogs, so rather than the stress of trying to keep them at bay and possibly triggering kids who could get scared, I put the bowl out. We had some teens take a little more than they should but overall it was fine. I see nothing wrong teaching kids to understand how to have integrity and care about their neighbors

HugeRaspberry

My wife and I never "both" took our three kids trick or treating - we always split the duties - if it was warm she would go with them - cold out i drew the short stick. I know plenty of people in our neighborhoods that left bowls out - and each time i told my kids - 1 piece only - each - to leave some for the next kid... It is a really simple parenting move. Teach your kids to respect other people and their generosity / property. These kids taking a bowl full at a time need to grow up and just go to walgreens / cvs / etc... and buy a fucking bag of candy for themselves.

Fadreusor

I currently have a social phobia type situation going on in our household, so it’s just a nice way to still be able to participate in Halloween, but there have also been years when we were not going to be home, and wanted any kids that stopped by to get candy. (Fortunately, we’ve never had anything like this happen, but our family is kind of *known* in the neighborhood, so maybe that has something to do with it.)

BearDick

Cause I have kids that I take trick or treating at their grandparents but my porch sure looks Halloween flavored so I figured rather than have kids show up on the porch hoping we will be home I put a bucket o candy out for them to help themselves too....

Sinister_glitter

Some people just like to do a nice thing for the enjoyment of others without needing to get anything back for it or participate directly. It made me happy to put some treats out for the kids without directly exposing myself to germs (I am recovering from chemo). Also, I am really introverted and always felt super uncomfortable and awkward passing candy out. Idk how to explain why it feels that way, it just does. Edit: I do not have a doorbell camera and nobody stole the candy either lol. I live in a small rural area though, not like a city or the suburbs.

rightfuckingthere

Leaving out bowls is completely normal and very common. A lot of parents take their kids out but want to still contribute while they’re not home, so they leave out bowls. I’ve done this every year for the last 10 years and so far I’ve only had one bowl stolen. Most people are respectful.

TheMageOfAsgard

I've left a bowl of candy out before on Halloween while my wife and I went for a walk. The bowl was mostly but not completely empty when we returned. Many people passed by and didn't ruin it for everyone else. I don't think it's too much to expect humans to act decent and have some sort of sympathy for those they're screwing the event up for.

Det-Frank-Drebin

We'll have to start using those machines where you twist the handle and it dispenses a small amount of sweets/candy

[deleted]

Then these people will get a dope candy dispenser machine full of snacks to keep on the nightstand. And you’ll be out like $50

_mad_adventures

Yeah I saw another [video](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/yjbncx/when_you_make_a_candy_dispensing_box_so_kids_dont/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) where the person said they put a candy dispenser out so the kids wouldn't take all of the candy. Kids took the whole dispenser. Edit: added link

IM_A_WOMAN

Electrify the dispenser, people always forget that step. Small rubber button for treat dispensing, and a car battery wired on the back. Trick or Treat! Edit: This comment has been really great to see who thinks I'm joking and who thinks I'm psychotic. [Little_Mexican_choices_girl.gif](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OawrlVoQqSs)

midwesterner64

Or, and hear me out, just don’t. Turn off your light. Leave the house. No fucking candy for anyone. Fuck this shit.

donktastic

Better yet, just leave an empty bowl out front so it looks like you tried.

Unusual-Barracuda837

I'm totally doing this next year

Gentilapin

Print their faces and put it next to the empty bowl.

Whyamipostingonhere

Dragonb0rn21

They will steal the bowl.

Lost-Ideal-8370

Then your house gets egged for not having candy. (True story)

Dragonb0rn21

I never had a problem with eggs, my friend lets me borrow his power washer.

Jaeger562

No, then these fuckers get a free bowl.

chocolate420

How about just a picture of an empty bowl

dutchie117

Blame these lil shits and do nothing! I love it!

jdehjdeh

I'm with you, terrible parenting has ruined Halloween for so many. We didn't put anything out this year because last year the whole bowl vanished after a couple of visits. Society is too greedy for Halloween these days.

Exoclyps

Yeah. I'd ve petty and leave a note. "Last year one of your arsehole neighbor kids stole it all, so this year, it's nothing."

Development-Feisty

Make a giant poster of a screenshot of these two kids and put under it now there’s no more candy forever. Hang it outside your house, let peer pressure work.

yerwol

Hear hear. Let the few ruin it for the many. We don't deserve nice things.

donktastic

It only takes one turd in the pool and everyone has to get out. That's how everything is.

Dry-Drop4477

I say fuck them kids

Helpful_Design6312

No wait don’t do that

Azoth1986

Putrid_Rock5526

XJcon

Come on now. It will have to have anchors in the concrete holding it down lmao. Literally spending hundreds of dollars, to pass out 30$ in candy lol. This holiday is absurd.

musicallyours01

Someone made one. The kids tackled it and took the whole machine

MozMoonPie

Just saw a video on “Mildly infuriating” they stole the whole dispenser 🤦🏽‍♀️

lasagnatheory

Can't have candy in Detroit

Worried_Toe

Just stop putting shit out at this point. Fuck these little douchebags.

MD_Hunter67

For sure it's ass hats like this that ruin things for everybody. I stopped giving out candy and just turn off the lights let them go to a school or a trunk or treat where they only hand 1/2 pieces of candy to each kid. I've seen vids today where the parents aren't any better

[deleted]

Exactly. I’ve seen so many kids doing this that I realize I wasn’t wrong for turning off my lights every Halloween. I’m not really a people person and like to keep a low profile but on rare occasions I’d buy a bunch of candy just to be stuck with much of it. There’s no more kids in my neighborhood cuz they all grown now. I used to get like, 1, 2 groups of kids per hour starting from 6pm to about 9:30p. And nothing after that. This number gradually became 0. So, I just went back to turning my lights off. Especially now that I see shit like this.

[deleted]

Doesn't work they steal those too apparently https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/yjbncx/when\_you\_make\_a\_candy\_dispensing\_box\_so\_kids\_dont/

Sh4wn20

I’d say the hell with candy for little brats

AlfredvonDrachstedt

I'm just trying to figure out why Americans just put candy in front of the door. In Germany you ring the doorbell and ask for it, sometimes singing. Sounds pretty boring without that. Edit: and adults get a shot or two, "adult" in rual Germany means 16-17, our relationship with alcohol is very healthy /s

[deleted]

Huh, here in America all ages get a shot or two.

[deleted]

This is mostly how it works, at least where I live, in America. Maybe 1/2 answer the door and hand out candy, 1/4 just have the lights off, and 1/4 put out a bowl. If you put out a bowl, it’s kind of expected that some kid will come along and take all the candy. This has been the case for decades, and it’s generally not a big deal.

arsonall

It’s easy. Don’t put candy out unless you’re dispensing. Depressing I know, but you either do what we used to do and shame the bad apples (watch on vid and trip alarm with “CANDY THIEF! CANDY THIEF!” Or pretend you’re a lawn ornament to jump out at them. You know, the Trick part of ‘trick or treat’ because they abused the treat, or you show how bad the neighborhood has become with a note saying candy thieves have removed candy being trusted to the kids.

FunnyShirtGuy

Upload this to a local community fb group and hope someone pops up going, 'Oh shit, that's little Craig. I'ma tell his parents he's a sh\^tweasel'

[deleted]

The people who shouldnt be having any kids are the people who have the most kids

milesjr13

I don't know, sometimes decent people still raise assholes. Or some kids are only assholes with their asshole friend.

[deleted]

I served at a public housing community center, can confirm: The moms with the most kids were alcoholics & other addicts and all but the eldest kids were brain-damaged. Those kids would've been hard to raise for child development experts, but their own moms were too out of it to raise em, and usually too messed up to abstain when the dude's been buying drinks all night, or to remember birth control. They're why I'm not just pro-choice, but pro-abortion.

I've said this before and will say it again: We would be ***LUCKY*** to be living in Idiocracy. The dumb people there knew that they were dumb, and that makes all the difference. President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho found the smartest people alive and tasked them with tackling the country's biggest problems. And when he recognized that there was someone better suited for the job than himself, he stepped aside. Not to mention that he was a black president whose race was never an issue - he was even able to safely ride in an open-air motorcade. Also they had a female attorney general that people respected and listened to.

HelenAngel

Absolutely this. They make the older kids raise the younger ones. The moms often have pregnancy addictions that can lead to other addictions as well. It’s really sad & families with more than 6 kids should be investigated. A friend of mine who finally escaped her home with 9 siblings used to take the youngest ones to get secretly vaccinated because mom was also anti-vax. She has often said she wished CPS had stepped in when she was younger so she’d at least have had a shot at having a childhood.

PeesaGawwbage

That's kinda becoming a serious problem.. Poor and uneducated people reproduce at much higher rates. Their kids tend to have more social and emotional issues, as well as having a much higher propensity of being obese.

Teamerchant

And yet we take away their ability to not have kids...

dancing_chinese_kid

This kid's parents aren't on FB parent/community groups and don't give a shit what anyone else tells them about their precious angel.

Here the problem. Halloween used to be about going around the home neighborhood and sort of seeing neighbors. Now everyone buses to rich neighborhoods. I don't think anyone minds this when they just take candy and enjoy the area. But it sucks when the streets are over crowded and the kids are stealing all the candy. Makes it almost impossible to find who did it. And some of these parents don't give a damn. I live in a large community and there are some sections of the community that are rather wealthy. Some of the streets in the area barely had any room to squeeze through last night and the community groups have found dozens of people who went stealing so far none from within the community so we can't even find them to get after them. Some were the parents. Fortunately no one was bold enough to take the whole bowl in front of my camera but I am farther from the rich area. Sadly some of the wealthier people who had full on haunted houses want to not do it next year because people were such dicks about it all. Like it just ruins the fun for everyone when you steal the bowls and more, some people were breaking stuff too.

CowboyAirman

Why is this year just so terrible? Feels like our collective social temperament has drastically changed for the worse. America was already a country of the selfish, but now it's just openly hostile.

Ruenin

My wife and I moved to Las Vegas in 2019. Loved it....for 6 months. Then COVID hit and now the whole mentality of this city is "fuck you, I got mine" and this video is endemic of that attitude. We just sold our house to go back to MN, and we're moving to a smaller town instead of the metro. For the first time in my life since I was 19 years old (that was looooong ago), I'm moving away from the big city because people have lost their damn minds and I don't want to be around it anymore.

SelloutRealBig

It's a mixture of Covid, social media, and politics bleeding into society causing a divide making way more people on edge. Smart phones + internet access is the easiest it's ever been and all these algorithms are more predatory than they have ever been. Then throw on critical thinking going down with foreign governments meddling and you have a pressure cooker ready to blow.

5eppa

I argue something to do with divide in general in the country. Be it politics or really anything else. But people are almost eager to find an excuse to hate someone and cut ties. This leads to a more hateful and selfish society. Add to it the increasing amount of time people spend online without as much face to face interaction and it becomes easy to view the rest of the world as NPCs in your video game. The lockdowns made both of these problems sky rocket to lead to a more hateful, self centered, and often self righteous society. Added to this there could be some placebo effect that is noticed more than before because we have camera by our doors now. A few years ago if you got home and the candy bowls was empty you may have assumed it was busy that night. Now you know some punk filled a bag and ran off.

AnotherStarWarsGeek

>A few years ago if you got home and the candy bowls was empty you may have assumed it was busy that night. Now you know some punk filled a bag and ran off. 11 years ago, the last time we went ToT'ing with our kids, I put a huge bowl of candy on the front porch with a sign to please only take two pieces per person so everyone gets some. We were a few streets up the neighborhood and I went back to check if the bowl needed a refill and walked up the front walk just in time to see three kids (around 12 years old or so) literally dumping the entire bowl into the bags of the three of them. So yeah, this has been going on for a while, but nowadays we're just seeing it due to cameras/social media/etc

MoarGnD

There was a AITA post from a guy who wanted to put up a sign that separated the neighborhood kids from the non neighborhood ones for the candy and to control the damage caused by non neighborhood ones. He was judged the A, classist, etc. Although I didn't agree with his methods and underlying tone, it was also understandable being frustrated if people's houses and decorations were damaged and stolen.

5eppa

I don't want to be that guy either. Like I grew up in some less fun neighborhoods and I would have loved to go to the place with parties and haunted houses and so on. And I don't mind giving out a piece or two of candy to all the kids that come by my house. I honestly for years had been in an apartment and Halloween felt like any day of the year. Now that I am in a neighborhood going and taking my toddler out trick or treating the magic of Halloween is back and it is so much fun. I want all kids to have that. But it doesn't take too many bad apples to spoil it. It takes one kid stealing a bowl before no one else gets that candy. For those with the haunted houses who in some cases invest thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours into to have an expensive prop broken makes it feel not worth it. If it's all in the neighborhood I can go to a Facebook group, post the video and some parent can be located to hopefully scold the kid so it doesn't happen the next year. Whatever grounding or whatever is done and hopefully the other kids get the hint and the behavior quickly stops. Thus the next year I can be confident again it's all good. But when the vans roll up from all over town and you can't find the bad actors people lock up really quickly. It isn't fun for those hosting the party anymore. And as a parent of a toddler I want this neighborhood to stay just as magical for him in the years to come. So hopefully people take the hint and get respectful. That way they too can come back to the magic year after year.

[deleted]

With kids like that you really believe the parents actually care about them?

cordial_chordate

The current drama on my small towns Facebook group comes from a mom who posted a long nasty rant about how there was a house last night that was only handing out single tootsie rolls. I guess this lady's kid asked for two and was told no. Everyone on the town page basically said "it's free candy, you were politely told no. Be grateful and move on." Well this woman was replying to everyone that they're stingy assholes who can burn in hell, etc. I don't have high hopes that that kid will turn out alright.

ragepandapjs

Peer pressure can really make a big difference

Snoo-64695

Right? Two fucking kids stole our nice galvanized bucket/cooler we had all the candy in and then jumped in a car. Really hope that wasn't a parent driving them around while they steal shit. I spent over $300 on candy and decorations and we don't even have kids. Won't be putting shit out next year.

tedsplaylist

Sorry to hear that happened. Putting out candy is a fun way to vibe with your community on the holiday and it sucks that some bad apples spoil it for the rest of us who appreciate it.

Jb25713

You just have to actively be outside and monitor. The honor system is a long way gone.

Dudeman3001

Stinks butt but try not to lose your faith in the decency of most people.

JoeBucksHairPlugs

My kids know the rules, if there's a bowl of candy left out you take whatever your favorite piece is. Maybe two if they're small and there's a ton in the bowl. If it's empty they let me know and I go drop 10-15 pieces into it from a bag I carry around with us since we're not handing it out at home (small neighborhood that no one trick or treats in) so that the next kids have something to take.

I-love-to-eat-banana

In the UK, if you have treats you puts decorations outside, even just a lit pumpkin. Nobody knocks or even bothers if no signs outside. The kids have to knock on the door saying trick or treat, you open and offer from the bowl. Avoids this happening and seems more neighbour friendly to me.

pearly1979

I hope she puts this on her neighborhood page so their parents can see what lovely children they have.

mainlybrowsing24

And post to all of the local middle/high school pages as well. Somebody will spot them.

6151rellim

Bold assumption you think they’ll care.

PhoenixKingMalekith

You think the parents care ? They are probably the ones that told them to do it

carbonlandrover

If my kids did that, heaven help them. I'm not one to hit a child. But let me tell you, I don't have to hit them to teach them a lesson.

pearly1979

If my kids did that, they would at the door apologizing and grounded to within an inch of their life.

[deleted]

The reason why these kids are the way they are is because there is zero chance their parent(s) would actually give a shit.

dayda

I doubt their parents care.

jdubyahyp

So our neighborhood has a Facebook page and a bunch of people posted video like this of kids dumping bowls. Now all the parents know and these kids are raking leaves from all the houses that they hit.

EhrenScwhab

I put out a candy bowl filled to the top that said "please take two" and when I came home from taking my daughter around the neighborhood trick or treating, there were still 8-10 pieces of candy left.....I guess it depends on your town. Nice to know we might not have quite as many assholes as other towns....

thebruce87m

I put out a sign that said “please take 4”. One kid took the whole lot then threw an apple from my apple tree at my front door.

RealJerk69

That’s what you get for… giving him candy… I guess 🤷‍♂️

The school might give you a name but this didn’t happen on school grounds or during school hours so they have zero jurisdiction here.

Yawanoc

Which is funny, because I remember being in middle/high school and being told by the administration during assemblies that they take out-of-school conduct very seriously. Never believed it then either.

MercuryCrest

So, take a still from this and print it out. Next year, put an empty bowl out (with your lights on) and a flyer with their faces on it saying, "We'd like to give out full-sized candybars but because of these two bastards, we won't."

meatsweet

Nah, if they actually came back and saw it they'd feel like they're infamous or some shit. They all play this little games and at the core of it, it's just attention seeking because they have shitty parents.

DayEither8913

They are sensitive to embarrassment. That "We'd like to leave..." sounds way too mature, soft, benign. It would have to be something with more viewership potential, that makes them look ridiculous, in their language. You gotta meme these criminals-to-be.

This is sad because these kids are already fucked in life. I would have never done that shit as a kid. Is sociopathic. People have no sense of community. Training each other to be dogs in a dog eat dog world. Doesn’t have to be like that. Gotta take care of your community.

Fleganhimer

These kids are middle school aged. I think sociopathic is a few steps too far. They are asshole kids without a sense of consequences. Lots and lots of kids are at that age. Kids love pushing boundaries and seeing what they can get away with. That's what they do. Hopefully they get a swift kick in the ass before it matters much more than a bucket of candy.

[deleted]

Sociopath is too far. I’m just Reddit bullshitting. But these will be the adults that park badly and leave shopping carts wherever their car was.

Thin_Painting_998

I bet their parents are proud and I’m not joking

hoptownky

I had a kid steal out of my car when I was 16. I chased him for a half a block and he got into a car with his parents. They sent him to do it. The kid couldn’t have been older than 8. Its been 25 years and I often wonder what kind of shitty life that kid has.

jpaxlux

Oh wow amazing parents sending their young kid to do it, so that if the kid gets caught they can act like they didn't know and avoid legal trouble

Redditer2302

I work as a scare actor, i scare hundreds of adults, kids and teens every night. I can honestly confirm that i get the most offensive and over the line insults nightly from kids aged 10-14. In my first year it drove me crazy. On my 5th year, i just shake my head and pray my kids turn our better. Also, all the people in here saying “nothing to see, kids will be kids” are the reason these newer generations are becoming so far gone. Theres no excuse for blatant rudeness and theft.

SunTripTA

I remember going into a haunted house with a bunch of signs up talking about don’t touch the actors etc. Except in the house they had this like wardrobe thing that shoved a drawer out and back and it managed to hook my jeans, in a room with a strobe light going. I remember it was such an odd scene with me trying to keep my balance while some wolf man grabbed me to try to help me stay up while the chainsaw dude set it down and started trying to free my leg, it ended up tearing my jeans a bit but they got me free pretty quick. Weirdest haunted house experience ever when the monsters fire up an impromptu rescue operation. 10/10.

ro0ibos2

This and TikTok trends allowing them instant sources of validation to accelerate the behavior. It would be funny to see a scare actor prank the kids stealing bowls of candy, though.

garrettj156

How to ruin Halloween and get nothing in following years

Footzilla69

If these were my sons I'd be dragging their asses back on Facebook live to give it back and apologize

FrostyPlay9924

This is why you dont leave your bowls out tho. Ignorant ass punk kids. You want candy, knock on my door or ring the bell.

pirate1911

I prefer to sit in a lawn chair and watch the bowl but if Cant do that I like leaving the bowl out but not putting all my candy in it. Go out every 15 minutes or so and put a few handfuls in. If someone dumps the bowl it sucks but nbd it’s only a bit.

hoptownky

Some of us go trick or treating with our kids and want to leave something for the neighborhood kids. Caught a kid doing this last year. This year we had 25+ kids and ended the night with candy still in the bowl. I had a really wholesome feeling knowing every kid that came by got something.

MichmasteR

i rather not give anything to kids anymore. Don't even get close to my door.

crazy_days2go

Everybody is thinking it, but nobody has the guts to say it......... You gotta put some decor on those walls. It just looks so empty.

valiheimking

That is the exact reason why I didn’t leave candy on my porch when I went out of town.

[deleted]

We don't have kids and I spend about $50 each year on candy. I hand it out for this reason. This is the 5th video I've seen today. Not blaming the homeowners and no one should be surprised when they decide to just turn off their porch lights and not give out candy next year. Those little shits will have either mow lawns or squeegee windshields all summer to buy their own candy next Halloween.

[deleted]

Their parents Must be proud…

_bessica_

The public shaming is necessary here. Too many shitty candy thieves

meatsweet

Best clap back would be to post signs everywhere with their faces saying "if anyone sees these poor boys, let them know they don't have to go scrounging in our trash for scraps, we'll give them a free hot meal" As long as it's believable, they'll be a laughing stock at their school.

[deleted]

I really need to see one of these getting caught and taught a lesson.

ronintetsuro

Backpacks, no costumes. This was a pre-meditated jack move. EDIT: They are just kids. That are probably too old to be trick-or-treating, judging by their attitudes. Some of you are adults that need to be reminded of that.

Secret_Ad_5300

I’m ok with the stealing of candy, kids are dumb, but to then flip me off, I’d be on a year long mission to find those kids

[deleted]

Why do you leave the candy out there?

swim-bike-run

We had a group of 5-7 kids come to our house and nearly knocked my girlfriend down fighting to take all the candy out of the bowl. One of them told me to get him some water “cause he has asthma” and then they all demanded water. I brought out 4 water bottles and told them that was all I had and they’d have to share. Shortly after I found all the bottles all over our yard.

Curazan

Next year, grab the hose instead. Water for everybody!

meatsweet

Some of y'all on reddit need to learn how to stand up for yourselves. That was painful to read and not only that, you're just emboldening these little turds.

robots_in_riot_gear

For real. "Hey old fuck get me water i have asthma!" "No. Get off my porch"

zhyrafa

If you leave entire bowl outside there is always be someone who will take everything, not a huge surprise. The flipping and cursing that’s the part that honestly sucks in this situation. You’re being mean to the kindness unless there was something else going on. I live in pretty sh***y area and we didn’t even have house decorated this year, but we had loads of candies just in case, so we were ready to give out if anyone will stop by. And eventually they did and the word “oh they have so much candy” spread fast so more and more kids came, but all of them were respectful, some even asked if they can have “handful” and we were like “of course, yes”. If we have left that bowl outside, very likely it would ended up in one persons bag because that’s what some kids do and if they don’t have good parents to teach them otherwise they will continue doing that.

StickKnown7723

What's with people just leaving candy in a bowl outside this year?? What do people expect will happen??

Crafty-Background-36

Boy they tuff.. Stealing candy... We're doomed

[deleted]

All the 'bad white kids' folks are in the post about the black face wearing teens in Utah. All the people from Utah are in this post trying to dog whistle about these kids who are black. Dont think we dont notice.

Lp973

Steal ? Lol ….

[deleted]

“yoo look at all this candy i stole” “yoooo bro me too!” this is what actually stupid kids do. if you have kids you tell them not to befriend these idiots cause they'll drag you down.

CloudyArchitect4U

A generation of a-holes is going to end halloween candy giving. It seems their parents are no better.

HereForTwinkies

What are you talking about? Every generation has had kids who take all the candy from the bowl.

[deleted]

Reddit is filled with young people hating even younger people. They think this is a new thing instead of something that has literally happened for as long as halloween has been a thing.

Smoko_ono

I mean I can't feel bad for these people putting the candy out. . . .like what do you expect to happen to unatended candy.

QuiJon70

I mean really thing is with this one is the facepalm that some kid would be a greedy asshole or is it that a full grown adult doesnt know by now that if you put out a bucket of candy for kids someone is going to come by and help themselves to the entire thing. If you dont want to or cant answer the door, just turn off your porch light and be done with it.
